Bye Bye Blogger!

As you can judge by how long ago my last post was, I haven't making much use of Blogger lately. I have a million products that I need to review but I've been so busy with work that I haven't had time to actually sit down and write. I don't want to give up blogging but what I have decided is to move by blog to Tumblr. I have been using Instagram lately and love that I'm able to quickly take a picture of my current manicure or a haul, write a quick little description and be able to post it immediately. Instagram forwards my posts into Tumblr so it will always be up to date. Of course I'll still write reviews and load them with pictures but the short posts will allow me to keep my blog updated regularly.

I have also changed my blog name to Buttercream & Lip Gloss... why? I got bored of my name and thought Buttercream & Lip Gloss was perfect for me being that I am a lip gloss addict & a baker/cake decorator. I'm planning on throwing in a couple of posts of my cakes/cupcakes here and there. If you'd like, you can follow my new blog at:

I hope everyone is having a wonderful and safe holiday season! I usually don't do holiday inspired manicures but this year I felt a little festive. :D I've been accumulating several striping polishes but I rarely use them because I have yet to master a technique to achieving clean and even stripes. I figured candy cane nails would be a great way to practice.

I hadn't tried any of NYX's Diamond Sparkle Lipsticks so on my last trip to Ulta I decided to purchase Sparkling Dusty Rose. Looking at the swatch on NYX's site, you'd think this was a burnt orange lipstick but it's actually a nice muted rosy red with shimmer. This lipstick went on smooth and evenly. It wasn't drying, however, I didn't feel it was a moisturizing lipstick as described. I got a good three hours of wear before I felt the need to reapply. Ulta currently has a buy one get one 1/2 off sale on NYX so I may stop buy to purchase a few more Diamond Sparkle Lipsticks.
