Finals are Done! Yea!

Now to regroup my Kaleidoscope tool code. I've been procrastinating all day from overload on Monday with school tests. Now I'm ready to jump into it. My goal is to have the tool bar done within 7 days. It will take 12 hours a day, every day. But then there is nothing else to do, so no complaints.

Next week, It's going to be the orders panel. The week after will be finishing the customers panel. Then the weeks after will be loose ends and getting it online.
So wish me luck, and I'll post again next year!

Wow, It's been 6 months!

And what have I done?
1. New expanded tool bar in the craftboard.
2. Tons of coding a newer tool system!
3. More than can be mentioned here!

I have been in school take 2 programming courses, and a math class.
The new goal is to get the new version online by New Years.
And testing done in January.
There is 3 weeks of free coding days this December.

I just finished putting in the ImageGrid, Clip, and Masker tool code this last week.
Next to tackle the Kaleidoscope tool.

Another Success!

I spent 2 days straight coding to get the language translator to allow multiple languages. It's loading, and now to get the files translated. That's the easy part. But more time consuming. I have more server side responses to translate also. But the logic is in. I have a full week of coding time ahead of me. I'm hoping to make some giant strides this week.

Making progress in admin panel

I spent a few days remaking loading code for the as3 admin panel. This afternoon it finally made it far enough so the admin panels are visible. So now the hard part is over, and it's a matter of finding miss referenced items. This September is looking more realistic for the goal of finishing recoding. I'll keep plugging away on it.

It would be nice if I could get it all done this fast. Now to get the search panel to load. I'm racing the clock. I have several ideas I want to start on to make the craft board easier to understand. I'm still aiming for the end of summer to finish the sub panel debugging. The downloads are now loading into the board. I worked on it some more this morning. Only about 20 more to go in the admin panel.

Finally Got the AS3 Frame

I put these milestones in so I can look back and see what I did when. Sometimes I forget how much I have accomplished. So for the track record I have finished the skinnable frame for the application in AS3. It's even better now because it detects if a user moves their taskbar. It does need a couple enhancements. Like remembering the size if the user has reset or minimized. It took 3 days and some research to figure it out.

I'm going to start working on the download code now. Hopefully that will be as easy.

I've been trying to keep up on my coding AND work AND school.

I have been working on issues with the dedicated server.
I conquered the dedicated server problems. Email, FTP, and SSL are functioning for multiple sites. This means I can do some site network scripting. Craftboiard.biz, Jewelereaper.com, and my other sites are all reset.

I will be putting the craftboard at craftboard.net soon. Perlygates will be for showing designed applications.

I did find an error in the download that is not allowing sites to save contact info. I cannot fix it until the AS3 code is in. I apologize for this, but it would overwrite tons of code if I tried to fix it now.

Schools out for spring and I'm back to coding. I hope to get 40 hours of coding in this week. But don't expect to get it up there till this summer. I wish I could do this faster. I'm thinking of taking the summer and only studying self paced math. But undecided still.

Busy Month!!

The first part of January month has been crazy! I decided to take on some classes at the college. I plan on getting a degree in Computer Science. I'm a full time student now. I'm always busy now. I have about 1 hour a day now to work on the Craft Board. This summer I should have 3 hours a day. I'm shooting for August 15th to get the new code up.

I also got a new computer. Suppose to be the fastest on the market. That's speeding everything up. Those compiling seconds can add up to more hours on projects.

I have been coding some these 2 months. But getting it done seems to be a month or 2 away. I have no new updates. I'm guessing January will be really boring and tons of updates will be ready.

Cooky cutter fix

Looks like a one liner broke the cookie cutter tool. That is fixed. I posted a new update with several fixes.

The image grid has been improved. Also the language change is 1/2 in. Still 1000 more lines of code to make it bi-lingual.

I also have some fixes in the import file routine.

Translating for Spanish

I've spent the last 40 hours working on translation code.
I was prompted to start this by a spanish blog I read last week which had a link to the craftboard. Hopefully I'll have the script written and translated in 30 days.
If the spanish translation works, I can also do the other languages that use the ABC and 123 system. But in a shorter time period because I'll use the computer to translate it.

I'm not sure about Chinese or Japanese font's. Or Arabic characters. I'll inquire about it with some teachers I know.

Masking Fix and Selections by coords upgrade

I have been having so much trouble with masking that I re-made the whole system for making masks. The previous files that used masks will no longer work. But now the bounds should be correct and the hit area for each masked item should only include the area that shows. I also re-made the selection process so it doesn't have to look through all items on the board to find what was selected. This was a real hassle if many things are an the board. It's not implemented yet till I test it a little more.

I hope to have the update posted tomorrow.

That was a tough one find! Very inconspicuous. It took 2 1/2 hours on finding it!

I guess I will search for more bugs today. I don't have any more fixes to do.

I want to put in a list box in the login panel that displays users names. So you don't have to type them in.

Kaleidoscope fix on boundaries

I had timming issue with kaleidoscopes boundaries. That is fixed. Also now the cookie cutter can use groups to cut shapes. Just a little tweaking some code to get that happening.

I found an error when loading clips that have masks. They don't work if the clip is not on the canvas. So will look at that tonight.

Fixed the snap grid and clear grid selections routines

Seems I made a couple insertion errors with the grid. So snap to grid in the plotter tool is fixed and also the clear grid selection button for grids is fixed. I also input a prompt to make a grid if using the plotter tool.

Looks like my boundary fix had a typo in it. That prevented the clip from loading. Fixed that.

I think the next thing I should do is make a list of users pop into the login panel. So people can choose a user name instead of remembering it.

Changed the tipping routine

This tips rollovers should show quickly then clear back to the overwritten message. I also change the grid attach tool to be a little more descriptive. Chalk up another 5 hours today.

Blaming it on the leprechauns

I found a dumb mistake in the grids this morning. Not sure how a line of code was moved but it really screwed up the add grid routine. So it's fixed now.

New Help Video on Image Grids

Image Grids are simply an image that is divided up into blocks. And the area of the image is searched to find an average color for that area. After all the blocks are set over the image you can drop an item on a block. Then the rest of the image is searched to find more blocks that are near the same and drop the same item there.

The purpose of the Image Grid is to allow portrait or image pattern designing. It can be used with seedbeads, or designing stitch patterns.

I decided to open the designers plan to everyone. Also I changed the other plans to allow for a 6 mo. trial period. This will allow free time to build a store for those who want to sell items. Developement of version 3 is coming along a little each day. I also fixed an error in the file saving and image uploading.

Not sure what happened with the bounds when selecting and deseleting. But seems it's not resetting reselected items correctly. So I guess I'll rehash that code. Fun! Fun! I'm still working the tool classes into AS3. I have 3 days this weekend for another 30 hours on the project. I've also been rethinking the interface when I'm tired of typing.

Fixed Category Creation Problem

I switched back to AS2 mode and noticed an update error that prevented making categories. It is fixed. Let me know if you find any more.
