Let me get one thing straight right away; this post isn't really about Google at all. Google's just part of my larger point. Answer this one question: What are the sources of all of your knowledge? Consider your sources when you think you are wise. What if everything you thought you knew was a lie? We believe Google knows everything...but who makes Google? Last I thought, it was God who knows everything! One thing He told us for certain is to know that we are not on this earth for the here and now because this is temporary. We are living for the next life, eternity. This world IS coming to an end and while we do not want to give into hype and fanaticism about WHEN, we can't neglect that we SHOULD be WATCHING daily! Do not get caught up in false popular beliefs & all of your day-to-day obligations to the point where you forget this truth and its significance!

Accountability and Influence

Good morning! This is my first time blogging on a bus. I just had something on my mind for a while now. Do you feel responsible for the way your actions influence others to think, feel and behave? I do. I realize that not everyone has the same convictions whenever I engage in day-to-day conversation. Take a moment to think of someone else and what you are doing to better or worsen their future (which is now, as they say, after all) with the things you are just doing for yourself. What means nothing to you could be life or death for someone else. Today, let's live intentionally and be responsible and accountable for our influence. The only time I ever care what people think of me negatively is when I am concerned their false belief will lead them astray. We have power to leave a positive impact and that should be one of our main focuses as believers, not controlling people but taking control over what we give the public to believe about ourselves. I'm not talking about image; I mean influence and taking each moment you can today and every day to make sure you are being that light and salt of the earth.

Work of the Lord and us, His children: Love

Qualifications, Requirements, Responsibilities
You have to have the love of Him in you in order to give it. If you love Him, you obey His statutes/commandments. Be led of the Spirit. To love is to abide, cover/protect/nurture, come in agreement with/unite/connect, forgive, cast out fear, train up and even chastise when necessary/appropriate. It also means you want the best for another and support them. You give your last piece of bread to them when they need it because you consider them over yourself. You are flexible in your plans in order to assist them. If you have an enemy and they say bad things about you, you don't get in their face, you turn and ignore and say a silent prayer for them. Even if someone doesn't ask you to do anything for them, you cheerfully anticipate the ways you can make the day a little brighter for someone else. Always giving, meaning you think nothing of a reward when making these voluntary gestures. Never critical but always honest. You sympathize. You empathize. No one is a stranger. You don't tempt or pressure or play games with someone in order to persuade or convince them (trick them) into doing something just to benefit you, especially something wrong. You are grateful for all you have and are comfortable congratulating others, never envying. You communicate openly (holding nothing back, harboring no resentment, listening), respectfully, often. Rejoice over righteousness and truth; there is no glory in wrongdoing. You stand firm through the thick and thin and hold true to Him and all you say you love. Know no limits. Conquer all. Fulfill promises. Build functional, lasting relationships. Show honor. Preach the gospel throughout the earth and make disciples. Visit inmates. Be welcoming and hospitable. Clothe the needy. Help and heal the sick. Promote peace. Speak life. Be an example and a pillar, as the light and salt of the earth. Take the time to be a friend. Give so[me]one a job...(LOL).

Know the Father. Value is given to what may have been shiny but was meaningless without love. Bring a brother (spiritual brother, or sister, not only your genetic family) to Christ. Experience true love, in its full capacity, not simply the worldly definition of what love is. Cover a multitude of sins. Have a family. Have peace. Break strongholds. Grow in the faith. Resist the wiles of the devil. Have life and joy. Come out on top! Keep faith and hope. Gain true friends. Overcome evil with good. Experience miracles. Be rewarded by God. Be a better you. Be wise. Have strong foundations, the strongest. Assurance of salvation. Walk in the light. Be like Jesus. Gives a new meaning to forever. Teaches others how to love. Teaches others they can be loved. Freedom. Guidance. Trust and trustworthiness. Passion and purpose. Forgiveness (because you can't be forgiven unless you forgive). Grace. Beauty for ashes redemption and restoration. Fulfill promises. Share in glory. Fulfill the law. Defeat pain and suffering with power of holiness. Experience God's love and become instruments of His love to a lost and loveless world. Progress in the world but most of all, progress in the kingdom. Long life and daily needs met. Being loved back. They help confirm that our faith is not in vain. Confidence and answered prayer.

To abide in love is to abide in God, and to abide in God is to abide in love. This is the secret of victorious Christian living! But is it the secret of your life?

Rejoice in flesh/physical/worldly, rather than spirit. Sow seeds of doubt. Torture, tempt, torment and taunt. Be selfish, critical and backstabbing. Watch someone suffer and do nothing to help, in fact, be glad. Condemn. Broaden the road with generalizations and obscure, loosened standards. Choose favorites and put people against one another. Lie and deceive, including lies of omission (leaving stuff out, sugarcoating, white lies). Skew perspective of purpose, value & truth and lead people to bargain/compromise over what they should not. Never allow unity. Speak curses and doom. Spew hatred. Instill fear. Mislead. Feast on evil. Go into open doors and break things. Hunt and chase down prey. Create distractions. Cloud emotions and thoughts and judgments. Instigate. Turn the focus on self. Boast. Walk about like a roaring lion, seeking whom you may devour. Put others down/discourage and gossip. Cause mayhem and confusion. Oppress. Live wickedly, in darkness and death. Build strongholds. Rebel, sin, disobey, disrespect. Pint fingers and blame. Reinforce dread.

Now, we know love is the best work but is also a lot of work, so much that we can believe that the enemy often does a way better job with his agenda than we do ours but never more than God. For it is written, Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. Let us be wise, not blame our spouses, children and workloads for our negligence. This is not a time to follow everyone else like you don't already know better. It's time to be there for your kids and families, time to make things right. It is the little things that make a person lose their footing. You can't be too tired to do right. You can't be doing right UNTIL so & so did you wrong. No, do right all the time! If we can't be real with our own selves about our actions, mistakes, attitudes and intentions, we can't do anything for anybody else. While we are all into our own selves, the enemy doesn't want to take just one person out...the devil would like nothing better than to tear down a whole family though losing that one person...that's his victory, not one lost soul but affecting all hose people that person influences because one person doing the right thing can influence everything to go the right way. Stop looking for excuses! Don't tell people right from wrong and then go and do wrong. You know better; do better! Let us keep hope. Without hope, what do we have? Do you feel like you and/or your family's in hell already? Are they and/or you dead, spiritually? If yes, even so, you all are not a lost cause. As long as a person has breath, they can receive that new beginning, this redemption most people don't fully understand about, the freedom many shrug off because they don't believe they need...I know I'm not perfect but I know I've met Jesus...in a real way, just only spiritually since we are still in this world...I did nothing special to have that...I had the same doubts and confusions as any human, but I knew what I knew and that was that He is real. They have to stay in your prayers and be exposed to real love and truth, outside of what they've been taught by the streets, society, media. See, it's the same Spirit (Holy Spirit) that captures all our hearts...if anyone can be saved, that means you all can.

Wisdom in a Dream - Submission, Obedience, Guilt

A lot of ppl are going around thinking they're not loved bcuz it's not being shown in the way they think it must be shown.
A lot of ppl are living with tons of guilt every day, unnecessarily. They feel useless.
A lot of ppl are walking around judgmentally & critical of others.They never consider others.
A lot of ppl are down and out, lost and dazed and confused, not knowing where they belong or even who they are, or, more importantly, whose they are.
All because our eyes are closed and we do not know what it means to submit, to obey, to respect, nope, we do not do those. We even get offended at the very idea, at the very sound of it.
The wisest man to have ever lived gained his wisdom in a dream (1 Kings :4-13). Then, he heard about the importance, significance and power of obedience: Verse 14 says, And if you walk in my ways and obey my statutes and commands as David your father did, I will give you a long life."
This king with authority, power, responsibility and all of the wisdom in the world still had to submit to and obey God. Why would we think it is okay for us to not and why would we find a problem with submitting to (respecting) our spouses, whom we vow to commit to for life? Why would we think it is okay to disrespect one another? Let us value one another in he way Solomon did in verses 8 and 9: Your servant is here among the people you have chosen, a great people, too numerous to count or number. So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours?"
Because, even if we do not literally govern others, we must govern ourselves accordingly and are still in the presence of great people God has chosen to be here, in our lives, homes, schools, communities and churches. So, let us have a godly mind, communication and consideration for one another in all of our actions and interactions.

Nobody knows what to say

Everyone has responsibilities. Everyone has struggles. We all fight to make it through each and every day.
Nobody knows what to say about death (including miscarriage and abortion), heartache, marriage (and its almost-inevitable counterpart, divorce), unemployment/economic crises, abuse in all of its forms, immigration, affording a home, government spending/debts, the military, politics and policies, corruption in the workplace, poor customer service and scarce personal contact when seeking customer service, disabilities/handicaps, illness, law enforcement, state vs. federal, safety vs. security vs. privacy vs. personal freedom and rights vs. advanced technological influences, etc.

These issues affect us all but we all respond differently and do not know what to say to others about the situations when it hits them or even to explain ours if we feel the need to share with someone. What words will comfort or reassure you? What words will motivate you? What knowledge do you need? What encouragement would actually be very unhelpful? This is different for everyone; I've met some seemingly expert communicators, still, it all comes down to the way we compartmentalize things. If, in your mind, everything has a condition, truth is relative and that is where the ultimate deception/confusion begins. Some things need to be black and white, wrong or right, etc. and I believe it should be these most important things, essential to the healthy growth of our families and the communities we live in. Instead, the little things take our attention and we suffer where it matters most.

Suddenly, your ministry is meaningless as well as your church attendance but you make time to send a check in once a month? Suddenly, our children's educational and recreational needs mean zilch but we can spend hundreds of dollars per month on fast food, jewelry and electronic devices (computers/laptops, phones, iPods)?
Suddenly, as new people are coming to know the Lord each day, some who have already known Him lose interest in godly counsel and read books by worldly celebrities that have profanity in the very title of the books? Suddenly, it doesn't really matter if someone lacks respectability, personal integrity, intelligence, common sense and a relationship with the Lord, just as long as they do everything you ask of them and serve you with a smile, making you feel good?
We, as a people, have grown dull and dumb. We show partiality with one another and when we see people, we do not see them for themselves but for what they can do for us! Those with some sense see the dirt we do but, instead of confronting, confessing and praying, we gossip and talk behind each other's backs. This solves nothing and, in fact, creates more problems, none the least of which are bitterness, distrust and division.

Let's be real, this issue starts in the home, which is why I mention situations that hit home - family, finances, etc.

We see this world drawing to a close and all I can say is,
Get your house in order and show some respect to all who paved a way for you, keeping in mind that your actions today will, not only, shape your life story but affect the lives of your children and their children as well.

Let us learn from the Garden of Eden. There were many trees but two of the trees, two of the rooted foundations that supplied fruit, were called, respectively, "Tree of Life" and "Tree of Knowledge of good and evil." If we continually choose to "take in knowledge" and indulge in self-righteousness rather than choosing grace, love, faith, redemption, imputed righteousness/justification, freedom from the law, and true life, we are dying. If you take fruit from the Tree of Life instead of from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, you are wise. It's not that knowledge is bad, either. You must know a lot if you know how to live and that's the kind of knowledge we need, not to fill up on secular intelligence. Don't be lost in the forest of this world. Stand as a tree, firmly rooted in Christ and placed in the world to grow and produce spiritual fruit.We can produce (give birth to) fruit of the Spirit when we have planted in us bear (carry) the seed of faith and seal of the Holy Spirit. What kind of seeds are you carrying? What kind of fruit are you producing? Will your harvest be beautiful?!?

When I hear some of the same songs playing everywhere and see everyone dancing to it and singing it and just enjoying it, I may get a notion to search for the lyrics...because, more times than not, most of the words are not at all easy to understand.
What I often find is that the song says NOTHING. Still, everybody seems to be loving it, blinded by a beat. They give their time, energy, thoughts, bodies (dancing) and money to this music. They feed off of it and feel energized and relevant to the time we are in. Yet, this is acting like they've been bought..by the music makers...when we've all been bought by Jesus Christ. I can't help but care what my music says. You all should as well. & this goes deeper than music because the message is about not following a trend just because it's trendy...but instead, PURPOSELY seeking to glorify God at all times.

"Off [Your] Schedule" may be His "Right On Time"

In the same way you should obey your parents but not honor their wishes if they want you to do something wrong and you know better, you should be flexible to the needs of others but know when to say no for the better. Sometimes, a car battery needs charging and you want to drive someone somewhere but if you do, you will both be walking right back once the car stops working. Sometimes, someone needs you to do a major favor for them and rudely waits until the last minute to even ask but it would still be best to say yes. Use wisdom to know when to say yes and when to say no. It is good to be able to bend your schedule for others but it is also good to make sure you are not falling into a pattern of going to others even at the wrong time even when you already know it is a bad time just because you know they will always fulfill your requests.

We all need to learn to respect one another when making requests and demands and to keep in mind that, no matter where you go, there will be someone who requires something of you that you may not necessarily feel like you should have to give but still should.

Joyce Meyer said, "Every miracle Jesus did, He did when He was on His way somewhere and got interrupted by somebody."

I was recently watching some show, maybe The Cosby Show, and a character said, "Oh, I don't mind being disturbed. Life is full of disturbances."

Still,

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28 KJV)

What a lesson to learn, to never think that being put off of your schedule means that you are not on His schedule. There is something great to do at every turn for the kingdom, whether you planned on it or not. & I'm convinced that if we stay in tune with God and pray without ceasing, we will come to know when something's coming

The Duggars May or May not be Quiverfull but here's what I have to say

The blog, No Longer Quivering, is about one woman's desire to shed light on all things Quiverfull, as she was a member and now feels like she's escaped (the movement and lifestyle as a whole as well as the abuse often incurred). I found her when I was searching for stuff on if the Duggars ever went to Sight & Sound theaters. I did not find anything saying they had but did find a lot of criticism of their family and accusations that they are Quiverfull. That is not what I really want to talk about, though, because I have no information on that. What I wanted to speak on is that her website also has a poll asking the following question:

Do you personally know of a man who became a better husband as a result of his wife's submissive behavior?

Yes ~ I have seen it happen.I have never personally witnessed such a transformation, but I still believe it is possible.No ~ this is an evil myth which destroys husband/wife relationships.

There are 4,212 votes and 3,100 (about 74%) voted for that last choice.

I find that people who are outside of situations become increasingly angry, bitter and hostile in their ASSUMPTIONS based off of their own poor relationships and experiences. If a wife is submissive to her husband, she is not simply dumb, archaic or doing it to make him feel better and change for the better! Some do feel as if, that is their duty and if they follow in it, he has to follow suit...eventually. Yet, how about the fact that, just because one person is outside of their spousal role does not mean the other should change to suit them, neither to be submissive nor to dominate! If you want to be a submissive wife and your husband is a jerk, don't have a belief that changing yourself to meet them is any better than staying true to yourself and expecting them to change. And, don't judge submission as weakness. We all come in different personalities and therefore, have different ways of expressing ourselves in our marital relationships. What's respectful and respectable with your spouse can be unheard of and unacceptable to someone else.Submission looks different on every wife but if the Bible says its right, I believe that no matter what form its shaped in, it looks GOOD on every wife.
I, too, have seen many abusive and seemingly pointless marriage relationships that are just contradictions and an oxymoron where one person tolerates certain things from their spouse that they should not do and would not if they knew how to get away or if they believed they should leave. They waste years thinking they have to stick it out and submit but see no change. You did make vows but submit does not mean shut up and sit down and serve me out of obligation. It means to love and cherish and it means do not be a doormat but be willing to sacrifice when times come.

I agree with some of the comments on the poll, such as the one below, except that it takes the position of submission being synonymous with having low self-esteem! It reads:

A fourth option would have been nice. I've never seen it, and I don't believe it's possible for wifely submission to improve the husband, but I think it is possible for it not to destroy the relationship. My mom was all about wifely submission when I was young - little surprise, raised as she was with abuse and domination in everything. But my dad wouldn't have it. He let her know he needed her support, and her opinions, whether he agreed with them or not. What's a good submissive wife to do, when her husband wants her to speak her mind?!

My mom still defers to dad's opinion a lot, will second-guess herself, and constantly apologizes when things aren't perfect - to the point that it actually frustrates dad, because he's not expecting perfect. But she does make decisions, and do her own things, and enjoy herself without worrying if she's allowed to. My dad's a rare person, and he helped heal a lot of my mom's wounds from her childhood. I wish there were more people like him, and I hope I'm half as good as he is."

A little more that I found on my Duggar search was a blog post on Alternet. A clip of itreads:

Why is it that we do not know that the Bible said this way beforehand? Before any of these books were written and statements were made!

On that note, I have one last statement based off of a silly comment I saw under on one of the posts I read that day. Here goes:

It's "funny" to me that people like to say that women in the adult film industry are strong and independent. Yeah, independent of smarts & a heart. Yeah, strong enough to not care when you rip theirs out. Ha, selfish jerks will look for any means to promote their selfish desires being fulfilled and not even see themselves for how silly they are! I don't want to sound arrogant but let me say, the two worlds we live in (physical/carnal and spiritual/heavenly) are never clearer to me than when you see respect for family and love being attacked versus respect for selfishness and illicit sex.

Beth Sheeran - Freedom of Speech on College Campuses

Beth Sheeran was a nursing student at Spokane Falls Community College in 2008 when she spearheaded an effort by a Christian club on campus to sponsor a pro-life event. She had almost completed the extensive preparations when she learned the college was shutting down the event. Her determination to know why brought her face-to-face with the sometimes absurd objections of the faculty and administrators (“Washington is a pro-choice state, and we can’t use school grounds for a pro-life display.”) and their very real determination to silence free speech on campus. She and other club members were threatened with expulsion, should they so much as hand out flyers with pro-life themes.
Realizing that “the abuse of authority would also shut doors to the Gospel,” and worried that fear for their education might keep many Christian students from speaking the truth, Beth reluctantly decided to file a suit against the school district whose policies were being enforced at Spokane Falls and other colleges and universities throughout the area. The Alliance Defense Fund represented her, and the district soon settled the case, agreeing to change its restrictive speech policies and restore the First Amendment protections of all students.

Understand what "instead" means - He was us and we are Him

I had a crazy dream this week. Well, I have a crazy dream every night but this one was right in with the rest of the crazies. Either way, I had a big moment upon awakening, something I already knew was explained further:
Jesus died as us. He was us. He is us if we are in Him. He became all that we were inside, the plague that is sin and the condemnation, even though He was still Himself, He literally was Christina and everyone else who has turned to Him for salvation. He stood up for us as us, to redeem us and grab justice by its throat, even though it included suffering blows in our stead!
If we believe that He lived as us and died for us, we can believe that we can live as He lived before He died and even more with the knowledge that He has overcome the world and we each have a call to ministry..we can live as we should have always lived and prepare to live even better in the next life since we believe He lives again.

What seeds are being planted when you have an argument with your parents? When you slander against a neighbor? What ideas, suggestions and frames of thought are being formed when you allow your heart to be infiltrated by evil devices? When you let an inch result in a mile being taken? When the depths of your soul are bombarded by a mass of secular influences due to the people you wish to impress, not with the glory of God but with how great you can be solo? You don't live alone; God made today and woke you up in it. Let us choose our steps with the knowledge that He has paved a way...and it doesn't go against His Word.

I heard it said, by James Robison, "If the devil can't get you to do wrong, he'll try to get you to do right wrong and you miss out on the best things doing good things."

As much as we do, we could do better if we took the time to do things purposefully, especially in the way we communicate.

For Tired Eyes

Here's the sample article I wrote for my Examiner application. I applied to them a year ago but they didn't accept but this time, I've become an Examiner!

Families are often too on-the-go to realize how backwards they've gotten, how far they've fallen off-course and simply, how tired they have become. Running on auto-pilot is what some call it. You're never really "there." You follow through with the motions of every day life, completing routine tasks, never with any passion or heart or even a second thought as to what you're doing. Your relationships suffer. Your health deteriorates. And that's just the beginning of your problems. The demands of life have gotten to you. Wanna change that? Keep reading!

Do you have to stay up with children at night? When a child is sick or cranky or you never got around to helping them do their homework while the sun was still out, this can easily disrupt your sleep pattern, unless you've prepared for it. Don't prepare yourself to live backwards but prepare yourself for unexpected mishaps by staying on-course in other areas. Not only will your schedule be thrown off if you do not adhere to a plan but your being thrown off will put you on a brand new plan of bad scheduling.

Remember to keep yourself rested, hydrated and calm at all times. Instead of contemplating popping pills or dreaming of going to a spa, think of the things that a good few hours of sleep can cure. It's amazing just how much significance sleep holds in life. No more walking around like a zombie, not fully living life because of lack of sleep. If you don't sleep right, your hormonal balance will be off, too. Went to bed late and found yourself craving doughnuts first thing in the morning? There's a biological explanation for that! Falling asleep in a dark room at an appropriate hour sets you up for healthy eating the next day, rather than cravings. What's worst about a sweet tooth is that indulging shoots your blood sugar up and then makes it crash back down in a couple of hours, which surely doesn't help with any of the issues you already have! Staying balanced is far better. Speaking of balance, don't just drink when you are thirsty. Some people still wonder how in the world they are told that they should drink eight whole cups of water per day. Well, in actuality, being thirsty is a sign of dehydration. Don't be dehydrated; find a balance. Don't overdo it with the drinking but don't wait until you're dying to try water. After all, you probably drink things that dehydrate you further, like coffee, due to its caffeine. Even if coffee has water, you can afford to drink something besides coffee all day; no more excuses that you're "no good without your coffee." Your family needs you with or without caffeine! Then, staying calm is important because being tense creates a tension that need not be. There is enough stress in life, enough to pressure for you to do what you must, without you making it harder by worrying about other things beyond your control. If you have issues with someone, don't act like they killed you. Communicate, address it and move on. Nobody's perfect and we shouldn't try to control people. One of the most important things about life is our relationships, especially family!

Take the time to sit down and think about your priorities. Does your daily schedule reflect them? Do you overextend yourself on the job? Do you spend extra hours there unnecessarily, when you could be helping your child with homework or preparing a simple HOME-COOKED meal? Or, are you the type who feels the need to dust every corner before you can get out of the house? IF possible, give your kids some chores instead of doing it all yourself.

What's happening now will change. Life is all about change. The question is, are your actions making it change for the better or worse? Besides thinking about long-time goals and the baby steps to get there, also think about permanent situations versus temporary ones. As much as you work, work to stay balanced in your priorities. Remember to live one day at a time and breathe while you're alive.

This is important to me and I had to post it. Question your motives about your Christianity. It also ties in with what I wanted to ask today, What's your motivation? I was working on music and the people who I thought would be most amazed by the finished product couldn't have cared less to even see it. That put me down but I quickly got back up. See, if you are driven by Christ, you are always able to do what you need because He never changes. When you do what you do for people, you will soon see that you won't always find support or even interest in other people and if that's the one thing that kept you moving, that means you'll stop moving. Humans are humans so family and friends, like it or not, have no obligation to care about what you're doing the way you'd like them to. Instead, go to God...and trust me, He will always keep you going.

I have so many feelings LoL I'm starting driving lessons today and I've never driven before. So nervous. I need to do this and I have fought so hard to be able to. I mean, raising the money for lessons, searching for the right school, all of the nonsense I went through to get a learner's permit back in June (I won't try to relive it just to end up aggravating you with the story, too), asking my mom to teach me and still having not learned anything to this day.

I have had nightmares since ...ever...about my driving.
Either I had to drive and couldn't navigate or couldn't stop...or both. I'm sure I probably could get it started and going but what then? I wonder if they'll stop when I learn.

My uncle once showed me what different parts of a car are and what they're for but that was over ten years ago and since then, I've sat in my mother's old van and put it in reverse, slowly backing out of the driveway as she talked with a neighbor. The neighbor saw so she told my mother, so my mom caught it before I backed into the street and caused a problem. Kids are weird and I was such a kid.

Pray for me.
Not to mention there's snow on the ground and the fact that my mother is complaining about the company, asking if they're insured, legit and everything. I'm sure she's probably not even gonna harass the driver when they get here...or she might. She's funny that way.

I'm trying to do things in life that I've been wanting to get done to further myself, you know. I was trying for a first aid/aed/cpr training certification course didn't happen but this is. They never gave me the necessary info after registration as far as payment and whatnot...but, at their usual prices, I might as well have been getting driving lessons, anyhow, especially since you need to get re-certified every couple of years. There's so much I could do with a driver's license, I'd only have to be concerned with a car now. That's beside the point, though. I just need to learn and am tired of carrying a permit for nothing, after paying so much money, time and aggravation to get that. So, six lessons/$250 here I go, starting....2PM lol TY Tasheem for your tangible support...helping me finally get over that $200 slump, making phone calls this week, oh yeah and being there for that horrible permit incident.

I have to go get ready now :-)

Here's a clip of an episode of popular 90s show, Boy Meets World. It is episode 21 of season 4 and is titled, "Cult Fiction." I blogged about Boy Meets World yesterday as well, on Keeping It 100, which is a collaborative blog with my older brother. The post, titled, And now, a word from Feeny, was about knowledge of pop culture versus other knowledge. My personal opinions: I don't care much for pop culture because it changes every second anyway as a direct relation to the fact that no one else really knows what they like and want. Why follow something just because most other people think they like it...for now?
Now, here I go again, funny enough! I don't really have much to say about this; it's really just an intense hospital scene where Shawn eventually says He believes God is present and hears him..but please do watch and enjoy!

For one, they brought up an important point in segment 2 of this episode, which I haven't posted but they mention that Cory and Shawn were friends for a long time and never spoke about spiritual beliefs. That, I've found, is actually beyond common with younger people but why carry that over into adulthood? Our spiritual beliefs shape our lifestyle, our influence and our relationships. It directs our hearts and determines the way we view ourselves. Face yourself and tell me, What are yours?

More than a tradition, marriage is an invention of God

I find that many people look down on marriage, as a whole, overall. Most of those people just don't know its spiritual significance and/or were burned by a "failed marriage." I'm not just throwing out general terms. I know these people. I live with these people. They encourage young people to do anything, everything BUT get married. Oh, if marriage happens, that's fine, they'll just say bad things about it, disguised as well-wishes. Oh, but if they hear about it beforehand, they'll most likely try to stop it...that is, probably unless someone's already expecting. These people call themselves Christian. Where does this type of thinking originate, that we can always support unwed parents but should down the very idea of marriage?

I, for one, always have liked the idea of a wedding (like most people do) but that's separate from marriage. There are many reasons to marry but the ceremony/reception doesn't cut the cake to fit on that list. So, the fact that weddings cost money shouldn't be a reason not to get married, either. Second, I've spoken against the idea of committing to a selfish person and said I'd probably never want to get married & don't know how anyone could because everyone is so selfish. Yet, a few years have passed since and I've learned a bit more about relationships. Now, soon to be twenty-two years old, I can assure you that I plan to be married within the next three years. Sure, I don't really have a job, career or money at the moment and sure, I'm a fun-loving child of the millennium with no guy or ring AT THE MOMENT but none of that determines my maturity/preparedness or changes the fact that marriage can happen for me or, most importantly, that I'm not 'too young' to step into a godly covenant. After all, there are people even younger who are engaging in war with the military, even losing their lives. I am of legal age and no one's disapproval could stop me! Why would I do it, though, you ask? To be a beacon, a shining example, to provide hope to even myself that it's possible to do things the way God has designed! I am all for independence, as well, for being successful & happy as an individual, not seeking it in someone else...but at the same time, we're not in this world alone and no one ever really accomplishes ANYTHING by themselves. Sure, we are born alone and die alone, too but in living, we need one another. After all, that's what He said when He created man. "It is not good that man should be alone."

So, if you're with me, supporting the sanctity and ideal of marriage, stand up for it...because there is no way that false perceptions of love and Hollywood expectations of happily-ever-after are strong enough to break down what God has put together. Let the "singles" in your life know what marriage means and where you stand on it. Peace, love and many blessings!

Life's "hard" but...

Of course everything's hard & unfair. How else would there be so many opportunities to change & so many ways to see a person for who they truly are? Anyone could seem cool if things always go their way But fake people really bore me.

Life's hard but it doesn't mean dreams have to die and hearts have to be heavy.

There is still such a thing as justice, integrity, purpose and WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND. Don't worry about what you can't handle, what makes no sense at the moment.
The unjust reap their rewards....it seems everything's good now but their now is but a moment. Who are you to stop handling your business because it seems someone else is getting more for doing less or for doing the wrong thing, anyway? Show the love of Christ and stay on your grind!
And, who are you to give up on life because nothing is seeming right today? Today is now but there've been many todays and you have to keep hope for tomorrow. Do what you know, do what you can and know your future todays are in God's hands.

True Love on a Sunny Sunday

Who originally sang the song that's called both "Jesus, I'm desperate for You" and "The Air I Breathe" ...Hillsong, Michael W. Smith?

I heard a clip of it in this movie that was on this morning, called, "The Other End of the Line." It was a short clip but it was so familiar to me and I realized what it was and why and then, I wondered how it was playing at that point and in that movie. I'd heard nothing about Jesus within the film. The clip was simply used for their own purposes, using the artist's love for Jesus to convey a story of love between the main characters. I mean, people use all types of songs for all types of projects all of the time but it bothers me that, upon looking, I saw that the song's not even listed under the movie's soundtrack list and while love is love regardless, all of that's deceptive.

Was there an even larger agenda to say that belief in one another is more important than what you believe about God? You think about it. The movie features a young woman from an Indian family who's about to be married off when she decides to get with a guy from America. No one professes their faith. While they speak on love, happiness, commitment, family, loyalty, prayer and forgiveness, they do not speak about any God, let alone a Savior. This reminds me of how people try to combine/blur the lines between religious faiths so as to say that believing in the greater good for mankind, whatever that may actually be, and living without crunching on each other's toes, is their ideal, more than any commitment to their having individual faith in the Lord.

Granted, I only was watching the last hour of the movie so, I can't completely formulate an opinion but their own words are: "Two countries. Two cultures. One chance at love."
So, I ask you, what's with our fixation on culture, anyway?...because, even if we're saying all of this to say that it's okay to cross-cultures if your culture is keeping you from "true love," that's still saying that culture is just this mega-huge thing to us...and says nothing of faith in the Lord.

How To Renew Life Despite Your Stress

Our Whole Lives Are on the Internet

Here is what I wrote last night:

Early this afternoon, I was minding my business, watching Spice World, when my internet lost connection. This happens from time to time but today, this sudden catastrophe was not tryna fix itself. Someone hasn’t paid the bill? I am forced to think about this every time I lose internet connection or have no internet access whatsoever: our whole lives have become centered on the internet, the World Wide Web. What do you do without it? I may be able to read or write or watch television but I can’t read my friend’s status updates, write blogs or watch streamed movies on Netflix. What do I do without it? I can’t go on Skype and talk to friends. I am essentially alone. Although this is how life was for many years before the internet became a part of my household, I don’t know what to do without it. Can I listen to music? I’d rather not because I’d rather be on YouTube. I took a lot for me to even begin typing all of this in Microsoft Word. I want my familiar customized post entry/editor box for my blog. I am in withdrawal again and I don’t know for how long…again. Last time, I came out feeling happier than ever and refreshed. It can be stressful dealing with the ‘net, after all. Yet, I am stressed now, too! What am I to do?

What I did was type things to posts to blogs later, watch The Craigslist Killer and go to sleep. Needless to say, I now have an internet connection, for the moment.

Great Expectations

Yet, when it comes to having expectations for others, it is often an obstacle in our relationships with one another. What's great to you isn't necessarily great to them. What's great overall is good relationships. Keep it a priority to live peaceably more than the desire to have nice things/appearances.

The PRESENT is a gift from God. Why live it in fear of the future? Don't feel overwhelmed by the thought of your destiny. We only live life one day at a time, scratch that, we live life one moment at a time. When you have a relationship with our Lord who says He sticks closer than a brother, will never leave or forsake us and never gives us more than we can bear, you have a right to Hope. When you live knowing your life is in His hands, that He has a plan and that Jesus has walked before you and has overcome the world, you have a right to Faith. Every Single choice and every single step brings us further into who we are becoming so, knowing where you want your story to end up, line up your actions with that purpose...His purpose..and presence - His Love.

God created and loves us, completely regardless of the way we think He sees us, the way others may see us or of how we see us. Romans 5: 8 (New International Version) says, But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
When you accept Jesus, God is pleased with you and you live through Him. Don't over-pressure yourself with stress-fully high expectations of what you ought to be like but, as of yet, are not and don't be fazed by lies from the accuser of the brethren. God knows more about us than we do and we need not think we can/should do anything to manipulate what God has already proclaimed. Jeremiah 29:11 (World English Bible) says, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.
As Joyce Meyer likes to point out, works of the flesh bring frustration. Let's not get so wrapped up in "doing" and "not doing" that we forget of what significance it is to "be." Now, we should know that God neither wants for us to live stagnant, mediocre lives in action nor in attitude and that He, most assuredly, does not demand more than He has enabled us to do and also that this is a spiritual world we live in and there is much more to it than meets the eye. Don't live in fear of your future, thinking that where you are looks nothing like where you think you should be. If you are trusting the Lord, He has made a way for you to live purposefully right where you are and if your heart is to obey His commands, which include showing His love to others, preaching the gospel of the kingdom and salvation through faith in Him and making disciples, as well as forgiveness toward others, His promises are being activated in you & your life. Stay in the Word; speak it over yourself because you are walking in your destiny today but can only effect the future outcome in how you are acting and reacting in the present. God sees what's inside of you and cares much less about the external and temporary circumstances. Even if you are experiencing a horrible career or other situation in your life and have been experiencing the struggle of that hardship for years, God only wants no more and no less than your love. Temporary things can only leave memories but what stays is love...and you can love in the present, regardless of whatever you see, you can believe that your life is leading you closer to the King and follow His Way.

You have the responsibility to make the most of the present by enjoying today. The difference between now and later is that now is always with us but now is always changing because you only have a moment to live it before it is gone into the past. Live now, not thinking about what you lack in but creating a legacy of love and faithfulness while learning along life's journey and walking in your spiritual destiny, knowing we don't have God's thoughts & that we live one step at a time.

The Number Ten, Biblically

So, my mother asked me to research the biblical meaning of "10" because tomorrow is the tenth anniversary of her 2nd Saturday meetings, "Devoted Women's Workshop."

I'd like to also share my findings with you.

Now, we're not getting into any numerology or adding anything because I just can't--I don't see the purpose, the godliness or have the understanding to be spreading it. Even if I did indulge in such, with all of the possible number combinations, I'd probably end up typing forever.

Ten signifies the perfection of Divine order, commencing an altogether new series of numbers. Completeness of order, marking the entire round of anything, is, therefore, the ever-present signification of the number ten. It implies that nothing is wanting; that the number and order are perfect; that the whole cycle is complete.

A look at the number values assigned to the Hebrew and Greek letters in the table shown in the introduction Hebrew and Greek numerics will show that the letters were given values from one to ten, then increasing in tens to 100 then increasing by 100's and so on. Furthermore numbering by tens is built in to our very anatomy. (Count on your fingers). Thus in ancient times as in modern times, ten is the start of a whole new order of numbers and the culmination of the numbers that come before it. Mathematically, ten is the first of the triangular numbers which has a center. Ten is also a tetrahedral number. If we start with one marble and then add a layer of three marbles under it we have a perfect tetrahedron of four marbles. If we then add another layer of six marbles under that we have a perfect tetrahedron of ten marbles. Such arrangements occur naturally in atomic structure of metals and other materials. In the physical sciences such an arrangement is called "close packed hexagonal" or cph for short. You may notice that each successive layer that is added is the next triangular number of marbles. Thus tetrahedral numbers are the sums of the triangular numbers. In the same way that ten is the fourth triangular number it is the third tetrahedral number. Thus ten is linked with the first of the "perfect numbers".

-The Lord's Prayer

The Lord's prayer is completed in ten clauses. *

* These clauses have the significance of their respective numbers:—

The first, God's sovereignty.
The second, Jehovah's manifested Name.
The third, the realization of God's kingdom.
The fourth first mentions the earth.
The fifth, the gift of grace supplying our need.
The sixth treats of man's sin.
The seventh pleads for spiritual guidance.
The eighth pleads for final deliverance from all evil.
The ninth sums up the divine glory (3²), while
The tenth completes the eternal cycles.

-The Tithes

The tithes represent the whole of what was due from man to God, as marking and recognizing God's claim on the whole.

-The Redemption Money

The redemption money was ten gerahs, and thus was acknowledged both what God claimed, and what man was responsible to give. Now ten gerahs was half a shekel (Exodus 30:12-16; Numbers 3:47). Every male that was numbered, over 20 years of age, must pay this sum and meet God's claim. *

* When David numbered the people (2Samuel 24 and 1Chronicles 21), this payment was not made and God's claim was not met. Hence the judgment which followed. But the first-born were to pay ten times as much; for when God took the Levites instead of the first-born of Israel, there were found 22,273 first-born males, but only 22,000 Levites. So that 273 had to pay the ransom money, which amounted to ten times ten gerahs. Thus, though the five shekels looked like a variation, the significance of ten is sustained, for the five shekels were ten times the "half shekel." (See Numbers 3:12,13,40-51).

-The Ten Plagues

The ten plagues were representative of the complete circle of God's judgments on Egypt. Exodus 9:14, "I will . . . send all my plagues."

-Antichrist's World Power

Antichrist's world power is comprised in the ten kingdoms, symbolized by the ten toes on the feet of the image of Nebuchadnezzar's dream (Daniel 2:41), and by the ten horns of the fourth beast of Daniel's vision (Daniel 7:7,20,24, etc.; Revelation 12:3, 13:1, 17:3,7,12).

-Ten Nations

Ten nations imply the whole of the nations which are to be the scene of Abraham's covenant possessions (Genesis 15:19).

-Abraham's Faith

Abraham's faith was proved by a completed cycle of ten trials:—

His departure from Haran.
His flight to Egypt from the famine.
In the seizure of Sarah.
In his war to rescue Lot.
In his taking Hagar.
In his circumcision.
In the second seizure of Sarah at Gerar.
In the expulsion of Ishmael.
In the expulsion of Hagar.
In the offering of Isaac.

-The Ten Rebellions

The ten rebellions of Israel in the wilderness (Numbers 14:22) mark the completed series of Israel's perversities.

-The Silver Sockets

-Fire came down from heaven ten times, six of which were in judgment:—

-The Tabernacle

The tabernacle is spoken of ten times as the "Tabernacle of Witness," or "Tabernacle of Testimony." Of these, five are Nk@#:$mi mish-kahn, Exodus 38:21; Numbers 1:50,53 (twice), 10:11. This has special reference to the Tabernacle as the dwelling-place of God, from Nka#$af shahcan, "to dwell." Mish-kahn means the dwelling-place of God (Exodus 25:8), and is therefore never used by the Holy Spirit of "whole congregation."

The other five are lhe)& oh-el, Numbers 17:7,8,10, 18:2; 2 Chronicles 24:6. Oh-el means simply a tent, and has special reference to the meeting-place of the people by appointment or at appointed seasons. This is the word which is used by the Holy Spirit of the "tent of the congregation."

-The Ten Words Of Psalm 119

The ten words of Psalm 119 complete the cycle of the Divine description of His Word. One or other of these ten words occurs in every verse (except 122), viz., Way, Testimony, Precepts, Commandments, Laying, Law, Judgment, Righteousness, Statutes, Word. These, the Massorah says, "correspond to the Ten Commandments."

-The Tenth Generation

The tenth generation completed and represented the whole existence of the family or nation. In Deuteronomy 23:3 we read that,

"an Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to their tenth generation shall they not enter into the congregation of the LORD for ever."

The reason is given in verses 4 and 5 as to why an Ammonite or Moabite could not enter into the congregation of the Lord. See also Nehemiah 13:1

-The Parables of the Kingdom

The parables of the Kingdom are ten in number in the Gospel of Matthew. Seven in chapter 13, and three in chapters 22 and 25.

-The Unrighteous who shall not enter

The unrighteous who shall not enter the kingdom of God are enumerated in ten particulars (1Corinthians 6:9,10).

-The Security of the Saints

The security of the saints is set forth in a ten-fold enumeration, which completes the whole cycle of assurance to all who are "in Christ," Romans 8:38,39. They are given in two fives:—

"For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers; nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature."

-The Ten I AM's of Jesus in John

"I am the Bread of Life" (6:35).
"I am the Bread of Life which came down from heaven" (6:41).
"I am the Living Bread" (6:51).
"I am the Light of the world" (8:12).
"I am One that bear witness of Myself" (8:18).

-The Repeated Names

Ten completes the perfect cycle of the repeated names. Moreover we shall note that these are divided significantly. Of these ten, seven are spoken directly to individual human beings, while three are spoken by the Lord in different connections. Of these seven, four are in the Old Testament, and three are in the New Testament.

-Ten Righteous

And he [Abraham] said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he [God] said, I will not destroy it for ten’s sake. (Genesis 18:32) It may be mere coincidence that the sum of the chapter and the verse numbers for this is 18 + 32 = 40. A multiple of ten and also a number with significance in its own right - trial and testing. A significance that is very appropriate to the verse itself.
