2012-06-28T17:47:00.001-07:00

Glenn Barber - Ice Water

2011-09-06T21:05:00.000-07:00

Rockabilly artist Ray Condo did a great cover of this, but nothing beats a classic! This is a great bopper by Glenn Barber!

The Sharps - Lock Up My Heart

2011-03-11T11:35:00.000-08:00

A Great Jiver bu The Sharps. Very fast and Energetic and a great dance floor filler.

The Carnations - "Scorpion"

2011-02-01T23:51:00.000-08:00

A surf jiver!!! this is all i found on this track Great Surf/R&R Instrumental issued on Tilt Records. I first heard this at the viva las vegas record hop, and too little djs play it down here in socal.

Little Richard - "Ready Teddy"

2010-12-20T00:44:00.000-08:00

Im not the biggest Little Richard Fan, but boy does this track want to make you move! i think its literally impossible not to tap your feet while listening, dont even matter if your not a rock n' roll fan. you know those corny movies where everyone in the neighborhood has a stick up their ass through the movie till a bad ass gets out a guitar and just starts wailing some thing that bumps! yeah i picture this song everytime.

Al Hendrix - Young And Wild

2010-12-19T00:19:00.000-08:00

He's still rockin' in Auburn, Califonia. Young and Wild, great stroller from Al Hendrix!!!! But unfortunatly this too gets too little airtime at the record hops, great track!!!

Donnie Elbert - Believe It Or Not

2010-12-17T00:13:00.000-08:00

Great Post from Donnie Elbert! Classic Doo wop, but a great jiver none the less. Play this song and get ready to pack the dance floor. As much as i like "Have I Sinned" this track takes it out by far, this is what i found on him Elbert was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, but when aged three his family relocated to Buffalo, New York. He learned to play guitar and piano as a child, and in 1955 formed a doo-wop group, the Vibraharps, with friend Danny Cannon.

Shane Fenton and the Fentones (sparkling brown eyes)

2010-12-16T12:20:00.000-08:00

Great Track, from what i can tell from this track this a track from a session recorded live at the BBC , never released on a vinyl , it might have come from his own radio show at the time (1962)called swing along with Shane ! Great Jiver!!!!

Eddie Bond - Here Comes The Train

2010-12-14T18:50:00.000-08:00

This is a classic rockabilly track, eddie created some great classic tracks, this is a great bopper that gets played at all the great weekenders.

Lulu Reed & Freddy King - You Can't Hide - R&B.wmv

2010-12-13T12:12:00.000-08:00

great jiver, all i can say is FABULOUS !!! great r&b with a taste of mo-town, and some hot guitar on the back. Great Dance Floor Filler!!!!

The Adventurers-Do It

2010-12-12T18:17:00.000-08:00

this is a rare track, a great jiver from the adventurers!!! couldnt really find much information on this track but the music speaks for itself

THE FLAIRS - She Wants To Rock

2010-12-08T01:39:00.000-08:00

One of the best early jumps!! a great jiver that always gets the dance floor filled!!!

Gentle On My Mind

2010-12-06T10:47:00.000-08:00

Glen Campbell is one bad SOB...
You take all these shredders that hide behind 16 effects and give them that ovation and I guarantee you Glen would make send them all home crying to mama.... I personally play this song in my acoustic duo and I can tell you every time I play this song the whole room gets quiet and listens. This song is one of the best ever..

The Vanguards ( Roll over Beethoven )

2010-12-03T19:36:00.000-08:00

Great version of Roll Over Beethoven, a great fast paced jiver of a classic track

Cliff Gallup - September in the rain - Rare Recording !!!!

2010-12-03T02:34:00.000-08:00

Gorgeous. There's a story that when the Blue Caps went to Nashville to record, the producer had Grady Martin and Hank Garland standing by in case Cliff couldn't cut it. Grady and Hank heard Cliff warming up, laughed at the producer, turned around and walked out. Don't know if it's true, but it could have been!

Vince Everett - Such A Night - 1962 45rpm

2010-12-01T22:00:00.000-08:00

this is a great jiver vince everette(marvin benfield) was awesome. this is more of a copy of elvis than his other songs. check out livin high, sweet flavors. he has the timing of elvis down to a science. most singers don't have the timing and spark. in his other songs, he doesn't try to sound like elvis. his timing and rhythm is the key

Wynonie Harris-Don't Roll Those Bloodshot Eyes At Me

2010-11-29T13:28:00.000-08:00

What more can i say about the great Wynonie Harris? His music was great, he played rhythm and blues right before rock n' roll hit, yet he never trully gets the respect he deserves. great jiver

Eddie and the Showmen - Movin' - 45 rpm

2010-11-24T18:36:00.000-08:00

Its not necessarily a stroller, jiver, or bopper but its a bad ass jam

The Jiants - Tornado (1959)

2010-11-17T18:28:00.000-08:00

Just listen to that tremelo in the intro!! ultimate bopper dance floor filler! It was approx a year ago that I came across this song. I checked it out over the title alone and loved it. Insts were real big back in the doowop era with mainstream artists like Duane Eddy & The Tornados (Telstar). I only heard 3 hits by this band and yet youtube tells me otherwise. More recently I came across Tornado by Dale Hawkins and like it!.

The Jiants - Tornado -
Claudra CL-112 (1959)

Little Willie John - I'm Shakin'

2010-11-15T11:29:00.000-08:00

Fantastic Stroller from Little Willie John, this song is just as raunchy as its composer! Little Willie John actually got arrested years latter for murder, and died a little while after in jail.

The Gaylords - Ma-Ma-Ma Marie (1958)

2010-11-12T17:02:00.000-08:00

They may have the faggiest name in all of rock n' roll history, but the gaylords did produce one great song. I've listened to some of their other catalog and frankly im not impressed, they sound like a poor man's Dean Martin. But Ma-Ma-Ma Marie is a solid jiver, and one that will make any rock n' roll dance floor jam packed!

Wally Cox - The Heebee Jeebees

2010-11-11T16:24:00.000-08:00

I dont have much information on Wall Cox or this tune but all i have is that this is a great song, that doesn't get enough airplay as it should.

Spaniels - People Will Say We're In Love

2010-11-11T01:51:00.000-08:00

Just listen to that barritone voice! The lead singer of this group (the Spaniels) was Pookie Hudson in this song however Gerald Gregory is singing; apart from this masterpiece, which by the way was a remake of a song in the play Oklahoma, they are best known for recording "Goodnight, Sweetheart, Goodnight, which is a great track in itself and would of propelled the spaniels to more success had it not been for the McGuire Sisters covering the song and gaining them the success that was due to the Spaniels. Anyway this is a great jiver, and great song to dance to.

Bill Haley y sus Cometas, Más Twist(Let's Twist Again), 1961, USA/Mexico

2010-11-10T18:22:00.000-08:00

Great rare jiver by Bill Haley, this song is a spanish remake of Chubby Checker's ""Lets Twist Again". This song was recorded in 1962, while Bill Haley moved to Acapulco (Mexico).

Kieth Corvale - Trapped Love

2010-11-10T12:51:00.000-08:00

This is a fantastic bopper! Every time i hear it at viva las vegas, its an instant dance floor filler! Love the intro cause it gives you enough time to finish one last swig and go boppin' on the dance floor.
