Working the Necklace Tool into the Craftboard

All 4 sites, craftbord.net, craftbord.info, craftbord.biz, and craftbord.org are up and now I'm just checking the app at craftboard.net for issues with images. It seems I lost a couple projects in the move. Not sure how that happened. I switched from php pages to perl scripts due to some server issues. Now I just need to get the Necklace tool to save images. That will be tomorrow.

The fourth site I would like to build allows users to create a subdomain under craftboard.org. This would give crafters a unique site where they could have the option of their own, or automated pages to build with. It would be restricted to craft items only.

Awesome Trio .biz, .net, .info

I've uploaded the start of 3 craftboard related sites.

.biz is for posting anything that is a finished product or supplies. When finished the items will link back to a users website.

.info is for building the help pages for both the .biz and the .net sites.

.net is for using the software to make projects from either your own items or from other users items.

This is all being integrated, and I hope to complete it by 2016. Especially the .biz site.

Perlygates.net is now moved to Craftboard.net. It all is the same except the name. Next I will incorporate craftboard.biz for posting any craft item. You can also sell you virtual projects made within the craftboard.

I will give myself 2 or 3 months before something is up and running on craftboard.biz. Hopefully nothing gets in the way of my time.

This has been on my todo list forever! I am coming into a couple weeks off, and decided it was high time the site name matched the app. This may take a month before I am completely comfortable with the transfer. I thought it a good time before the user list gets any bigger. I also want to put up a site for just selling crafty stuff at craftboard.biz. That will be one of my new year's resolutions.

Wow! Time flies when having fun. I've been remodeling a trailer and working on my necklace tool. The necklace tool will save the necklaces and reload them for future viewing. I'm trying to get it to work inside the craftboard. But for now it is here:

Necklace Tool

To use this tool with your items you need to subscribe to the exclusive plan. Then when you make an item inside the craftboard you need to look under the item info tab and put the type as 'bead','pendant', or 'clasp'.

Group Tool done

I finished rewriting the Grouping tool. It has multilevel grouping ability. That means you can put groups within groups. The group tool is needed to create 4 other tools I've designed. (Mask tool, Necklace tool, Kaleidoscope tool, String tool). A few days ago I rewrote the Necklace tool, because I found some better code for animating curved lines. I think it will be a week before the necklace tool is complete. I may even make this a separate little website script for my mothers site.

I'm starting the tools this week. I have my group tool almost working. In that same tool panel I put the necklace tool. Because a necklace is really just a group of beads. I'm making handles on the tool which change the shape of the necklace to more or less rounded around the bottom. It also adjusts the size. The idea is to drop the bottom bead first. Usually it is a pendant or something. Then drop beads on the right or left and have them fall down to the next position up from the bottom focal bead. So far it is working fairly well. I just have to be able to adjust the beads a bit. There seems to be a small gap there. Then I need to be able to remove beads from the necklace. That should be in by next week. Here is a pic of what I have so far.

As stated in my previous posts, I had to take a few weeks off for family business. I've traveled over 4000 miles in the last 2 months. Plus was sick for 1 month straight. Crazy!

So for the last 2 weeks I've made up for it. I haven't added much new, except the selection box on the canvas.
I have fixed tons of little errors, and fixed our demo site at beadoroma.com to run html 5. Plus I made it simple to automatically put a favorites button when we add an item to the board.

I also spent a day working on some language files that could automatically be updated. I'm still testing them.
I was told some help pages would be nice. So I'll be thinking about those soon.

This software is free if you check the box to be a tester. So please help. All you have to do is use it. It sends reports if errors are found.

I've moved to be with my sister for a few months. It took up alot of time away from developing software.

A few things have been upgraded, but not fully tested. Like the Grouping tool. I just have to make it save and reload now. I am also testing the features I have already. This summer I hope to find time to implement all the tools the first version had. But time will tell, family is first.

I have this page set up as an example of how linking back and forth to the board works.

I've been working on the desktop app creating items and making sure the store panel buttons work. I've found a few little mistakes that make big differences. I'm going to test it for a few more days and work on external linking. So far it's looking good.

I added a button to the desktop app that loads the users items where in the online app exclusive items would load.

Now that I have projects to load I am working on getting multiple items to load after visiting multiple pages and adding favorites. This should be done tomorrow. If all goes well I'll open it up to allow others to create items and project links.

This took a couple days to create, now I get to spend the next couple days testing the buttons before the real ones are in place.

I have been working on this 14 hours today! I can't wait till it's up and running. I'm still debating about the download button. I may remove it and only have subscriptions. The goal for this is still the 20th. But may be up tomorrow if no glitches pop up.

Exlusive Board is Online

I've uploaded the exclusive board. That means a website that want's only their items to load can do just that.

Yesterday I started setting up the database. Today I began testing, and noticed a flu bug early on taking me into slooooow mode. I thought for sure I'ld have it all in by today, but there is always tomorrow.

I knew the change would come, but did not plan it.

HTML 5 is in and the only way to keep up with change. So while I was updating my subscription page I decided to dive in and change the whole site. I cut the large text out. Seems like no-one really reads it anyway. I went with a new color scheme, and woody look.

Tomorrow I visit the small business center here in Eugene OR. I have yet to put the plan in writing.
Maybe after I have it all functioning I'll take time for mapping the future. I have taken business management, accounting, and 101 in business law. But the more expertise the better.

Things can change on a whim right now. So for now I'm developing as I see the puzzle coming together.

Click Thru's
I will have click thru's to help support admin costs. I learned database development techniques that will prevent over clickers. So no worries there, it's one click per user per day.

Online Services
I'll have online subscriptions for $3.99 a month. That will allow users to post items on any web page. That means one can share a project from anywhere online, and is useful for data backup for those who have the download.

Download
The download is for those who need to work while offline and prefer a desktop program. I'm going to put a $39.99 price tag on it. You don't have to have it to add items now. But it is nice to have when you want to keep everything on your computer at home.

It's been a long Thanksgiving weekend. I spent the whole weekend coding in the features for

Exclusive Craft Board

How it works is a website can make only their items to load into the board. With their most recent items on the top and projects made from their items on the right. The website includes linkbacks to the items in their item panel. So if a user wants to order all the items for the project they are directed back to the website the items came from.

This is only functional in exclusive mode from the browser page. The download lists all the stores that have posted items.

I'm guessing one more week of testing it at beadoroma.com then it will be ready to roll.

Working on the Sellers Panel

I finished most of the post item portion. There are a few things to iron out in that part. But I decided to work on the Sellers panels before I put in the last tid bits there.

I'm guessing this weekend will be spent finishing the sellers panels, (there are 2).
Then next week I hope to tackle the cart. It would be soooo nice to have the cart in by Black Friday. After that I want to make it available for users to add their own items.

Today was a 12 hour day coding.
I got tired and decided to play with a nice bead my mother just bought for her site.

Buggy Beads

I've now finished making item images show in the admin panel while running the app in the browser. Tomorrow I hope to start in on the item post panel. But I found a couple errors on file saving and opening that need my attention.

Last week I decided to reformat some data and remove some pesky characters that are hard to deal with. That threw me back a few days, because a simple reformat can throw off several functions. It's all cleaned up now and better to do it before it gets bigger.

I'm going to target Sunday for the online admin panel to be ready. That's the earliest I get it done. Hopefully the rewrite makes it easier.

Upload for items is done

I have reworked the Item Panel. I've decided to make the admin panel accessible from the browser version also.This should take about a week to perfect. The upload panel was the main object completed. But other little goals were reached too.

I'm hoping to get a code signing cert for the download in January.
Till then the unknown publisher alert will show in the download.

I have inserted a top area for early subscription links and advertising. Plus put an easy join in link.

On the admin panel I have finished the upload items panel. Now the next thing to do is put the data in on the server side. Then the cart is next.

I have had to write my own components for listing items. This tree component was not an easy accomplishment. But it is ready to go. I still have a few more things to accomplish. Like the ability to upload items. For now one can categorize items using the tree kinda like you would the file explorer. But it doesn't make folders per say. Just a list that is viewable in the software.

I wish I could make enough in subscriptions to work on this 10 hours a day. This weekend I put in about 16 hours a day to make sure all the buttons and drag and drop features were functioning. It should be good enough to use. Tonight I will try to tie the subscriptions into the database for immediate access. Right now it's all a manual process which is not tedious, but should still be automated. I'm thinking of putting up a 1/2 off subscription for the first 500 users. I'm also going to put the forum up for user support.

The first download of the craftboard in wood frame panels is up. It's going to take me a month to get the kinks out. But it's workable. I also put the subscription page back and the download page. If you have the download you will get these updated automatically when you open while connected to the internet.

I fixed quite a few things today. And I'm sure there is more. But for now one can add items.

Three items in the edit panel still are being worked on. The shipping, uploading, and off center positioning.
