“Quit” by SB19: The Song That Made Me Cry

Some songs entertain, some inspire, but then there are songs that go straight to the soul. For me, SB19’s “Quit” is one of those songs. The first time I heard it, I cried. And when I heard it live at the SAW concert, I cried even harder.

When I first played “Quit”, the line that broke me was:

“Ahh, ayokong mamatay… They tried to kill the colors in my mind but all I wanted was to be kind.”

It’s raw, it’s painful, and it’s real. The song is about wanting to give up but deep inside, you know you don’t really want to. It’s that inner battle, torn between surrender and survival.

At the SAW concert, I was already heartbroken and in tears when they sang “Ilaw.” But when “Quit” came on, the emotions doubled. I cried even harder, especially when Ken said this song is “a rebellion against yourself.” In that moment, surrounded by thousands of people, I broke down again. Because I realized, it wasn’t just music. It was a mirror of the battles I fight inside me every single day.

For me, “Quit” also speaks about the pain of not being understood by the very person you love.

Imagine giving up everything, left everything behind to follow you, only to realize… you didn’t even love me in the end.

That line, “Losin’ myself, tryin’ to be a lie, so I’d be picture perfect in your eyes”. It cuts deep. Because sometimes you sacrifice who you are, erase your colors, just to be loved. And still, it’s not enough.

“Quit” isn’t just about exhaustion, it’s about resistance. It says: “I’m tired, but I’m still here.” It’s a song of rebellion, resilience, and quiet survival.

SB19 reminds us that even if the world tries to kill the colors in our minds, we can still choose to keep them alive.

Quit is more than a song, it’s a lifeline. It’s proof that even in your darkest battles, you are not alone. Listening to it, I realized: yes, I’ve been tired, I’ve been broken, I’ve been misunderstood. But like the song, I’m still here. I didn’t quit.

When Silence Isn’t Peace: Learning to Say “I’m Not Okay”

I’ve always had this habit, some might call it a pattern, of running away when I’m hurting.

Not physically running away, necessarily. More like emotionally retreating. I pull back, go quiet, close the doors of my heart, and pretend I’m okay when I’m anything but. And even when I’m surrounded by people who love me, I still feel alone in my pain.

For as long as I can remember, silence has been my coping mechanism. It's where I retreat to sort things out, to feel safe, to avoid explaining emotions I can barely understand myself. But here’s the thing: silence doesn’t always bring peace. Sometimes, silence is just a disguise for chaos. A mask I wear to keep people from seeing the storm inside.

I don’t always let people in. Not because I don’t trust them—but because I don’t know how. Vulnerability is scary. Saying “I’m not okay” feels like I’m dumping weight on someone else’s shoulders. I worry about being too much, or being seen as weak. So I stay quiet. I keep it together. I carry it alone.

But the truth is… I wish I didn’t.

I wish I knew how to say, “I’m not okay,” without feeling like a burden.

I wish I could believe that needing support doesn’t make me less strong. That speaking up is not selfish, it’s human. That I’m allowed to take up space in someone else’s heart, not just give it. That healing doesn’t always have to be a solo journey.

The rain has been falling for hours, tapping against the window like a steady, unrelenting reminder of everything I’ve lost. I sit in the dim glow of a single lamp, staring at a picture on my phone.

It’s the last remnant of the life I had before you took it all away.

At first, the grief was unbearable—a crushing weight that pinned me down every morning when I woke up, forcing me to remember that they weren’t here anymore. That I’m alone. But over time, the pain didn’t fade; it just changed. It settled into something colder, heavier. Not pain, not even sadness—just emptiness. A hollow ache that stretches across every hour of the day, never leaving, never easing.

People tell me to move on. They say time heals, that I should find a purpose, and try to heal. As if healing is a choice. As if I haven’t already tried. But how do you move forward when there’s nothing left to hold onto?

I reach for the screen, my fingertips tracing the edges of their faces. I want to feel something, anger, sorrow, even hatred. Anything would be better than this numbness. But all I feel is exhaustion like I’ve been running in circles, chasing ghosts that will never return.

Trip to the Island of the Turtles - Apo Island

Everyone is a bit excited about Riza's birthday since we will be going to Negros Oriental to go to the island of turtles - Apo Island. We have been planning it for almost a month, but we kept on changing the dates because of the weather.

To get there from Cebu, you need to go to Dumagete City first. There are few options to choose to get there. One is by plane. Second is by boat from Cebu City, you may google the shipping lines as there are also a few to choose from. Third, which is what we did, is via land tracking from Cebu City to Dumageute.

You just need to go to the the Cebu City South Bus Terminal, you have 2 options: one is the bus that gets you directly to Dumaguete City and this is via Bato - Tampi, which will take you a bit longer since, the bus itself will ride the RORO; second, ride a bus to Lilo-an, from Lilo-an port, you may ride the fast craft and will only take 20-30 mins.

Once in Dumaguete, you need to get to Malatapay. There are several options to get to Malatapay. Across Robinson's Place, you may ride a jeepney for Php 25. Another option would be the bus heading south located near the cockpit of Dumaguete, which is what we did that costs us Php 20, just ask them to drop you at the Malatapay Market.

BOATS to Apo Island

Once at the Malatapay Market, just head straight to the beach. A lot of barkers will be offering you a tour on the Island. They pretty much offer the same price, depending on how may you are. Php 2,000, good for 4 and Php 3,000 for 8 persons. The boat ride will take between 40 minutes to one hour depending on the boat and the water conditions.

When we were there, it was kind of windy, so the boat ride was an adventure. I almost had a heart attack! The waves were so big that I really thought that we were not going to make it. Good thing that the captain of the boat really knows what he was doing and I guess he's got experience. Apparently, that's really a norm when crossing the sea to Apo Island since it's an open sea. But, it was one hell of a ride!!!

On the island

You'll notice right away the amazing rock formations once you get near the island. Perfect for a weekend getaway, perfect for selfies and groufies!

Once on the Island, go straight to the collector's house of the Bantay Dagat where you need to register and pay the fees. I was shocked by the fees though, they have fees for everything. It's best to bring your gears like snorkel and life vest if you have them. But in order for you to really enjoy the diving, you need a guide, they will be the ones to look for the turtles for you and make sure you are safe.

Entrance Fees:

Php 100.00 - for guests from Outside Negros Oriental

Php 25.00 - for guests from Negros Oriental (ID is needed)

Php 5.00 - for seniors and people with disabilities (ID is needed)

Snorkeling Fee:

Php 300.00 - guide good for 4 persons

Php 100.00 - snorkel and mask rental

Php 100.00 - life vest

I was overwhelmed by the turtles that I forgot the positioning of my underwater cam (sad face), I wasn't even able to get a good picture of them. You'll see the colorful coral garden of the Island, colorful fishes and you'll find Nemo there too; you'll see the biggest turtles! Our guide said that they are friendly and are already used to humans. You are not allowed to touch them though.

So pack your bags and come to visit the turtles!

Sardine Run at Panagsama

My afternoon with the sardines were the best one yet!

To get to Moalboal, you can ride a bus from the South Bus Terminal which leaves every 30 minutes. Then ride a Tricycle to Panagsama Beach or to Basdaku.

Via Panagsama Beach, you don't need to hire a boat to get to the Sardine Run. You just need to go to the beach, the sardines are just near the shoreline. I suggest you rent a life vest and snorkeling gear if you don't have one to get the best experience. You will see different types of fishes like the clown fish. You will also get a chance to meet the turtles in the area which are human friendly. I can say that they have a lot of human experience, they are not afraid if you get near them.

Via Basdaku, you will have to hire a boat for island hopping and one of the itinerary is the Sardine Run.

At first I thought it's going to be just of those island hopping scenery you'll see under water, but I was amazed when I got down from the boat. It's like all the fish has one mind. They turn and change direction at the same time! It's like a wall paper full of sardines in synchronized movement, it was amazing!

I highly recommend visiting the sardine run at Panagsama. You'll get to experience how amazing nature is, you'll fall in love right away!

I've been so caught up with trying to move on with my life after a failed relationship that I forgot how it feels to be carefree. I am moving on and letting go and I wanted to re organize my life and live it just the way I want it without having to think of other people first.

My second adventure for this year is island hopping at Lapu-Lapu with my friends. I was so excited since I get to use my new action camera. It has an under water casing so I get to video anything under water within 20 feet. I love it, below are the pictures I got from Olango and Nalusuan Island. Enjoy!

Rope Challenge and Joy Ride to Busay, Cebu

It's been a long time since I went out and had some fun with my friends. It's been a hard two months for me, struggling with stress at work and private life issues. I've been focusing on you for quite some time, and after everything we've been through, I guess it wasn't enough.

My life's 13 years worth down the drain. Like they said, "let go if you have to, if you have given your best and he's still not satisfied then he is not worth it."

Anyways, back to the main topic. My friends and I went to Mountain View Resort and enrolled on a Rope Challenge. I thought it was just an easy activity, but when I went up and started the course, I said to myself, "can I do this?". My friends are so small and slim, they can do it, but me? "Shit, what did I get myself into?".

A bit panicked, I just laughed and started to walk on a square piece of wood hanged by ropes, just one step at a time. The first challenge was easy, no biggie on my part.

The second challenge are long woods hanged by ropes. A bit challenging, but I had no problems with it, I was able to cross it without an issue.

But I spoke too soon, the next challenge were ropes made into a net. All three of my friends are already across it and they were just waiting for me to cross it. "You can do it, you can do it", I said to myself. I did it, but Oh the effort!

The next challenge is a zip line, just 2-3 meters away. No challenge there!

The fifth one is very, very and I mean very challenging, that's when I told them that I give up. The next challenge are tires hanged by ropes, you have to go across the line of tires. I was almost half way when I felt the pain on the shoulders and upper arms. I started to palpitate, God, if they knew I have a heart condition, but I wanted to keep that to myself. I thought I'm going to die up there. I told my friends that they can continue to the next challenge without me and I will just rest for a while, but no. They waited for for me on what seemed like forever, they continue to shout at me on what to do to get across. The problem was that the shoes I was wearing is not built for the activity. My shoes slides as I step on each tire. The gloves I'm using would slip when I hold on to the rope. But after awhile I got the hang of it but wow, it was the slowest and longest 15 minutes of my entire life. But I told them I wanted to continue the tire challenge and don't want to give up just yet.

I rested for a while and thought I could do the next challenge, which is a series of swings. Sharon, the first challenger said to step on each swing at a time because it will swing if I step on both feet. So I did. I smiled so hard knowing I did it. I congratulated myself. But after I saw the next challenge, which are woods shaped like a cross, about 5-8 cross all in all. You have to go through them each one. I told myself, I can't do it anymore. My hands are aching and shaking at the same time. I told "kuya", "sana nilagyan nyo nang babala na over weights are not allowed". LOL! They just laughed,

I told them I'm giving up, so they rappelled me just to get down from the towers. I wanted to kiss the ground and stay there! But I patted myself since at least I was able to go through a few of the challenge. Lesty gave up as well. She's afraid of heights too!

We waited for my other 2 friends to finish the challenge. And so we went on a Joy Ride to Balamban right after. The view was breathtaking since it was sundown. The color of the clouds was just amazing. Below is the video I took on the said ride.

I am so thankful that I get to join my friends and have some fun. I've been so caught up with everything that it feel depressed for the longest time. Thanks Lesty, Nice and Sharon. Sa uulitin!

Me Now Pro Generation II Kiss Proof SoftLipstick (Powdery Matte)

I just received a package from Lazada, in the package are my new Me Now Kiss Proof lippies, shades #13 and #15. I love the shades, it looks expensive, but it just cost me Php 177.00 each. What I love about the product is the powdery finish matte. And it is indeed kiss proof!

Menow products are cheap, I have found websites like ebay which sells it at a cheaper price. Once applied to my lips, it dries right away. I tried drinking coffee and the lipstick didn't stain my mug. It has a light feel to it.

The only thing I don't like is that it smells like paint. But the smell disappears in a few minutes after applying it.

It has a nice packaging!

Inside the packing is the brochure, it has information about how to use the product.

I love the #15 shade, it has a natural look to it, my friend say that I look better with a nude color. But I still love the red shade #13!

Yummy Peanut Butter Cookies

Yummy Peanut Butter Cookies
This recipe makes 2 dozen cookies

Ingredients:
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter, room temperature
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 egg
1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Procedure:
1. Beat the butter for 2 minutes until creamy;
2. Add the brown and white sugar; beat it for 2 minutes;
3. Mix in the peanut butter and egg;
4. Mix together all other dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, salt and baking powder;
5. Stir the dry ingredients into the butter mix;
6. Wrap the dough in plastic and put it in the fridge for not less than 3 hours;
7. Preheat the oven to 190°C;
8. In a baking pan, shape the dough into 1 1/4 inch balls;
9. Place the balls of dough about 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet;
10. Flatten dough crisscross pattern with a fork.
11. Bake until brown, usually takes about 9-12 minutes.

Bohol 2015

It's summer time in the Philippines and that means travel for me. This time, we went to Bohol. We had limited time since we left our fury baby at home alone, so we only have about 10 hours to spend.

From Piier 1, we were able to purchase a ticket to Bohol for only Php 350 via 2GO Supercat and left Cebu at 8:40 AM. We arrived at Tagbilaran City at approximately 11:00 AM.

We planned to go via Tubigon, since it's the one closest to the Chocolate Hills but upon researching online, there aren't that many for rent motorcycles there. It's not that industrialized yet like Tagbilaran City. And I contacted a few of the for rent stores but they said Tubigon is too far for them to travel. So we decided to go via Tagbilaran instead.

I tried searching online for motorcycles for rent and so far the lowest price I can find is Php 800 for 24 hour rent. When we got to the port, we noticed immediately that the port is under construction and we then found out that part or the port was ruined when the 2013 earthquake hit Bohol. I am glad to see though that Bohol is now slowly recovering from the 7.2 magnitude quake.

CHOCOLATE HILLS!

My very first time to see the chocolate hills and all I can think of is, they're really are chocolate hills! And I just thought, "WOW!, amazing creation"! You could see green and chocolate colored hills as far as your eyes could see. It's all over the place!

Literally, they are brown - chocolate brown!

Tarsier Conservation Area in Loboc, Bohol

Entrance is just Php 60. About 8 Tarsiers are in the conservation. They were kept by private individuals in their own viewing quarters and kiosks have been brought to the Tarsier Conservation Area, a 6-hectare facility that is fully equipped and staffed. The move was done by the regional office of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) to transfer all 113 tarsiers to a more forested and more controlled sanctuary.

As per the tour guide, Tarsiers are suicidal. When they are stressed, they are known to smash their heads on the trees or any hard objects. Also, they are territorial, they patrol their branch/tree all day. Then leave the branch at night, then comes back in the morning. As per the guide, they are known for their cute rat like singing.

Man-Made Mahogany Forrest

We also passed by the Mahogany Forrest in the town of Bilar. It's just a few meters after the Conservation Area. You'll know when you are there because it has about 2 km of Mahogany trees. Before and after you reach the man-made forest there are also naturally grown plants and trees of Loboc and Bilar..

This is a man-made forest was made after the word war 2 as part of the reforestation project because of an alarming deforestation at the time when people use kaingin system when they sought refuse during the war.

It has now become a tourist destination because of the formation of the trees. Tourists often post on the road with the forest on the background.

Went out of town for the weekend to celebrate a friend of mine's birthday! Whenever it's his birthday, it's always been a bongga celebration and I always love it. I get to go out and have fun with my friends. Although I am not close to some of them, but we have spent time before while traveling to different places to party.

This time we went to Busay.

See the view? So in nature and refreshing! Infinity pool with the view of the city lights! Plus, the night air is just so cold and damp. It makes you want to take a plunge. That is if you want get chilled, literally!

Time to lay back, relax and enjoy it while I can!

Met this cute doggie and got to play with him for awhile! I have always been a dog person, I got a soft spot for them in my heart and just seeing them so cute makes my heart melt!

Spent my birthday at SM City Cebu. Hubby brought me to a restaurant and had dinner. Then we went bowling, played some billiards and watched a movie. A perfect day it was!

I have always enjoyed bowling since I was in high school. My best friend and I spent our Saturday afternoons bowling at SM Cebu. It was fun and we started to get the hang of it. Until my friend went to the US. I didn't have any other friends who I can play with so I stopped.

Anyways, we had so much fun playing that my husband suggested going to the Bowlingplex the next day, I have not played there before. I've known the place for a long time and have been wondering how the place looks like.

When we got there, I noticed that it looks old outside, when we got in, it looks neat and so old school. It's like going back to the 90's. I did not know that they have a Family KTV there, they also have billiards, dart boards and a restaurant.

You may go directly to the cashier/information center and ask about their rates. The staff were friendly and are very accommodating .

They have affordable rates too! Their shoe rental is just P 25.00 pesos, but of course due to hygiene purposes, I suggest you bring your socks with you.

They have different rates for the weekend and weekdays, as well as the time of the day. You may choose to play per hour or per game as well.

If you choose to play per game, the rates stated on the poster are for "per head". So that's P65.00 per head per game.

It was about 7:00 PM when we went there. There was an ongoing tournament . It was a bit noisy at the time and so we requested to use the right side of the lanes where only a few were playing. They are cheaper than SM's Bowling Center.

When you are there, you will notice how old the place is, it's not maintained properly, but I kind of like it that way. It's like going back to the 90's. I like the smell. I like the feeling of being there.

Here's a picture of their restaurant, you can order pizza, squid balls and kikiam here. They have beers and a variety of soft drinks and junk food too.

Beside the restaurant are the dart boards, I wasn't able to check though for the rates but it looks fun. Though, I don't exactly know how to play it. =)

And they have the billiards! When I was young, my brother bought a Junior size billiard table. He used the money that he won while betting for Jai-Alai (is the spelling right). I had so much fun playing with my brother. I kind of grew up playing it with him. My brother taught me the techniques. During high school, my best friend - who left for the US and I hang out at billiard bars to play. It was kind of fun. I've met a few friends from different schools playing it.

I did not notice the Karaoke bar when we came, I was in for shock when I saw it as we went out. I did not know they have a ktv there. If I knew, I would have gone there countless times!

They also have a basketball court outside for rent. I am not sure though how much but I will inquire the next time we visit.

Boracay 2014

360 at BORACAY

It was an awesome experience. I love the clear water, the white sand, the fun activities, the sunset and the night life. It was our first time to visit Boracay and fell in love with it right away. I feel like I could spend an entire week and would still feel like I have not explored the place.

We were able to rent a room for Php 1,000 per night. Our friend April recommended Galleria De Boracay since her friend is the manager and gave us a discount. Love it! We stayed there for 3 nights and 4 days. I could never get enough of the clear water.

Our first day, we rested and went out to get some lunch. Andoks is the cheapest restaurant we can find in the sand bar area. But if you go to the main high way, you can eat at a Carederia and Silogan.

We spent our second day with fun filled activities like PARA SAILING and helmet diving. Para sailing cost us Php 1,500 per head. You just need to go to station 3 where all the activities are. This includes a speed boat ride to and from the dock in the ocean. It was amazing! It's the longest 15 minutes ever!

Next was Helmet Diving. It cost us Php 700 per head. The helmet weights 25 kilos but when under water, it drops to 1 kilo, so it's not that bad. Seeing the fishes under water was amazing, so full of colors. Of course, I was looking around for sea urchins, we were not allowed to bring slippers. Good thing I did not find any, I think they removed it. They also gave us bread so we can feed them to the colorful ISDA. Love it!

Spent the afternoon watching the horizon and the sunset. I love the view! Seeing a lot of people just sitting around watching the orange sky and the sail boats was an amazing view.

We went Island Hopping on our third day. It cost us Php 1,200 and another Php 200 for the boat fee. We were able to visit the Puka Beach and went snorkeling near the Crocodile Island.

We went home on our 4th day. Left the island around 5 am. Everyone is still asleep. We left early for Iloilo since our flight is at 2pm and they said it takes 6 hours to travel there by bus. The Bus and the Van to Iloilo is just outside the Caticlan Jetty Port. The Van is much faster, maybe about 3-4 hours, but as per experience, riding a van is not comfortable. Sometimes the air conditioning cannot support the number of people inside it. That's why we decided to take the bus instead.

Below is our 360 degrees view of Boracay. I hope you love it since I do. Can't help but laugh and smile watching it. It was a perfect vacation indeed!

Siquijor - Isla del Fuego

A long overdue trip. We have been planning it for about a year. We got too excited to a point that we bought 2 Siquijor maps without even knowing. Haha! Isla del Fuego means Island of Fire. This is what the Spaniards called it when they saw this island while sailing at night. The island was full of fireflies causing it to glow from a far. This is what I wanted to see when I get to the island. I don't get to see a lot of fireflies where I come from.

There's no RORO going to Larena, Siquijor so we got into a huge boat - the Montenegro Lines.

It was bright and sunny when we arrived at the Isla del Fuego. We went to Dumaguete first and spent a night there. In the morning, we bought tickets to Siquijor. It was a 2 hr, rocking boat ride. From a far, the islandl ooks so serene and too laid-back, just the thing I need for a vacation.

We were able to get a room at Hambilica Seaview Resort at San Juan. The owner of the resort is very accommodating and promoted Firefly Watching. Unfortunately, only a few fireflies goes out at night during this time of the year (July). She said to come back during November to March.

We went out and had our lunch at Chekesh Bar and BBQ. This was recommended by a friend. A lot of tourists eat here because of their budget friendly meals and there are a lot of food to choose from. It's also along the high-way so it's easy to locate.

Our plan was to tour around the island. They said it's smaller than Camiguin. First destination was Lazi, Siquijor! Loving this view! Stayed for awhile on this hill to enjoy the it. You don't get to see a lot of this from where I came from.

Next is the San Isidro Labrador Church. It was established in August 8, 1857. The church was constructed in 1882, and completed by 1884.

The Philippine National Commission by virtue of the same Presidential Decrees covering the declaration of the Lazi Convent also declares it as one of the historical, landmarks of the Philippines. Like the Lazi Convent, it now invite appreciation and admiration of visiting local and foreign tourists.

While walking around the Church, it feels a bit eerie, only a few people were there at the time. Indeed, this island is mystical in it's own way. You have to be there to feel it.

Next stop is Cambugahay Falls. It's just a few meters away from San Isidro Church. Entrance Fee is Php 20.00. And you get to go down the 135 steps. Hahay! I remembered going to Casaroro Falls in Valencia. It had 350 or so steps. I practically felt my knees shaking, haha! At least this one is not that steep. I was smiling while going down as I sent a silent thank you to the Lord ky at least dili ra taas.

Next is the Salagdoong Beach! But before you get to the beach, you will have to go through the Salagdoong Forrest. It was so quiet and love the scenery! You can hear the birds singing and tweeting! Will upload the video once I copy it from my mobile phone

Salagdoong beach is one of the most popular beach destination in Siquijor. It is a white sand beach in the town of Maria, A friend from Siquijor told me to never stop at any destination at this town. But, I say "hell no!". I got this far, I am not gonna back down because of some witch gossip. Hahaha! I love this beach, I would love to spend the night here, but we just have 1 day to spend. I will definitely come back when I have more time.

When we reach the town of Enrique Villanueva, we passed by this amazing view! The boulevard looks so beautiful, felt the tranquility, the calmness and the laid-back of the place.

Our last destination is the Centry Old Balete Tree! Indeed it was very enchanting seeing how big and old this tree is. I googled it and found out it's over 400 years old. Wow! Below it is fresh flowing water. You can dip your feet and let the fishes nibble your dead skin! At pra ka nang nag spa!

Pra kang kinikilig while the fishes nibbles you dead skin. You can feel a slight pinch and a tingling sensation. It was a great experience but a bit scary since there are lot of big fishes that swim there too! So when the big fishes gets near you, gagalawin mo lang paa mo so they'll go to the other direction. Haha!

Road Trippin' to Simala, Dalaguete Beach Park and Molave Milk Station

Our friends Jovie and his wifey Pinkle invited us on a Road Trip to Simala Shrine last Sunday- July 7, 2013. It was a beautiful, sunny morning and certainly a great day for a Road Trip.

We got to Simala around 11 AM. I was amazed how Simala has changed over the past year. It looked so simple before and now, it looks more like a palace. Nevertheless, I enjoyed going through the steps with the station of the cross statues in gold.

We then went inside silently and prayed. Ronald and I are thankful of all the blessing we received. Specially since our last prayer got answered. Thankful that our relationship is now more than a decade and we still feel strongly about each other. Thankful of all the blessings, love, understanding and support given to us by our family and friends. Thankful of the good health and after all that we have been through, we are still together.

With half the day spent, we decided to go to Dalaguete. Pinkle suggested the Dalaguete Beach Park. It's a white sand, public beach located just along the Argao-Dalaguete border. About 2-2.5 hours from Cebu City. I was very surprised seeing the white sands, the beautiful shoreline and the silhouette of Bohol Island not far from where we were. I instantly love it!

I can just sit here and relax, let time pass and let the view sweep my busy life problems away! I've always been a beach girl. I just love the white sand, the heat, the water and the wind. I have had a lot of great memories at the beach, it makes me want to stay a little bit longer.

Even though it's a public beach, it is clean and well maintained by the government officials. You can get it in with a minimal fee of Php 20.00 and another Php 20.00 parking fee. Their cottage ranges from Php 150.00 - 250.00. So it's very affordable! A lot of locals bring their mats with them and just sit on the white sand instead.

A lot of people come on weekends - Sunday, but it should be pretty deserted on weekdays. It's like a hidden beach resort that a lot of people don't know about. Another destination to visit again soon! Maybe we get to stay overnight and sleep on a tent.

After a dip, we decided to stop by the Molave Milk Station for some carabao's milk and ice cream. Since it's out of the way (other side of the mountain), they decided to take the shortcut from Sibonga-Dumanjug route to get to Barili (where the Molave Milk Station is) instead of going back to Car-car and then take the Barili route.

We were in for a surprise when we we saw a sign saying 74 kilometers, silently I computed the distance. If we are running 50 kilometers per hour, it will take us 1 hour and 20 minutes, more or less to get to Dumanhug. We decided to go ahead with the route since we were already half way.

And then it hit us, the cellphone signal started to keep on disconnecting, on and off and on and off. And the road went from cement, to asphalt and then dirt road. We started to think that we should turn around and go back to Dalaguete. We then became paranoid and started talking about the WRONG TURN movie. The guys started talking about the the kids and a few people walking along the road, they were looking at us, in a weird way and the the sun started to come down, it then started to get darker outside. I said "do we need to turn our t-shirts inside out?" just to clear the tension. We started laughing at our thoughts and started joking around. Ron then said to watch out for the people around us, they may start turning into "mananangals". Haha, we then started to think about the Manilyn Reynes movie "aswang".

It was one hell of an adventure! After an hour or so, we arrived at Dumanhug, and made our way to Barili. The carabao vanilla ice cream certainly is worth the adventurous ride! Thanks for the great company Jovie and Pinkie for being a great sport! Haha!

We headed back to the City and went to S&R for some dinner and shopping. It's our first time there and we were amazed by the menu and the pizza was so good! Someday, magpapa member din kami! They have very yummy pizza and chicken!

As we headed home another unforeseen incident happened, a forenger (foreigner) suddenly shouted at Ronald for being an ASS! The forenger wanted to overtake us but since we were faster than him, he missed the exit. Of course, Ronald, the hot head and always willing to fight back started shouting back at the forenger! Jovie and Pinkie was in for a SHOCK! For me, it was a constant thing, it's always been like that if Ronald is the driver. Good thing the forgener escaped when he had the chance. I'm sure Ronald will not back down. Specially not to a forenger opponent.

What a day! It was definitely an adventure worth telling! Till next time Jovie and Pinkle!

The 3rd of Fireworks Hunting.

Sinulog 2013 was a blast!

I say it was the best Sinulog experience I've had so far, the highlight of my experience was the fireworks in Ayala. I would never miss it for anything in the world! It's been a tradition for me and my husband to go street dancing and then watch Ayala's fireworks for 4 years now and I always feel overwhelmed by the people partying with Red Horse on their hands and see how many people crowd at the Ayala parking lot just to see the fireworks!

As usual, palpak na naman! My husband and I brought our Canon and tripod with us for the fireworks. But when the fireworks started, we realized we didn't bring with us the mount. Haha, so we were not able to shoot good stuff again! We actually thought we came prepared, just like last time.

But as usual, paraparaan na naman just to get the shots we want! Below are a few of the shots we have taken. I hope you guys enjoy it, like you are watching it live!

Fresh Cup Of Tea, Some Exercising and FUN with ZUMBA!

Nothing like a hot cup of tea on a cold, rainy Sunday afternoon!

I was recently diagnosed with Hypertensive Urgency which got me admitted to the hospital for three days. The thing that got the doctors alarmed was I never got any common symptoms like blurry vision or other vision disturbances, Headache, Dizziness, Nausea or appetite changes. They had me tested for other possible conditions like diabetes, heart enlargement and cholesterol. Thank God they are all normal!

Having been admitted and diagnosed, I am now conscious with my eating habits. I wanted to change my lifestyle and loose weight. I've been struggling with my weight for the longest time, but now I need to struggle harder and get the results that I want.

First thing to change is my coffee drinking. The doctor specifically said that it boosts pressure. .A friend told me to switch from drinking coffee to tea as it lowers blood pressure.I googled it and found out that she is indeed right. It also has L-theanine which explains why tea has rejuvenating effects. It helps reduce the negative effects of stress which is great since I do have a stressful job!

I then started drinking Lipton Yellow Label Tea and got addicted to it. I prefer to drink it before every meal.

L-theanine is also purported to increase concentration, promote weight loss, and boost the immune system. In addition, some proponents suggest that L-theanine can prevent stroke, Alzheimer's disease, and some forms of cancer. WOW, isn't that amazing?! That's a lot of positive effects from a cup of hot tea!

More medical benefits are explained on Lipton's fact sheet. You may download it here. Of course, too much of something, no matter how good that something is for the body will eventually become unhealthy. So 2-3 cups a day is the maximum for me.

Next is Cardiovascular Exercise! It's the best exercise for both the lungs and the heart. It improves your endurance,tolerance and helps you relax. I then started jogging early in the morning from Bacayan down to Talamban proper and vice versa every Sunday and Monday morning. It's kind of nice to be out so early in the morning, the air is fresh and a bit cold which i liked so much! During weekdays, I just do sit ups and stretching and Zumba dancing.

One Sunday afternoon, Jessica Soho featured Zumba being a popular work out in Latin and North America and is slowly being introduced here in the Philippines. It's fun, funky and very very effective! A friend gave me a copy of of the Zumba Fitness and it was indeed fun. Tried it for 5 minutes and I was sweating like a pig already! I like it since I always love dancing, and Zumba incorporate Latin music to International music!

Well I guess i need to get used to this lifestyle to get better. It's bad enough that I have a condition at such a young age. I am just glad that I now know about it and so I can do something about it.

DAVAO + GENERAL SANTOS + LAKE SEBU + GLAN

It's a long-awaited trip and have been planning it for the longest time and we finally got to visit Tetet's hometown! We went to Davao first, then traveled by bus for about 4 hours to get to General Santos and then Van to Polomolok, South Cotabato.

Everything was just perfect! The air felt so clean and fresh. We arrived around 7:00 PM and as soon as I got out of the VAN, I suddenly felt the cold air rushing through me. Wow, it's like Baguio minus the smell of the pine trees!

Do enjoy my pics as we toured around SocSkSarGen and thank you so much to Tetet and her family's hospitality. It was such a great experience!

The next day, we went to the 7 falls of Lake Sebu and it has the most magnificent view! It's a series of cascading waterfalls one after the other. I think it is the main tourist spot of Lake Sebu. It's the place one shouldn’t miss. I didn't ride the Zipline though, it was just too high and too long and I didn't feel like it. But it would have been nice to see the aerial view of the 7 falls. Damn! Seeing the photos that I found from other blogs make me want to go back and ride the ZipLine, haha! But I am so thankful to have the opportunity to visit the place. It has the most breath taking view!

We then went to Punta Isla Lake Resort where we ate our lunch! Everyone ate a big meal, I specially love the Chicharon Tilapia and the one wrapped in cabbage with a curry paste. I would love to go back and savor them again.

The next day we went to the beach! We went to Isla Jardin del mar, a white sand beach, they said it was once a secluded cove along the shorelines of Glan, Gumasa. It is a very relaxing and romantice place, specially during sunset. It ts the perfect place to watch the sun go down the Celebes sea horizon.

While uploading the pics on FB, I started to browse through my list of places to visit, and noticed Glan's famous beach is one of it. I am glad I have one place crossed out.. Yey!

Addicted to DEKARON Online GAME

Ronald and I have been playing Dekaron for 4 years now. First server we played was EG Dekaron. We played there for almost a year. The name of our Heroes were sophiaIzzz (Incar Magician), Devilgrave (Azure Knight) and jloscrib (Aloken). Our first Max hero is sophiaIzzz and was a member of a guild called YounGunzInc. Most of the players are pinoy but we were particularly close to a group of overseas pinoy workers in Saudi Arabia. I'm a bit proud being on that guild as you can feel the friendship among players and there was never a dull moment, even if one get killed on battles.

But, something happened. A GM sent sophiaIzz to prison and said that I was using TELE - HACK, that's when I started hating the game. He posted a video with sophiaIzz using a Tele hack. I was heart broken and disappointed as we never tried using any hacking software just to level up.

They posted the video on YouTube and so I poured my heart out on how i feel about our character being sent to prison and then got banned. I posted a lot of comments, but they deleted it, so I downloaded the said video and posted it myself. We sent a personal message to the head Game Master and told him about my character, they reviewed it and eventually freed our character. Thank God!

But, it's not the same anymore, me and my husband lost interest. And eventually stopped playing.

After 2 years, me and Ronald got married and got our own place. One night, I was alone at home with nothing to do and got tired of watching sitcoms, I started searching for Dekaron servers and found DEKARON NEMESIS. I downloaded the game and opened a new account, I then named my favorite hero as SophiaIzzz. She is max now with 2 Birth Rights and Max Rebirths. She is now a member of a guild called RED. I started loving the game again and Ronald got addicted.

We started voting online to get Coins, which are free, so we can buy stuffs for our hero. We then started donating, our first donation was $50, in return we got 28k tickets. We were able to buy max weapons and armor, plus rings and gems. SophiaIzzz became a monster, low level characters started calling her mumu or simply Miss Sophia.

It is fun and exciting, it's a level up and a PVP game. It's through the game where I feel strong and that I can be myself around anyone. Because, they never get to see the physical me. I get to joke around and laugh with other characters. I get to be strong and defend my guild members and even other friends from other guilds. I get to KILL unwanted characters and never feel bad about it. I get to be a winner and not a loser. It boost my confidence a bit.

It's through the game that me and Ronald get along so much. His hero's name is Devilgrave and he is a Knight. I often call him my Knight in shining armor. Haha, parang fairy tale. My friends on the game knows I'm married and that I'm 27. I have friends who are 14, 17, 18 and some are older than me, ages 30 and 35.

Sinulog 2012 was amazing! Although I was only able to get to the streets around 6:00 PM. Almost everyone are already drunk and the contestants are all sweaty. We decided to wait for Ayala's firework display.

We bunked near the Pioneer bldg in Ayala and waited for 8:00PM schedule fireworks display. A bit excited. We got a new tripod and we are looking forward to getting great shots of the fireworks display.

With nothing to do for two hours, we fondled a few settings on the camera and shot a few pics..

So many people waiting for the fireworks!

And then the fireworks started! I got really paranoid as we were directly below the fireworks! Instead of firework hunting, I started to hold Ron's hand and let him do the hunting! Haha.. With the ooohhhss and aaahhhs you hear from the back ground, I hear shrieks, squeals and howls. Hehe, seems like I am not the only one feeling concerned while seeing a few strands of fireworks fall a few meters behind us with fire on them! Yeah! Freaky, huh?!!.

But Ron just laughed at me started shooting, reassuring me at the same time that all is well. Hehe, he never fails to amuse me. Glad to have him beside me with such a romantic time seeing bright colors above.

This is the first time that I spent New Year with friends. Been spending it with my family for 25 years! It's about time that I experience New Year away. It was fun as our friend Dorothy is celebrating her birthday (January 1). So it's not just a New Year Noche Buena, but a birthday celebration as well.

Dorothy's house has a rooftop, where we setup the party, I was excited knowing we'll be on a rooftop as I would like to shoot some fireworks. This is my first time to shoot one. I am a bit excited and was glad that I was able to borrow a friend's tripod (mine died a month ago). Thanks AL! You're the best!

It was not easy hunting for a firework display when they just come out of nowhere. Shooting fireworks on New Years Eve needed a lot of focus, dedication and patience. Once you have a focus on a certain firework, another one pops up from behind. And they just pop and pop and pop which left me dumbfounded by the lights and sound and a bit frustrated as I need to adjust the tripod and set a few settings on the camera! PLUS everyone was shouting HAPPY NEW YEAR! It was one HELL of a PHOTO SHOOT for me.. Haha! FUN but frustrating indeed!

I hope you'll enjoy the pictures. It was one hell of a BANG for me as this celebration was a first of everything!
