If there is one time of the year I dread buying presents for, it's fathers day. From my personal experience the male human race are extremely hard to buy for - fussy, don't "need" anything or just plain don't have a clue, very different compared to us ladies. However, that's until I come across this handy hair grooming tool from Remington. It's a versatile, convenient and looks rather swish If I do say so myself. Obviously this doesn't fit to my criteria, so I grabbed my good friend Sam to give it a go. Lets see what he thinks.

"I usually steer away from these kind of tools for a number of reasons. 1. I seem to have it in my head they are only for men with short hair, 2. They look super confusing, 3. From friends experiences, they are hard to use." He had a go and I watched silently in anticipation (they are so difficult to read), and the result was great. This is his final verdict - "I'm really impressed and shocked at how easy it is to use, I like that you can use it for your hair and beard, but on this occasion I just used it on my hair".

I was pretty impressed myself about the fact that you can use it on hair as short as 4mm to 42mm. It also has different speeds and is touch control, did I forget to mention that? Pretty cool, eh. I must also add that he had a dodgy hair cut last week, and this is now resolved. He's a happy boy.

Holiday Beauty On The Mind...

My scorching summer holiday is soon approaching and typically beauty has been on my mind. It's time to start preparing by upping the SPF game, bagging lighter formulas, skin soothers, extra hydrating properties and cooling heros.

Over the past couple of months I've been collecting all possible candidates in a bag - anything that claims to sooth, hydrate, protect and cool, I'm game and it's gone straight in the bag. I have a couple of options for each category which does make me think I need to narrow it down, but possibly thinking the hot heat would be the perfect environment for me to trial a few products. For example, Dior Nude BB Cream or the Chantecaille Just Skin. Chantecaille is your buddy for high SPF, sheer coverage and pollution fighting properties. Yet on the other hand Dior is offering a lower SPF, slightly more coverage and a more matte base. (I'm only thinking about using these for evenings).

When it comes to SPF, I've been researching for lighter formulas for days out, and ones that are much more emollient which feel more hydrating and protecting for sun bathing. I can't think of a better brand than Murad - well known for their skincare, I've met the man myself and he really knows his stuff. I have 100% trust with these guys, which is so important when it comes to protecting your skin. Although, I'm not sure these will see me through the whole two weeks so I think I'm going to need to introduce another brand to the table also.

I've put a lot of thought into hair care for this - usually, I'm not fussed at all. However, the heat mixed with sea water and chlorine is looking like a disaster waiting to happen. I've been putting away sprays that have UV filters to protect, hydrating mists and masks that claim to nourish and repair. Ojon and Aveda are big contenders for these...

That's just a little overview, I won't go on too much otherwise this will turn into an essay. But I just want to quickly add that if anyone has any recommendations for products you found really useful for holidays, do let me know in a comment below.

Boots Lets Make It Happen

To kick start 2013 Boots have launched a new campaign called "Boots Lets Make It Happen" - now, I'm pretty sure many of you reading this have made countless promises to yourself. Whether that be to start eating healthy, taking care of your skin or quit smoking - it's always hard to make changes and that's why Boots have launched this campaign. They want to support everyone who is making a change for 2013, encouraging them to take action with lifestyle changes and meet personal goals.

I've just updated my pinterest and created a new board called #bootsmakeithappen - I love the campaign and thought that by creating a board with all of my inspirations, it will help me to acheive and go for certain looks that I would usually shy away from. Decongest, brighten, hydrate

Ren Invisible Pores Detox Mask, *Elemental Herbology Facial Glow, *Aromatherapy Associates Hydrating Rose Face Mask

There comes that certain time every now and then, where my skin is just ugh. It's a bit lack lustre, congested, un-even and needs the full works to chirp it up a bit. Usually, this much hated phase happens every couple of weeks, but thankfully, I've conjured up three perfect products. Each to their own, however they are all similar in a way of being quite gentle. Above all of that they work very well together to cater to my skins needs.

The first product on the agenda is the Ren Invisible Pores Detox Mask - now, firsts things first, this isn't going to make your pores disappear. However, it does an excellent job in de-congesting my skin. Making it feel much lighter and clearer. This is a brilliant option if you have sensitive skin, and especially whilst induldging in an activity like this because it's very gentle and won't irritate your skin, making it ideal if you're using a number of products in a short space of time.

The next step is to brighten, let me introduce the Elemental Herbology Facial Glow. I've spoken more about this beauty here, but in a nutshell - it offers a more gentle exfoliation, but with the same effectiveness as a more intense product, think Alpha H Liquid Gold. Massaging this into my skin and leaving on for 5-10 minutes (depending on the sensitivity of your skin) results waking up the next morning with a glowing complexion. Using this weekly has also really helped to fade some stubburn acne scars.

After detoxing my skin and loading it with acidic exfoliating ingredients, it's time to add some moisture. Product of choice? The Aromatherapy Associates Hydrating Rose Face Mask. There are a number of ways you can use it, simply apply a layer and leave on for 10 minutes, or if you want to take it to the next level, leave it on over night. Both result in a hydrated, plump and bright skin. I also love the fact that it's clear, making it a possible contender for my holiday beauty bag.

Skincare Picks #4

This skincare picks edition is more focused around body care. Why's that you say? Well, I have a holiday coming up in three months and thought it would be a good opportunity to trial some products in order to get my skin in good nick for the bearing clothes and intense heat.

The first thing on my agenda is to keep my skin hydrated so I've been alternating these two products - the L'Occitane Supple Skin Almond Oil and the Lush Dream Cream. I've heard so many good things about the Lush Dream Cream and even a lot of my readers feedback is positive, commenting on how it has helped with their eczema. It's the most hydrating, moisturising body cream I've ever tried and I love it. It's blends extremely easily into the skin and doesn't leave you feeling tacky, it's definitely a product that I will be taking on holiday with me.

When it comes to the L'Occitane body oil, this is more nourishing, conditioning and repairing. It's meant to be fabulous for firming skin so I'm looking forward to seeing a long term result, will keep you updated. For now, the smell is divine and it feels quite light and comfortable once applied on the skin.

I'm sure you all know by now that I've gone SLS free when it comes to shower products, the latest one that I've just finished (boohoo) is the Weleda Wild Rose Creamy Body Wash. It's so much more moisturising than your usual SLS contained body wash. I can visibly see the difference and would love to try more from their range, so far it's my favourite SLS free body wash that I've tried.

Real Techniques Buffing Brush, MAC Duo Fibre 187, Real Techniques Contour Brush, Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush, Real Techniques Shadow Brush

I remember the days of slathering on my base and other products with my fingers, not that there is anything wrong with that. It's just that certain formulas work better with brushes, e.g MAC Face and Body - works wonders when you blend with your fingers. However, my daily stash of make-up requires some handy tools to help along the way, as well as making everything a little more hygienic.

Lets start with what I use to apply my foundation, of course you all know what I'm going to say - The Real Techniques Buffing Brush. (Quick note, if you're just getting into make-up or fairly experienced, I can highly recommend these brushes for good quality and performance.) This brush makes applying foundation extremely easy and quickly at that. I usually use it in a buffing motion, then move onto a pressing motion to push the product onto my skin.

The next one along you can see in my brush holder is my trusty MAC 187 Duo Fibre Brush. This is bloody brilliant for bronzer, and that's what I use it for every, single, day. It doesn't pick up a lot of product which is perfect if you want to avoid over-doing it. It's amazing for achieving an all over blended, bronzed complexion.

Next up is the Real Techniques Contour Brush - this has so many uses. I've used it in the past for foundation, cream bronzers such as the Soleil Tan De Chanel and blending concealer under the eye and around the face. But, I especially love using it for highlight as it's quite small and precise. After highlight, I give it a quick spot clean and use it for my cream blusher, used in a stippling motion it blends the product beautifully without making you look like a clown, spreading it everywhere.

Now the next one is meant for your eyes, however, it does a fabulous job at blending conceal applied around the face, or conceal touch-ups throughout the day. Meet the Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush. Lastly is a brush that comes in the same set as the Deluxe Crease Brush, it's called the Shadow Brush. I use this for one purpose only, and that's blending out any products on my lid, which helps a shadow newbie like me a lot.

Gone are the days when I used to want to own every single MAC brush, I'm quite happy with my small collection of budget, yet amazing brushes.

Make-up Picks #4

I've had a love affair with a lot of new products recently that I absolutely adore, to the point where I would happily re-purchase any of them and can't imagine them not being apart of my collection. Especially the mascara pictured above, that is possibly the best I've ever tried, but more on that later.

For achieving a faux bronze the Clarins Bronzing Compact from their Summer 2013 Splendours collection has been making me tick. Extremely flattering and just looks beautiful, you can read more about it and see what it looks like on here. But, I must quickly add it's limited edition and I strongly advise you all to get your mitts on it. I haven't quite ruined the stunning South American style design yet, which by the way I'm dreading. Make-up can't look pretty forever though, right?

Nars Sheer Glow has been introduced back into my life (praise the lord), and I'm loving it. I still love my others but I do think it's nice to switch it up from time to time. What I love about this foundation is it's light-medium weight texture, yet combined with it's pigmented formula, it means you don't need a lot of product to achieve a perfected base. It's not matte, dewy or luminous just very natural in terms of finish. It's one of those foundations you can rely on for longevity and to look good on your skin over a long period of time. You can see what it looks like on here.

Lets talk mascara... I've tried lots, loved many and hated many. Some tick certain boxes, yet fail on other terms. But, I think this may be the one, slightly dramatic, I know. You can see what it looks like on me here. However for now, in a nutshell it offers the perfect amount of curl, volume and doesn't do that horrible flakey thing where you look like a panda half way through your day.

Going onto some cheek chatter, and let me start off by saying that two months or so on, MAC Melba still hasn't braced them. Yes it's a shock to me too. I'm still hooked on this creamy delight from YSL, shade Velvety Peach if you're wondering. Super easy to apply, blend and looks very pretty and light on the skin. It's just stunning and I can't think of a bad word to say about it, and I don't usually get on with the creamy kind.

However, this foaming cleanser is actually SLS free which makes it far from stripping and much closer to conditioning. You also get the Sheer Transformation moisturiser, a light textured, oil-free cream that helps to fade discolouration's. I personally haven't tried this yet, but it sounds fantastic and I'm looking forward to letting you all know how I get on.

Lucky for you, the Truth Serum is also in the kit, which is one of his cult products. It's a serum loaded with Vitamin C, antioxidants and moisturising properties to help repair, hydrate and protect your skin from environmental damage. Last but definitely not least you get the chance to try the Ultimate Lift Eye Gel. Consisting of Calendula and cucumber which to soothe puffiness, hydrate and smooth fine lines. I'm having some issues with one of my eyes at the moment and think this may be the perfect product to get me through.

I've been banging on about this brand quite a lot and understand the price point is a concern for a lot of you. That's why I'm excited to share this with you, as you get to explore without the huge price tag - would highly recommend this kit if you're a 'try before buy' kinda girl.

Narciso Rodriguez For Her, Nars Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base

I shouldn't really be spending as I'm going on holiday in three months, I should be saving for that, however, of course I couldn't resist but treat myself to a couple of beauty bits. I've taken this eyeshadow thing to a whole new level and introduced the Nars Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base to my collection. I'm slightly skeptical about eye primers, eyeshadows generally do last quite well on me. However, I've heard great things about this and hoping it will do the trick in reducing any creases and what not. Will keep you updated... I bought it from Space NK, as you've probably guessed. N.Duldge come to me!

The next thing I've been yearning for is a new fragrance. I'm stuck in a rut at the moment with mine, I don't love any and wanted something new for the season. I was after something soft, pretty, feminine yet elegant at the same time and this Narciso Rodriguez for her is perfect. It's got a beautiful balance of floral, musk with woody notes, slightly addicted. I was going to opt for the Eau De Toilette in the black bottle, but I actually prefer this one because I think it lasts longer and wears nicely on me.

Daily Eye Look

What can I say people, I'm a changed woman. I've ditched the eyeliner and I'm fully addicted to eyeshadows. Don't get me wrong, I do still love a little flick but I'm really enjoying wearing a different look. There have been a couple of eyeshadow products I've fallen in love with, such as the Burberry Palette in Mocha and the Clarins Summer 2013 palette but, there have been three products that I simply cant stay away from. I've created a little look that simple and easy to throw together.

I've spoken about this plenty of times, but the Clinique Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes in Fuller Fudge is a winner. Easy to apply, blend and lasts all day. You can wear it quite sheer as a wash of colour or build for slightly more pigment, I vary it depending on my daily duties. I run this over my lid as well as underneath to create some smoke.

For extra definition I've been using the Burberry Eye Definer in Midnight Brown, possibly the most perfect pencil if you're looking to create definition and slight smokey-ness. It's quite sheer so as you apply it, it barely needs blending which is the beauty of this product. Applying this on my tight line and the bottom outer corner right into the base of the lashes to add more depth and definition.

To finish it off, I can't go without a slick of mascara. I've been testing Lancome Doll Eyes, I wasn't too sure at first but can report back with my final thoughts. I adore this, it creates length and more of a natural looking volume. It possibly may be the best mascara I've tried.

You may be familiar with the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors - Apricot Shimmer is a popular shade amongst us bloggers and fellow beauty obsessed. If you haven't, you need to get your hands on some. I like to think of them as the perfect lip product for Spring/Summer - you can't go wrong with their delicious smell, smooth, hydrating formula, fuss free application and sheer wash of colour that quite literally 'perfects' your lips. Plus, they are super easy to apply on the go which makes them a popular handbag buddy. I've applied them before whilst walking, without a mirror. You would think that's talent, but nope, just sheer ease of application. For that fact alone, they get a big thumbs up from me.

Now, they already have three shades in the range - Rose Shimmer, Apricot Shimmer and Nude Shimmer and they are introducing three more wonderful shades to the range. Petal Shimmer, which is a pale pink, Candy Shimmer which is bright coral and Rosewood Shimmer which is a neutral brown. My favourite out of the bunch is Candy Shimmer which I'm wearing in the photograph down below. As you can see, it's not bright like it appears on the applicator, but just adds a little something-something. I can't seem to find one fault with these, every single aspect is just perfect and highly addictive. From the packaging, formula to the results, every box is ticked for me.

If there is one destination in London I'm always drawn too, it's Regent Street. You can't go wrong with the range of shops - you've got high street options like H&M as well as the likes of Burberry (we can all dream), tech shops as well as restaurants.

For me personally my day goes a little like this - I love to have a browse in Apple, i've been lusting after an iPad for blogging on the go for far too long now. Next stop I make is COS, the epitome of modern chic clothing and accessories. Then of course I can't go without giving H&M a mention. It's my favourite H&M in London, I particularly love their trend section which is to die for. Oh, and have you heard of the newbie on the block? & Other Stories - you probably have because everyone has been talking about how amazing it is, of course I'm desperate to have a peek. For beauty buys and quirky home decor, I can't get enough of Liberty. Then the day can't go without grabbing a bite to eat. My favourite place on Regent Street? Sketch - delicious. I love London and I'm pretty clued up about different areas to visit, and I have to say Regent Street is most definitely in my top 5.

Organised Beauty

Just recently I've re-organised my beauty stash, an activity I enjoy practising when a new season arrives. This means chucking out the things I really don't need, switching up products and finding ways to de-clutter.

The first thing that was on my mind was to find a way to store my doubles, products I'm not really using at the moment but will in the future and products I pull out for specific reasons. In the end I purchased these white drawers from Argos, the drawers are kind of small but that's what I like about them (you've probably seen these if you follow my Instagram - JessicaFrench_). This way, I can say to myself "If nothing else fits, then something needs to go" - so essentially I have too much and it's not necessary. I have four of these in total that house skincare, body care and extra make-up bits. To notch it up another level I went to Staples to purchase a label maker, which not only feeds my OCD thrills but makes it super easy for me to find what I want.

Next on the agenda was to take a trip to Muji. The land of dreams for us OCD freaks that love to keep our most precious things organised. I added two more - one for foundations and one for primers and other base products. I don't intend on getting anymore, as I said before, If it can't fit, somethings got to go. Plus, these Muji drawers look after the products that I'm most likely to reach for daily.

I decided to find a new way to store my daily brushes. There were too many and my glass jar was looking a bit dull. I saw on Amelia's blog that she had purchased this Limited Edition Paul & Joe Brush Holder, and it's perfect. Not too big, not too small. Just enough to store the brushes I use daily, and the rest go into storage. I also made use of an empty Diptyque jar to store other tools such as tweezers, eyelash curlers and brow necessities.

Lastly it's time to have a product switch up (more on this in another post). As I've said previously, I like to change my nail polish to cater to new seasons. Berries and festive glitters go into a little white drawer, and the pastel, summery hues are happily welcomed to my main dressing table drawer. Nail polishes can be a tough one to store, so I like to minimise it this way to keep it simple and tidy. I like to store these in old beauty boxes just to keep everything together.

New Launch: Clarins Splendours Summer 2013 Collection

Clarins Summer 2013 Collection: Limited Edition Bronzing Compact £30, Limited Edition Clarins Colour Quartet and Eyeliner Palette £31, Limited Edition Instant Smooth Crystal Lip Balm £18

Let me introduce to you, the ever so beautiful Clarins Splendours Summer 2013 Collection. Made up of four limited edition products - Bronzing Compact, Instant Smooth Crystal Lip Balm, Eyeshadow & Eyeliner Quad and Instant Smooth Crystal Lip Gel (which I don't have). The collection is inspired by the ancient ruins of South America which is heavily driven by colour and prints. Think beautiful bronzed, glowing skin and pops of colour and you've got it.

Lets start with my favourite out of the collection, the Bronzing Compact. It's made up of two tones with a soft, gold highlight in the middle. The design and results of this product is stunning, and all of the tones work extremely well together. It blends effortlessly onto the skin without disrupting your base, offering a sun kissed warmth. It's truly amazing and if you want to get just one product out of the collection, it's this one.

For eyes they have brought out a quad and eyeliner palette. It has four shades, copper, pale gold, deep plum and a dusky pink. Along with the shadows, it also has a brown eyeliner. They are quite sheer and easy to work with, yet but build-able. I used copper across the lid as well as underneath, with the deep plum in the crease to create definition. The photograph doesn't quite transfer how beautiful this looks, but it creates a very summery, soft bronze, warm look. It's hard to explain, but lets just say if you were going to wear eyeshadow to an exotic beach, it would be this one. This has made it's way into my Muji drawers for daily use, I can't rave enough about how good this is.

Now, going onto lips. I only have one of the lip products here and thats the Instant Smooth Crystal Lip Balm in Mandarin - at first I was expecting this to be very sheer but i'm impressed with the colour pay off. It feels very hydrating and light on the lips, which are formulas I reach for in the warmer weather. It's easy to apply and I find just moulds into your lips, without looking like you have an extra layer. Plus, the colour is so beautiful and complimentary to so many skin tones. This comes in four shades all together, Rose, Gold Plum, Mandarin and Berry. I have my eyes on Rose next. The other lip product they have brought out is the Instant Smooth Crystal Lip Gel - Imagine the Instant Light Lip Perfectors, but transparent offering skincare benefits and a very sheer wash of colour.

I've been a lot more experimental with make-up these days and often find myself switching between products more frequently, which is actually quite refreshing. I find it can get a bit boring otherwise, however, saying that I do stick to certain products daily which you can read about here. But for now, I thought I'd fill you in on what I'm trying, what I love and what I'm not so sure about...

Lets start with base, I've been trialling the latest offering from Bobbi Brown - Long-Wear Even Finish Foundation. I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with this. The downsides are that I find you have to work with it quite quickly, it clings to dry patches and doesn't sit well on my skin at first. However, after an hour or so when it's mixed with the natural oils in my skin it has a really nice finish. It gives a semi-matte, flawless finish and almost has a soft focus finish which blurs out pores and any imperfections. I haven't quite made up my mind, but I'm possibly thinking this will be more suitable for summer. I will also advise you not to use this if you have dry skin, I have dry prone skin that I maintain giving me normal skin, so find I can just about get away with it. To all you oily skinned girls out there, think you would really like this!

Because the foundation's more on the matte side I like to add a highlighter into my routine. Product of choice? No other than the infamous Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Powder in Candlelight - My absolute favourite for a natural glow that moulds in with your skin and the rest of the products, I simply can't get enough. To add some colour I've been obsessed with this new bronzer from Clarins, it's from their Summer 2013 collection (more on this soon). The tones are spot on and offers that perfect sun-kissed finish to your complexion. It's limited edition so I highly recommend you all to go out and buy it. To finish off the base I used the YSL Creme De Blush in Velvety Peach - I'm usually an avid user of MAC Melba but, I've been using this everyday for the past 3 weeks or so. It leaves a very natural finish, nor matte or dewy, just perfect for everyday. I'm also very surprised that for once I've wanted to use another blush over Melba for a long period of time, seeing as this is my ultimate favourite.

For eyes I'm sure you're all aware that the Clinique Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes in Fuller Fudge has become my best friend. You can read more about that here, but it's ease of application and the effortless, un-done look you can create keeps me coming back. The mascara that's been making it's way onto my lashes is Lancome Doll Eyes. Once again, I'm not too sure on this so I will keep you updated. But for now I really like how weightless it feels, I've also had no problems with it smudging at all so I love that it's reliable in that sense.

To pull everything together a lipstick is needed and the one I've been reaching for the most is Lancome Rouge in Love in 200B. If you're looking for that perfect, muted pink thats very neutral, but still there, then this is the one for you. I'm impressed with the staying power also, and how after a while it leaves almost stain on your lips.

Get The Look with The Body Shop at LFW Vauxhall Fashion Scout SS13

Fashion week has recently passed us, giving us an insight for all the beauty trends for SS/13 - which Is extremely exciting, I'm not sure if you remember but I actually joined the Body Shop for a couple of shows to get a sneak peek and today I'm bringing to you some other key looks that were featured during LFW by The Body Shop.

This first look is a black, smokey eye using in total three products. Colour Crush Eye Shadow, Carbon Eye Definer and the Extra Virgin Compact Foundation - which is pretty impressive, I'm all about simplicity when it comes to make-up. As an eye base the Extra Virgin Compact Foundation is used to create a blank canvas, this not only will make it last longer but will allow the products used to look stronger. The main product used in this look, which I find really adds depth is the Carbon Eye Definer. Used Over the lid, up to the socket and brought underneath adds depth as well as acting as a base for the Colour Crush Eye Shadow. This will not only make it stronger but sets it all in place as well as making it easier to blend. Once all blended you're left with this perfect, black smokey eye. Which looks extremely easy, it's definitely one I'm going to have a go at for an evening out.

Now, for the next look it's all slightly different. It's more theatrical and plays with pretty, summer like hues. The base is kept very fresh with the All-In-One BB cream, which I'm personally a fan of. Once again the Extra Virgin Compact Foundation is used as a base and to neutralise the tone. This is something that's important when using a shade like Lavender Love from their Colour Crush line. A wash of this across the lid creates a very pretty "doll like" look as Lan describes it, which sums it up perfectly. To finish off the eyes, Super Volume Mascara is used - What I love most is the contrast between the bold lashes and soft eye look. To add some colour, the All-In-One cheek colour in Mascaroon is used, which compliments the rest of the shades used. This isn't a look I would copy exactly, but I'm taking note of the purple hues for summer time inspiration.

Operation, Hydration

I find that there is always one aspect of beautifying ourselves that we lack in, and that's taking care of the skin on our bodies. Even with the most simple things, like with shower gels and the content of their ingredients. For example, SLS - An ingredient that strips the natural oils and moisture from our skin. More on this later though, I think this subject deserves a whole post to itself. Today we're talking my mission for hydrated skin.

I've always suffered with dry-ish skin on my body since going on holiday a few years back, after I baked in the sun it lead to damaged, patchy skin. Therefore, I'm on a mission to fix this and try and repair my skin as well as keep the rest of my skin hydrated. Plus, I'm going on holiday for two weeks in July so I want it in good condition to prepare it for the intense sun. I've cut all the products from my collection containing nasties - mineral oil, silicone and the dreaded SLS, just to name a few. And oh boy, am I seeing a difference. Even if you don't suffer with particularly dry skin, I really think it's something to think about.

Starting with the shower related products, the latest SLS free wonder I've been trialling is the Weleda Wild Rose Creamy Body Wash. It's a lovely, thick formula that feels very nourishing and kind to the skin. It's also cruelty free which gets a big thumbs up from me. The difference I see in my skin after using this is incredible, I wish I had done it sooner. No longer am I coming out of the shower with parched, visibly dry skin. After using this I massage in some of the L'Occitane Almond Shower oil - this feels beautiful, it's highly addictive so don't say I didn't warn you... It softens the skin and adds extra moisture. I also find it's perfect for shaving. Seeing as this can be a drying activity it's nice to use something that's going to inject some moisture and provide more slip for the blade, to resist damage.

For when I'm out of the shower, it's time to moisturise. I've been altering between these two products - L'Occitane Supple Skin Almond Oil and the Lush Dream Cream Hand & Body Lotion. The Lush Dream Cream is a thick, extremely hydrating moisturiser that leaves the skin feeling soft and nourished my morning. It's by far the best I've ever tried, and I've tried my fair share. I also love that it doesn't take forever to massage into your skin. The L'Oocitane Supple Skin Almond Oil comes into play when it comes to repairing and deeply hydrating my skin. Almond oil is high in Vitamin E which is a fabulous repairing property, which I'm also hoping will help with some stretch marks on my inner thighs. Overall this product is meant to be really good for intensively hydrating and firming, so far I'm loving it, but I will keep you updated on the firming factor.

I like to switch up my make-up from time to time and dabble with different blushers, bronzers or try the latest mascara that's worked its way into my collection. However, there are still those products that I use in my daily routine that I absolutely love and never seem to stray from. I'm talking the ones I have and would re-purchase over, and over again.

Lets start with my trusty concealing combo. Benefits Erase Paste has become a little bit of a daily essential for me. This thick, creamy concealer (I think it works better as a corrector) neutralises my under eye area and brightens at the same time. I apply it in the inner corner right where It's needed, so when it comes to using a bit of By Terry most of the work is done. Now, with the By Terry it almost seals it in place and the yellow based shade takes away the slight salmon tone that the Erase Paste leaves - plus, I'm addicted to it's silky texture that just melts into your skin whilst offering a light-weight medium coverage, It's love.

The Bobbi Brown Face Touch Up Stick is something that's wangled it's way into my make-up bag in the past week or so, already I can tell it's a winner. It's small, precisely shaped nib makes it perfect for concealing any redness or blemishes on my skin. It has a medium-high coverage that covers perfectly without looking cakey or going dry, this stuff is seriously good. I've even put one in my handbag for touch ups on the go.

Last but not least lets get down to the serious stuff, eyebrows. The only product for me in this category is the Tom Ford Brow Sculptor in Taupe. I've gone on about this far too much recently but I just can't get enough, the best brow product I've ever tried to give that natural, yet defined finish. It's super easy to use and extremely long lasting, you can see a video of me applying it here. To set that all in place I always turn to the Anastasia Clear Brow Gel, holds everything together without leaving you with hard, crusty brows. Which is always a good thing.

New Launch: Kiehls Actively Correcting & Beautifying BB Cream

You may be familiar with BB creams by now as they hit the beauty shelves last year, promising high coverage, properties of a primer as well as skincare benefits all in one. I personally always felt they were slightly gimmicky claiming a lot - especially when they seemed to come around so quickly, leading me to think that not much thought had gone into them. However, if there is one brand to put thought and extensive research into a product, It's Kiehls.

Kiehls are introducing their BB cream to the market - Kiehls Actively Correcting & Beautifying BB Cream. After learning about this at their event earlier this year, I have to say I was very impressed with their concept behind it. Kiehls are promising that this isn't like every other BB cream that has a tonne of empty claims, yet a BB cream that offers equal amount of skincare and coverage. Inspired by the original BB cream that was developed in Germany in the 1950's, which was given to patients post surgery to offer coverage as well as to nurture the skin at the same time. The official claims behind the Kiehls BB cream is that it provides all day hydration, feels lightweight on the skin, offers build-able coverage and in the long run helps to even skin tone with properties of Vitamin C. Which acts as an anti-oxidant to help improve fine lines, increase radiance and improve the texture of your skin overtime. I must also add that it has SPF50 and UVB protection.

Now, I've had this product in my stash for a good three months so I've given it a fair road test, unfortunately not enough to see if there were any changes in the condition of my skin. What I can say is that it definitely lives up to its cosmetic claims. (I have no doubt that lives up to the scientific claims as Kiehls is a brand I trust, have tried previously and personally find very effective). I found it very light-weight on the skin, long lasting and the coverage was quite generous. It also made my skin feel very smooth and soft which felt very comfortable to wear all day. After application my small scars were still noticeable, but nothing that a little bit of concealer or extra product can't handle. I would definitely say that It's build-able, but looks best with less applied as this results in a skin like finish that looks very natural and gives a healthy glow to your skin. I use my hands to apply the product which I find works perfectly. I'm not usually keen on BB creams and I never jumped on the bandwagon or fell for the hype, but overall it gets a big thumbs up from me.

A Vamped Up Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation

In the past I've been known to be a bit of a foundation snob, and the fact that I adore this product is not just a shock to me, but also my friends. However, this is possibly my most reached for foundation and has definitely made it into my edit of my favourite bases along side Giorgio Armani and Jemma Kidd.

Now, lets get down to the nitty gritty as I'm sure you don't recognise the foundation photographed above, thats because one of the most highly raved about foundations has had a little bit of a make-over. What's changed you asked? Well, not only has the packaging been revamped which you can clearly see, but the formula has changed too. Apparently there is extra fruity goodness for radiance and hydration, as well as other properties to help even out the tone of your skin. They have also added more shades, now there is a total of 8 - which is always great to see on the high-street.

I've given this foundation the ultimate test to see how much it's actually changed, and what I mean by this is that I've been applying the original on one half of my face, and the new version on the other half. Heres the low-down of my results... Lets start of with the shade, it's exactly the same, no lighter, no darker. The next element I looked out for was the texture, coverage and how it applied, which once again was the same. Lasting power? No difference. The only differences I could notice is that the latest version was more forgiving when it came to my pores. I'm not sure if it's just the case that on one side of my face my pores are larger, but this is something I've never come across before. On my left side where the latest version was applied, my pores were almost blurred out and the surface was much smoother in appearance. The only thing I'm on the fence about is the packaging, the old one made it ideal for travelling (which I do a lot), but then again I love the luxurious feel the glass bottle offers.

Overall I still love it, not much has changed that I can notice, apart from what was mentioned above. It still offers that medium, lightweight coverage that blends so beautifully on the skin. The lasting power and semi-matte, natural finish are the main reasons I will continue to reach for this daily. All of that combined with a budget price tag, you can't really go wrong. I have normal/dry skin and I can imagine it being suitable for all skin types, so if you haven't tried it yet, do so. I wear shade 54 when I'm at my darkest and 53 when I'm a little lighter.

This time around my monthly make-up picks include a whole bunch of newbies, I've been fairly experimental with a lot of products recently, but heres the low-down of my current favourites.

Lets start with the only base product, Origins VitaZing moisturiser, I've been talking about this none stop recently but that's because its pretty damn special. When I'm having a good skin day and don't fancy doing much with my make-up, I put this on to achieve a my skin but better, with an extra glow, adding colour and a very sheer coverage. It's an essential for all you lazy girls out there that are blessed with good skin!

Next up is another that I've not stopped banging on about, not just across my social media platforms but my friends and family have been getting an earful too. Since I've been exploring eyeshadows the Clinique Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for eyes in Fuller Fudge has been making it's way into my daily routine, and oh boy am I loving it. This warm brown compliments my eye perfectly and you really can't go wrong with the ease of application and effortless look it creates. I've dedicated a whole post to this, read about it here.

I've had a bit of a turn around with my brows and I've gone from using a powder to a pencil meets wax formula, meet the Tom Ford Brow Sculptor. It will be your best friend if you're looking to achieve a defined yet natural brow look. This handy product is also double ended with a brow brush which is so convenient, no fussing with a brush here. Plus, it's equiped with it's very own sharpener to make sure you keep on point for precise application. It's expensive but I'm in love - watch my video here to see my demo. To set it all together I've been using the Anastasia Clear Brow Gel, keeps it all in place without loading too much product on your brow. - which trust me, isn't a good look.

It's a really interesting read, I'm half way through and love the transformation pages the best.

Lazy Day Beauty

When I'm being forced out the door or some unexpected visitors arrive and I'm having one of those days where I really don't want to wear any make-up - I want some quick fixes that are going to emphasise what I have and give everything a little boost. I've found the best out of my stash to do so.

The first step is to even out the tone of my skin and make it look that little bit healthier, the perfect product for this? Origins Vitazing. A moisturiser that releases a sheer pigment as you blend adding slight colour, a very sheer coverage and glow. I didn't think I'd love this product as much as I do, but it's perfect and one that I turn too all the time if I'm just popping out and need a little something-something.

When it comes to my eyelashes I give them a quick curl with the Shu Uemura eyelash curlers - my eyelashes are dark-ish and long so curling them just opens my peepers to make me look more awake. With regards to brows, they just need a little taming. Once again my eyebrows are dark-ish so a quick grooming with the Anastasia Clear Brow Gel to keep it all in place is all they need. The last step is to apply the Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfector in 02. Instead of applying liberally I just dab it onto my lips to make them look a little more plump, this also adds a very light wash of peach. Plus, this smells SO good. I could eat it. All.

And there you have it, all in all it takes about two minutes and I'm left with a very natural look that just emphasises what I have, making it look like I have nothing on. Just more awake, brighter and a better looking version than my natural self, definitely leaving me feeling a little more confident.

Clinique Chubby Stick Shadow Tint For Eyes

You probably know that just recently I've been dabbling with eyeshadows and moving myself away from the liquid liner, it's hard, but it's happening people. My first taste was with the Burberry palette which you can read about here and now I've been having a play with one of the latest, and very exciting offerings from Clinique. First chubby sticks for lips, and now for eyes - genius I say!

After having a play with the Clinique Chubby Stick for Eyes I've picked my three favourite shades out of the bunch - Fuller Fudge which is a warm mid tone brown, Ample Amber which is almost like a bronze/rose gold and Lots 'o Latte which is a cool toned light brown. All beautiful shades that are extremely creamy (no dragging on the lids), easy to apply and blend - perfect if you're a newbie like me and your blending skills aren't up to scratch. I'm drawn to how effortless they look once applied - I like to apply them across my lid as well as underneath which results in that un-perfect, worn in look (which I love).

I've been wearing Fuller Fudge the most because it's warmth compliments my green eyes perfectly. My long days in London have put them to the ultimate test and it's safe to say they get 5/5 with regards to the longevity, creasing and smudge resistant. Plus, I've had quite a few compliments too, which is always a good sign.
