We are all super moms! seriously. Raise your hand if you have stretched your arm beyond conceivable reach to get the toy that fell in the car, or read an extra bedtime story (or two or three), or changed a dirty diaper without gagging (or bragging), or made dinner while holding a baby on your hip, or made a boo boo better with your kiss. Somehow, we manage to get the kids awake, dressed, and fed, faces clean, hair and teeth brushed, with homework, lunches, jackets, and tied shoelaces out the door, kissed and hugged and to school on time every morning!

In recognition of Super Moms everywhere, here’s a free printable Weekly Menu Planner to help us be even more super…if that’s even possible! I’ll admit that I am not the most organized person, so I usually end up running to the store at least 4 times a week for this and that so I can make a dinner that I, of course, do not have all the ingredients for. Hopefully this Weekly Menu Planner will help me just make one good trip. I made this so I (and you) can cut off the grocery list portion to take to the store and put the menu portion on the fridge. I am thinking I will save the used menu plans for when we are in a food rut and need ideas…or for recycling a whole week’s menu plan to save the time for creating one from scratch!

Little cupid { Valentine’s Day mini session with my son}

The other day, Kyle asked me when we could *make* a bow and arrow. I thought for a minute and realized that I know nothing about how to make a bow and arrow, and furthermore deemed it an unsafe endeavor all around. So my answer was, “probably never.” Then I was looking on pinterest and got the idea to make a non-functioning cupid bow and arrow. He was so excited and helped me find the perfect sticks and tie them together. I love this little cupid. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Getting ready in the morning with a little girl is quite different than trying to get ready with 2 little boys. The Infamous Jiffy Cornbread Mix Incident of 2010 has made me scared to leave anyone out of sight while taking shower. The boys are a little older, but I still rarely attempt a shower while they are in the house and conscious unless Cody is home. These days I take my shower while the boys are at school. Annabelle hangs out in the bathroom, brushes her teeth, tries on my shoes, gets into the little box of old jewelry I have for her in the cabinet. She stands on a chair next to me and digs in my makeup bag as I put on my makeup. I loved the moment we were having putting on lipstick together so snapped a self-timer picture yesterday to capture her sweetness.

What to Wear…Coordinated Family | Castle Hills, Lewisville, Texas Photographer

It is not easy getting the whole family to look coordinated for a family photo. I can help with that. The yellow in the example below could be substituted for any color, depending on the look you want. Notice the use of layers to add interest and personality. The other great thing about layers, is we can have some on for some shots and off for others. I could put a navy cardigan over the girl’s dress for some shots, or remove mom’s scarf in some, for example. Don’t stress. Make it *you*! We are going to have fun!

All the clothing in this example is from Gap, Old Navy, and Banana Republic.

A quick funny about Barrett: Before Christmas, Barrett said to me, “Oh man! I forgot to tell Santa something I wanted!” I asked what it was he forgot. He said (and I’m not kidding), “I forgot to tell Santa I want an Air Guitar!” Bwah ha ha ha!

My mom asked me to do her Christmas cards again this year (Thanks for always having faith in me, Mom). She wanted to do something more playful and relaxed and she wanted everyone in pajamas. So we just piled everyone on the bed and I shot, bribed, and shot some more. Afterwards, my mom left convinced that we would have to try again another day (Umm…what about having faith in me?) We did not do another shoot and I think her cards turned out awesome! I might be a little jealous.

She got Christmas cards and I got some great pictures of my mom with my kids that we will all treasure.

Very exciting news! One of my images has been chosen to be part of a photography book called Laughter.

Here’s a picture of my image in the book and then the image itself.

These are my boys a couple years ago. I love it because it reminds me of Lenny in Of Mice and Men loving little animals so much he squishes ‘em! I got some good pictures that day of the boys smiling at the camera, but this one is by far my favorite from that day!

I went to Houston last weekend to visit my good friend from high school and we ended up having an impromptu photo session. Good thing I had my camera!
