World Series Game 1

Here is a picture of Ellie having a little naked time while Dad watches game 1 of the 2008 World Series. It turns out that she likes baseball... BTW - Ian is rooting for the Rays b/c he likes the color of their uniforms. Iris is cheering for the Phillies b/c her cousin used to live in Philly.

The other day Ellie was just chatting away with Jennifer and Iris on the couch. I caught a short clip on my camera to share with friends and family.

Ellie Finally Takes a Bottle

After 3 months of maternity leave, this week Jennifer returned to work full time and Alex, our new Nanny, started keeping Ellie during the day. For the past week and a half we have been trying to teach Ellie how to take a bottle but she has simply refused. Yesterday Alex brought Ellie to Jenn's work so she could nurse and again this afternoon. Jenn had to close the store tonight and I was fully expecting to bring Ellie down for an evening feeding if she would not take a bottle. After 10 minutes of "arguing" with me and spitting out the nipple, Ellie finally came around and started getting after the bottle. She slugged and slugged until it was completely drained. I was so happy I immediately called Jennifer and Alex to share the good news.

About an hour later she took a second bottle and fell asleep.

Iris Mountain Biking

Yesterday afternoon Iris and I went mountain biking in the Arastradero Preserve in Palo Alto. We had a great time. We saw a baby rattle snake (we think). Here is a picture of Iris cruising down the single track. At the end of the ride I asked her if she would do it again and she said "Totally!"

Whale Watching in Half Moon Bay

This past Saturday we were swimming at the State Park beach in Half Moon Bay and were treated to a show put on by a group of whales. At least two whales were playing just beyond the breaking waves. The hung around for a good 30-40 minutes. One person I talked to said she's live in HMB her entire life and has never seen whales so close. It was one of the coolest things I've ever seen... I tried taking pictures but the sun was so bright that all you could see was glare.
