Honey i'm home!!

I'm back from the mountains and back to the beach, a few days of being home I was off again to the UK to sight see and see family, friends, animals, neighbours and basically anyone who could see us!

Whilst I was there I managed to get my laptop fixed after 3 months without it, hence the lack of posts, however now being home I promise you'll be hearing more of me!

So, hello to anyone that still might be reading this little blog of mine. I am in-fact still alive.... I know some of you might have been thinking otherwise.

I'm still skiing, and still living in the mountains and still loving all of it.

Here is just a brief overview of what i've been up to...

So as a conclusion you can clearly see that I have been having the best time in the world all whilst learning new things everyday (beer pong) and another language included, meeting the best people, probably drinking a bit too much than my poor liver can handle, skiing everyday and just squeezing as much into each and every moment as possible!

Which is what I should say, seeing as I have finally reached my destination of the french mountains.

Managed to get my first day of skiing in today! Was utterly heavenly minus a little bit of snow in the afternoon, which when being whipped across your face is not fun, i'm now a bit wobbly as my legs aren't used to working this hard, nothing a few drinks and a carbonara can't solve. Anyway how are you lot? I know it's been a while, however I should be posting little and often now i'm all settled.

Party Time

So my very best friend in the world reached the ripe old age of 21 a couple of weeks ago, and on Saturday we decided to celebrate her birthday with a delicious meal at the Salty Dog before heading to Mimosa to dance and drink the night away.

I wore a (old) Topshop dress, a Vintage cream shirt, New Look shoes, a Guess watch and a Chanel bag.

Far too many glasses of these were consumed on Saturday and boy oh boy did I feel it on Sunday!

Just a tiny spillage, nothing to worry about

This is my favourite.... that what it's called and that is what it is.

Another easy all black work outfit. I had a trial run on my hair with hot rollers to see if I would like it for my best friends birthday party, and I've come to the conclusion that I'm going to hot roll my hair more often as I love the turn out.

Pizza Pizza

Pizza is easily one of the best foods around, with the multitude of different toppings and bases, crust fillings etc.etc. The ability to eat with your hands and easy share with everyone around you. With some catching up on X Factor to do, I had intended to make everything from scratch but when M&S don't stock any yeast you're left in a bit of a muddle, so pre-made bases it was.

After smothering the base in tomato margarita sauce it was time for the toppings. Initially I wanted to go for the prettiest pizza award, however I couldn't cope with all the cheese being on one side so I went for pretty initially and then a plain ole' regular looking pizza

mmm... cheesey, mushroomy, red oniony, salami goodness.

As soon as I was happy with my amount of toppings, It went into the oven for about 8 minutes.

Perfect time for a nice glass of Rose.

I drizzled a Jack Daniels BBQ sauce over the top and it was heavenly.

MAC Face & Body

Finally the Jersey MAC counter started stocking Face and Body foundation. I don't think that it is a permanent product as it's only the 50ml bottle instead of the regular 120ml and I wanted to get some of the sculpting cream in pure sculpture as it was on the same display however of course the colour that I wanted was out of stock and it was only a one time thing!

I am so excited to be able to finally try this foundation it's a water based, long lasting, waterproof foundation that has sheer coverage which blends into the skin so beautifully and has the ability to be built up in areas which might need it. I wear the colour C3 and it is a great match for me. I really rate this foundation and would totally recommend it to anyone looking to try something new.

Don't worry it's not a permanent fringe just a clip in, just exploring different options, quite a big fan though so I have to admit that it is potentially on the cards. It's been a quiet week this week because I am in full fitness mode at the moment and have been working out everyday, including the weekend which involved 12 netball matches. So sleepy is a little bit of an understatement. Thank you for the halloween costume suggestions, I think I know what I am going to go as but you never know things might change on the day. In other news I am having laser eye surgery on Saturday, I am sick of blinking my contacts lenses out and worrying about glasses and with everything that is happening this year it's just going to be much better in the long run. I'm thinking about filming my day of the 'surgery' if you can even call it that as the whole thing should take about 30 minutes, as I thought it might be helpful or useful for other people to see. What do you think?

I love fancy dress and any reason to get dressed up and this year I have the perfect reason to mix the two. It's halloween weekend and my friends 21st Birthday, and it's all been fun and games until now as I can't decide what to wear. I've thought of two looks and I thought I would ask for your help in a VS post I've done a couple of these kinds of posts see here and here and they had a really great response so I thought you guys would be the perfect in helping me decide.

My first idea is zombie debutante who was killed en-route to the ball. I would be wearing contacts and be wearing long gloves, potentially a tiara and tonnes of jewellery, to finish the look off. In this 'outfit' I'm wearing a vintage Simon Ellis dress and Carvella Shoes.

Then lastly my other idea is a sort of 1950's esq vampire look. Again I would have contact lenses and some fangs in and the make up would be a lot more full on. In this 'outfit' I'm wearing a vintage Louis Feraud dress and undone Carvella heels.

I just can't work out which one I like best. I can mix dresses and looks, but I just don't know what I want to do.

Recently I've really been into wearing all black outfits. It might be due to having quite a horrible week and not really feeling like myself, and therefor not wanting to dress like myself, however last night I embraced wearing all black and really loved it. I paired the look with really neon pink lipstick, and had lots of compliments so it's something i'm going to wearing a lot more.

So those that follow me on instagram would have seen the zombie leg image that I uploaded today....

However much I would like to admit that it is my leg, it's not, it's my dads, who recently just had a partial knee replacement, and I was just changing the dressing as I have taken the roll as head nurse and in his words torturer when it comes to physio, and stretching.

None the less, we had a nice little walk around the butchers and supermarket before he fell asleep watching the blind side (one of the best films ever!)

Just a quick outfit that I wore one evening to work this week. I'm quite glad autumn is on the way so that I get to bring my boots and coats out! Yippeee

How do we feel about X Factor here? No, not just me okay then. I just think that some of the acts are such a joke, well Rylan mainly. Predications were made and I lost and am gutted as all of the people who are wildcards were in my predictions!

Due to my deflated feeling, I am going to drown my sorrows and dance around to this song which I can't get enough of.

Oozy eggy pasta.

So to say that I am a bit of a foodie, is a little bit of an understatement. My dad and I are a bit obsessed with home made pasta and we whip out our dryer and pasta maker ours is an imperia pasta maker at any time possible. Whilst we were watching Simply Italian, we came about a recipe that we had to try ourselves. We altered it a little bit to suit our tastes, but trust me it came out amazing!

For the pasta your going to need:

200g Strong 00 pasta flour

2 Large Eggs

Extra flour for dusting

For the filling your going to need:

125g Spinach

100g Smoked salon

100g Peeled prawns

125g Ricotta cheese

50g Parmesan

Zest of a lemon

Gratings of around half a nutmeg

1 Egg

A drizzle of truffle oil

Then however many ravioli's you make your going to need that many egg yolks, to create the oozyness.

To start we made our pasta dough, by mixing the flour and the eggs, you just have to keep kneading it and then wrap it in cling film and leave it to chill in the fridge for about 20/30 mins, which gave us perfect time to make the filling.

We steamed our spinach until it wilted as per the instructions on the packet, then we ran it under cold water and then squeezed it until all the water was out and it was dry as it could be. If it was too wet, it would cause our pasta to go soggy.

We then need to finely chop the smoked salmon and prawns and tossed it into a bowl with the lemon zest, ricotta, parmesan, and nutmeg, then add the spinach and the egg and mix all together. Make sure you taste it to see if you needed to add anything extra.

When it looks a little something like this, pop it into the fridge whilst taking out the pasta at the same time so we can start to roll it and make it into pasta.

This is our maker which is clamped onto the side of our table, and you have to go through all of the sizes to make sure it is correctly stretched out. You need to make 2 long pieces, I think this is on the lasagne setting as you can then cut out each section for your ravioli from that.

We hand arranged our little filling moulds onto the pasta by hand, if you have a piping bag, try it with that but as its a little bit chunky we thought it might be easier by hand.

Now, crack open your eggs and separate the whites and yolks, putting the yolks into the middle of your filling.

Drizzle a little bit of truffle oil and salt and pepper onto the yolk and then put the cover on your ravioli making sure to not let any air bubbles in! Trim around the edges with a pasta cutter and put onto a piece of baking paper, so that they don't stick to anything and its much easier to get into the pan, without a chance of it breaking.

Put 2 or 3 raviolis into a pan of boiling salted water for about 3/4 minutes, during this time we made a buttery mushroom sauce to put on the top of our ravioli's.

Add some fresh parmesan and cut open and watch your oozy egg explode.

Yes I know, my mouth is watering now too.

Living in Jersey I don't actually think I realise how lucky I am to be able to pop across to France for lunch and this weekend that is just what I did. I had an early morning text from Hannah saying I had 45 minutes to be ready and standing on the pier.

All prepped and ready to go, I don't think you can quite tell how excited I am!

On the way back home, after lots of shellfish and lots of vin et demi's we decided to pop over to Les Ecrehous on the way home, as I had never been before!

Les Ecrehous are very similar to The Minkies however there is no toilet here and more houses on all separate islands instead of one big island like on The Minkies.

Jersey Live Day 2

So day two of Jersey Live and was my head was hurting a little bit to say the least. However Alex Clare, Jake Bugg, The Stranglers and Noel Gallagher, to name just a few were all playing so we got ready and prepared ourself for round 2. I have to admit the first couple of drinks took a little while to go down, but after that things got a little bit easier.

We spent a lot of time trying out all of the stalls and rides that were on offer, including an oxygen bar, tattoo lip transfers, jewellery and hats.

Jersey Live it was a pleasure as always, I'll see you again next year, now if you'll excuse me my poor liver needs a rest!

Jersey Live Day 1

So day 1 of an annual festival we have every year called Jersey Live. I was so excited for the Saturday because it had all of the bands that I wanted to see, and I managed to go and see everyone! I got to watch Devlin, Mavricke Sabre, Jaguar Skills, Chase and Status, Rizzle Kicks and Professor Green. Along with copious amounts of spins on the waltzers, lots of cider, and lots of dancing it was a day not to be messed with.

New Look Vest, Topshop Shorts, New Look Boots, H&M Headband, Ray-Ban Aviators.

Frolicking in the flower fields, which ultimately had stinging nettles concealed within, so this didn't last very long at all.

After a good 6 hours of dancing it was time for home, a pint of water and a painkiller ready for day two.

Hi i'm Mo. Don't I just melt your heart? I'm 8 weeks out and not quite old enough to go and play on the beach, but I like chasing leaves around the garden and playing with golf balls as tennis balls are still a little bit too big for me. I'm telling mum what to type as my paws are just too little for the keys, and she said I can use her laptop any time to keep you all updated. Anyway I'm going to go as there are lots of leaves that need chasing around the garden. Catch you guys later.
