After this week I am closing the book on the class of 2013…I think It’s been so great getting to know you all and your families as well. Niki came to me as a referral and we headed out on windy Memorial Day weekend to do her photos and while it was chillier than we would have liked, the cloudiness actually made the colors of her outfits and our surroundings just pop even more. Here are a few of our favorites! Good luck next year and in the years to come Niki…btw…she’s going to be a famous Doctor one day…you just wait and see

Coon Rapids, HS Senior Portraits {Haley – Class of 2013}

This year I decided to try something new and sent out a direct mail piece to over 1000 household, to help spread the word about my photography business. Because of this I reached some families who otherwise would not have heard about me! I’m so glad I did or I would not have met this fabulous family. AND Haley is actually the first senior I’ve photographed from Coon Rapids HS BONUS! When we met and talked about what type of photo she wanted it was right in line with my style. She also decided to try out my new session package the Experience which includes Hair and Makeup. I didn’t find out until after the fact when she told me how pleased she was with everything that Haley was very nervous about having someone do her hair and makeup on this big day. I think it’s something that everyone worries about, what if I don’t like it, what if she makes me look like a different person? BUT she said she was so relieved when she was done and happy about how it turned out. She’s even going to write up a testimonial for me to use to ease other girls minds as well!

Today Haley and her family came over and we went through her GORGEOUS images to pick out and order some of her favorites. We had a hard time narrowing it down because did I mention she is GORGEOUS?!?

Seriously fun time! That’s what we had during Brit’s senior portrait session. Most guys are like, “eh whatever I’ll get my pics taken for my mom” and not that Brit was any different but he definitely had fun with it. We did some goofy poses just for fun and joked around the whole time. Brit loves Hockey so we headed to one of the rinks he literally grew up in and took some fun hockey pics too. It was a great time! He and his mom came over tonight for his ordering session and we had a great time going through his photos and picking out his favorites. Here are a few to share with you all. Good luck next year Brit, and I look forward to seeing you on the ice!

Part 2! LOL Yep that’s right! We had to split up McKenzie’s senior session into two different days because of…you guessed it, the WEATHER!!!

Today her and her mom came over for their ordering session and we went through all the photos from both sessions. I have to say I don’t think there was a bad one in the bunch! Here are a few of our favorites.

Class of 2013 is nearly coming to a close…can you believe it?!? Rachel and her mom called me in early April and of course because of weather AGAIN, had to be rescheduled and moved to a nicer day. And what a beautiful day it was! I feel like a broken record when I saw this every time, but this Rachel and her mom were so nice and we had a great time. I loved that Rachel was barefoot in almost all her pics, partly because she couldn’t find the shoes she wanted to wear haha, but it just seemed to fit her perfectly! Such a beautiful girl, good luck next year at UMD!

I feel like I have known Bridgette forever, even though it’s only been a few years. I met her back in 2011 when her cousin Alyssa was one of my FIRST senior spokesmodels. She got to tag along to her mini-shoot, so when it came to be her turn the next year as one of my spokesmodels she was an old pro! We did Bridgette’s first mini-shoot last spring, remember that last year when it was super warm, early? Well of course this year was a different story and because the weather didn’t cooperate with us we got to meet up a few different times this ‘spring’

I’m pretty sure there was still snow on the ground or if there wasn’t, it had JUST melted. But for our shoot last week it was a BEAUTIFUL day! Sunny, not real windy, and warm. And to top it off her mom (who is my awesome hair stylist, let me know if you need someone!) has a client who has this fabulous old car who was so nice to let us use it for our shoot. We were a little nervous to touch it…that’s how nice it is!

Overall it was a fantastic day and we had a blast…not to mention got some beautiful photos! Enjoy!

Sorry Bridgette! Your mom and I outnumbered you on this one I think this is stunning!

Jessica is another one of my class of 2013 seniors! And because of this crazy weather we’ve had this spring is another one who has been rescheduled a few times But it was worth the wait! The day we went out was just gorgeous, beautiful colors starting, warm (that’s always a plus!) and some great sunshine and sunset.

It’s been a busy few weeks with the weather finally getting nice out and I have another busy couple of weeks coming up as well with some current Class of 2013 Seniors.

Calvin and his parents came over tonight for his premier ordering session. Last week we had a chilly, but fun, session in the evening. Calvin (like most guys) aren’t really huge on getting their photos taken, but but I think I made it pretty fun…right? Take a peak at some of our favorite photos from his session.

I think we can safely say (and I say this with my fingers and my toes crossed!) that spring is finally upon us! Remember back to a few weeks ago when we had that one nice week (and then it snowed AGAIN!?!)? Well I took advantage of that weekend. Katie had a fun weekend of nice weather and well…fun! Friday night was Anoka’s Prom and some great weather for it and then Saturday she headed over to my place with her mom and friend Emily to get her hair and make-up done by my fabulous make-up artist Jamie! While there we chatted and went through all her outfit choices (which were all chosen at the last minute right girls? heehee). And then we headed out for the good stuff! We had just gorgeous weather that day, I couldn’t have asked for anything better. And apparently the nice weather brings out the snakes in downtown Anoka? LOL Yep that’s right we actually encountered a snake. No don’t worry it wasn’t slithering wildly around the alleyways, but there was someone walking through the alley with said snake around his shoulders. Definitely something you don’t see everyday! Overall I had a great time with them all.

SO MUCH FUN! Jessie and her mom came over a few days ago for their premier ordering session (I know I’m behind!) and we had so much fun. Almost as much fun as we had taking her photos! We headed downtown Anoka for Jessie’s photos and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day, 70′s and not a cloud in the sky! She was stunning in all her photos! Good luck in fall Jessie!
