Projects in Stage2 of the #coursedata programme are required to create an xcri-cap1.2 feed with a cool uri. To support this work a validator and aggregator will be provided, and programme meetings with a technical focus will be arranged.

Course Data: making the most of course information - Stage 2

Stage 1 of the Course Data: making the most of course information Programme has supported the production of an implementation plan outlining changes required to improve course data flows within the institution and produce feeds for external agencies.
63 institutions have been selected for Stage 2 on the basis of these plans and will carry out their projects in the next 14 months through to March 2013.

Course Data: making the most of course information

There is an increasing demand for course data in the UK education system. This is driven in part by the Government transparency agenda http://data.gov.uk/ which promotes the release of public data, and internally by a need to inform business planning.
A more timely concern is that changes in HE course funding and fee structures have altered the relationship between institutions and students precipitating a demand for more, easier to find, accurate comparative data to enable informed choice.
