The Three Types of People: Bag, Basket and Barn

I believe there are three types of people, Firstly there are the Bag people — those with a poverty spirit, always in lack. Secondly, there are the Basket people those whose minds have been set free but not continually renewed by God's Word, so there is merely sufficiency. Lastly, there are the Barn people — those who have allowed God's Word to renew and transform their Mind-skin to a wealthy Mind-skin. They are not just making money, but creating wealth.

Let us outline it for clarity:

1. THE BAG MIND-SKIN: NOT ENOUGH - poverty spirit

Haggai 1:6

You eat, but do not have enough; you drink, but you are not filled with drink; you clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; and he who earns wages, earns wages to put into a bag with holes.

2. THE BASKET MIND-SKIN: ENOUGH - mind that is set free, but not renewed

Deuteronomy 28:4-6

"Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks. 5Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. 6Blessed shall be you when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.

3. THE BARN MIND-SKIN: MORE THAN ENOUGH -mind that is set free and continually renewed. Programmed to not only make money, but to create wealth.

Deuteronomy 28:8 (NIV)

The Lord will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to...

The spirit of poverty is more than a lack of money, People with wealth can have the spirit of poverty, I have seen poor people who have a Barn Mind-skin—wealthy mind set; and I have seen wealthy people with a Bag poverty spirit. People who are never satisfied and hoard demonstrate a Bag Mind-skin-poverty spirit. A poverty spirit says, "l can't" and a Barn Mind-skin says, "God can." A poverty spirit feels weak, and a Barn Mind-skin feels strong. Revelations 2:9 (NIV) says we can be in physical poverty, yet still be rich.

Children with high intelligence but with a Bag Mind-skin will continue to have poor grades. Children have to be taught to move from a Bag Mind-skin, to a Basket Mind-skin, and finally to a Barn Mind-skin—in order to improve their grades. When looking for a church, a Bag Mind-skin looks for any church to attend, A Basket Mind-skin looks for the 'best’ church which meets one's needs. A Barn Mind-skin looks for God's presence in the church and the 'best' is not the issue. When Jesus died on the cross, a Bag Mind-skin says, "We are worthless before God." A Basket Mind-skin works to become worthy, A Barn Mind-skin says, "We are already valuable to God." When looking at God, a Bag Mind-skin says, "Sinner." A Basket Mind-skin says, "Servant," A Barn Mind-skin says, "Son."

When dealing with material goods, a Bag Mind-skin hoards, a Basket Mind-skin lives to shop, a Barn Mind-skin lives to give.

When understanding time, a Bag Mind-skin lives in the past, and survives one day at. a time, A Basket Mind-skin lives in the present. A Barn Mind-skin lives for eternity, makes history and blesses the next generation. When praying, a Bag Mind-skin prays to survive, a Basket Mind-skin prays to succeed and a Barn Mind-skin prays to bless.

When having a worldview, a Bag Mind-skin thinks their local world is the center of the world. A Basket Mind-skin thinks nationally. A Barn Mind-skin thinks internationally. When believing in the supernatural acts of God, a Bag Mind-skin says, "Not," a Basket Mind-skin says, "Might," and a Barn Mind-skin says, "Why not!"

The reasons for continuing with a poverty spirit are complex: cultural, family upbringing, generational, and/or emotional woundedness. There are no easy steps to move from the spirit of poverty to the wealthy spirit. For the children of Israel, it was 40 years of wandering in the desert to be rid of this mindset. God wants us have a Barn Mind-skin, a mind that creates wealth, and wealth is more than just money. May you uncover some of the lies that the enemy has been using to hold you back and may you move forward into the truths of God. Developing a Barn Mind-skin will allow you to grow into the person God created you to be.

Does tithing 10% will solve all financial problem?

Another myth that some Christians believed that Tithing and Trusting in Jesus will solve all your financial problems because your responsibility is over and now you just need to sit back and watch God work.

The church is full of believers who Tithe and Trust in Jesus, yet they have financial lack. I know so many people who do not tithe at all and are in financial problem. I know businesses that do not tithe and are in financial debt. So there is a frustration because on both sides there is lack and bondage.

A person could be a tither but that does not mean his financial responsibilities are over. Your financial Circumstances depend on three things.

Spending

Following God's timing for purchases, being mindful of the priorities, learning to plan your spending, and not just living on impulse-buying mode. Impulse-buying and pride-motivated purchasing can paralyze your chances for prosperity.

Romans 13:8

Owe no one anything except to love one another.

Saving

The discipline of planning ahead.

Proverbs 6:6

Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise

Sowing

Planting seeds of offering. This is taking a percentage of the money after we have tithed the 10% and sowing for a greater harvest. The Scriptures say, “...He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully also reap bountifully” (2 Corinthians 9:6). One of the ways to break the spirit of debt is to sow seeds, the borrower is servant to the lender- (Proverbs 22:7).

God promises abundance to the obedient. Malachi 3 says that the reward for obedience in sowing our finances into His work is that the windows of Heaven are opened! Start giving regularly, liberally, and with expectation! The amount and attitude determine your Harvest. "Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you." (Luke 6:38)

I would suggest the following:

1. Determine To Get Debt-Free

Romans 13:8

Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.

2. Study The Methods Of Others Who Have Already Achieved Financial Success

Proverbs 24:6

For by wise counsel you will wage your own war, and in a multitude of counselors there is safety.

3. Activate the Principles Of Tithing And Seed-Faith

Luke 6:38

Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.

Even the Pharisees were commended by Jesus for tithing.

Matthew 23:23

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith, These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone

Freedom from a spirit of poverty

A prosperous soul is a soul that is free from a poverty spirit. I realize that not everyone is familiar with this terminology. Poverty, according to the dictionary, is the state of lacking sufficient money or material

possessions. A spirit of poverty is much more than just the lack of funds or possessions. It is a spirit, a force that enslaves men and women. It becomes their mind set, the reason why they live the way they do.

Call it a 'spirit' because there is a negative spiritual influence that appears more as a pattern which is ingrained into our thinking. It is like someone who puts on a green pair of sunglasses. If a person puts on sunglasses with green color, then everything he or she sees would be green. In the same manner a person with a poverty spirit sees and acts differently and is unaware that he or she has one. They see the world through the glasses of poverty. Either they say or their actions say for them, “I am poor. I will always be poor, and there is nothing I can do about it...."

Your job is not a God’s punishment, do not let it define your life

I remember before I was a jobless and applied for job to make money, at first, all I want is just a job for me to make money and buy things I want, Then I got job and later when I feel tired sometimes I usually complain to my salary, ‘does a minimum pay is enough for me to do this work?’ so it makes me lazy and not doing work properly. But thanks God for he gave me the wisdom to love my job.

Is your job is solely for the purpose of 'putting bread on the table'?.

That is a very common belief system. Usually when someone says that, what they are also saying is, "l don't like what I'm doing but it pays the bills and I'm going to do 'something real' later in life." That 'something real' probably refers to God's call to ministry. The book of Proverbs has a very harsh response to this. It says, you are, in a sense, prostituting your labor.

Consider these words from the Book of Proverbs:

Proverbs 6:26

For by means of a harlot a man is reduced to a crust of bread; and an adulteress will prey upon his precious life.

To the harlot, her work is only a 'loaf of bread,' or in today's language, a 'meal ticket.' The intimate, physical relationship between a man and his wife should be a beautiful thing. The prostitute, however, does not regard her 'work' in this light; it is simply a way of 'putting bread on the table.'

There is a great deal of confusion regarding the relationship of a Christian's priorities to the expenditure of his or her time. Most Christians believe that their priorities should fall in this order: God, family, church, and, last of all, employment. If employment is one's lowest priority and yet consumes most of a person's waking energies, is this not unspiritual? No wonder the many hours one spends in secular employment is often viewed as wasted time. No wonder people hate Monday mornings.

Your job is not God's punishment. Your job is not even for getting money. Your job is a door for you to release your purpose and potential. I understand the job is not the calling, but the job is an instrument that helps you carry out your calling. A mechanic may have tools that help him change a set of spark plugs but if those tools break or get stolen, he gets another set so he can get back to work. So do not look at the job and let it define your life. Look at the purpose of God and see your job or business as an outlet for you to release the deposit of God. When you say I am starting a business to make money, then your priority is wrong. Money is not the purpose of business. Money is the fruit of it. The purpose of business is to release God's purpose and potential in your life. It would entail meeting the needs of people through the invention of ideas, concepts, strategies, products, goods, and services; those things that God has put in your life to bless people and glorify Him.

Now that I loved my job, I just add a note in front of my computer for me to inspire everyday it says;

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men. Col. 3:23 and until now that I’m typing I still reading it, I hope this post will inspire you to love your job and may the good Lord bless you. So lets thank God for the next Monday. God Bless

Ministry vs. Occupation: What is more important?

What do you think as a Christians more important is it the ministry or the occupation? Here are is one of a distorted belief of Pastor Nick that he believed and he was taught it and He ignorantly believed it. If you do not have a proper biblical, healthy Mind-skin regarding this things then everything you do in life will be affected. Your Mind-ski must be sourced in the Word of God.

Does Ministry is more important than your occupation?

I remembered when I was 15 years old and sitting in a meeting where the preacher was telling a story of how he was working and making lots of money in his business and how it was multiplying but then he gave it all up and now he was doing something more important which was preaching. He ended his message by challenging everyone to do the Lord's work and by that he primarily meant preaching and working in a local church. That day really left me in pieces. I know there are people whom God has called to do that because up till that time they were just doing whatever their hands found to do, until they suddenly discovered their God given assignment, but this was not that case. He was pushing the fact which left people feeling that if they are not preaching and doing something in a local church, they were second class citizen.

Some people have traveled around the world and have met people who consistently have thought of themselves as second-class citizens in the Kingdom of God. Often they view their occupations as being spiritually fruitless and frustrating. I cannot emphasize too strongly that such thinking is deplorable, because it is unbiblical. When somebody preaches, we call them 'Man of God', or 'Woman of God'. If someone owns a business, well is he not a man of God too? Perhaps we just look at them as an ATM, someone who just dispenses money so that the 'Man of God'—those involved in 'full time' ministry work like pastor, evangelists—can do real work. This is so demeaning and painful.

I do not think it is a far stretch for me to say that many Christians have the impression that church workers especially evangelists, missionaries, pastors, priests, ministers and the like — have a higher calling than other workers. While there is little in the Bible to support this impression, the 'religious' — as pastor, priest, nun, etc. — is widely considered holier than the ordinary life. Regrettably, this distortion remains influential in churches of all traditions, even though in our normal conversations we affirm the equal value of the work of those outside religious institutions. In the Bible, God calls individuals both to church-related and non-church-related work.

For example, we read in Exodus that Aaron and his family were called to work in the Tabernacle, a type of a church in the Old Testament,

Exodus 28:1

Now take Aaron your brother, and his sons with him, from among the children of Israel, that he may minister to Me as priests, Aaron and Aaron's sons: Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

Then we have people like Simon and Andrew personally called by Jesus,

Mark 1:16-17

16 And as He walked by the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. 17 Then Jesus said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

We also have those who were not called to religious work as we would use the term; people like Moses and Joshua were both primarily military or political leaders, not cultic or religious leaders. They were both exceptionally close to God, but that did not make them religious leaders. Rather it showed that God calls people from all walks of life. We had Nehemiah who was a cupbearer to the king, we had Joseph who worked in the government of Egypt. We had Solomon who was a king, an inventor, a writer, a poet, etc. God calls people in different walks of life, including business. I want to affirm you by saying that non-church work like running a business is as much 'full-time Christian service' as church work. We are commanded in Colossians 3:23, "And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.”
