It's the first time I've read them back to back and the first time I've reread a series (unless the two Lewis Carroll books count as a series) and I'm thoroughly enjoying it, maybe more the second go round. I'm up to book 6 now and am almost dreading the end.

I came back from swimming thirty and warm and not at all interested in making supper. But there was ice cream, and chocolate, and nuts, and caramel, and cones. I've been away and not posting about my new adventures. That doesn't mean I haven't been keeping up with my pledge to try new things. I've been trying as many new things as I can (and the Starbucks passion-fruit ice tea is yummy) I just felt that my simple summer adventures weren't interesting and in my discouragement, fell silent.

She's 10 and an aspiring authoress. We were told by my aunt - her grandmother - of one another and the writer-connection. She had the chance to go to Wonderland but chose to come meet me instead.

The same day, I got a message on Facebook asking me for the full recipe which I was happy to share with Jerry Guarino. Jerry tried the recipe himself and added raspberries. I immediately messaged him and asked him about them. Less than an hour later, my brother and I were on our way.
My brother isn't spontaneous but he loves me and rarely turns me down. He saw Camelot during the previews and didn't want me to miss my chance. And now I know why.

In North Carolina I was introduced to the southern biscuit which is butterier, saltier and denser. Southern biscuits go just as well with fried chicken or breakfast. tea biscuits are more of a snack or breakfast food.

The only rule. Keep it to about a page and somehow include a gift.


A gift is never just a simple gift. You've heard it said that it's the thought that counts, to me that means that a gift is a symbol of something lasting. Today, I took a risk. I shed the scales of yesterday and pushed tomorrow into change. But Today peeled back my skin. Change chopped short my emotions. Now, I've stunted nerve endings and I don't know what to feel. Sometimes I have to do things I don't want to do. Sometimes it doesn't feel like success to try something new.

Usually I pick something I wouldn't normally get myself - like a DVD series. The first year I bought Tin Man based on a recommendation from Amazon. Tea was one of those things I knew I didn't like without having to taste it. I tasted a new tea last night, mango coconut green tea. It was unusual, smooth sweet (but not too sweet) and aromatic. I love tasting new teas, even though I have a cupboard of favorites which include Chai and green tea fusions. Last night I attended the second ever The Sound of Writing where my good friend Andrea Shalay reading her story. I intended to write about the event but after getting home and getting Andrea sorted in my makeshift guest room - I wasn't feeling up to writing.
