I’m going to be M.I.A on the blog for a few weeks! I am taking a leap of faith and traveling to Mexico to mentor and work with a commercial photographer there for a few weeks this winter.

I am still booking wedding and lifestyle portrait sessions for 2012, so dont’ hesitate to get in touch with me, although I’ll need some grace on response time as I’ll be in an area of Mexico that has limited internet connectivity so I’m unsure how often I’ll be able to check my email. I had the honor of photographing the cover for Intuition Magazine for their September – October issue that is currently out on newsstands around the Des Moines metro area.

I love horses and I grew up with horses, riding on my family ranch and competing in horse shows and rodeos. Now that I don’t get to do that every day, I love photographing horses and capturing the connection between horses and their riders. When the magazine contacted me about doing an equine cover – I jumped at the chance. Below is the cover and the photo that they chose.

So what do you do when you hire a “friend with a fancy camera” to photograph your wedding and the photos you receive are horrible??

You can never really redo your wedding day, but the next best thing is to break out your wedding dress, suit and tie, get your hair and makeup done and hire a professional to redo your photos on the weekend of your 2nd Anniversary!

I had such a great time at the wedding this weekend, I just had to post a couple sneak peek images! It was a little damp on Saturday but the whole wedding party, especially the bride and groom were such troopers! Just goes to show that with a willing couple, amazing images can be captured, no matter what the weather!!
