Dear Jim,
My doctor told me that, he could monitor my lungs with ct scans or he could do a biopsy, I asked him if there would have any risk, he said, yes my lung could collapse. I did not like that answer, I thought to myself why would I want to take that risk, when I feel fine, I can breath and don't have any problems, yet I kept thinking maybe I should, afterall I could develope a big problem,
Jim, you shared your very painful dreadful experience with many of us who don't know any better. Now, I will not decide to have it done.
I will keep you in my prayers, thank you for sharing your experience. We tend to think, it can't happen to me..

Enter the Secret Amazon Web Pages:

This is where you’re going to find the "latest sales, rebates, and limited-time offers" from
Amazon, and you can score some pretty deep discounts if you’re a savvy shopper.

Next, there’s the special Sale link. This is open every Friday, and ONLY on Fridays.

You can find the same good discounts here as you would in hidden Deals, although some
Fridays you can really get lucky and make off like an Amazon bandit - I’ve seen discounts
there as low as 75% off sticker price.

It is so interesting to me that all of you backed by Georgy boy have no way for someone to talk back. You have these sleazy little areas but like all left wing sites, if you dis agree then you are either a "Christian Conservative", or a "right wing kook" but there are millions of people in the country who wonder why we let a socialist who is not even a citizen back groups like this one who spew hate as hot and heavy as the KKK ever has.

Yes, I said HATE. Any time there is someone who disagrees you try to smear. For instance, why don't you call out the guy on CNN who just today called an African American "a smiling negro" on the air??? Just because the guy was agreeing with what Bill O'reilly said, Heaven forbid you should castigate someone from your own left.

You make me sick and I am watching you
He had a CT Scan done of the chest and that saw a lymph node and the doctor want to do a bronscopy . The concerns we have is , My husband is doing fine, no breathing problems, he is living a normal life. He had a kidney removed a April 2006 because of RCC. He was told that got all of the RCC and 6 months later there was no evidence of the RCC recurrence. Even with that, I have lots of Faith and is very concerned about the medical profession making him worse, can someone comment of this. We are very concerned about them puncturing his lung. We are believing for this healing.

Whoops i forgot to mention, remember when that kid got caned in public for graffitti? i think that is a great idea too. Speaking only for myself, but i am sure that others will agree that a little public humiliation would go along way as far as deterring crime. In the sixth grade, My best friend's dad was my teacher. Mr. Felker. Back then, home and school backed each others play. well after we were all told NOT to write in ink in our spelling books, I did. And the punishment was for me to get up in front of my class, bend over, grab my ankles, and get 3 swats with a yard stick. It stung, but what had the most effect was the humiliation of it. I must say that I never wrote with a pen in my spelling book again- EVER! Nor any other book to this day. It just goes to show, That some of the best lessons in life are free! They don't have to cost as much money as the prison system makes, and it makes little impact for the betterment of people but costs way too much.

Karen comments on "The corruption in California's prison system is revealed"

I just sat and read this whole blog and I must say that the most honest statement came from Parolee 4/2/2007. I was the wife of an inmate, who did 6 small terms. Mainly for parole violations due to being abusive because of drug use, and just doing stupid things. And his story as well as my ex's meshed. So I would say that is how it is. Now for those who want to blame the republican's, get a grip. Politicians for the most part are corrupt, the system was not broke in a decade it won't be fixed in a decade. In 1977 Gov. Jerry Brown Dem., did away with indeterminate sentencing, saying that prisons were for punishment only. Now, last year he wants to run for State Atty. Gen. on a platform that calls for sentencing procedures that would lower prison populations. Now he wants to correct a problem which he helped create. They are all wishy washy, so it's time to start facing the facts and find solutions that are Californian not Republican or Democratic. Lots of folks in prison are NON violent offenders. Small time dope fiends, that just can't complete probation and violate, or can't keep in a program. They only are hurting themselves. Now bear with me, it's okay to be straight, just don't be narrow minded for a minute. If it were up to me, I would decriminalize marijuana. That would empty out alot of people. Also, the revenue the state could make off the taxes would be enormous. Alcohol is a worse drug than marijuana. And nobody says that if it was legal you would have to use it. I prefer it myself over alcohol. The other effect which would be quite beneficial, is that if it was allowed to be grown, like it was in the 1700's,by people like Pres. Thomas Jefferson, for one, the green house effect would be reversed in about 20 years. So, it would help alot of people even if they didn't use it. Also the 3 strike law, that was meant to be used on people who kill children, rape and molest them or are repeat VIOLENT offenders. Even the authors of that bill are disheartened by the way things have gone. What about being able to discipline our children without CPS or school counselors telling them if your parents spank you come to us and they will be punished. So we can't spank our kids but we can pay money for any damage they do till age 18, and then the prison system will punish them for us. It's ironic don't you think?! As well as sickening. How about putting God back in the schools(as far as the pledge of allegiance)? I never thought about it til I was older, but back in the 60's through the early 80's, nobody I knew was disrespecting teachers or bring guns and knifes to school, or killing their classmates. School for the most part was the safest place to be if you weren't at home. I am 43 and have never talked to my parents the way my now 16 year old daughter spoke to me at the age of 11 because, "Ms. Floyd said you can't do anything about it".Maybe just saying the word set a tone of reverence and respect toward others the whole day. Maybe I am wrong. Where were those bleeding heart liberals when I was getting spanked for lieing, or coming home late without calling? I am glad they were not around, I came out a better individual without them. Maybe there should only be male guards for male prisoners, and visa versa.Maybe guards should not make the big bucks unless they are qualified and have some education in criminal psychology or sociology. Maybe prisoners should not have the choice to be segregated by race or gang affiliation, Why should they "run the show", so to speak. maybe if these people got an understanding of each others cultures, they would be able to get along with more people on the outside. i think what people mistake as fear toward other races is just a lack of knowledge about others and their beliefs. And the chain gang and tent prison are great ideas. they still have the chain gang in Tennessee. Wouldn't it be alot different if your family had to pay your way through prison like the parents do to put their kids through college? Back in the "old west" days, justice was swift and harsh. There were no prisons, as in other countries, you steal, lose a hand. Steal a horse, which was like the car at the time, you were hanged.Maybe that is what we need to do. Start utilizing the death penalty...publically and more often. End the 20 appeals thing. In any other type of court you only get one appeal. Why would a person want to stay alive on death row anyway? why should taxpayers take care of these losers anyway? The people they killed aren't their lives worth anything? And then we add insult to injury by The victims family knowing that some part of their tax dollar are going to feed and take care of the SOB that murdered their loved one. The inmates family doesn't help out and pay the victims families bills, do they? The whole ideology is backasswards if you ask me. well, it's just my ideas and a few suggestions. And the so called war on drugs...what a joke- don't even get me started. Thanks for listening/reading my opinion.

I work at Wal Mart and LOVE my job. They treat me well and pay better than most of the retail jobs in the area. I happen to shop there for everything BUT food, so I get a discount on the things that I went there for to begin with. We also have a Subway in our store and get 10% anytime we want. That's better than a meager meal of beans and rice.

You seem like a person who has nothing better to do in life than be a disgruntled employee and make everyone's job harder than it already is.

The discounts don't just end at 10% off at Wal Mart. Have you looked on the website at all the other discounts you get..such as 20% off Verizon cell phone plans? I think things like that make up for not getting a discount on the already discounted food, don't you?

Your store is probably one of the stores in a city that hardly makes any money, so they have to pay you less. But I love mine and would never have anything bad to say about it. Every store is different and it's not fair for you to degrade ALL of them when you've worked at ONE of them.

He keeps on telling us that he’s there to just work and not to entertain nonsense information which will not benefit him and will not contribute any improvement to his life. People like Bill and my officemate are worthy of emulation. News are sometimes sensationalized and we can never tell whether they’re true or not. The thing is as long as we’re not involved in the news let’s just keep our distance but should always be vigilant to what’s happening in the world.

Before you go on ranting about whether or not gays should be allowed to marry you need to go back and really take a serious look at the Bible. First of all Jesus' life from birth to about the age of 9 and then absolutely nothing until his 30's what happened to all those years in between which we are not supposed to see. Does anyone know or realized that Jesus himself sanctified same sex marriage? You need to read the story of Sergio and Bacchus, who by the way are now saints, were gay and married in the eyes of Jesus. Bet most of you didn't know that. So before you jump on your wagon saying that allowing gays to marry will somehow destroy marriage as we know it, Heterosexuals are doing just fine destroying it on their own. We in America have the highest divorce rate, spousal abuse, and illicit affairs of any other country.
Wake up america your problem here is not whether gays can marry is you do not want to be shown up by a group of people who just might understand the actual meaning of marriage and hold true to it.

REPUBLICANS AND AFRICAN AMERICANS A HISTORY

Republicans believe in equally of opportunity not equality of outcome. Many poor are convinced that income re-distribution is the key to eliminate poverty.

Democrats love to play issue group politics.

The Democrats have always had blocked African Americans from progressing. In the 1820's The Democrats had a to each his own philosophy (similar to todays abortion rights) on slavery.

Republicans declared that slavery was inherently wrong. They were successful in freeing the slaves.

In the 1870's when the democrats and the KKK was terrorizing the southern blacks The Republicans pushed for reconstruction

Theodore Roosevelt had dinner with several prominent african americans such as Booker T Washingon.

President Wilson fired blacks from government jobs and declared the birth of a nation (which was nothing more than a glorified KKK movie) Wilson endorsed the movie saying it was a something that every person should see.

FDR base was the southern segregationalists he did courted their vote which the republican party had since its inception but nothing to improve race relations.

Eisenhower used his rank to desegregate the military then pushed for the civil rights bill of 1957 Which John Kennedy and Al Gore Sr. voted against. The Senate Majority Leader Lydon Baynes Johnson according to his biographer and first hand accounts was the largest opponent of the bill and did all in his power to kill the bill

When John Kennedy was running for President he relied on the same Southern Conservatives that blocked reform for the last century.

At that same time Ronald Reagan would have dinner with mexican and black families from the inner city and hear their complaints. At the same time Kennedy refused to invite friend Sammy Davis Jr. to the inaugural ball. He also opposed civil rights legislation and openly opposed the famous walk on Washington.

When Reagan was governor he hired more African Americans then all other governors combined in its 110 year history... Black Leaders were asked why he didn't not make hire african americans a huge news story Reagan replied well it wasn't an issue they were the best individuals for the job.

In the 1970's prominent Black Americans such as Del Parsons now CEO of Time Warner was the chief of staff of Nelson Rockefeller bid for the Presidency

In the 1980's the Republicans sustained the second african american to the Supreme Court. Colin Powell Condileeza Rice are the incredibly qualified.

Republican party has always had a libertarian ethos and elimination individual discrimination. But not affirmative action which is also called postive discrimination. Like the Republican Martin Luther King people should be judge not on the color of their skin but the content of their character.

The REPUBLICAN PARTY IS THE MOST INCLUSIVE PARTY IN THE COUNTRY IT GIVES EVERYONE THE SAME DEAL.

It does not differientiate among race it has core values of limited government (can everyone give me the core values of the democratic party?)

In short the Republican party has always pushed for civil rights.

The trouble with the American People is that we talk too much, but don't take action. We all, who get under paid should set a date across the nation and march. The rents are out of control, the pay is too low. Pass the word on. Maybe, just maybe us Americans will smarten up and do it. JUST DO IT. Go to the local paper and give a time and date and let's get going. That's what I say. Millions of people just get mad, well get mad and march for what it is right. People from other countries get treated better than we do. The government gives them everything they need. We want peace and to live happy. We're not going to get either one until we take action. If you can't take action, then we should keep our mouth shut and put up with it. Name when, where, and time, and I'll be the first one there with you. Just don't say tomorrow. Give a resonable notice time. You'll need a permit to give a peace march. Let's not kill our own country to make a statement. Start Marching. Terri

aegreatone comments on "Going undercover at Wal-Mart"

i used to work at walmart and I can say right now I was quite happy with my old job. 10% discount saved me allot of money and although it didn't cover food, i was never eating frozen foods or a tiny burrito, i always brought a lunch with me and it sure wasn't a meager meal of rice and beans...it was more like leftover spaghatti, pork chops, steak and anything else that was made last night for dinner with a nice Powerrade.

Walmart at the time was an easy job for me. Although the pay was not as good as say my peers were getting, but then again, my peers were working in the texas hot sun for 10hrs making 10-16 an hr...it payed enough to get through college and afford my apartment and other stuff to keep me occupied.

I reliaze that my situation, is not as hard on folks as others, some of my walmart associates had mouths to feed, and didn't enough to afford the bills at the end of the day. but what do you expect 7 bucks a pop. There's plenty of other jobs that pay more than Walmart, so why not go there?

I chose walmart because it was an easy job for an 18yr old like me. Now at 22, i have a great job working for a computer company pulling down 600-800 a week.
