&lt;p&gt;Existing users just need to copy the generated code and paste it into the page(s) on their site where they want to add video. &lt;h4&gt;Under the hood&lt;/h4&gt;
&lt;p&gt;SublimeVideo’s Video Code Generator includes some powerful features to assist users in resolving common problems they may face when creating their own &amp;lt;video&amp;gt; elements:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;h4&gt;1. Incorrectly configured &lt;span class="caps"&gt;MIME&lt;/span&gt; Types&lt;/h4&gt;
&lt;p&gt;If a source is hosted and served with the incorrect &lt;span class="caps"&gt;MIME&lt;/span&gt; Type, the video simply won’t play.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The Video Code Generator automatically detects the video source’s &lt;span class="caps"&gt;MIME&lt;/span&gt; Type and informs the user if their Web server needs to be reconfigured.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;h4&gt;2. Incorrectly configured &amp;lt;video&amp;gt; elements&lt;/h4&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A common example of a &amp;lt;video&amp;gt; element being configured incorrectly would be when its width or height values don’t retain the source’s aspect ratio, resulting in a letterboxed/pillarboxed player (black bars around the video).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The Video Code Generator detects the original size and aspect ratio of the source file(s) and automatically provides the user with correctly proportioned width and height values. It also fixes other common configuration issues such as incorrect ordering of the &amp;lt;source&amp;gt; elements.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;h4&gt;3. Malformed &amp;lt;video&amp;gt; code&lt;/h4&gt;
&lt;p&gt;It’s common to see the &amp;lt;video&amp;gt; code formatted incorrectly. For example, being split across multiple lines or missing small elements of the code itself.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The Video Code Generator always generates properly formatted &amp;lt;video&amp;gt; elements, so our users no longer have to worry about formatting details.&lt;/p&gt;

It’s been a special week for us, first with SublimeVideo being awarded both the &lt;a href="http://blog.jilion.com/2012/04/02/sublimevideo-awarded-most-promising-disruptive-tv-start-up-at-mipcube-lab-2012"&gt;MIPCube Lab Jury Prize&lt;/a&gt; and &lt;a href="http://blog.jilion.com/2012/04/03/vivendi-awards-sublimevideo-its-coup-de-coeur-prize-at-mipcube-lab-2012"&gt;Vivendi’s “Coup de Coeur” Prize&lt;/a&gt; at MIPCube 2012 over the weekend.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Last night the team attended the Awards Ceremony for the “Trophées &lt;span class="caps"&gt;PERL&lt;/span&gt; 2012 Entrepreneurship Prize for the Lausanne Region” and &lt;strong&gt;Jilion was awarded 1st Prize for SublimeVideo&lt;/strong&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The “Trophées PERL” Prize is held annually to discover companies working on the four most innovative projects in our home region. The 2012 ceremony was especially significant as it marked the competition’s tenth year.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Margaret is a professional photographer and director in Los Angeles, California. She’s worked with a range of well-known brands, musicians and publications including Nike, Canon, Toyota, Juliette Lewis, Queens of the Stone Age and Billboard Magazine.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Margaret’s site was developed by web designer and developer David Andrews (&lt;a href="http://www.madeofpixels.ca"&gt;Made of Pixels&lt;/a&gt;).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;blockquote&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;img src="http://blog.medias.jilion.com/uploads/2012/02/margaret_malandruccolo.jpg" alt="Margaret Malandruccolo" class="no_rounded" style="float:left;margin:7px 22px 0 0" /&gt; “SublimeVideo ensured the player looked consistent across all browsers, including the HTML5 and Flash modes. We felt it was important not to detract from the surrounding content, so a player that looked different in various forms wasn&amp;#8217;t an option.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;SublimeVideo&amp;#8217;s &lt;span class="caps"&gt;API&lt;/span&gt; was flexible enough to allow for the site&amp;#8217;s desired presentation of motion content, and worked seamlessly for both the Flash and HTML5 versions of the player. Other players had different ways to communicate with each implementation (Flash vs. HTML5), or they were still in beta.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Automatic updates meant the player always incorporated the latest enhancements and bug fixes, without the need to check for and replace an older version of the player on the site. This ensures users always get the latest version of the player, without any action on their part or ours.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Finally, it was dead simple to add video content to the site and have it work as needed, especially considering we use only one video instance for multiple thumbnails. Easy integration makes for happy programmers.”&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/blockquote&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;span class="caps"&gt;VDMX&lt;/span&gt; is a realtime multimedia performance application developed by New York-based Mac software company &lt;span class="caps"&gt;VIDVOX&lt;/span&gt;. &lt;span class="caps"&gt;VDMX&lt;/span&gt; has been used in concert with The Beastie Boys, The Grateful Dead, Phoenix and Aphex Twin, and by many other musicians, design firms, theater groups, and experimental filmmakers around the world.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Former &lt;span class="caps"&gt;VIDVOX&lt;/span&gt; co-manager Jack Turner’s design agency &lt;a href="http://jackadam.net"&gt;jackadam&lt;/a&gt; produced the website for &lt;span class="caps"&gt;VDMX&lt;/span&gt; and &lt;span class="caps"&gt;VIDVOX&lt;/span&gt;. They chose SublimeVideo to showcase a variety of high-quality videos of &lt;span class="caps"&gt;VDMX&lt;/span&gt; in action, ranging from live audiovisual performances to motion graphics and segments of animated work produced with the software.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;blockquote&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;img src="http://blog.medias.jilion.com/uploads/2012/02/jack_turner_vidvox.jpg" alt="Jack Turner - jackadam" class="no_rounded" style="float:left;margin:7px 22px 0 0" /&gt; “SublimeVideo was absolutely crucial in pulling off the video gallery on &lt;span class="caps"&gt;VIDVOX&lt;/span&gt;.net for a multitude of reasons. Being able to control how the videos were compressed was a requirement from the get-go. Video art &amp;amp; concert video tends to involve a lot of quick cuts, fast motion and/or stroboscopic effects and all of these require carefully tuned compression-settings to keep the video from becoming “artifact salad”. If we had gone with a hosted video service, many of these videos would have just looked like total mush. Video art and hosted video services just don&amp;#8217;t mix well.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;We also required something that had an easy to use JavaScript &lt;span class="caps"&gt;API&lt;/span&gt; &amp;#8211; mucking directly with &amp;lt;video&amp;gt; elements would have consumed an unfathomable amount of development time. With SublimeVideo it only took a couple of lines of JS to create a video player when the lights go down, and one more line to destroy it when you return to the rest of the site.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;HD support and stats didn&amp;#8217;t even exist when we started the site but we quickly integrated both of these. Getting new features and expanded browser continuously is a godsend when dealing with something like video on the web.”&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/blockquote&gt;

&lt;p&gt;SublimeVideo gives our users instant access to a range of statistics about their videos, all in &lt;strong&gt;real-time&lt;/strong&gt;. This simply wouldn&amp;#8217;t be possible without SublimeVideo&amp;#8217;s cloud-based infrastructure.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In addition, SublimeVideo Player reports consistent statistics from all platforms (HTML5 and Flash on both desktop and mobile). Because of this, we&amp;#8217;re able to collect data from all devices and present a comprehensive, &lt;strong&gt;universal&lt;/strong&gt; overview of a user’s site&amp;#8217;s video traffic. &lt;h4&gt;Under the hood&lt;/h4&gt;
&lt;p&gt;We built a sophisticated architecture to power SublimeVideo’s Real-Time Statistics; SublimeVideo Player &amp;#8216;reports&amp;#8217; every load / play. Then, every 60 seconds, our &lt;a href="http://heroku.com"&gt;Heroku&lt;/a&gt;-hosted &lt;a href="http://rubyonrails.org"&gt;Rails&lt;/a&gt; backend workers parse and separate statistics logs by time period (days / hours / minutes), before storing them in a &lt;a href="http://www.mongodb.org"&gt;MongoDB&lt;/a&gt; database.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;These stats are then displayed on the user&amp;#8217;s stats dashboard (which is implemented using Rails, &lt;a href="http://documentcloud.github.com/backbone/"&gt;Backbone.js&lt;/a&gt; and &lt;a href="http://coffeescript.org"&gt;CoffeeScript&lt;/a&gt;). The graphs automatically refresh themselves every 60 seconds, so there&amp;#8217;s no need to manually refresh the page.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;We use a different setup for stats from the last 60 seconds (available only with paid plans); here, SublimeVideo Player ‘reports’ plays / loads to our Ruby async server (&lt;a href="http://cramp.in"&gt;Cramp&lt;/a&gt;), also hosted on Heroku.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Plays and loads over the last 60 seconds are stored on the same MongoDB database and pushed directly &amp;#8211; in real time &amp;#8211; to the user’s stats dashboard via &lt;a href="http://pusher.com"&gt;Pusher&lt;/a&gt;. Keeping the period covering the last 60 seconds in sync everywhere was a nice technical challenge; we created a tiny &amp;#8216;ticker&amp;#8217; app, which pushes each second via a public Pusher channel.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Real-Time Statistics are available with our Plus and Premium paid plans, while Standard statistics for the last 24 hours are available with our new, Free &amp;amp; Unlimited plan.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Ferdinand Center for the Creative is a nonprofit in the Philippines working to help young artists become accomplished graphic designers, get great jobs, and escape poverty.&lt;/p&gt;

At the same time, I knew that a large segment of our audience views our site from older, outdated PCs at internet cafes around the Philippines, so we needed to be compatible with a large assortment of browsers.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Any video player we chose needed to be elegant, and as un-branded as possible, to let our own brand shine. I’m a very details-oriented graphic designer, but I’m no coder, so it needed to be simple to implement and not require problem-solving on my part. I’m happy to say that SublimeVideo has a gorgeous, but non-disruptive user interface, and was a piece of cake to get set up and running. &lt;p&gt;UK-based digital agency &lt;a href="http://www.slipstreamstudio.com"&gt;Slipstream&lt;/a&gt; developed Wing&amp;#8217;s video-driven site, and chose SublimeVideo to power their video portfolio. Using SublimeVideo &lt;span class="caps"&gt;API&lt;/span&gt; (&lt;a href="http://docs.sublimevideo.net/javascript-api/methods#resize"&gt;resize method&lt;/a&gt;), Slipstream implemented a custom &amp;#8216;Cinema Mode&amp;#8217; to instantly enlarge any video on the Wing site.&lt;/p&gt;

This may sound like a basic feature, but we took the time to think about a good way to implement it.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;We decided to use a photographic metaphor: We let you frame your favorite locations on Google Maps and take a snapshot to create your own Weather Posters by pressing the new camera button.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;You can recall them from the search screen at any time and can easily reorder, delete or rename them.&lt;/p&gt;

      <content type="html">&lt;p&gt;Here’s some news regarding our recent &lt;a href="http://blog.jilion.com/2011/11/01/win-a-collectors-edition-ipad-2"&gt;Twitter contest&lt;/a&gt; to celebrate the &lt;a href="http://blog.jilion.com/2011/11/01/introducing-aelios-2"&gt;launch of Aelios 2&lt;/a&gt;. The community response was fantastic &amp;#8211; 858 people entered over the 7 days the contest was running.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;To select the lucky winner once the contest ended, we needed a method that was &lt;strong&gt;fair and transparent&lt;/strong&gt;. Here’s how we did it: We assigned a number to each participant in order of entry. We then flipped a coin ten times, each time recording the result as either a 1 (heads) or 0 (tails). The result was a 10 digit binary representation, which when converted to a decimal number gave us a completely random figure between 1 and 1,023.&lt;/p&gt;

A popular web design community with the simply-stated goal of making websites better, &lt;span class="caps"&gt;CSS&lt;/span&gt;-Tricks is a treasure trove of knowledge for all web designers.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Articles and tutorials keep the community on the cutting-edge, while a broad library of code snippets and downloadable projects helps developers get hands-on. Founder Chris Coyier chose SublimeVideo to power all of the community’s video screencasts, and recently &lt;a href="http://css-tricks.com/14497-making-sublimevideo-fluid-width/"&gt;wrote a great post&lt;/a&gt; on our player’s new fluid-width capabilities.&lt;/p&gt;

But because different browsers need different things to make that happen, it&amp;#8217;s not trivially easy. There are some great free projects that do similar things, but the value for me in SublimeVideo is that I don&amp;#8217;t have to worry about upgrading to new versions or troubleshooting for the browser landscape. Even though I&amp;#8217;m the kind of guy who keeps up on HTML5 stuff, I still love it that I don&amp;#8217;t have to worry about it.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Another part of making sure videos are watchable by anyone is making sure the videos fit and look good in any browser. &lt;p&gt;With Aelios 1 we wanted to innovate in the Weather category by providing a completely new way to obtain weather forecasts. With version 2, Aelios’ unique user experience is decoupled from its data sources. &lt;strong&gt;We believe users should have the choice&lt;/strong&gt; to use the weather data provider that serves them best!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;We completely re-designed the info pane around our new multi-provider system, allowing users to arrange weather providers in order of preference.&lt;/p&gt;

A year ago we launched the &lt;a href="http://blog.jilion.com/2010/09/14/sublimevideo-beta-starts-today"&gt;SublimeVideo Beta&lt;/a&gt; and were totally overwhelmed by the response of the HTML5 and video communities.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Throughout the beta and since our &lt;a href="http://blog.jilion.com/2011/03/30/sublimevideo-is-commercially-available"&gt;commercial launch&lt;/a&gt; in March we&amp;#8217;ve gained some truly amazing users. We&amp;#8217;ve been making an effort to profile some of them in a series of &lt;a href="http://blog.jilion.com/tags/customer-showcase"&gt;Customer Showcases&lt;/a&gt; — check it out to see some of the fantastic ways people are using SublimeVideo.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Our cloud-based model has worked as we had hoped, allowing us to administer &lt;a href="http://docs.sublimevideo.net/releases"&gt;61 transparent updates&lt;/a&gt; since launching the beta; improving compatibility, fixing bugs and adding functionality to all of our users players without them ever needing to lift a finger. We are also proud to be able to say that there have so far been zero interruptions to the delivery of the player.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;We&amp;#8217;d like to thank the SublimeVideo community for all of your help and support, we couldn&amp;#8217;t have gotten where we are today without you.       <content type="html">&lt;p&gt;We have some exciting news for all the HTML5 enthusiasts out there: true HTML5 fullscreen video playback is now possible, and we’ve built it right into &lt;a href="http://sublimevideo.net"&gt;our player&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Until now, the lack of true fullscreen playback has been the biggest limitation of HTML5 over Flash video. Safari already offered a basic fullscreen option for HTML5 video players, but this was via a non-customizable QuickTime view that didn’t allow the player to be branded or to feature custom controls.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;For the first time since we &lt;a href="http://blog.jilion.com/2010/01/25/introducing-sublimevideo"&gt;demoed our player last year&lt;/a&gt;, we can finally enjoy SublimeVideo’s HTML5 controls in &lt;a href="http://cl.ly/8owo"&gt;glorious fullscreen&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This is a cutting-edge feature and we are breaking new ground by being the first video player to implement it. Right now it requires the very latest version of Safari 5.1, but Chrome and Firefox support should arrive soon&lt;sup&gt;&lt;a href="#fn-2011-07-27-1"&gt;1&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/sup&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;

If you are running Safari 5.1, simply hold down Command (Mac) or Ctrl (Windows) while clicking the player’s full-window button to enjoy true fullscreen HTML5 playback&lt;sup&gt;&lt;a href="#fn-2011-07-27-2"&gt;2&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/sup&gt;. You can also double-click the video whilst holding the modifier key to activate fullscreen. &lt;p&gt;Indeed, during the design phase we routinely said to one another “We need to design a beautiful weather forecast view, something that could be used like Leo’s big clock; something that he would love himself”.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Last week this story came full circle; Leo and Sarah gave Aelios a rave review, all without ever speaking to us. Isn’t that cool ? :-)&lt;/p&gt;

The developers chose to implement SublimeVideo Player to handle playback of all of their video content. &lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;Small Change&lt;/em&gt; is an independent short film that tells the story of how a young, single mother’s desperate hope for a big win on the slot machines causes her world to spiral out of control. The film received a lot of attention from such film festivals as Galway and Sundance, and CherryRed Pictures knew they needed an impressive site to help promote the film. They implemented SublimeVideo Player to give viewers the best possible viewing experience when watching the film’s trailer.&lt;/p&gt;

After years of using Flash for video I wanted to get away from it and allow iOS and other mobile devices to be able to watch it natively. The trailer was the most important part of the site so I spent a lot of time looking into HTML5 video but was aware we needed to make sure older browsers had a Flash fallback. I had tried a few solutions but nothing wrapped it all up so nicely like the Sublime service. When I showed Cathy a demo she loved the interface and the zoom/full screen options. I had already signed up for the beta earlier and incidentally I got my invite just few days after deciding it was the service for us.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Our visitors have noted on the player and how well it matches the look of the site and it&amp;#8217;s ease of use. For us it meant when we were out and about we could show people our trailer with our iPhones on the spot and at the same time showing off the rest of the site.”&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/blockquote&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Launched in February 2011, Method &amp;amp; Craft boasts a rich collection of articles, interviews, notes and videos focusing on the process of design and those who practice it. The team behind Method &amp;amp; Craft have done a great job at designing a beautiful site that also makes it easy to find and read any of their articles, interviews and notes on design. Presenting their rapidly growing collection of videos as beautifully as their text-based content was a different challenge, and we are thrilled that they turned to SublimeVideo Player to achieve just that. &lt;p&gt;Figuring out the right pricing model for SublimeVideo was more difficult than we had initially expected, and is something that we took great care with. The valuable data we gained from our pricing survey provided us with what we needed to finalize our commercialization plans. We would like to thank the 2,000 people who participated in this survey, and all of you who gave us amazing feedback and encouragement throughout the beta period.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Something that the survey results confirmed for us is that we must continue to strive for the highest possible quality product and service. As such, we decided that all plans will only be differentiated by their volume levels and not their feature sets. For example, you won&amp;#8217;t need to purchase the biggest plan in order to access &lt;span class="caps"&gt;SSL&lt;/span&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Consistency, down to the right-click</title>

      <content type="html">&lt;p&gt;If you are a developer or a curious user, you have probably found yourself often &lt;strong&gt;right-clicking&lt;/strong&gt; on videos in your browser to get the contextual menu and see if they are played using Flash or HTML5.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Today we want to show something that you have probably &lt;strong&gt;never seen on the Web before&lt;/strong&gt;: a handcrafted contextual menu that consistently works&lt;sup&gt;&lt;a href="#fn-2011-01-19"&gt;1&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/sup&gt; over &lt;span class="caps"&gt;HTML&lt;/span&gt; and Flash and that not only shows you if the video is being played with HTML5 or Flash, but also allows you to easily switch between the two modes.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;a href="http://docs.sublimevideo.net/releases"&gt;&lt;img src="http://blog.medias.jilion.com/uploads/2010/12/SublimeVideo-Release-Notes-Screenshot.jpg" alt="SublimeVideo Release Notes Screenshot" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Here are some information we would like to share with you:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Since the Beta started, we have released 36 automatic and transparent updates of the Player to all our users, again, automatically and without bothering them. It means we updated the player in average every 3 days. You can now follow SublimeVideo player updates on our new &lt;a href="http://docs.sublimevideo.net/releases"&gt;Release Notes&lt;/a&gt; page.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;These updates were made possible thanks to the rich feedback received from our Beta testers: over 400 feedback and bug reports have been received and 98% of them answered.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;On the server side, our cloud-based infrastructure has been running smoothly from day one without any delivery interruption of the player by our &lt;span class="caps"&gt;CDN&lt;/span&gt; (100% uptime). Also, even if this is less visible, it is worth noting that our SublimeVideo Ruby on Rails application running on Heroku has scaled as expected along with the growth in usage, allowing us to parse large amount of data, something that will allow us to bring you really cool new features and services in the future.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;On the usage side, we wished to somehow keep a low profile during the Beta, but we are thrilled to report there are currently thousands of beta users and that the traffic is already in the range of millions of video pages served per month!&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;At this stage of the Beta, we have now passed two important milestones:&lt;br /&gt;
First, the Beta has confirmed the technical service is working well and will be able to scale as we enter the commercial phase.&lt;br /&gt;
Second and maybe even more importantly, the Beta is demonstrating the value of our &amp;#8220;SublimeVideo Universal Web Video Player as a Service&amp;#8221; which is indeed delivering all the key benefits we expected when we announced it back in August.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;So, you are not going to be surprised to hear we are excited!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;h3 style="padding-top:15px"&gt;What&amp;#8217;s next&lt;/h3&gt;
&lt;p&gt;We are finalizing the development of the commercial release, which is scheduled for Q1 2011.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The pricing survey we discussed earlier will be sent out to our Beta users in January. Stay tuned, we know lots of you are waiting to know how much it will cost to start using SublimeVideo. We will do our best to please you.&lt;/p&gt;

After just two tweets, in the first days of a quiet August month, we received thousands of participation requests for our upcoming Beta!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In the next few days, we will start sending the first invitations for the Beta to as many people as possible.&lt;br /&gt;
The Beta will be free while it&amp;#8217;s on.&lt;br /&gt;
During the Beta, we will fine-tune the service, collect your comments, and most importantly, we will work hard to define the best pricing model!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Shaping the right pricing model is going to be a challenging experience for us. We will need your help because we want to do our best to shape a pricing model that can fit a wide range of potential customers, from individuals to large companies.&lt;br /&gt;
To address this pricing challenge, we plan to ask Beta testers to answer a quick survey and we will also contact some of you directly. We hope we can collectively find a solid answer to the question &amp;#8220;What would you be willing to pay for the value SublimeVideo provides to you?&amp;#8221;.&lt;/p&gt;

We aim at delivering a modern and simple video-embedding solution for web developers that provides the same user experience and uniform UI across browsers.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The first main news of the day is we have just completed the development of the Flash mode of our SublimeVideo player.  It is not a separate product, but a necessary component to achieve our ambition to offer you a truly &lt;strong&gt;universal video player&lt;/strong&gt; that works in all browsers.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;With SublimeVideo Flash mode, our users will have the warranty that their videos will play seamlessly even in non-HTML5 browsers such as IE 6, 7 or 8 and also in Firefox/Opera when the Ogg Theora video version is not available.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;em class="caption"&gt;Flash and HTML5 versions look and feel the same&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;To see the new Flash player in action, we created an additional &lt;a href="http://jilion.com/sublime/video/flash"&gt;demo page where SublimeVideo Flash mode is forced&lt;/a&gt; for all browsers (including browsers that fully support HTML5 video).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Here are the features of SublimeVideo Flash mode:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Same sleek UI as the HTML5 player&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Full-window mode (click on the full-window button, or double-click on the video) with draggable controls pane&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Full-screen mode (hold down Command (Mac) or Ctrl (Windows/Linux) while entering full-window mode)&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;While in full-window or full-screen mode, press spacebar to play/pause and Esc to exit full-window/full-screen&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;SublimeVideo automatically falls back to Flash in Firefox and Opera to decode H.264 video in case the Ogg Theora version is not provided&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Open web standard &amp;#8220;purists&amp;#8221; who do not care about compatibility with old browsers will be able to completely disable the Flash fallback to provide a pure HTML5 video experience.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The second big news of the day is that we have entirely rewritten our JavaScript code to remove all dependencies to external libraries or frameworks (originally SublimeVideo was written using the Prototype JS framework). This is a big deal, because it means SublimeVideo is now a standalone pure JavaScript library with the benefit that anyone can easily use it along side any version of any other libraries (jQuery, Prototype, MooTools, Dojo, &lt;span class="caps"&gt;YUI&lt;/span&gt;, Ext JS, &amp;#8230;) without having to worry about conflicts.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Finally, we received a lot of requests concerning the release date. We really want to make this product right. The fact that you see SublimeVideo working on our demo page doesn&amp;#8217;t mean it is fully ready to be released and embedded in any webpage out there. There&amp;#8217;s still some work to do.       <content type="html">&lt;p&gt;We are working hard on the release of SublimeVideo (no date yet).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;img src="http://blog.medias.jilion.com/uploads/2010/02/firefox.png" alt="Firefox Icon" style="float:left;margin:0 24px 0 0;" /&gt; We&amp;#8217;ve just finished adding support for Firefox and &lt;a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theora"&gt;Ogg Theora&lt;/a&gt; videos. We figured we&amp;#8217;d update the &lt;a href="http://jilion.com/sublime/video"&gt;demo page&lt;/a&gt; to show it to you.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;It should work on Firefox 3.5, but we strongly encourage you to upgrade to the latest version (currently 3.6).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;SublimeVideo on Firefox has pretty much all the basic features of the WebKit (Safari/Chrome) version, however there&amp;#8217;re some secondary features which couldn&amp;#8217;t be implemented because of Firefox limitations.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Here are the features that are currently &lt;strong&gt;missing&lt;/strong&gt;:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;1. Sleek Zoom-in/out transitions when entering/leaving full-window mode&lt;br /&gt;
2. Playback speed controls (when in full-window mode)&lt;br /&gt;
3. Other minor fade-in/out effects to highlight the poster frame and reveal the controls when mouse-hovering over the video&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;We are confident that the &lt;a href="http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/"&gt;next release of Firefox&lt;/a&gt; (3.7) will include all the necessary improvements that will allow us to implement the missing features.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A note regarding true &lt;em&gt;full-screen&lt;/em&gt; mode:&lt;br /&gt;
At the moment we couldn&amp;#8217;t integrate this directly into our controls as we did for the WebKit Nightly build (by alt-clicking the full-window button), but if you&amp;#8217;re using Firefox 3.6 you can enter this mode by right-clicking on the video and choosing &amp;#8220;Full Screen&amp;#8221; from the contextual menu.&lt;/p&gt;

      <content type="html">&lt;p&gt;Today we&amp;#8217;d like to show you a pre-release demo of SublimeVideo. It&amp;#8217;s an &lt;a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Html5"&gt;HTML5&lt;/a&gt; video player that will allow you to easily embed videos in any page, blog or site using the latest modern web standards.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;a href="http://jilion.com/sublime/video"&gt;&lt;img src="http://blog.medias.jilion.com/uploads/2010/01/sublime_video-600x480.png" alt="Sublime Video" class="no_rounded" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Browsers makers are still working on fully supporting the HTML5 video specification, so at the moment SublimeVideo is still in &lt;em&gt;experimental state&lt;/em&gt; and only works on a limited number of browsers. But the long term goal is to make it work on all modern browsers.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;SublimeVideo will be soon released for free (at least for non-commercial use).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;h3&gt;Key Features&lt;/h3&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Full-window mode&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
  This will maximize the video to fit the browser&amp;#8217;s window. It can be handy if you still want to access other applications while watching a maximized video in your browser.&lt;br /&gt;
  Besides, browsers makers are still working on implementing true fullscreen for HTML5 videos; so full-window is currently the only way to maximize the video on Safari and Chrome.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Full-screen mode&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
  Currently only supported in the latest &lt;a href="http://nightly.webkit.org/"&gt;WebKit Nightly Builds&lt;/a&gt;, you can activate this mode by &lt;span class="caps"&gt;ALT&lt;/span&gt;-clicking on the full-window button.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;HTML5 video benefits&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
  No browser plugin, no Flash dependencies!&lt;br /&gt;
  You can also jump anywhere in the video without having to wait for it to buffer.&lt;/li&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Jilion and &lt;a href="http://www.caprices.ch/"&gt;Caprices Festival&lt;/a&gt; just launched a very interesting social networking integration of Facebook and MySpace in a music festival website.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Caprices Festival approached us back in October with the goal to be one of the first, if not the first music festival allowing people to influence a great part of the festival&amp;#8217;s lineup, by voting for artists willing to enroll in the competition. It&amp;#8217;s worth to mention those artists have not been previously selected by the organizers.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Launched on January 15, the service allows, on one hand, MySpace artists to quickly submit their profile to Caprices (via MySpaceID), and on the other hand any Facebook user to vote for them (via Facebook Connect).&lt;br /&gt;
As a result 6 &amp;#8220;elected&amp;#8221; acts per day on 3 stages will play at Caprices next April.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;img class="no_rounded" src="http://blog.medias.jilion.com/uploads/2010/01/jilion_facebook_connect_statistics.png" alt="Facebook Connect Statistics" /&gt;&lt;em&gt;6 first days users base growth coming from Facebook Connect&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;We are very pleased by the early results:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;In the first 6 days, more than 11&amp;#8217;000 Facebook users joined the contest. Previously, Caprices took 3 years to attract ~2500 members on their Facebook group;&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;More than 400 artists are participating so far;&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;More than 150 MySpace artists have been proposed so far by Facebook users.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Few comparable websites relying only on their own sign-up can record 11?000 users in the first 6 days. Facebook is a &amp;#8220;no-brainer&amp;#8221; for users to sign-up as it is a very convenient process for someone already having a Facebook account.&lt;br /&gt;

      <content type="html">&lt;p&gt;We&amp;#8217;d like to take the opportunity to introduce ourselves and tell you more about what we do.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;We recently started &lt;a href="http://jilion.com"&gt;Jilion&lt;/a&gt; late summer 2009 but our team has actually been working together for several years at the &lt;a href="http://www.epfl.ch"&gt;&lt;span class="caps"&gt;EPFL&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/a&gt; campus in Switzerland.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Back in 2006, Mehdi and Zeno started the &lt;strong&gt;Jime&lt;/strong&gt; project, rapidly joined by Thibaud and Octave and several other excellent contributors. Jime is a massive project, which is going to be our contribution to solve the current mess of the music industry by providing a complete Internet-based solution to its numerous problems.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Jime will propose a completely pro artists platform and a pure level playing field for all participants of this new value chain model.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Jime is a beautiful project that strongly unites our team. It is still cooking and will be launched &amp;#8230;when ready. So no additional teasing till then!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;We decided to start &lt;a href="http://jilion.com"&gt;Jilion&lt;/a&gt; for several reasons:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;First of all, we want to stay independent in order to keep a clean focus on what we think Jime should become.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;We were asked from time-to-time to work on other projects as we collectively amassed tons of experience in complex back-end development using Ruby on Rails, rich interactive front-ends using JavaScript and web standards, social media platforms interoperability and stylish and effective interface design.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Also, it&amp;#8217;s healthy to close the loop more often than your own &amp;#8220;big project&amp;#8221; allows you, meet and work with people on exciting challenges and generate satisfaction for everybody.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;For all these reasons, we are very excited to start &lt;a href="http://jilion.com"&gt;Jilion&lt;/a&gt; and we&amp;#8217;ll continuously aim at delivering our customers with the highest level of geek-excellence and satisfaction possible.&lt;/p&gt;
