2008 Favorites

It is a little late in the year for me to get this up. But then everyone needs a couple belated Christmas presents, right? Things are busy around here in AZ. Writing, recording and all the holiday stuff is a lot to juggle. Posting in general has suffered. Sorry about that. The new year will bring a better-updated blog. There was a significant change in my listening habits this year. I bought more vinyl than I have since high school, when the 7" seemed to rule. The collector nerd in me is making resurgence. The one thing I wish more labels would do is to provide a lossles version when you buy an LP instead of just the mp3 files. I am sure higher sample/bit rate music is around the corner anyway. So, here are my favorite/most listened to albums for 2008.

frightened rabbit- The Midnight Organ Fight. This was my favorite album of the year. Such a great combination of writing and delivery. One of the best live acts I got to see this year as well. I am really excited to see what 2009 brings for these guys. It was too hard to decide a hierarchy for the others, so consider them all close 2nd.

Hi all,

We are now back in AZ, enjoying very much being home. We are excited to get going on working on a new album and we've been spending a lot of time at our studio cleaning up a very big mess we've left.......organizing, cleaning, etc. Here is a little random video clip I recorded:

In the video is our engineer, Chris Testa, along with our friend Aaron. Hopefully we'll be posting more video clips as we dig in more on some new music. Peace.

We are now in Luxembourg and we play here tonight for the first time. It's gonna be sweet.

While we were hanging out at the venue today, we thought it would be good to sign up for a band twitter profile. you can follow our twitter updates here if you are into that kind of thing.
