Just a couple of days ago we bought an Apple MacBook Pro MC024LL/Afrom ! this website www.Xmas-carnival.com
It is indeed a fantastic machine, though it will take some time to get used to the new system. Wireles mouse and keyboard. Nice design.
and I love it. I paid $1260US all charges included the chose to use the Core 2 Duo but that's not all bad. This is a stable, cool running, capable processor. I use this mostly for work where stability, battery life, portability, and longevity are the most important things to me. I rarely play games. I especially like the backlit keyboard. if you want to get one.you can check it out .

I shall take this opportunity to wish you a Blessed Christmas and a healthy and happy New Year.

It was an apt birthplace on 14 March 1879 for the man who would become the epitome of scientific genius. The back of his head was so large and distorted, his mother feared her newborn son was deformed. Later he took so long to speak that his parents worried he never would. Not long after the birth of his sister, and only sibling, Maja in November 1881, Einstein adopted the rather strange ritual of softly repeating every sentence he wanted to say until satisfied it was word-perfect before uttering it aloud. At seven, to the relief of his parents, Hermann and Pauline, he began to speak normally. By then the family had lived in Munich for six years, having moved so Hermann could open an electrical business in partnership with his younger brother Jakob."

Abandoned Russian Polar Nuclear Lighthouses

The Russian Northern coast is a vast territory that runs for a few thousand miles and all the coastline is inside the Polar Circle. Long polar winters mean that there is no daylight at all, just one day changes another without any sign of the Sun rising above the horizon. So essentially there is only polar night for 100 days of the year.

This Northern coast, has always been used by cargo boats as a short cut to travel from the Eastern part of Russia to the Western part. Now this trip can be made fairly easy with the appearance of all the satellite navigation equipment like GPS and others that is readily available today, however during the Soviet Era none of this was available.

So, the Communist Party of the Soviet Union decided to build a chain of lighthouses to guide ships finding their way in the dark polar night across the uninhabited shores of the Soviet Russian Empire. So a series of lighthouses was erected. They had to be fully autonomous, because they were situated hundreds and hundreds miles aways from any populated areas. After reviewing different ideas on how to make them work for years without service or any external power supply, Soviet engineers decided to implement atomic energy to power up these structures. So, special lightweight small atomic reactors were produced in limited series to be delivered to the Polar Circle lands and to be installed in the lighthouses to power them. These small reactors could work in the independent mode for years and didn’t require any human interference, so it was very handy in the situation like this. It was a kind of robot-lighthouse which calculated the time of year and the length of daylight, from which it automatically turned on its lights when it was needed and sent radio signals to nearby ships to warn them on their journey. It all looked and ran like something from a sci-fi book and they most probably were for their time.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the unattended automatic lighthouses did the job but after some time they collapsed. Mostly as a result of the hunt for metals like copper and other stuff which were performed by looters. They didn’t care or maybe even didn’t know the meaning of the “Radioactive Danger” sign and ignored them, breaking in and destroying the equipment. It sounds creepy but they broke into the reactors too causing all the structures to become radioactively polluted.

Now these derelict lighthouses stand abandoned across the great northern coast of Russia causing great pollution to our environment, sad that man in all its infinite wisdom and cleverness can create such technology but in the same instance cause such great harm...

Some really interesting concepts here, although as usual they remain concepts and nothing more. The issue with concept cars are that the production cost far outweight the cost effectiveness of the car. Hence these only ever stay concepts in the mind of the creator. Although the Toyota iReal could actually make it into production oneday as there have been rumours.

"In the late twelfth century [the Mongolian steppe] region was facing a subsistence crisis because a drop in the mean annual temperature had reduced the supply of grass for grazing animals. The man who saved the situation by gaining access to the bounty of the agricultural world for them was Chinggis (Ghengis, c.1162-1227).

"A brilliant and utterly ruthless military genius, Chinggis proudly asserted that there was no greater joy than massacring one's enemies, seizing their horses and cattle, and ravishing their women. His career as a military leader began when he avenged the death of his father, a tribal chieftain who had been murdered when Chinggis was still a boy. As he subdued the Tartars, Kereyid, Naiman, Merkid, and other Mongol and Turkic tribes, Chinggis built up an army of loyal followers. In 1206 the most prominent Mongol nobles gathered at an assembly to name him their overlord, or great khan.

"He then fully militarized Mongol society ignoring traditional tribal affiliations to form an army based on a decimal hierarchy, 1,000 horsemen in the basic unit. A new military nobility was thus created of commanders loyal to Chinggis. They could pass their posts to their sons, but the great khan could remove any commander at will. Chinggis also created an elite bodyguard of 10,000 sons and brothers of commanders, which served directly under him. To reduce internal disorder, he issued simple but draconian laws; the penalty for robbery and adultery, for instance, was death. He ordered the Uighur script to be adopted for writing Mongol, seeing the utility of written records even though he was illiterate himself.

"His organization in place, Chinggis initiated one of world history's most astonishing campaigns of conquest. He began by subjugating nearby states. First he would send envoys to demand submission and threaten destruction. Those who submitted without fighting were treated as allies and left in power, but those who put up a fight faced the prospect of total destruction. City-dwellers in particular evoked his wrath and were often slaughtered en masse or used as human shields in the next battle. In the Mongol armies' first sweep across the north China plain in 1212-13, they left ninety-odd cities in rubble. When they sacked the Jurchen's northern capital at Beijing in 1215, it burned for more than a month.

"Chinggis's battle-hardened troops were capable of enduring great privation and crossing vast distances at amazing speed. In 1219 he led 200,000 troops into Central Asia, where the following year they sacked Bukara and Samarkand. Before his death in 1227, Chinggis ... ruled from the Pacific Ocean on the east to the Caspian Sea on the west.

"Chinggis's death created a crisis due to the Mongol tradition of succession by election rather than descent. In the end the empire was divided into four sections, each to be governed by one of the lines of his descendants. Ogodei, Chinggis's third son, got control of Mongolia. In 1234 he crushed the Jin and became ruler of north China. By 1236 he had taken all but four of the fifty-eight districts in Sichuan, previously held by the Song, and had ordered the total slaughter of the one million plus residents of the city of Chengdu, a city the Mongols had taken easily with little fighting. Even where people were not slaughtered, they were frequently seized as booty along with their grain stores and livestock. Ogodei's troops also participated in the western campaigns begun in 1237. Representatives of all four lines ... campaigned into Europe in 1237, taking Moscow and Kiev in 1238 and striking into Poland and Hungary in 1241 and 1242. Although they looted cities in central Europe on these campaigns, the Mongols soon retreated to Russia, which they dominated for over a century."

WTCC racer kills model in crash

A crash involving former World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) competitor Marin Colak (26) has claimed the life of a young Croatian model.

Colak, a former SEAT León Eurocup series runner-up, lost control of his Ferrari during the early hours of Sunday morning.

The Ferrari impacted safety barriers on the A6 motorway in Karlovac County, near Bosiljevo, in the direction of Rijeka.

Skidding after the initial impact, Colak’s Ferrari’s was slowed by a grass surface next to the motorway where it stopped and caught fire.

Occupying the passenger seat in Colak’s Ferrari was Croatian model Ivana Obad (20); she was pronounced dead by emergency services shortly after they arrived on the scene.

Colak, ironically, survived the accident due to his ill-discipline in not wearing a safety belt, and was flung free of the Ferrari after its initial impact. He was air-lifted to Karlovac General Hospital with serious injuries.

Croatian police confirmed an investigation has been opened against Colak detailing unsafe lane changing and speeding.

It is alleged Colak was pursuing a Nissan 350Z at speed when one of his Ferrari’s wheels touched the grass verge framing the motorway, initiating a critical loss of control.

During the 2009 WTCC season Colak campaigned a privately entered Seat Leon and managed a best finish of 12th during the German round of the championship. Previously Colak had raced in Formula Renault.

Rememeber Step 5 - Take chances from my previous post 39 Ways to live and not merely exist a new challenge to me?

"5. Take chances. We often live our lives too cautiously, worried about what might go wrong. Be bold, risk it all. Quit your job and go to business for yourself (plan it out first!), or go up to that girl you've liked for a long time and ask her out. What do you have to lose?"

Well I took a chance today - I quit my corporate job! My official Facebook post below:

"The secret of happiness is freedom. The secret of freedom is courage. Courage is quitting my corporate job today and finally having the freedom to do my own thing - how and in what form I do not know yet, all I know is that my life will be the better for it. No more maintaining the status quo - why follow when you can lead!"

True it says I'm not sure what I will do - well its not entirely true...I managed to negotitate a consultancy role with my current employer for awhile and I will be assisting in growing our Family business. If you had to ask me whether I am scared, yes would be my first answer! However I have a calmness over me. I have a sense of freedom to define my own destiny. Something which I am realising more and more is that no matter how much I try and be one of the followers, the Corporate world will never be my master. There are way too many egotistical minions who don't see the bigger picture.

Logic questions why maintain the status quo? Who has defined that status quo? More importantly what is the status quo?

"Jumping in your car at 6am in the morning, spending an hour in traffic, sitting behind your desk 8 hours or more hours a day stroking the sensitive egos of your collegues, returning home in traffic another hour and repeating the process the next day?"

It deeply disturbs me to see people stuck in this rut, I guess its is true about myself as well. You get stuck in a routine that dominates your life and before you know it rules ever single aspect thereof. You are throughly consumed living on the adrenalin that stress pumps into your viens 24 hours a day. Humankind has become like one huge flock of mindless sheep, have a look at the congested Highways in the mornings, the impact that the popular brands have like Apple - are we creating a society of followers and no individuals any more? We have become desensitized as humankind?

All I know today I took a chance and this will be me documenting my Life of not merely existing but for once actually living!
