1964 Ford Galaxie 500

This 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 came into our shop with a failed rear axle bearing. Even though we were concerned about parts availability we were able to get this classic Ford back on the road in short order. While the car was in our shop for repair we had someone walk off the street and into the repair bay to take a closer look. He just said, “I know I’m trespassing but I just had to get a closer look at this car!” With 88,000 original miles the car is in awesome condition. No scratches, dents, or rust anywhere at all. When I asked the customer if the car had been stored in a barn somewhere all these years he simply replied, “Yes.”

But sometimes (thankfully) our diagnostics can be straightforward. Among the easier to diagnose problems are things with “big holes” in them -like engines with a big hole where the piston came out….or as in the picture to the left a big hole in this manual transmission belonging to a 99 VW Golf. In this case the diagnostic procedure goes more like this: Me see broken part. Me fix!  -Jerry :)

With 113,000 original miles Black Beauty still has most of her beauty but will get a new windshield on Wednesday, a little bit of engine detailing, and then a new battery before being put up for sale. We will be asking $1,995. And yes….we can put that on your credit/debit card!
