Bloody New Year is a 1987 horror movie directed by Norman J. Warren and starring Suzy Aitchison,Colin Heywood, Mark Powley, Nikki Brooks, Catherine Roman and Julian Ronnie.

The movie begins in 1959 on New Year's Eve. A woman gets pulled into a mirror. Cut to present day and young people on the beach. They go to the funfair. Some guys are tormenting a girl. Some young guys intervene and there is an argument. The bullies are called Dad, Ace and The Bear. The youngsters manage to escape. They are Spud(Heywood), Carol(Roman), Rick(Powley), Janet(Brooks), Leslie(Aitchison) and Tom(Ronnie). They are in a boat and it hits a rock. It begins to sink. They jump into the water and find an island. Someone is watching them. They discover a hotel on the island. It is July but the hotel is decorated for Christmas. It is called Grand Island Hotel. A maid(Val Graham) shows up. Spud looks around. He hears music playing. Someone is playing the guitar and singing but they disappear.

The group discover clothes from the 1950's. They search for a power source and get the power going in the hotel. They decide to dress in the old clothes and hear a movie playing. It is called Fiend without a Face. It is set at the hotel but years earlier. A guy emerges from the screen and kills Spud. Everyone is upset. Leslie and Tom find a cottage. Leslie gets caught up in a fishing net. A creature tries to kill her. Tom stabs it. Rick and Janet hear voices and run down to the beach where they discover ghostly footprints. They witness an explosion. Rick sees a ghostly pilot. Carol finds a house and looks around. There is a room filled with snow and then there is a blizzard. Carol gets covered in snow. Suddenly it is gone and she is outside. Everyone meets up and Leslie tells them that something happened to Tom.

The three bullies show up on the island. One of them fights Rick and tries to attack Leslie but she is a ghost now. The others try to destroy her. Rick, Janet and Carol are left. They run to the hotel. They can hear Leslie at the door. The bullies come for them again but Leslie kills one and Carol attacks the other. Leslie explains that they are stuck in some sort of time warp which was caused by a plane crashing on the island. Lesley wants Janet but Rick shoots her. Tom stumbles in. He is delirious. Rick and Carol go to get a boat as they are chased by the others who have turned into ghosts. They find the bullies boat but Rick gets killed by one of the ghosts. Carol is alone and she gets pulled underwater. She ends up in a mirror in the ballroom of the hotel where her friends are celebrating New Year's Eve.

This is a really weird film, I thought. It was interesting in parts but nothing amazing. I did like the poster though. I think that was better than the movie itself. I will give this one a 4/10.

He is a writer and he is there to ask questions about the murder. The police don't have any clues. There is a place in Scotland Yard called the 'Black Museum' and the binoculars seem to come from there. Bancroft goes to an anitque shop and he sees a dagger which he buys and places into his own museum with his friend, Rick. It emerges that Bancroft has more items in his morbid collection. He is very interested in objects that have a bloody past.

Bancroft is being seen by a doctor who thinks that he should be in hospital because he is obsessed with the killing. He falls out with his lover, Joan and she ends up dead. The police come. The residents tell them that the man they saw was old. A kid spotted Bancroft. She tells the police, but they don't take her seriously. Joan's head is missing. Bancroft goes to the antique shop and talks to the lady who works there. She has something for him. She tells him that he needs to pay her for all the help that she has given him. She knows that he is associated with the murders. He makes a bargain with her but he kills her after. He ends up murdering the doctor also because the doctor has figured out that he is the killer. Rick helps him dispose of the body. Rick isn't very happy about it. Bancroft catches Rick with Angela. She wants to know more about the work that Rick does with Bancroft. Bancroft is furious and tells him that women cannot be trusted.

Bancroft injects Rick with something. He tells Rick that he will leave everything to Rick and he wants him to take over his 'work' when he is gone. He also tells Rick to get rid of Angela. Angela is afraid of Bancroft. Rick takes her to the funfair and he kills her. He runs off and the police are after him. Bancroft is at the police station with his new book. He hears them receive a phone call. Rick is on the ferris wheel. Bancroft rushes there and talks to him. Rick tells him that he did everything Bancroft told him and jumps off the ferris wheel, killing himself but not before killing Bancroft. The police realise what was happening and they solve the murders.

This is a good film with a fine cast. There is plenty to like about it. It has a good story and is very entertaining. Michael Gough is good in the lead role. I recommend this one and I will give it a 6/10.

The manager is called Lattimer(Thorley Walters) and he and Lord D'Arcy(Gough) sit together. D'Arcy is unhappy that one box is empty because it is supposed to be haunted. Someone has sabotaged the music. Maria is on stage when a dead body falls down near her. She is terrified and refuses to sing again. Harry has to hold auditions for a replacement. The phantom is watching. A woman called Christine Charles(Sears)is hired. D'Arcy likes her. He invites her to dinner with him. She hears a voice speaking to her. It tells her that she will sing only for him and it warns her about D'Arcy.

D'Arcy comes on to her. Christine doesn't like it. She asks Harry to come with her. D'Arcy loses interest. Christine tells Harry about the voice she heard. They go to the theatre to find out more. The voice speaks again. It warns Harry. He warns him to leave before something happens. Christine sees the phantom. Harry finds out about a Professor Petrie(Lom) who burned to death. Harry is interested in this and he finds out that the Professor didn't actually die. He got burned by acid and he has been missing since. Harry goes to the police and asks about the fire. The police tell him that the man went into the river. Christine gets taken by the phantom who is Professor Petrie. He also has a dwarf working for him. He tells her that he will teach her to sing. He tells her that she will be the greatest. She will sing only for him.

Harry manages to fight him off and finds the Professor and Christine. Petrie tells him that D'Arcy cheated him out of his music and passed it off as his own. Petrie broke into the printers to stop them from printing his music and caused a fire. He got burned badly by acid. He jumped into the river for relief and he was washed into the sewer where he met the dwarf who looked after him. He is now dying and he wants to hear Christine sing his music before he dies. They agree to help him fulfil his dying wish.

Petrie pays a visit to D'Arcy who is horrified by his face. Petrie goes to the theatre and hears his music being performed by Christine. He is happy. He stands in the haunted box. The dwarf is up in the rafters listening to the music when he gets disturbed by someone. He walks over a chandelier and it begins to fall. Christine is about to be hit but Petrie jumps in front of her and saves her life. He dies in the process. This is a good film. It is of course a classic story and this version is very entertaining. The cast are very good and there are some familiar faces. I definitely recommend this one as it is directed by Terence Fisher who directed some horror classics such as The Curse of Frankenstein and Dracula(1958). It gets a 6/10.

Amityville Apartment(2025) Movie Review

Trailer here.

Amityville Apartment is a 2025 horror movie directed by various directors and starring various actors.

The film begins with a man performing a ritual in his apartment. He calls for Satan. Cut to a priest coming to bless the apartment later. A couple are living in it but strange things are happening at their complex. They feel a presence there. The evil interferes with the priest and he ends up becoming possessed by it. Next we see a woman called Lavina(Kassandra Escandell) who is searching for zodiac signs to take her back to the 1600's. Zelda(Brinke Stevens) and Luna(Chantal Casutt) are helping . Cut back to 1950's Amityville, A group of friends go to a palm reader. There are weirdos in there and Lavinia is also there. The girls end up being killed.

Next story begins with a guy in one of the apartments who gets a note saying 'beware'. He writes a note saying 'of what?' and slides it under his door. He gets a reply on bloodstained paper. It says 'me'. Something evil drags him off. Next tale begins with a dad and his daughter. They discuss her dead mother's occult collection. They know someone who might take it off their hands. The dad finds a figure and he takes it out. It is a statue of a demon. It freezes people who mess with it. The demon emerges from the statue and the dad hits it. The dad and daughter show it it's own reflection in the mirror and it freezes itself, end of story.

In a new apartment, a girl called Carly(Jacquelyn Stern) gets a present outside her door. It's a jack in the box. She takes a photo of herself and there is a clown behind her. Next, a balloon floats in. She hides in the closet. The clown shows up and ties her up. In the next story, a musician called Jeff(Jared Rivet) gets a call. His boss sends him a video to help with his work. The video is weird. There is some sort of ritual happening and it has music. A weird creature sees him. Jeff tries to recreate the music. He starts to see and hear things. The creature shows up at his apartment. He runs away. He gets a call from his boss. She wants him to have the music written. He has lost a day. The creature pulls him away. It ends with Jeff being inside the video as the creature is going to kill him.

In the final story, a woman called Jody(Nicole Cinaglia) is hearing noises in her apartment. She is on the phone with her sister. The sister tells her to look around and see. There is nothing there. A figure is actually in her apartment. Jody hears voices. A woman called Jackie(Maria Shapley) hears screaming. She and her boyfriend talk about the Amityville story . She is worried . The apartment is built on the same land as the original house. The boyfriend laughs at her. Jackie hears voices telling her to kill the boyfriend. She gets her gun and shoots him and then herself.

I hardly know where to start with this film. It uses the Amityville name but is very loosely connected to that house. The stories are just thrown together and there aren't many scares or tense moments. The only story I really liked was the clown one. That could have made a decent film by itself. There were too many stories and they weren't fleshed out properly. I think they could have cut out a few and made the okay ones better. That's why I am giving this one a 3/10.

He goes out in a boat and tries to draw it out. It is too clever. It knocks the boat and Bob gets eaten by the shark. Ernie tells Bull that he is not going to do the job but Bull threatens him. Ernie and Jimmy decide to go down and get the gold while Clara is on the shore. They lure the shark by putting meat into the water. They find it and try to bring it up but the shark sees them.

It attacks Ernie. Jimmy harpoons it. It goes after Ernie again and he stabs it with a knife. He dies. Jimmy is furious about it. He attacks one of Bull's lackies. Clara is going to go and retrieve the loot. She dives and loads up some of the gold. The shark is lurking. She hides from it and she finds a gun in the sunken van. The shark gets itself stuck inside the van after going to get her. The gold is brought to the surface. A cop shows up and confronts the group. He shoots one of the gang and this makes Bull shoot him. There is a big fight between Jimmy and one of the gang. Clara ends up shooting him. Bull gets his machine gun out and he tries to kill Jimmy and Clara. They dive into the water. He gets into a boat and he follows them. He shoots into the water. Clara shakes the boat and it knocks him into the water.

Jimmy escapes. Clara pulls Bull down into the water. The shark is approaching. Clara gets into the boat and she gets the gun and shoots at him. The shark does the job for her. Bull becomes shark food. Jimmy and Clara survive. Cut to some time later and Jimmy and Clara are still working at the diving company. Ernie had a will and he left the company to Jimmy. The bank gives them a reward and they intend to buy a boat with it. This was an unusual shark story. It is a mixture of thriller and monster movie. It was set in the 1940's also which made it different. I liked it though. The shark scenes were not bad and the cast did their job well. There was a familiar face in this. Jake Ryan played Robbo in Home and Away for a few years. I recommend this and give it a 5/10.

Splatter Farm (1987)Movie Review

2026-05-02T21:33:00.001+01:00

Splatter Farm is a 1986 horror film directed by John and Mark Polonia and Todd Smith and stars the same three guys.

A guy is dismembering a body. He uses the severed hand to masturbate. Two guys Joseph(John Polonia) and his brother Alan(Mark Polonia) are visiting their Aunt Lacey. She has a farmhand living with her called Jeremy (Smith), who just happens to be a killer. He has dead bodies in the barn. He is a total weirdo. Aunt Lacey is weird too. Jeremy is claiming victims all over the place.

Jeremy dances around with a skin mask on . Aunt Lacey knows all about it and is messing around with her husband's corpse. Of course, Jeremy killed him.Alan and Joseph look around the farm and find a bloody boot. They run to the house to call the police. The phone isn't working. Aunt Lacey drugs and sleeps with Alan. Joseph finds a human skull and tells Alan. They try to leave but the car won't start. Alan goes to sleep and Joseph talks to Jeremy who hits him. He drags him off and ties him up and tortures him.

Joseph is stabbed and buried alive. Next day, Alan looks for his brother. He asks Jeremy, who just smiles. Alan finds Joseph's glasses and fears the worst. Jeremy shoots him. Aunt Lacey tells him that Jeremy is the result of rape by her brother. Jeremy gets angry and kills her too. The movie ends with him dancing around. Let me just say that I have enjoyed many low budget films. I like them, but this is something else. I know it's not a professionally made movie but it is so bad that it stinks. There is nothing about this that I like. The acting is woeful. There is no story. It is just so bad that it was hard to sit through it . The filmmakers might not have had much of a budget but that is no excuse for such a bad movie. 1/10.

He has Bailey(Park) who is a filmmaker and Grace(Stringer) who is also a biologist with him. They meet Matt(Gilshenan) who is a park ranger. The three head off into the wilderness. They are putting camers around to keep an eye on the animals. There is a hunter out at night shooting kangaroo. He hears something moving around in the trees. He goes to investigate and gets killed.

The group retrieve their cameras. They decide to walk in the forest . Ben calls birds but there are none which is unusual. They discover one of the cameras which has been knocked down. They also find animal remains. They look at the camera footage. Something weird is on it. They think it might be some kind of feral animal. They call the park ranger and tell him. He goes to meet them. Bailey finds scratches on a tree. It looks like claw marks. Ben and Grace set trps to lure the creatuee out. Matt finds the hunters camp and looks around. Ben thinks that it might be a carnifex which is an extinct creature. Grace doesn't believe it. Matt ends up meeting it and he dies. The others wonder where he went. The carnifex shows up and the group see it. Grace and Ben are delighted.

Their delight doesn't last long as they both get attacked by the creature. Bailey is alone and gets to the car. She tries to hide from the creature. Ben finds himself in a tree. He is injured, as is Grace. Ben gets eaten by it. It wants Grace next. She manages to find Bailey and the two go to find Ben but it is too late. They get back to the car and try and escape. The car gets stuck and they can't go. Bailey shines a light and she hits it. It drags her off. They have a shotgun with one shot left in it. Grace shoots it and it runs off. The survivors head off.

This is a fun creature feature. There is lots of action and it is good overall. The ending is a little flat but it is an interesting tale. I will give it a 5/10.

Shawn shoots at the killer. Matthew kills him. Jennifer spots them and sees Laura sending Matthew to kill her. Kane isn't dead and he decides to burn down the barn with Laura, Matthew and himself inside. It goes up in flames and Jennifer survives.

This was a decent slasher movie with some fun scenes. The acting wasn't very good but I suppose that's normal with these lower budget movies. It is entertaining though and I recommend it to fans of 80's slashers. I give it a 5/10.

A group of friends are on holiday together. It is Elise's(Larsen Thompson) birthday. The group leave and their fortunes start to come true.Elise hears a bang at her door. She hears someone is playing tricks on her. It is no trick when the figure from her tarot card is waiting for her and kills her. Each of the group start to find their tarot figures coming to life. The cops talk to them about what's going on. They think they are accidents. Haley thinks the readings influenced the deaths. Grant doesn't believe it. Haley finds an expert, Alma(Olwen Fouere) and tells her what is going on. She doesn't want to know. When she hears about the deaths, she tells them about the haunted tarot cards.

She knows of others who died from using the cards but she survived it. She has been searching for the cards to destroy them. The cards are cursed. They need to destroy them. More of the gang die as they try to get the cards and destroy them. They burn them and call Alma. Alma calls an astrologer who reads Alma's fortune. She kills her. Haley and Grant are left. Haley meets the astrologer and does a reading. Haley faces off with her. There's some silly story about grief and the astrologer ends up disappearing along with the cards. Grant, Haley and Paxton survive.

I liked the premise of this one. It sounded good but the execution was not so good. There wasn't anything in this that was great. It felt long and dull in parts. It's one of those ok films but not great. I will give it a 4/10.

Jeffries is arrested for his crimes. Mary is rescued and Jeffries is thrown into prison where he dies.

This film was entertaining. The cast were good of course. It kind of reminded me of Witchfinder General in some ways. It was a little slow in parts but it is certainly worth watching. Christopher Lee is always great so I am giving it a 6/10.

Andrew tells them that the cat attacked him. Tabitha goes to see Beth and she pets it and it likes her. When Clara appears, the cat gets angry and vicious. Walter sends for his brother, Edgar(Richard Warner) and his son Jacob(Lucas).Jacob brings his wife, Louise(Vanda Godsell) with him. Clara is worried about the cat. Beth asks her what is going on. Walter informs his family about the cat and he orders them to kill it. Tabitha and Beth have no problems at all. She calls Latimer and tells him that she is frightened of what is happening in the house. Michael Latimer thinks that the cat knows what happened to Ella.

Tabitha is making the culprits feel guilty. Michael tells her that he thinks that Walter is behind it all. Edgar and Jacob find the cat and trap it in a bag. Andrew runs off with it and goes into the woods but it escapes. The cat leads him to a swamp. Andrew falls in and dies. Tabitha returns to the house. The cat sits on Walter's bed. He has a heart attack and dies. The Inspector and Michael arrive. Edgar has a will that leaves everything to him. Michael thinks that Ella was killed and the cat witnessed it. The Inspector asks about the will and he wants to search the house for it. The cat comes in and runs upstairs. Jacob chases it. He goes onto the roof and falls off. Edgar is searching for another will. Michael and Beth are searching too. Edgar finds Ella's box and the cat comes in. He chases it and he gets hit by a beam. The box is found. Beth is the one who was supposed to inherit Ella's estate. Tabitha leads the police to Ella's body. The house is sold and the new occupants are moving in. Puss is there, looking for a new family.

This was a really good movie. I liked the idea of the cat witnessing the murder and making sure that the guilty are punished. The cast were great and there were some really great moments in this one. Interesting note- this is actually a Hammer movie. I recommend this and I am giving a 7/10.

Kevin and Kristi go to his place in the desert. Kristi finds a clown mask in his trunk. She realises that Kevin was the real killer. He has a gun and he tells her that he used to be a professional clown. He tries to kill her and she ends up shooting him. He isn't dead though and he comes back to finish her off when he is shot dead by Meyers who found them just in time. This is a decent thriller/horror. It has some good stuff in it even though it is a little cheesy in parts. I think that it is worth a look and I will give it a 5/10.

Fangs of the Living Dead(1969)Movie Review

A local person tells her that Count Walbrooke is expecting her. He is her uncle. She meets him and she looks around the castle. Sylvia is visited by a servant, Blinka(Adriana Ambesi) who seems to be about to bite her when the count appears and he is really angry. He takes her away and whips her.

Sylvia realises that Blinka is a vampire. She wants to leave but the Count doesn't want her to. A relative of Sylvia's was called Malenka and she was burned at the stake for being a witch. He tells her of some family curse which means she has to stay at the castle and can't marry. Sylvia breaks off her engagement to Dr. Luciani. Luciani and his firend Max go to the castle to see her. She won't see them. The locals are superstitious. They know that something dodgy is going on. The Count is snacking on some of the local ladies. He wants to dine on Sylvia next.

The Count tells her to drink his blood. Syvlia rescues Blinka from the dungeon. Blinka tells her that there is a tunnel . She enters it but gets caught by a girl vampire called Berta. She runs but the vamp lady is on her heels. Sylvia goes to the inn where Luciani and Max are. She tells them about Berta. They talk to the local doctor about it and he tells them to get a sharp wooden stake and stake the vamps with it.The doctor, Luciani, Max go to Bertha's grave. He is going to get Sylvia declared insane because he wants the castle for himself. Blinka warns Sylvia that the vampire thing is all a lie. Luciani kills the Count and he burns. A portrait of Malenka burns too.

This is a film that is very light on plot. It is not bad in parts and I did like the ending. This is made by the same guy who directed Tombs of the Blind Dead, which is why I watched it. It is a fun Spanish movie and worth a look if you enjoy Euro horror. I will give it a 5/10.

Alligator(1980) Movie Review

2026-01-30T20:08:00.001+00:00

Trailer here.

Alligator is a 1980 horror movie directed by Lewis Teague and starring Robert Forster, Robin Riker and Michael V. Gazzo.

The movie begins with a girl buying a baby alligator. Her father throws it down the toilet and it ends up in the sewer. Twelve years later, A cop called Madison(Forster) is working on a case where the remains of a body have been found. A man who has a pet shop has been dumping dead dogs in the sewer. The alligator has been living on them and has ingested the chemicals which were used, resulting in it becoming huge and hungry. The pet shop owner has been bringing them to a pharma company who are using them in experiments. Madison is investigating them. He goes into the sewers to see what is going on. He brings an officer with him. They look around and spot the alligator and they run. The officer gets taken by the alligator.

Madison wakes up in the hospital. He wants to find his officer. He visits an alligator specialist, Dr. Kendall(Riker). She just happens to be the same girl who bought the alligator all those years ago. She is interested in finding it too. A journalist is poking his nose around and he is interested in Madison. He wants to know what happened to the officer and he goes into the sewers and meets the alligator who eats him for dinner. He had taken pictures, though, and the alligator is in them. The police and swat teams decide to go into the sewers and get the monster. Kendall shows up. The cops don't find the giant alligator. It breaks out of the sewer and roams the streets.

The cops look for it as it wanders around. Madison gets suspended because of a rich man called Slade(Dean Jagger). He is the one who has been bankrolling the experiments and he doesn't want the cops to discover what has been going on. The alligator ends up eating some more people and it heads for Slade's house where it wreaks havoc. It attacks his guests and Slade, killing them. Madison and Kendall realise it is going back into the sewers. Madison goes in after it. It comes at him. He sets a bomb and it attacks him. He tries to get out and is saved by Kendall. They escape and the bomb goes off , killing the alligator. Of course, this isn't the end of the story as there are baby alligators down there...

This is a fun monster movie. There is a huge alligator and lots of action. I think that you get exactly what you expect and that's okay here. It's entertaining and I liked the cast. I will give it a 5/10.

Don't Open the Door is a 1974 horror movie directed by S.F.Brownrigg and starring Susan Bracken and Larry O'Dwyer.

The movie begins with a woman called Amanda(Bracken) who gets a call to come and visit her grandmother, Harriet, who is not very well. A friend of hers called Nick(Hugh Feagin) comes to visit her and she tells him that she is going to her hometown of Allerton. She hasn't been there for thirteen years after her mother was murdered. Amanda witnessed it but the killer did not kill her too. Amanda goes to visit the grandmother and she meets Doctor Crawther(Jim Harrell). He tells her that Harriet is very ill. Amanda meets Judge Stemple(Gene Ross) and he tells her about a local man called Claude Kearn(O'Dwyer). The judge tells her that Kearn wants her grandmother's house once she passes away.

Amanda is not happy about her grandmother's state of health. She calls Nick. She receives a weird phone call from someone who is watching her. Grandma mumbles something about a museum. Amanda goes to visit the local museum and she meets Claude. He shows her a mannequin that looks exactly like her mother. She finds this odd. Afterwards, Kearn visits the judge and they talk about what the judge and Crawther did to Harriet. The Judge goes to visit Amanda and he tells he that he also wants the house. She refuses to sell it. He is not happy with her. Crawther is called to the musuem at night and he is supposed to meet the judge, He gets killed by Kearn.

Kearn is sick. He calls Amanda and he tells her that her mother was evil and that she deserved to die. Amanda is scared. A woman called Annie turns up at the house. She asks about Harriet. Amanda gets another phone call. Kearn threatens her. He wants her to do strange things for him while he plays with his doll. She calls Nick but he is busy and he tells her to get some sleep. Kearn spikes her drink and the Judge shows up . He gets hit on the head by Kearn. Amanda wakes up and she looks for Nick. Kearn calls her again. She tells him that he is sick. The Judge shows up and confronts her. She thinks that he is the one who called her. She tells him about the sick calls. The judge goes to talk to Kearn and meets his end.

Amanda is upset. Nick follows her and she kills him in a moment of madness. She has lost the plot and is crazy. The phone rings and it is Kearn. He won't stop calling her. Amanda just laughs now. She is mad. This was a fun film. It had an interesting story and some weirdness. I recommend it as it is enjoyable. I will give it a 5/10.

Hello everyone from Amanda at Jigsaw's Lair Blog. I want to wish all my readers a Happy Christmas and New Year! I am taking a break over the festive period but I will be back in the New Year for more reviews. I have been making my way through some seasonal horror movies and of course, some non horror Christmas movies. Christmas Vacation is always on my list for this time of year along with classics like Gremlins, It's A Wonderful Life, Holiday Inn, Home Alone. Of course, Black Christmas from 1974 is always my favourite go to festive horror movie. It has everything that I want in a spooky Christmas movie. It wouldn't be Christmas without it.

Some others I like to watch are Silent Night, Deadly Night from 1984, Christmas Bloody Christmas, All Through the House, Christmas Evil, Don't Open Till Christmas, To All a Goodnight and more. So, I have a list ready and lots to watch. I hope that you all have a great Christmas and that you get to watch lots of movies. Don't forget that Die Hard and Lethal Weapon are actually Christmas movies!!! So include them in your Christmas list. Enjoy it, however you celebrate it and I will be back in 2026 for another year of movies!!

Trailer here.

Grave of the Vampire is a 1972 horror movie directed by John Hayes and starring William Smith and Lyn Peters.

The film opens with a grave opening. It is the grave of a man called Caleb Croft (Michael Pataki). He has come back to life. A couple called Paul and Leslie are in the graveyard and they hear the coffin opening. The corpse attacks them. It bites Paul's neck and it drags Leslie into the grave and rapes her. It then runs off to hide. An old guy goes to the cops and tells them what happened. Lieutenant Panzer(Eric Mason) is on the case. He visits Leslie in hospital and he shows her mugshots. She sees Croft in one of them and she gets upset. It turns out that in life he was a rapist.

Croft kills a woman. Leslie discovers that she is pregnant. The doctor tells her that the baby is not alive and it is not human. He wants her to have an abortion. Leslie will not. Panzer goes to the grave of Croft and he looks around. It is empty. Croft returns and kills Panzer. Leslie gives birth to her baby. It is a boy. The baby enjoys the taste of blood. Leslie cuts herself and draws blood for her son. The boy, James(Smith) grows up and his mother dies. He knows about Caleb Croft, who seems to be his father. He wants to destroy him. He enrols in school and he meets a classmate called Anita. Caleb is still killing people. A man called Professor Lockwood(Pataki) is teaching the class which is about the occult and stuff like that. Anita begins to talk about Caleb Croft.

A woman valled Anne(Peters) is a friend of Anita's. She is in the class also. James likes her more than Anita, They kiss. Anita wants to be a vampire and Professor Lockwood comes to see her. He is actually Caleb Croft. He promises her that he will make her a vampire. He ends up killing her. Anne finds her friend dead. Croft shows up and he confronts her. She screams. James hears her and he comes to help her. Professor Lockwood is having a seance. He chooses Anne as the medium. He calls his wife from the grave. Anita comes through. She wants to possess Anne. She tells everyone that Lockwood is a vampire. James takes Anne away. Lockwood faces the others. He admits to being Caleb Croft. He starts killing people. James and Croft fight. James tells him who he is. He kills his father. Anne comes and he tells her to run as he has become a vampire too.

This film wasn't great. It was fun to watch, but I found it a little dull in parts. Maybe it just wasn't for me. I will give it a 4/10.
