The Fountain of Youth

I have always been fascinated by nature’s cycles, and especially by the movement of water and its importance in all ecosystems and landscapes. Since the beginning of the Australian summer a series of low pressure systems brought rain to the coast of New South Wales nearly every day. The storms fed the springs, rivers and lakes in the region, and the abundance of water was most obvious in the high plateau of the Blue Mountains. The fresh water gave birth to incredible waterfalls which appeared like fountains of youth for the surrounding flora and fauna.

The third and last image was taken on the North side of the national park, close to Mount Banks.

Colourful, Bronte pool at dawn, Flash Slideshow

Here is a series of 8 photos taken at dawn in Bronte, New South Wales, Australia. I find it fascinating how the colours changed completely in a few minutes. There is very limited post processing on those images, in fact the colours were not touched at all, you see it as it was and the contrast only varies with the exposure and the angle. Bronte pool is obviously a great subject offering some beautiful reflection and a lot of details and interest, in addition to being an Australian icon of Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.
