ܟ݁ܬ݂ܺܝܒ݂ ܓ݁ܶܝܪ ܒ݁ܰܢܒ݂ܺܝܳܐ ܕ݁ܢܶܗܘܽܘܢ ܟ݁ܽܠܗܽܘܢ ܡܰܠܦ݂ܶܐ ܕ݁ܰܐܠܳܗܳܐ ܟ݁ܽܠ ܡܰܢ ܕ݁ܫܳܡܰܥ ܗܳܟ݂ܺܝܠ ܡܶܢ ܐܰܒ݂ܳܐ ܘܝܳܠܶܦ݂ ܡܶܢܶܗ ܐܳܬ݂ܶܐ ܠܘܳܬ݂ܝ܂

6: 45 It is written in the prophets, 'And they will all be taught by God.' Everyone who hears and learns from the Father comes to me.

ܠܳܐ ܗ݈ܘܳܐ ܕ݁ܚܳܙܶܐ ܐ݈ܢܳܫ ܠܰܐܒ݂ܳܐ ܐܶܠܳܐ ܡܰܢ ܕ݁ܡܶܢ ܐܰܠܳܗܳܐ ܐܺܝܬ݂ܰܘܗ݈ܝ ܗܰܘ ܗ݈ܽܘ ܚܳܙܶܐ ܠܰܐܒ݂ܳܐ܂

6: 46 Not that anyone has seen the Father except the one who is from God; he is the one who has seen the Father.

ܐܰܡܺܝܢ ܐܰܡܺܝܢ ܐܳܡܰܪ ܐ݈ܢܳܐ ܠܟ݂ܽܘܢ ܕ݁ܡܰܢ ܕ݁ܰܡܗܰܝܡܶܢ ܒ݁ܺܝ ܐܺܝܬ݂ ܠܶܗ ܚܰܝܶܐ ܕ݁ܰܠܥܳܠܰܡ܂

6: 47 Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever believes in me has eternal life.

ܐܶܢܳܐ ܐ݈ܢܳܐ ܠܰܚܡܳܐ ܕ݁ܚܰܝܶܐ܂

6: 48 I am the bread of life.

ܐܰܒ݂ܳܗܰܝܟ݁ܽܘܢ ܐܶܟ݂ܰܠܘ ܡܰܢ݈ܢܳܐ ܒ݁ܡܰܕ݂ܒ݁ܪܳܐ ܘܡܺܝܬ݂ܘ܂

6: 49 Your ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died.

ܗܳܢܰܘ ܕ݁ܶܝܢ ܠܰܚܡܳܐ ܕ݁ܰܢܚܶܬ݂ ܡܶܢ ܫܡܰܝܳܐ ܕ݁ܢܶܐܟ݂ܽܘܠ ܐ݈ܢܳܫ ܡܶܢܶܗ ܘܠܳܐ ܢܡܽܘܬ݂܂

6: 50 This is the bread that comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die.

ܐܶܢܳܐ ܐ݈ܢܳܐ ܠܰܚܡܳܐ ܚܰܝܳܐ ܕ݁ܡܶܢ ܫܡܰܝܳܐ ܢܶܚܬ݁ܶܬ݂ ܘܶܐܢ ܐ݈ܢܳܫ ܢܶܐܟ݂ܽܘܠ ܡܶܢ ܗܳܢܳܐ ܠܰܚܡܳܐ ܢܺܚܶܐ ܠܥܳܠܰܡ ܘܠܰܚܡܳܐ ܐܰܝܢܳܐ ܕ݁ܶܐܢܳܐ ܐܶܬ݁ܶܠ ܦ݁ܰܓ݂ܪܝ ܗ݈ܽܘ ܕ݁ܥܰܠ ܐܰܦ݁ܰܝ ܚܰܝܰܘܗ݈ܝ ܕ݁ܥܳܠܡܳܐ ܝܳܗܶܒ݂ ܐ݈ܢܳܐ܂

6: 51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats of this bread will live forever. The bread is my flesh, which I give for the life of the world that I gave (made?)."

ܢܳܨܶܝܢ ܗ݈ܘܰܘ ܕ݁ܶܝܢ ܝܺܗܽܘܕ݂ܳܝܶܐ ܚܰܕ݂ ܥܰܡ ܚܰܕ݂ ܘܳܐܡܪܺܝܢ ܐܰܝܟ݁ܰܢܳܐ ܡܶܫܟ݁ܰܚ ܗܳܢܳܐ ܦ݁ܰܓ݂ܪܶܗ ܕ݁ܢܶܬ݁ܶܠ ܠܰܢ ܠܡܶܐܟ݂ܰܠ܂

6: 52 The Jews argued one with the other, (and) saying, "How can this man give
us his body to eat?"

ܘܶܐܡܰܪ ܠܗܽܘܢ ܝܶܫܽܘܥ ܐܰܡܺܝܢ ܐܰܡܺܝܢ ܐܳܡܰܪ ܐ݈ܢܳܐ ܠܟ݂ܽܘܢ ܕ݁ܶܐܠܳܐ ܬ݁ܶܐܟ݂ܠܽܘܢ ܦ݁ܰܓ݂ܪܶܗ ܕ݁ܰܒ݂ܪܶܗ ܕ݁ܐ݈ܢܳܫܳܐ ܘܬ݂ܶܫܬ݁ܽܘܢ ܕ݁ܡܶܗ ܠܰܝܬ݁ ܠܟ݂ܽܘܢ ܚܰܝܶܐ ܒ݁ܰܩܢܽܘܡܟ݂ܽܘܢ܂

6: 53 So Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I tell you, unless you eat the body of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. (Receive the true essences of human living?)

6: 22 The following day the crowd that had stayed on the other side of the sea saw that there had been only one boat there. They also saw that Jesus had not got into the boat with his disciples, but that his disciples had gone away alone.

ܐܶܬ݂ܰܝ ܗ݈ܘܰܝ ܕ݁ܶܝܢ ܐܶܠܦ݂ܶܐ ܐ݈ܚܪܳܢܝܳܬ݂ܳܐ ܡܶܢ ܛܒ݂ܶܪܺܝܳܘܣ ܥܰܠ ܓ݁ܶܢ݈ܒ݂ ܕ݁ܽܘܟ݁ܬ݂ܳܐ ܗܳܝ ܕ݁ܶܐܟ݂ܰܠܘ ܒ݁ܳܗ ܠܰܚܡܳܐ ܟ݁ܰܕ݂ ܒ݁ܰܪܶܟ݂ ܝܶܫܽܘܥ܂

6:23 Then some boats from Tiberias came near the place where they had eaten the bread after Jesus blessed.

ܘܟ݂ܰܕ݂ ܚܙܳܐ ܗܰܘ ܟ݁ܶܢܫܳܐ ܕ݁ܠܳܐ ܗܘܳܐ ܬ݁ܰܡܳܢ ܝܶܫܽܘܥ ܐܳܦ݂ܠܳܐ ܬ݁ܰܠܡܺܝܕ݂ܰܘܗ݈ܝ ܣܠܶܩܘ ܠܗܳܠܶܝܢ ܐܶܠܦ݂ܶܐ ܘܶܐܬ݂ܰܘ ܠܰܟ݂ܦ݂ܰܪܢܰܚܽܘܡ ܘܒ݂ܳܥܶܝܢ ܗ݈ܘܰܘ ܠܶܗ ܠܝܶܫܽܘܥ܂

6: 24 When the crowd saw that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they themselves got into the boats and went to Capernaum looking for Jesus.

ܘܟ݂ܰܕ݂ ܐܶܫܟ݁ܚܽܘܗ݈ܝ ܒ݁ܥܶܒ݂ܪܳܐ ܕ݁ܝܰܡܳܐ ܐܳܡܪܺܝܢ ܠܶܗ ܪܰܒ݁ܰܢ ܐܶܡܰܬ݂ܝ ܐܶܬ݂ܰܝܬ݁ ܠܗܳܪܟ݁ܳܐ܂

6:25 When they found him on the other side of the sea, they said to him, "Our master, when did you come here?"

ܥܢܳܐ ܝܶܫܽܘܥ ܘܶܐܡܰܪ ܠܗܽܘܢ ܐܰܡܺܝܢ ܐܰܡܺܝܢ ܐܳܡܰܪ ܐ݈ܢܳܐ ܠܟ݂ܽܘܢ ܕ݁ܒ݂ܳܥܶܝܢ ܐܢ݈ܬ݁ܽܘܢ ܠܺܝ ܠܳܐ ܗ݈ܘܳܐ ܡܶܛܽܠ ܕ݁ܰܚܙܰܝܬ݁ܽܘܢ ܐܳܬ݂ܘܳܬ݂ܳܐ ܐܶܠܳܐ ܕ݁ܶܐܟ݂ܰܠܬ݁ܽܘܢ ܠܰܚܡܳܐ ܘܰܣܒ݂ܰܥܬ݁ܽܘܢ܂

6: 26 Jesus answered them, "Truly, truly, I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw miracles, but because you ate bread and were satisfied.

ܠܳܐ ܬ݁ܶܦ݂ܠܚܽܘܢ ܡܶܐܟ݂ܽܘܠܬ݁ܳܐ ܕ݁ܳܐܒ݂ܕ݁ܳܐ ܐܶܠܳܐ ܡܶܐܟ݂ܽܘܠܬ݁ܳܐ ܕ݁ܰܡܩܰܘܝܳܐ ܠܚܰܝܶܐ ܕ݁ܰܠܥܳܠܰܡ ܐܰܝܕ݂ܳܐ ܕ݁ܰܒ݂ܪܶܗ ܕ݁ܐ݈ܢܳܫܳܐ ܢܶܬ݁ܶܠ ܠܟ݂ܽܘܢ ܠܗܳܢܳܐ ܓ݁ܶܝܪ ܐܰܒ݂ܳܐ ܚܬ݂ܰܡ ܐܰܠܳܗܳܐ܂

6: 27 Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For it is on him that God the Father has set his seal of approval."
(Jesus is the food that destines you for eternal Life.)

ܐܳܡܪܺܝܢ ܠܶܗ ܡܳܢܳܐ ܢܶܥܒ݁ܶܕ݂ ܕ݁ܢܶܦ݂ܠܽܘܚ ܥܒ݂ܳܕ݂ܶܐ ܕ݁ܰܐܠܳܗܳܐ܂

6: 28 Then they said to him, "What must we do to do the works of God?"

ܥܢܳܐ ܝܶܫܽܘܥ ܘܶܐܡܰܪ ܠܗܽܘܢ ܗܳܢܰܘ ܥܒ݂ܳܕ݂ܳܐ ܕ݁ܰܐܠܳܗܳܐ ܕ݁ܰܬ݂ܗܰܝܡܢܽܘܢ ܒ݁ܡܰܢ ܕ݁ܗܽܘ ܫܰܕ݁ܰܪ܂

6: 29 Jesus answered them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent."

ܐܳܡܪܺܝܢ ܠܶܗ ܡܳܢܳܐ ܐܳܬ݂ܳܐ ܥܳܒ݂ܶܕ݂ ܐܰܢ݈ܬ݁ ܕ݁ܢܶܚܙܶܐ ܘܰܢܗܰܝܡܶܢ ܒ݁ܳܟ݂ ܡܳܢܳܐ ܣܳܥܰܪ ܐܰܢ݈ܬ݁܂

6:30 So they said to him, "What sign are you going to perform, so that we may see it and believe you? What will you do?

ܐܰܒ݂ܳܗܰܝܢ ܡܰܢ݈ܢܳܐ ܐܶܟ݂ܰܠܘ ܒ݁ܡܰܕ݂ܒ݁ܪܳܐ ܐܰܝܟ݁ܰܢܳܐ ܕ݁ܰܟ݂ܬ݂ܺܝܒ݂ ܕ݁ܠܰܚܡܳܐ ܡܶܢ ܫܡܰܝܳܐ ܝܰܗ݈ܒ݂ ܠܗܽܘܢ ܠܡܶܐܟ݂ܰܠ܂

6: 31 Our ancestors ate the manna in the desert. As it is written, 'He gave them bread from heaven to eat.'"

ܐܳܡܰܪ ܠܗܽܘܢ ܝܶܫܽܘܥ ܐܰܡܺܝܢ ܐܰܡܺܝܢ ܐܳܡܰܪ ܐ݈ܢܳܐ ܠܟ݂ܽܘܢ ܕ݁ܠܳܐ ܗ݈ܘܳܐ ܡܽܘܫܶܐ ܝܰܗ݈ܒ݂ ܠܟ݂ܽܘܢ ܠܰܚܡܳܐ ܡܶܢ ܫܡܰܝܳܐ ܐܶܠܳܐ ܐܳܒ݂ܝ ܝܳܗܶܒ݂ ܠܟ݂ܽܘܢ ܠܰܚܡܳܐ ܕ݁ܩܽܘܫܬ݁ܳܐ ܡܶܢ ܫܡܰܝܳܐ܂

6: 32 Then Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I tell you, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven.

ܠܰܚܡܶܗ ܓ݁ܶܝܪ ܕ݁ܰܐܠܳܗܳܐ ܐܺܝܬ݂ܰܘܗ݈ܝ ܗܰܘ ܕ݁ܰܢܚܶܬ݂ ܡܶܢ ܫܡܰܝܳܐ ܘܝܳܗܶܒ݂ ܚܰܝܶܐ ܠܥܳܠܡܳܐ܂:

6: 33 For the bread of God is that which comes down from heaven and gives life to the world."

ܐܳܡܪܺܝܢ ܠܶܗ ܡܳܪܰܢ ܒ݁ܟ݂ܽܠܙܒ݂ܰܢ ܗܰܒ݂ ܠܰܢ ܠܰܚܡܳܐ ܗܳܢܳܐ܂

6: 34 They said to him, "Our Lord, give us this bread at all times."

ܐܳܡܰܪ ܠܗܽܘܢ ܝܶܫܽܘܥ ܐܶܢܳܐ ܐ݈ܢܳܐ ܠܰܚܡܳܐ ܕ݁ܚܰܝܶܐ ܡܰܢ ܕ݁ܳܐܬ݂ܶܐ ܠܘܳܬ݂ܝ ܠܳܐ ܢܶܟ݂ܦ݁ܰܢ ܘܡܰܢ ܕ݁ܰܡܗܰܝܡܶܢ ܒ݁ܺܝ ܠܳܐ ܢܶܨܗܶܐ ܠܥܳܠܰܡ܂

6: 35 Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

ܐܶܠܳܐ ܐܶܡܪܶܬ݂ ܠܟ݂ܽܘܢ ܕ݁ܰܚܙܰܝܬ݁ܽܘܢܳܢܝ ܘܠܳܐ ܡܗܰܝܡܢܺܝܢ ܐܢ݈ܬ݁ܽܘܢ܂

6: 36 But I said to you that you have seen me and yet do not believe.

ܟ݁ܽܠ ܕ݁ܝܰܗ݈ܒ݂ ܠܺܝ ܐܳܒ݂ܝ ܠܘܳܬ݂ܝ ܢܺܐܬ݂ܶܐ ܘܡܰܢ ܕ݁ܰܠܘܳܬ݂ܝ ܢܺܐܬ݂ܶܐ ܠܳܐ ܐܰܦ݁ܩܶܗ ܠܒ݂ܰܪ܂

6: 37 Everyone that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away;

ܕ݁ܢܶܚܬ݁ܶܬ݂ ܡܶܢ ܫܡܰܝܳܐ ܠܳܐ ܗ݈ܘܳܐ ܕ݁ܶܐܥܒ݁ܶܕ݂ ܨܶܒ݂ܝܳܢܝ ܐܶܠܳܐ ܕ݁ܶܐܥܒ݁ܶܕ݂ ܨܶܒ݂ܝܳܢܶܗ ܕ݁ܡܰܢ ܕ݁ܫܰܕ݁ܪܰܢܝ܂

6: 38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but to do the will of him who sent me.
(I came down from heaven for the satisfaction of whom sent me.)

ܗܳܢܰܘ ܕ݁ܶܝܢ ܨܶܒ݂ܝܳܢܶܗ ܕ݁ܡܰܢ ܕ݁ܫܰܕ݁ܪܰܢܝ ܕ݁ܟ݂ܽܠ ܕ݁ܝܰܗ݈ܒ݂ ܠܺܝ ܠܳܐ ܐܰܘܒ݁ܶܕ݂ ܡܶܢܶܗ ܐܶܠܳܐ ܐܰܩܺܝܡܺܝܘܗ݈ܝ ܒ݁ܝܰܘܡܳܐ ܐ݈ܚܪܳܝܳܐ܂

6: 39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up on the last day.

ܗܳܢܰܘ ܓ݁ܶܝܪ ܨܶܒ݂ܝܳܢܶܗ ܕ݁ܳܐܒ݂ܝ ܕ݁ܟ݂ܽܠ ܕ݁ܚܳܙܶܐ ܠܰܒ݂ܪܳܐ ܘܰܡܗܰܝܡܶܢ ܒ݁ܶܗ ܢܶܗܘܽܘܢ ܠܶܗ ܚܰܝܶܐ ܕ݁ܰܠܥܳܠܰܡ ܘܶܐܢܳܐ ܐܰܩܺܝܡܺܝܘܗ݈ܝ ܒ݁ܝܰܘܡܳܐ ܐ݈ܚܪܳܝܳܐ܂

6: 40 This is the will of my Father, that all who see the Son and believe in him may have eternal life; and I will raise them (him) up on the last day."

ܝܺܗܽܘܕ݂ܳܝܶܐ ܕ݁ܶܝܢ ܪܳܛܢܺܝܢ ܗ݈ܘܰܘ ܥܠܰܘܗ݈ܝ ܕ݁ܶܐܡܰܪ ܕ݁ܶܐܢܳܐ ܐ݈ܢܳܐ ܠܰܚܡܳܐ ܕ݁ܢܶܚܬ݁ܶܬ݂ ܡܶܢ ܫܡܰܝܳܐ܂

6: 41 Then the Jews began to grumble about him because he said, "I am the bread that came down from heaven."

ܘܳܐܡܪܺܝܢ ܗ݈ܘܰܘ ܠܳܐ ܗ݈ܘܳܐ ܗܳܢܳܐ ܝܶܫܽܘܥ ܒ݁ܪܶܗ ܕ݁ܝܰܘܣܶܦ݂ ܗܰܘ ܕ݁ܰܚܢܰܢ ܝܳܕ݂ܥܺܝܢ ܠܰܐܒ݂ܽܘܗ݈ܝ ܘܠܶܐܡܶܗ ܘܰܐܝܟ݁ܰܢܳܐ ܐܳܡܰܪ ܗܳܢܳܐ ܕ݁ܡܶܢ ܫܡܰܝܳܐ ܢܶܚܬ݁ܶܬ݂܂

6: 42 And they said, "Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How can he now say, 'I came down from heaven'?"

ܥܢܳܐ ܝܶܫܽܘܥ ܘܶܐܡܰܪ ܠܗܽܘܢ ܠܳܐ ܬ݁ܶܪܛܢܽܘܢ ܚܰܕ݂ ܥܰܡ ܚܰܕ݂܂

6: 43 Jesus answered them, "Do not grumble among yourselves (one with another).

ܠܳܐ ܐ݈ܢܳܫ ܡܶܫܟ݁ܰܚ ܕ݁ܢܺܐܬ݂ܶܐ ܠܘܳܬ݂ܝ ܐܶܠܳܐ ܐܶܢ ܢܰܓ݂ܕ݁ܶܗ ܐܰܒ݂ܳܐ ܕ݁ܫܰܕ݁ܪܰܢܝ ܘܶܐܢܳܐ ܐܰܩܺܝܡܺܝܘܗ݈ܝ ܒ݁ܝܰܘܡܳܐ ܐ݈ܚܪܳܝܳܐ܂

6: 44 No one can come to me unless drawn by the Father who sent me; and I will raise that person (him or them) up on the last day.

6: 17 And they got into a boat and started across the sea to Capernaum. It was dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them.

6: 18 The sea was lifted up against them became rough because a strong wind was blowing.

6: 19 When they had rowed about twenty-five or thirty furlongs (three or four miles), they saw Jesus walking on the lake. And as he was near the boat, they were terrified.

6: 20 But Jesus said to them, "It is I; do not be afraid."

6: 21 Then they desired to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the land toward which they were going.

4: 43 And after two days Jesus left there and went to Galilee.

4: 44 For Jesus testified that a prophet is not honored in his own town.

4: 47 This (man) heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee. And he went to him and was begging him to come down and heal his son, for he was near to dying.

ܐܳܡܰܪ ܠܶܗ ܝܶܫܽܘܥ ܐܶܢ ܐܳܬ݂ܘܳܬ݂ܳܐ ܘܬ݂ܶܕ݂ܡܪܳܬ݂ܳܐ ܠܳܐ ܬ݁ܶܚܙܽܘܢ ܠܳܐ ܬ݁ܗܰܝܡܢܽܘܢ܂

4: 48 Jesus told him, "If you do not see signs and wonders, you do not believe!"

ܐܳܡܰܪ ܠܶܗ ܗܰܘ ܥܒ݂ܶܕ݂ ܡܰܠܟ݁ܳܐ ܡܳܪܝ ܚܽܘܬ݂ ܥܰܕ݂ܠܳܐ ܡܳܐܶܬ݂ ܠܶܗ ܛܰܠܝܳܐ܂

4: 49 That servant of the king said, "My Lord, come down before the child
dies."

ܐܳܡܰܪ ܠܶܗ ܝܶܫܽܘܥ ܙܶܠ ܒ݁ܪܳܟ݂ ܚܰܝ ܗ݈ܽܘ ܘܗܰܝܡܶܢ ܗܰܘ ܓ݁ܰܒ݂ܪܳܐ ܒ݁ܡܶܠܬ݂ܳܐ ܕ݁ܶܐܡܰܪ ܠܶܗ ܝܶܫܽܘܥ ܘܶܐܙܰܠ܂

4: 50 Jesus said to him, "Go, your son is alive." And the man believed in the word that Jesus spoke and departed.

4: 51 While he was going down, his servants met him and brought him hope and said to him, “Your son lives.”

ܘܫܰܐܶܠ ܐܶܢܽܘܢ ܒ݁ܰܐܝܢܳܐ ܥܶܕ݁ܳܢܳܐ ܐܶܬ݂ܚܠܶܡ ܐܳܡܪܺܝܢ ܠܶܗ ܐܶܬ݂ܡܳܠܝ ܒ݁ܰܫܒ݂ܰܥ ܫܳܥܺܝܢ ܫܒ݂ܰܩܬ݂ܶܗ ܐܶܫܳܬ݂ܳܐ܂

4: 52 And he asked them, "At what time was he made whole?" They said to him, "Yesterday, at the seventh hour the fever left him."

4: 53 And his father realized that in that hour at which Jesus said to him, "Your son will live." And he and all his household believed.

4: 54 Again this was the second miraculous sign that Jesus performed, as came from Judea to Galilee.

ܒ݁ܳܬ݂ܰܪ ܗܳܠܶܝܢ ܐܶܙܰܠ ܝܶܫܽܘܥ ܠܥܶܒ݂ܪܳܐ ܕ݁ܝܰܡܳܐ ܕ݁ܰܓ݂ܠܺܝܠܳܐ ܕ݁ܛܺܒ݂ܶܪܺܝܳܘܣ܂

6: 1 After these Jesus went to the other side of the Sea of Galilee, of Tiberias.

ܘܶܐܙܰܠܘ ܒ݁ܳܬ݂ܪܶܗ ܟ݁ܶܢܫܶܐ ܣܰܓ݁ܺܝܶܐܐ ܡܶܛܽܠ ܕ݁ܚܳܙܶܝܢ ܗ݈ܘܰܘ ܐܳܬ݂ܘܳܬ݂ܳܐ ܕ݁ܥܳܒ݂ܶܕ݂ ܒ݁ܰܟ݂ܪܺܝܗܶܐ܂

6: 2 And a large crowd followed him, because they saw the signs that he was doing for the sick.

ܘܰܣܠܶܩ ܝܶܫܽܘܥ ܠܛܽܘܪܳܐ ܘܬ݂ܰܡܳܢ ܝܳܬ݂ܶܒ݂ ܗ݈ܘܳܐ ܥܰܡ ܬ݁ܰܠܡܺܝܕ݂ܰܘܗ݈ܝ܂

6: 3 And Jesus went up the mountain and was sitting there with his disciples.

ܩܰܪܺܝܒ݂ ܗ݈ܘܳܐ ܕ݁ܶܝܢ ܥܰܕ݂ܥܺܕ݂ܳܐ ܕ݁ܦ݂ܶܨܚܳܐ ܕ݁ܺܝܗܽܘܕ݂ܳܝܶܐ܂

6: 4 And the Jewish Passover Feast was near.

ܘܰܐܪܺܝܡ ܥܰܝܢܰܘܗ݈ܝ ܝܶܫܽܘܥ ܘܰܚܙܳܐ ܟ݁ܶܢܫܳܐ ܣܰܓ݁ܺܝܳܐܐ ܕ݁ܳܐܬ݂ܶܐ ܠܘܳܬ݂ܶܗ ܘܶܐܡܰܪ ܠܦ݂ܺܝܠܺܝܦ݁ܳܘܣ ܐܰܝܡܶܟ݁ܳܐ ܢܶܙܒ݁ܶܢ ܠܰܚܡܳܐ ܕ݁ܢܶܐܟ݂ܠܽܘܢ ܗܳܠܶܝܢ܂

6: 5 And Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward him. He said to Philip, "Where shall we buy bread so that these may eat?"

6: 6 And he said this to test him, for he knew what he was about to do.

ܐܳܡܰܪ ܠܶܗ ܦ݂ܺܝܠܺܝܦ݁ܳܘܣ ܕ݁ܡܰܐܬ݂ܶܝܢ ܕ݁ܺܝܢܳܪܺܝܢ ܠܰܚܡܳܐ ܠܳܐ ܣܳܦ݂ܶܩ ܠܗܽܘܢ ܟ݁ܰܕ݂ ܩܰܠܺܝܠ ܩܰܠܺܝܠ ܚܰܕ݂ ܚܰܕ݂ ܡܶܢܗܽܘܢ ܢܶܣܰܒ݂܂

6: 7 Philip answered him, "Two hundred dinars of bread would not enough, even though each of them may get a little."

ܐܳܡܰܪ ܠܶܗ ܚܰܕ݂ ܡܶܢ ܬ݁ܰܠܡܺܝܕ݂ܰܘܗ݈ܝ ܐܰܢܕ݁ܪܶܐܘܳܣ ܐܰܚܽܘܗ݈ܝ ܕ݁ܫܶܡܥܽܘܢ ܟ݁ܺܐܦ݂ܳܐ܂

6: 8 One of his students, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said to him,

ܐܺܝܬ݂ ܬ݁ܢܳܢ ܛܰܠܝܳܐ ܚܰܕ݂ ܕ݁ܺܐܝܬ݂ ܥܠܰܘܗ݈ܝ ܚܰܡܶܫ ܓ݁ܪܺܝܨܳܢ ܕ݁ܰܣܥܳܪܶܐ ܘܰܬ݂ܪܶܝܢ ܢܽܘܢܺܝܢ ܐܶܠܳܐ ܗܳܠܶܝܢ ܡܳܢܳܐ ܐܶܢܽܘܢ ܠܗܳܠܶܝܢ ܟ݁ܽܠܗܽܘܢ܂

6: 9 "There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish. But what are they among so many people?"

ܐܳܡܰܪ ܠܗܽܘܢ ܝܶܫܽܘܥ ܥܒ݂ܶܕ݂ܘ ܐ݈ܢܳܫܳܐ ܟ݁ܽܠܗܽܘܢ ܕ݁ܢܶܣܬ݁ܰܡܟ݁ܽܘܢ ܥܶܣܒ݁ܳܐ ܕ݁ܶܝܢ ܣܰܓ݁ܺܝ ܗ݈ܘܳܐ ܒ݁ܳܗ ܒ݁ܕ݂ܽܘܟ݁ܬ݂ܳܐ ܗܳܝ ܘܶܐܣܬ݁ܡܶܟ݂ܘ ܓ݁ܰܒ݂ܪܶܐ ܒ݁ܡܶܢܝܳܢܳܐ ܚܰܡܫܳܐ ܐܰܠܦ݂ܺܝܢ܂

6: 10 Jesus said, "Have the people sit down." There was plenty of grass in that place, and the men sat down, about five thousand of them.

ܘܰܫܩܰܠ ܝܶܫܽܘܥ ܠܰܚܡܳܐ ܘܒ݂ܰܪܶܟ݂ ܘܦ݂ܰܠܶܓ݂ ܠܗܳܢܽܘܢ ܕ݁ܰܣܡܺܝܟ݂ܺܝܢ ܘܗܳܟ݂ܰܢܳܐ ܐܳܦ݂ ܡܶܢ ܢܽܘܢܶܐ ܟ݁ܡܳܐ ܕ݁ܰܨܒ݂ܰܘ܂

6: 11 Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated; so also the fish as much as they wanted.

ܘܟ݂ܰܕ݂ ܣܒ݂ܰܥܘ ܐܶܡܰܪ ܠܬ݂ܰܠܡܺܝܕ݂ܰܘܗ݈ܝ ܟ݁ܰܢܶܫܘ ܩܨܳܝܶܐ ܕ݁ܺܝܬ݂ܰܪܘ ܕ݁ܠܳܐ ܢܺܐܒ݂ܰܕ݂ ܡܶܕ݁ܶܡ܂

6: 12 When they were satisfied, he told his students, "Gather up the fragments left over, so that nothing may be lost."

ܘܟ݂ܰܢܶܫܘ ܘܰܡܠܰܘ ܬ݁ܪܶܥܣܰܪ ܩܽܘܦ݂ܺܝܢܺܝܢ ܩܨܳܝܶܐ ܐܰܝܠܶܝܢ ܕ݁ܺܝܬ݂ܰܪܘ ܠܗܳܢܽܘܢ ܕ݁ܶܐܟ݂ܰܠܘ ܡܶܢ ܚܰܡܫܳܐ ܠܰܚܡܺܝܢ ܕ݁ܰܣܥܳܪܶܐ܂

6: 13 So they gathered them and filled twelve baskets with the pieces of the five barley loaves left over by those who had eaten.

ܗܳܢܽܘܢ ܕ݁ܶܝܢ ܐ݈ܢܳܫܳܐ ܕ݁ܰܚܙܰܘ ܐܳܬ݂ܳܐ ܕ݁ܰܥܒ݂ܰܕ݂ ܝܶܫܽܘܥ ܐܳܡܪܺܝܢ ܗ݈ܘܰܘ ܫܰܪܺܝܪܳܐܝܺܬ݂ ܗܳܢܰܘ ܢܒ݂ܺܝܳܐ ܕ݁ܳܐܬ݂ܶܐ ܠܥܳܠܡܳܐ܂

6: 14 The people who saw the miraculous sign that Jesus did, were saying, "Truly this is the Prophet who is to come into the world."

6: 15 But when Jesus realized that they were about to come, and seize him, and make him king, he withdrew to the mountain by himself.

John 3
3: 1 There was a man of the Pharisees. Nicodemus was his name, a leader of the Jews.
3: 2 This man came to Jesus at night and said to him, "Rabbi, we know that from God, you are sent (as a) teacher. For no one could perform these signs you are doing unless God is with him."
3: 3 Jesus declared, "Very truly, I tell you, if anyone is not born again, no one can see the kingdom of God."
3: 4 Nicodemus asked, "How can an old man be born when he is old? Why?? Is it possible to enter his mother’s womb and to be born again?
3: 5 Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I am telling you that if a person is not born from water and spirit, (the person) is not able to enter the kingdom of God.

ܪܽܘܚܳܐ ܐܰܬ݂ܰܪ ܕ݁ܨܳܒ݂ܝܳܐ ܢܳܫܒ݁ܳܐ ܘܩܳܠܳܗ ܫܳܡܰܥ ܐܰܢ݈ܬ݁ ܐܶܠܳܐ ܠܳܐ ܝܳܕ݂ܰܥ ܐܰܢ݈ܬ݁ ܐܰܝܡܶܟ݁ܳܐ ܐܳܬ݂ܝܳܐ ܘܠܰܐܝܟ݁ܳܐ ܐܳܙܳܠ݈ܐ ܗܳܟ݂ܰܢܳܐ ܐܺܝܬ݂ܰܘܗ݈ܝ ܟ݁ܽܠܢܳܫ ܕ݁ܺܝܠܺܝܕ݂ ܡܶܢ ܪܽܘܚܳܐ܂

ܥܢܳܐ ܢܺܝܩܳܕ݂ܺܡܳܘܣ ܘܶܐܡܰܪ ܠܶܗ ܐܰܝܟ݁ܰܢܳܐ ܡܶܫܟ݁ܚܳܢ ܗܳܠܶܝܢ ܠܡܶܗܘܳܐ܂

ܥܢܳܐ ܝܶܫܽܘܥ ܘܶܐܡܰܪ ܠܶܗ ܐܰܢ݈ܬ݁ ܗ݈ܽܘ ܡܰܠܦ݂ܳܢܶܗ ܕ݁ܺܐܝܣܪܳܝܶܠ ܘܗܳܠܶܝܢ ܠܳܐ ܝܳܕ݂ܰܥ ܐܰܢ݈ܬ݁܂

3: 6 What is born of flesh is flesh. What is born of spirit, is spirit.
3: 7 Do not be surprised that I told you (plural) that it is necessary for you (plural) to be born from above.
3: 8 The wind blows wherever it desires. And you hear its voice but you do not know where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit."
3: 9 Nicodemus said, “How can these be?"
3: 10 Jesus said, "You are a teacher of Israel, and you do not understand these things. [Jesus is saying this should be taught, since it is very important.]

ܕ݁ܟ݂ܽܠ ܐ݈ܢܳܫ ܕ݁ܰܡܗܰܝܡܶܢ ܒ݁ܶܗ ܠܳܐ ܢܺܐܒ݂ܰܕ݂ ܐܶܠܳܐ ܢܶܗܘܽܘܢ ܠܶܗ ܚܰܝܶܐ ܕ݁ܰܠܥܳܠܰܡ܂

3: 11 truly, truly I tell you that of what we know, we speak and to what we have seen, we testify and (but) you (plural) do not accept our testimony.
3: 12 If I have told you (plural) about earthly things and you do not believe; how will you believe if I speak of heavenly things?
3: 13 No one went to heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man who was in heaven.
3: 14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man is about to be lifted up.
3: 15 So that everyone who believes in him will not be destroyed but will have eternal life.

3: 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
3: 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
3: 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe, is already condemned because (he or she) has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
3: 19 This is the judgment: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness more than light because their deeds were evil.
3: 20 For everyone does hateful things hates the light, and does not come into the light so that his deeds may not be exposed.
3: 21 But the one who serves the truth comes into the light, so that his work which is done in God may be known.

4: 4 But he had to pass through Samaria.
4: 5 And he came to a town in the Samaria city which is called Sychar, on the side of the field that Jacob had given to his son Joseph.
4: 6 Jacob's well was there, and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about the sixth hour.
4: 7 When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, "Will you give me a drink?"
4: 8 His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.
4: 9 The Samaritan woman said to him, "You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?" For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.
4: 10 Jesus answered her, "If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water."
4: 11 The woman said, "Sir, you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water?

ܐܳܡܰܪ ܠܳܗ ܝܶܫܽܘܥ ܙܶܠܝ ܩܪܳܝ ܠܒ݂ܰܥܠܶܟ݂ܝ ܘܬ݂ܳܝ ܠܗܳܪܟ݁ܳܐ܂

4: 12 (Why) Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his flocks and herds?"
4: 13 Jesus answered, "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again,
4: 14 but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life."
4: 15 The woman said to him, "My lord, give me this water so that I may be not again thirsty or have to come and draw from here. [It sounds that she is tired of what she was doing. She seems so ready to meet Jesus.]

4: 16 Jesus told her, "Go, call your husband and come (back) here."
4: 17 She replied to him, "I have no husband." Jesus said to her, "You have well said that you have no husband.
4: 18 For you have had five husbands, and the one you now have is not your husband. You said this truth.
4: 19 The woman said, “My lord, I see that you are a prophet!”
4: 20 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, but you (plural) say that in Jerusalem is the place that is right to worship.
4: 21 Jesus said, "Woman, believe me that the time is coming when they will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.
4: 22 You (plural) worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for life is from the Jews.
4: 23 But the time is coming and is now when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father also seeks worshipers such as these.
4: 24 For God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.

4: 25 The woman said, "I know that Messiah (the Anointed One) is coming. And when he comes, he will teach everything."
4: 26 Jesus said to her, "I am the One speaking with you."[ I am the “I” who speaking with you.]
4: 27 And while he was speaking, his disciples returned and were amazed that he was talking with a woman. But no one asked, "What do you want?" or "Why are you talking with her?"
4: 28 And the woman left her water jar, and went to the town and said to the people. [This is the pattern in the gospel. When you find Jesus who he is, you left everything to follow him. It is explained in kingdom parables.]
4: 29 "Come, see a man who told me everything I have done. Why? Is he the Christ?"
4: 30 And the people went out from the town and came to him.

4: 32 But he said to them, "I have food to eat of which you know not." [Jesus was tired in the beginning of this conversation. But he was so happy by this conversation. He didn’t feel hungry. How powerful this energy is? Is this how his divineness manifests? Is he so happy that he couldn’t eat?]
4: 33 The students said among themselves, "Which person has brought him something to eat?" [So the best way to feed Jesus is to do the will of him by being repent and return to the right knowledge of Christ.]
4: 34 Jesus said to them, "My food is that I do the will of the one who sent me and finish his work.
4: 35 Do you not say that after four months comes the harvest? Viola, I tell you, lift up your eyes and look at the lands that are white and have ripened for the harvest from long ago.
4: 36 And the reaper receives a wage, and gathers fruits for eternal life, and the sower and the reaper rejoice together.
4: 37 For, in this is a manifestation of the truth that one (the other) sows and the other reap.
4: 38 I sent you to harvent the thing that was not you to work in it. For others labored. And you enter into their labor.

1: 19 And this is the testimony of John when the Jews of Jerusalem sent priests and Levites to ask him, “who are you?”

ܘܰܐܘܕ݁ܺܝ ܘܠܳܐ ܟ݁ܦ݂ܰܪܘܰܐܘܕ݁ܺܝ ܕ݁ܠܰܘ ܐܶܢܳܐܐ݈ܢܳܐ ܡܫܺܝܚܳܐ܂

1: 20 He confessed; and did not deny it; and informed, "I am not the Christ."

1: 21 And they asked him again, "Then are you Elijah?" He said, "I am not." "Are you the Prophet?" He answered, "No."

ܘܶܐܡܰܪܘ ܠܶܗ ܘܡܰܢܽܘܐܰܢ݈ܬ݁ ܕ݁ܢܶܬ݁ܶܠ ܦ݁ܶܬ݂ܓ݂ܳܡܳܐܠܰܐܝܠܶܝܢ ܕ݁ܫܰܕ݁ܪܽܘܢ ܡܳܢܳܐܐܳܡܰܪ ܐܰܢ݈ܬ݁ ܥܰܠܢܰܦ݂ܫܳܟ݂܂

1: 22 They said, "Who are you? We (need to) give an answer to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?"

ܐܶܡܰܪ ܐܶܢܳܐ ܩܳܠܳܐܕ݁ܩܳܪܶܐ ܒ݁ܡܰܕ݂ܒ݁ܪܳܐܕ݁ܰܐܫܘܰܘ ܐܽܘܪܚܶܗܕ݁ܡܳܪܝܳܐ ܐܰܝܟ݁ܰܢܳܐܕ݁ܶܐܡܰܪ ܐܶܫܰܥܝܳܐܢܒ݂ܺܝܳܐ܂

1: 23 (John) replied, “I am the voice crying in the desert, ‘Make straight the way for the Lord,’” [Isaiah 40:3] as the Isaiah the prophet said.

ܗܳܢܽܘܢ ܕ݁ܶܝܢܕ݁ܶܐܫܬ݁ܰܕ݁ܰܪܘ ܡܶܢ ܦ݁ܪܺܝܫܶܐܗ݈ܘܰܘ܂

1: 24 And those who were sent, were from the Pharisees.

1: 31 I did not know him, but that he might be revealed to Israel, I came baptizing with water.”

1: 38 And Jesus turned around and saw them following after him, and asked, "What do you want?" They said, our master, “where do you live?”

The Gospel of John in Syriac and English

The gospel of John is written in Greek, expressing Hebrew concepts. When I read the gospel of John in Modern Hebrew, like New Testament in Hebrew & English I can see how John uses the concepts of the Old Testament. Many concepts are flowing from Old Testament to New Testament.

In either languages, the main message of John is: Christ loves us. In either language you can see that clearly. The love that Jesus talks about is the love that we need. John understood that Jesus is God and wants his students to love one another.

Two thousands years ago, Jesus was speaking in Aramaic (Syriac) to communicate with his Jewish people. In terms of literature Jesus was “translated” into our language. Jesus was living in an ancient culture. Today some people are reading the gospel of John in Syriac (Aramaic). Then we can see some Semitic culture there. For examples:

In John 8: 13-14, the phrase “I am” conveys a thought of eternal existence reserved only for God in their culture. Otherwise you might wonder: Why did they try to kill Jesus for saying that he is “I am”?

You can translate John 8: 26: “You do not empty yourselves to make room for my word.” I love that imagery.

In John 3: 8, you can see the wordplay. Jesus was using the Hebrew word “Ruach” or the Aramaic/Syriac word “Rukha,” to say spirit and wind. It is the same word. So you see why Jesus compared the movement of spirit with wind.

In Syriac and Hebrew a same word can express “work,” “service” and “worship.” (John 9: 4)

In their Semitic culture, prostrating oneself before God is the most submissive form of worship. Religious concepts can be very cultural concepts.

Jesus lived a culture having a word to express the concept of purifying oneself, especially in the context of a ritual washing prior to worship or priestly service. (John 9: 7) Muslims maintain this concept still. It is cultural.

When we read John 7: 9-10, both in Hebrew and Syriac, we find “in Galilee (v 9)” and “openly (v 10)” sound very similar. John may have been poetic about his writing, by mentioning Galilee, and then saying, “Jesus went up to the feast secretly, not openly.”

When we read John 8: 10-11, in Syriac, we find Mawtha (death) and Matha (to come) sounds similar. “You will die in your sins and where I go you cannot come.”

If you go to here you will find much possible wordplay in their footnote area.

Reading the gospel of John, I even wonder whether the gospel writer was thinking in Aramaic. He uses only limited vocabularies. For example, other gospel writer, Luke used way more vocabularies than him. (numbers)

John, the gospel writer may have been teaching in Aramaic. But while he was writing this gospel, he was speaking in Greek. So, if we read in Syraic, we may discover how the author was thinking and translating in his head. He was thinking in Aramaic (Syraic). So, his Greek is not really fluent.

ܐܺܝܬ݂ ܗ݈ܘܳܐ ܕ݁ܶܝܢ ܬ݁ܰܡܳܢ ܒ݁ܽܐܘܪܺܫܠܶܡ ܕ݁ܽܘܟ݁ܬ݂ܳܐ ܚܕ݂ܳܐ ܕ݁ܡܰܥܡܽܘܕ݂ܺܝܬ݂ܳܐ ܕ݁ܡܶܬ݂ܩܰܪܝܳܐ ܥܶܒ݂ܪܳܐܝܺܬ݂ ܒ݁ܶܝܬ݂‌ܚܶܣܕ݁ܳܐ ܘܺܐܝܬ݂ ܗ݈ܘܳܐ ܒ݁ܳܗ ܚܰܡܫܳܐ ܐܶܣܛܘܺܝܢ܂

ܘܰܒ݂ܗܳܠܶܝܢ ܪܡܶܝܢ ܗ݈ܘܰܘ ܥܰܡܳܐ ܣܰܓ݁ܺܝܳܐܐ ܕ݁ܰܟ݂ܪܺܝܗܶܐ ܘܰܣܡܰܝܳܐ ܘܰܚܓ݂ܺܝܣܶܐ ܘܝܰܒ݁ܺܝܫܶܐ ܘܰܡܣܰܟ݁ܶܝܢ ܗ݈ܘܰܘ ܠܙܽܘܥܳܐ ܕ݁ܡܰܝܳܐ܂

ܡܰܠܰܐܟ݂ܳܐ ܓ݁ܶܝܪ ܒ݁ܰܙܒ݂ܰܢ ܙܒ݂ܰܢ ܢܳܚܶܬ݂ ܗ݈ܘܳܐ ܠܳܗ ܠܡܰܥܡܽܘܕ݂ܺܝܬ݂ܳܐ ܘܰܡܙܺܝܥ ܗ݈ܘܳܐ ܠܗܽܘܢ ܠܡܰܝܳܐ ܘܰܐܝܢܳܐ ܕ݁ܩܰܕ݂ܡܳܝܳܐ ܢܳܚܶܬ݂ ܗ݈ܘܳܐ ܡܶܢ ܒ݁ܳܬ݂ܰܪ ܙܰܘܥܳܐ ܕ݁ܡܰܝܳܐ ܡܶܬ݂ܚܠܶܡ ܗ݈ܘܳܐ ܟ݁ܽܠ ܟ݁ܺܐܒ݂ܳܐ ܐܰܝܢܳܐ ܕ݁ܺܐܝܬ݂ ܗ݈ܘܳܐ ܠܶܗ܂

ܐܺܝܬ݂ ܗ݈ܘܳܐ ܕ݁ܶܝܢ ܬ݁ܰܡܳܢ ܓ݁ܰܒ݂ܪܳܐ ܚܰܕ݂ ܕ݁ܰܬ݂ܠܳܬ݂ܺܝܢ ܘܰܬ݂ܡܳܢܶܐ ܫܢܺܝܢ ܐܺܝܬ݂ܰܘܗ݈ܝ ܗ݈ܘܳܐ ܒ݁ܟ݂ܽܘܪܗܳܢܳܐ܂

John 5
5: 1 After these there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to
Jerusalem.
5: 2 Now there is in Jerusalem, a place of baptism, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda. And there were five columns in it.
5: 3 And by these (columns) lay many sick—the blind, the lame, the paralyzed. They waited for the moving of the water.
5: 4 For the angel, from time to time, would come down for the place of baptism and would stir the water for them. And whoever went down first into the water, after the movement of the water, was made whole from every disease he had.
5: 5 There was a man there, one who was in sickness for thirty-eight years.

ܠܗܳܢܳܐ ܚܙܳܐ ܝܶܫܽܘܥ ܕ݁ܰܪܡܶܐ ܘܺܝܕ݂ܰܥ ܕ݁ܙܰܒ݂ܢܳܐ ܣܰܓ݁ܺܝܳܐܐ ܐܺܝܬ݂ ܠܶܗ ܘܶܐܡܰܪ ܠܶܗ ܨܳܒ݂ܶܐ ܐܰܢ݈ܬ݁ ܕ݁ܬ݂ܶܬ݂ܚܠܶܡ܂

ܥܢܳܐ ܗܰܘ ܟ݁ܪܺܝܗܳܐ ܘܶܐܡܰܪ ܐܺܝܢ ܡܳܪܝ ܠܰܝܬ݁ ܠܺܝ ܕ݁ܶܝܢ ܐ݈ܢܳܫ ܕ݁ܡܳܐ ܕ݁ܶܐܬ݁ܬ݁ܙܺܝܥܘ ܡܰܝܳܐ ܢܰܪܡܶܝܢܝ ܒ݁ܡܰܥܡܽܘܕ݂ܺܝܬ݂ܳܐ ܐܶܠܳܐ ܥܰܕ݂ ܐܶܢܳܐ ܐܳܬ݂ܶܐ ܐ݈ܢܳܐ ܐ݈ܚܪܺܝܢ ܡܶܢ ܩܕ݂ܳܡܰܝ ܢܳܚܶܬ݂܂

ܐܳܡܰܪ ܠܶܗ ܝܶܫܽܘܥ ܩܽܘܡ ܫܩܽܘܠ ܥܰܪܣܳܟ݂ ܘܗܰܠܶܟ݂܂

ܘܒ݂ܰܪ ܫܳܥܬ݂ܶܗ ܐܶܬ݂ܚܠܶܡ ܓ݁ܰܒ݂ܪܳܐ ܗܰܘ ܘܩܳܡ ܫܩܰܠ ܥܰܪܣܶܗ ܘܗܰܠܶܟ݂ ܘܗܽܘ ܗܰܘ ܝܰܘܡܳܐ ܫܰܒ݁ܬ݂ܳܐ ܗ݈ܘܳܬ݂܂

ܘܳܐܡܪܺܝܢ ܠܶܗ ܝܺܗܽܘܕ݂ܳܝܶܐ ܠܗܰܘ ܕ݁ܶܐܬ݂ܰܐܣܺܝ ܫܰܒ݁ܬ݂ܳܐ ܗ݈ܝ ܠܳܐ ܫܰܠܺܝܛ ܠܳܟ݂ ܕ݁ܬ݂ܶܫܩܽܘܠ ܥܰܪܣܳܟ݂܂

5: 6 Jesus saw this man lying (there) and knew that for a long time he had (this condition). He asked him, "Do you desire to be made whole?"
5: 7 The sick [man] answered and said, "Yes, my lord. But I do no one, when the water is stirred up, to put me into the
baptismal pool. Rather, while I come, another goes down before me."
5: 8 Jesus said to him, "Get up! Take your mat and walk."
5: 9 And at once the man was cured; he rose, took his mat and walked.
That day was a Sabbath.
5: 10 And the Jews said to that man who had been healed, "It is the Sabbath. It is not lawful for you to carry your mat."

ܗܽܘ ܕ݁ܶܝܢ ܥܢܳܐ ܘܶܐܡܰܪ ܠܗܽܘܢ ܗܰܘ ܕ݁ܥܰܒ݂ܕ݁ܰܢܝ ܚܠܺܝܡܳܐ ܗܽܘ ܐܶܡܰܪ ܠܺܝ ܕ݁ܰܫܩܽܘܠ ܥܰܪܣܳܟ݂ ܘܗܰܠܶܟ݂܂

ܘܫܰܐܠܽܘܗ݈ܝ ܡܰܢܽܘ ܗܳܢܳܐ ܓ݁ܰܒ݂ܪܳܐ ܕ݁ܶܐܡܰܪ ܠܳܟ݂ ܕ݁ܰܫܩܽܘܠ ܥܰܪܣܳܟ݂ ܘܗܰܠܶܟ݂܂

ܗܰܘ ܕ݁ܶܝܢ ܕ݁ܶܐܬ݂ܰܐܣܺܝ ܠܳܐ ܝܳܕ݂ܰܥ ܗ݈ܘܳܐ ܡܰܢܽܘ ܝܶܫܽܘܥ ܓ݁ܶܝܪ ܐܶܬ݂ܓ݁ܢܺܝ ܗ݈ܘܳܐ ܠܶܗ ܒ݁ܟ݂ܶܢܫܳܐ ܣܰܓ݁ܺܝܳܐܐ ܕ݁ܺܐܝܬ݂ ܗ݈ܘܳܐ ܒ݁ܕ݂ܽܘܟ݁ܬ݂ܳܐ ܗܳܝ܂

ܒ݁ܳܬ݂ܰܪ ܙܒ݂ܰܢ ܐܶܫܟ݁ܚܶܗ ܝܶܫܽܘܥ ܒ݁ܗܰܝܟ݁ܠܳܐ ܘܶܐܡܰܪ ܠܶܗ ܗܳܐ ܚܠܺܝܡ ܐܰܢ݈ܬ݁ ܬ݁ܽܘܒ݂ ܠܳܐ ܬ݁ܶܚܛܶܐ ܕ݁ܰܠܡܳܐ ܢܶܗܘܶܐ ܠܳܟ݂ ܡܶܕ݁ܶܡ ܕ݁ܒ݂ܺܝܫ ܡܶܢ ܩܰܕ݂ܡܳܝܳܐ܂

ܘܶܐܙܰܠ ܗܰܘ ܓ݁ܰܒ݂ܪܳܐ ܘܶܐܡܰܪ ܠܺܝܗܽܘܕ݂ܳܝܶܐ ܕ݁ܝܶܫܽܘܥ ܗ݈ܽܘ ܗܰܘ ܕ݁ܰܐܚܠܡܶܗ܂

5: 11 Then, he replied, "He who made me well said to me, 'Take your mat and walk.' "
5: 12 They asked him, "Who is this man who told you to take your mat and walk?"
5: 13 But he who was healed did not know who he was, for Jesus had slipped away into the big crowd that was at that place.
5: 14 After some time Jesus found him in the temple and said to him,
"Behold, you are whole. Do not sin again. Something that is worse than before may happen to you."
5: 15 And the man went and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well.

ܘܡܶܛܽܠ ܗܳܕ݂ܶܐ ܪܳܕ݂ܦ݁ܺܝܢ ܗ݈ܘܰܘ ܝܺܗܽܘܕ݂ܳܝܶܐ ܠܝܶܫܽܘܥ ܘܒ݂ܳܥܶܝܢ ܗ݈ܘܰܘ ܠܡܶܩܛܠܶܗ ܕ݁ܗܳܠܶܝܢ ܥܳܒ݂ܶܕ݂ ܗ݈ܘܳܐ ܒ݁ܫܰܒ݁ܬ݂ܳܐ܂

ܗܽܘ ܕ݁ܶܝܢ ܝܶܫܽܘܥ ܐܶܡܰܪ ܠܗܽܘܢ ܐܳܒ݂ܝ ܥܕ݂ܰܡܳܐ ܠܗܳܫܳܐ ܥܳܒ݂ܶܕ݂ ܐܳܦ݂ ܐܶܢܳܐ ܥܳܒ݂ܶܕ݂ ܐ݈ܢܳܐ܂

ܘܡܶܛܽܠ ܗܳܕ݂ܶܐ ܝܰܬ݁ܺܝܪܳܐܝܺܬ݂ ܒ݁ܳܥܶܝܢ ܗ݈ܘܰܘ ܝܺܗܽܘܕ݂ܳܝܶܐ ܠܡܶܩܛܠܶܗ ܠܳܐ ܒ݁ܰܠܚܽܘܕ݂ ܕ݁ܫܳܪܶܐ ܗ݈ܘܳܐ ܫܰܒ݁ܬ݂ܳܐ ܐܶܠܳܐ ܐܳܦ݂ ܕ݁ܥܰܠ ܐܰܠܳܗܳܐ ܕ݁ܰܐܒ݂ܽܘܗ݈ܝ ܐܺܝܬ݂ܰܘܗ݈ܝ ܐܳܡܰܪ ܗ݈ܘܳܐ ܘܡܰܫܘܶܐ ܗ݈ܘܳܐ ܢܰܦ݂ܫܶܗ ܥܰܡ ܐܰܠܳܗܳܐ܂

ܥܢܳܐ ܕ݁ܶܝܢ ܝܶܫܽܘܥ ܘܶܐܡܰܪ ܠܗܽܘܢ ܐܰܡܺܝܢ ܐܰܡܺܝܢ ܐܳܡܰܪ ܐ݈ܢܳܐ ܠܟ݂ܽܘܢ ܕ݁ܠܳܐ ܡܶܫܟ݁ܰܚ ܒ݁ܪܳܐ ܥܳܒ݂ܶܕ݂ ܡܶܕ݁ܶܡ ܡܶܢ ܨܒ݂ܽܘܬ݂ ܢܰܦ݂ܫܶܗ ܐܶܠܳܐ ܡܶܕ݁ܶܡ ܕ݁ܚܳܙܶܐ ܠܰܐܒ݂ܳܐ ܕ݁ܥܳܒ݂ܶܕ݂ ܐܰܝܠܶܝܢ ܓ݁ܶܝܪ ܕ݁ܰܐܒ݂ܳܐ ܥܳܒ݂ܶܕ݂ ܗܳܠܶܝܢ ܐܳܦ݂ ܒ݁ܪܳܐ ܐܰܟ݂ܘܳܬ݂ܶܗ ܥܳܒ݂ܶܕ݂܂

ܐܰܒ݂ܳܐ ܓ݁ܶܝܪ ܪܳܚܶܡ ܠܰܒ݂ܪܶܗ ܘܟ݂ܽܠܡܶܕ݁ܶܡ ܕ݁ܥܳܒ݂ܶܕ݂ ܡܚܰܘܶܐ ܠܶܗ ܘܰܕ݂ܝܰܬ݁ܺܝܪܺܝܢ ܡܶܢ ܗܳܠܶܝܢ ܥܒ݂ܳܕ݂ܶܐ ܡܚܰܘܶܐ ܠܶܗ ܕ݁ܰܐܢ݈ܬ݁ܽܘܢ ܬ݁ܶܬ݁ܕ݁ܰܡܪܽܘܢ܂

5: 16 And because of this, the Jews was persecuting Jesus and seeking to kill him: that he would do these on the Sabbath.
5: 17 But Jesus said to them, "My Father works to this very day, and I, also, am working."
5: 18 And because of this the Jews tried all the harder to kill him; not only that he breaks the Sabbath, but also that concerning God, he said, He [sic] is his Father, making himself equal with God.
19. Then, Jesus answered, "Very truly, I tell you, the Son is not able to do anything on his own, but only what he sees the Father doing: for whatever the Father does, the Son does likewise.
5: 20 The Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. And he will show him greater works than these, so that you will be astonished.

ܐܰܝܟ݁ܰܢܳܐ ܓ݁ܶܝܪ ܕ݁ܰܐܒ݂ܳܐ ܡܩܺܝܡ ܡܺܝܬ݂ܶܐ ܘܡܰܚܶܐ ܠܗܽܘܢ ܗܳܟ݂ܰܢܳܐ ܐܳܦ݂ ܒ݁ܪܳܐ ܠܰܐܝܠܶܝܢ ܕ݁ܨܳܒ݂ܶܐ ܡܰܚܶܐ܂

ܠܳܐ ܗ݈ܘܳܐ ܓ݁ܶܝܪ ܐܰܒ݂ܳܐ ܕ݁ܳܐܶܢ ܠܐ݈ܢܳܫ ܐܶܠܳܐ ܟ݁ܽܠܶܗ ܕ݁ܺܝܢܳܐ ܝܰܗܒ݁ܶܗ ܠܰܒ݂ܪܳܐ܂

ܕ݁ܟ݂ܽܠܢܳܫ ܢܝܰܩܰܪ ܠܰܒ݂ܪܳܐ ܐܰܝܟ݂ ܕ݁ܰܡܝܰܩܰܪ ܠܰܐܒ݂ܳܐ ܗܰܘ ܕ݁ܠܳܐ ܡܝܰܩܰܪ ܠܰܒ݂ܪܳܐ ܠܳܐ ܡܝܰܩܰܪ ܠܰܐܒ݂ܳܐ ܕ݁ܫܰܕ݁ܪܶܗ܂

ܐܰܡܺܝܢ ܐܰܡܺܝܢ ܐܳܡܰܪ ܐ݈ܢܳܐ ܠܟ݂ܽܘܢ ܕ݁ܡܰܢ ܕ݁ܫܳܡܰܥ ܡܶܠܰܬ݂ܝ ܘܰܡܗܰܝܡܶܢ ܠܡܰܢ ܕ݁ܫܰܕ݁ܪܰܢܝ ܐܺܝܬ݂ ܠܶܗ ܚܰܝܶܐ ܕ݁ܰܠܥܳܠܰܡ ܘܰܠܕ݂ܺܝܢܳܐ ܠܳܐ ܐܳܬ݂ܶܐ ܐܶܠܳܐ ܫܰܢܺܝ ܠܶܗ ܡܶܢ ܡܰܘܬ݁ܳܐ ܠܚܰܝܶܐ܂

ܐܰܡܺܝܢ ܐܰܡܺܝܢ ܐܳܡܰܪ ܐ݈ܢܳܐ ܠܟ݂ܽܘܢ ܕ݁ܳܐܬ݂ܝܳܐ ܫܳܥܬ݂ܳܐ ܐܳܦ݂ ܗܳܫܳܐ ܐܺܝܬ݂ܶܝܗ ܐܶܡܰܬ݂ܝ ܕ݁ܡܺܝܬ݂ܶܐ ܢܶܫܡܥܽܘܢ ܩܳܠܶܗ ܕ݁ܰܒ݂ܪܶܗ ܕ݁ܰܐܠܳܗܳܐ ܘܗܳܢܽܘܢ ܕ݁ܫܳܡܥܺܝܢ ܢܺܚܽܘܢ܂

5: 21 For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to whomever he wishes.
5: 22 The Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son,
5: 23 so that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Anyone who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him.
5: 24 "Very truly, I tell you, anyone who hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and does not come under judgment, but he has crossed over from death to life.
5: 25 Very truly, I tell you, the hour is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God. And those who hear will live.

ܘܰܐܫܠܛܶܗ ܕ݁ܢܶܗܘܶܐ ܥܳܒ݂ܶܕ݂ ܐܳܦ݂ ܕ݁ܺܝܢܳܐ ܕ݁ܰܒ݂ܪܶܗ ܗܽܘ ܕ݁ܶܝܢ ܕ݁ܐ݈ܢܳܫܳܐ܂

ܠܳܐ ܬ݁ܶܬ݁ܕ݁ܰܡܪܽܘܢ ܒ݁ܗܳܕ݂ܶܐ ܕ݁ܳܐܬ݂ܝܳܐ ܫܳܥܬ݂ܳܐ ܐܶܡܰܬ݂ܝ ܕ݁ܟ݂ܽܠܗܽܘܢ ܐܰܝܠܶܝܢ ܕ݁ܰܒ݂ܩܰܒ݂ܪܶܐ ܐܶܢܽܘܢ ܢܶܫܡܥܽܘܢ ܩܳܠܶܗ܂

ܘܢܶܦ݁ܩܽܘܢ ܐܰܝܠܶܝܢ ܕ݁ܰܥܒ݂ܰܕ݂ܘ ܛܳܒ݂ܳܬ݂ܳܐ ܠܰܩܝܳܡܬ݁ܳܐ ܕ݁ܚܰܝܶܐ ܘܰܐܝܠܶܝܢ ܕ݁ܰܥܒ݂ܰܕ݂ܘ ܒ݁ܺܝܫܳܬ݂ܳܐ ܠܰܩܝܳܡܬ݁ܳܐ ܕ݁ܕ݂ܺܝܢܳܐ܂

ܠܳܐ ܡܶܫܟ݁ܰܚ ܐ݈ܢܳܐ ܡܶܕ݁ܶܡ ܡܶܢ ܨܒ݂ܽܘܬ݂ ܢܰܦ݂ܫܝ ܠܡܶܥܒ݁ܰܕ݂ ܐܶܠܳܐ ܐܰܝܟ݁ܰܢܳܐ ܕ݁ܫܳܡܰܥ ܐ݈ܢܳܐ ܕ݁ܳܐܶܢ ܐ݈ܢܳܐ ܘܕ݂ܺܝܢܝ ܟ݁ܺܐܝܢ ܗ݈ܽܘ ܠܳܐ ܓ݁ܶܝܪ ܒ݁ܳܥܶܐ ܐ݈ܢܳܐ ܨܶܒ݂ܝܳܢܝ ܐܶܠܳܐ ܨܶܒ݂ܝܳܢܶܗ ܕ݁ܡܰܢ ܕ݁ܫܰܕ݁ܪܰܢܝ܂

ܐܶܢ ܐܶܢܳܐ ܡܰܣܗܶܕ݂ ܐ݈ܢܳܐ ܥܰܠ ܢܰܦ݂ܫܝ ܣܳܗܕ݁ܽܘܬ݂ܝ ܠܳܐ ܗܘܳܬ݂ ܫܰܪܺܝܪܳܐ܂

5: 26 For as the Father has life in himself, so he has also given the Son also to have life in himself.
5: 27 And he has given him authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of Man.
5: 28 "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice
5: 29 and will come out—those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.
5: 30 I can do nothing on my own. But as I hear, I judge; and my judgment is just, because I seek to do not my own will but the will of him who sent me.
5: 31 If I testify about myself, my testimony is not true.

ܐ݈ܚܪܺܝܢ ܗ݈ܽܘ ܗܰܘ ܕ݁ܡܰܣܗܶܕ݂ ܥܠܰܝ ܘܝܳܕ݂ܰܥ ܐ݈ܢܳܐ ܕ݁ܫܰܪܺܝܪܳܐ ܗ݈ܝ ܣܳܗܕ݁ܽܘܬ݂ܶܗ ܕ݁ܡܰܣܗܶܕ݂ ܥܠܰܝ܂

ܐܰܢ݈ܬ݁ܽܘܢ ܫܰܕ݁ܰܪܬ݁ܽܘܢ ܠܘܳܬ݂ ܝܽܘܚܰܢܳܢ ܘܰܐܣܗܶܕ݂ ܥܰܠ ܫܪܳܪܳܐ܂

ܐܶܢܳܐ ܕ݁ܶܝܢ ܠܳܐ ܗ݈ܘܳܐ ܡܶܢ ܒ݁ܰܪܢܳܫܳܐ ܢܳܣܶܒ݂ ܐ݈ܢܳܐ ܣܳܗܕ݁ܽܘܬ݂ܳܐ ܐܶܠܳܐ ܗܳܠܶܝܢ ܐܳܡܰܪ ܐ݈ܢܳܐ ܕ݁ܰܐܢ݈ܬ݁ܽܘܢ ܬ݁ܺܚܽܘܢ܂

ܗܰܘ ܫܪܳܓ݂ܳܐ ܗ݈ܘܳܐ ܕ݁ܕ݂ܳܠܶܩ ܘܡܰܢܗܰܪ ܘܰܐܢ݈ܬ݁ܽܘܢ ܨܒ݂ܰܝܬ݁ܽܘܢ ܕ݁ܬ݂ܶܫܬ݁ܰܒ݂ܗܪܽܘܢ ܕ݁ܫܳܥܬ݂ܳܐ ܒ݁ܢܽܘܗܪܶܗ܂

ܠܺܝ ܕ݁ܶܝܢ ܐܺܝܬ݂ ܠܺܝ ܣܳܗܕ݁ܽܘܬ݂ܳܐ ܕ݁ܪܰܒ݁ܳܐ ܡܶܢ ܕ݁ܝܽܘܚܰܢܳܢ ܥܒ݂ܳܕ݂ܶܐ ܓ݁ܶܝܪ ܕ݁ܝܰܗ݈ܒ݂ ܠܺܝ ܐܳܒ݂ܝ ܕ݁ܶܐܫܰܠܶܡ ܐܶܢܽܘܢ ܗܶܢܽܘܢ ܥܒ݂ܳܕ݂ܶܐ ܕ݁ܥܳܒ݂ܶܕ݂ ܐ݈ܢܳܐ ܣܳܗܕ݁ܺܝܢ ܥܠܰܝ ܕ݁ܰܐܒ݂ܳܐ ܫܰܠܚܰܢܝ܂

5: 32 There is another who testifies on my behalf, and I know that his testimony to me is true.
5: 33 You sent to John, and he testified to the truth.
5: 34 Not that I accept such human testimony, but I say these things so that you may live.
5: 35 (John) he was a lamp that burned and gave light, and you desire for a time to enjoy his light.
5: 36 But I have a testimony greater than John's. For the works that the Father has given me to complete, the very works that I am doing, testify on my behalf that the Father has sent me.

ܘܠܳܐ ܨܳܒ݂ܶܝܢ ܐܢ݈ܬ݁ܽܘܢ ܕ݁ܬ݂ܺܐܬ݂ܽܘܢ ܠܘܳܬ݂ܝ ܕ݁ܚܰܝܶܐ ܕ݁ܰܠܥܳܠܰܡ ܢܶܗܘܽܘܢ ܠܟ݂ܽܘܢ܂

ܫܽܘܒ݂ܚܳܐ ܡܶܢ ܒ݁ܢܰܝ ܐ݈ܢܳܫܳܐ ܠܳܐ ܢܳܣܶܒ݂ ܐ݈ܢܳܐ܂

5: 37 And the Father who sent me has (himself) testified concerning me. You have never heard his voice nor seen his form,
5: 38 And his word does not dwell in you, because you do not believe him whom he sent.
5: 39 You search the scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and “they” testify about me.
5: 40 Yet you refuse to come to me to have eternal life.
5: 41 I do not accept praise from human beings.

5: 42 But I know that you do not have the love of God.
5: 43 I have come in my Father's name and you do not accept me; and if another comes in his own name, you will accept him.
5: 44 How can you believe when you accept praise from one another and do not seek the praise that comes from the one who alone is God?
5: 45 Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father; your accuser is Moses, on whom you have set your hope.
5: 46 For, if you believed Moses, you would also believe me. For he wrote about me.
5: 47 And if you do not believe what he wrote, how will you believe in my words?"

2: 12 After this he went down to Capernaum with his mother and brothers and his disciples. There they stayed for a few days.
2: 13 And the Passover of the Jews was approaching, and Jesus went up to
Jerusalem.
2: 14 And he found in the temple those who were selling cattle, doves, sheep and doves, and the money changers seating.
2: 15 And he made a whip out of cords, and all of them he drove from the temple, the sheep, the cattle and the money changers and poured out their exchange money and overturned their tables.
2: 16 To those selling doves he said, "Get these out of here! And do not turn my Father's house into a marketplace!"
2: 17 And his disciples remembered that it is written: "Zeal for your house devours me."[Psalm 69:9]

2: 18 Then the Jews said to him, "What sign can you show us for doing this?
2: 19 Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and in (for) three days, I will raise it up."
2: 20 The Jews replied, "For forty-six years this temple has been built, and in three days you are going to raise it up?"
2: 21 But he was speaking about the temple of his body.
2: 22 After he was raised from the dead, his students remembered what he had said. And they believed the Scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken.
2: 23 While Jesus was in Jerusalem during the Passover Feast, many
believed in him, as they saw the signs that he performed.

ܗܽܘ ܕ݁ܶܝܢ ܝܶܫܽܘܥ ܠܳܐ ܡܗܰܝܡܶܢ ܗ݈ܘܳܐ ܠܗܽܘܢ ܢܰܦ݂ܫܶܗ ܡܶܛܽܠ ܕ݁ܗܽܘ ܝܳܕ݂ܰܥ ܗ݈ܘܳܐ ܠܟ݂ܽܠܢܳܫ܂

ܘܠܳܐ ܣܢܺܝܩ ܗ݈ܘܳܐ ܕ݁ܐ݈ܢܳܫ ܢܶܣܗܰܕ݂ ܠܶܗ ܥܰܠ ܟ݁ܽܠ ܒ݁ܰܪܢܳܫ ܗܽܘ ܓ݁ܶܝܪ ܝܳܕ݂ܰܥ ܗ݈ܘܳܐ ܡܳܢܳܐ ܐܺܝܬ݂ ܒ݁ܒ݂ܰܪܢܳܫܳܐ܂

2: 24 But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew every person.
2: 25 And he did not rely on human testimony about anyone, for he knew what was in a human being.
