JMac's Artbook

Wow....
This is pretty embarrassing. So as you can probably tell. I haven't posted on this blog for a few years. Actually I'd completely forgotten about it. Sorry lol
I doubt there's very many of you out there that followed my blog from years ago that are still around but, if you are I'll be posting here probably on a weekly basis from now on. I have a few projects I wanted to share and this will be a great way to make sure I actually continue to draw/paint/do art stuffs. And to all of you that randomly stumble across this blog. Hello and thanks for taking the time to check me out.

For starters here's a piece I did for a graphic design course.

This one wasn't too hard to accomplish there were few troublesome areas but for the most part I just did an image trace and added text. However, after doing this the pigs came kind of derpy so I had to go back and redraw/paint the faces. also the wall and the hooves had to be completely drawn. I have another piece I want to show before I start doing mostly drawn stuff again but, I'll save that one for another post. Maybe I'll post twice a week.

Thanks again for stopping by.

Long Time, No Blog?

Hey guys,

It's been a while since my last blog. Since I've been through the air force BMT and unfortunately I was released with a medical discharge. Now I'm ready to start posting(blogging) again. I will start posting new pictures(drawing and paintings) in a week or so... I haven't drawn much since last year... so this should be interesting. Thanks for still supporting this blog!

Thirteenth Page: Messing Around

Welcome to or back to my blog. This blog acts as a working Sketch/art book. Please check out my previous entries if you haven't already and feel free to leave a comment on any piece.Sorry for the long wait, but as my previous blog said I've been busy with the aif force delayed entry program(DEP) so my world has been a bit hectic. To be honest I haven't been drawing much lately and in turn could do a new page for the sketchbook. Since I'm pretty sure I won't be back to doing Daily Pages anytime soon, I'm going to change the format to weekly or bi-weekly until I get back into the swing again. Hope you enjoy today's page. As per usual done on the free to use/join interactive drawing site iScribble.net

2011-04-13T11:52:00.000-07:00

Welcome to or back to my blog. This blog acts as a working Sketch/art book. Please check out my previous entries if you haven't already and feel free to leave a comment on any piece.Sorry for the long wait, I haven't been drawing as much as I'd like to. I guess if I ever have these art blocks/stops again I'll just do another short segment like maybe my influences. Well anyways, today's piece is just my trying out that manga type of feel again. This time I focused mainly on the inking and the black to white ratio. Trying make something from nothing using empty space as an aid. Well Hope you enjoy! As per usual, today's piece was drawn on the free to join/use interactive drawing website called iScribble.net.

Welcome to or back to my blog. This blog acts as a working Sketch/art book. Please check out my previous entries if you haven't already and feel free to leave a comment on any piece. Today's Piece is the third of (probably a few) older pieces. Nothing much to say here. I was working on a character for a friends anime/manga project. It ended up getting scrapped and this was never finished. Hope you enjoy.

Today's Piece is the second of (probably a few) older pieces. I was still getting comments that were mostly positive so I decided to go back even further. Hope you enjoy.

Welcome to or back to my blog. This blog acts as a working Sketch/art book. Please check out my previous entries if you haven't already and feel free to leave a comment on any piece. Today's Piece is the first of (probably a few) older pieces. I'm still feeling under the weather but, I didn't want to not post. Rather drawing crappy pictures I figured I'd show old crappy pictures haha. But seriously, I thought it might be fun for you guys to look at my older stuff and see my progression. Hope you enjoy.

Seventh Page: EyeBrows

Welcome to or back to my blog. This blog acts as a working Sketch/art book. Please check out my previous entries if you haven't already and feel free to leave a comment on any piece. Today's Piece is little more than a sketch. Not feeling too well today so i'm gonna leave off with that. Hope you enjoy. As usual this piece was done on the free to use/join interactive drawing website iScribble.net

Sixth Page: Cartoons

2011-03-29T07:12:00.000-07:00

Welcome to or back to my blog. This blog acts as a working Sketch/art book. Please check out my previous entries if you haven't already and feel free to leave a comment on any piece. Today's Piece is basically me drawing for fun rather than to further develop my painting skills. Actually I've always wanted to be an animator or comic book illustrator. As I got older I was introduced to anime/manga and took a huge liking to it. Today's piece is just my take at a manga character. I'll definitely try this out again. I think might go back and paint the colored character. Hope you enjoy. As usual this piece was drawn on the free to use/join interactive drawing site iScribble.net

Fifth Page: Work in Progress

2011-03-28T06:03:00.000-07:00

Welcome to or back to my blog. This blog acts as a working Sketch/art book. Please check out my previous entries if you haven't already and feel free to leave a comment on any piece. Today's Piece is somewhat of a caricature of a friend. This is actually a lot harder than I thought it would be; it's so difficult to get the perfect mix of reality, gesture, and exaggeration. As the title says this still a work in progress so expect to see update in future entries. Thanks for check my blog out, hope you enjoy.

As usual today piece was done on the free to join and use interactive website iScribble.net

Fourth Page: Video Painting and 100+ followers

2011-03-27T06:41:00.000-07:00

Welcome to or back to my blog. This blog acts as a working Sketch/art book. Please check out my previous entries if you haven't already and feel free to leave on any piece. Today's Piece is an entry to a drawing/painting contest. Although it wasn't a prestigious contest or even I could put on my portfolio; it definitely felt good to win(not to mention it was a huge confidence builder.) Also I'd like to thank all of you for supporting so far. Thanks for following and commenting, it really makes what I'm doing worthwhile. So thank you guys for the 100+ followss, please continue to support my blog throughout the future.

Also today's entry is the first to not be drawn on iScribble.net.

Third Page: Speed Paint

2011-03-26T07:30:00.000-07:00

Hey guys,

Welcome to or back to my blog. This blog acts as a working Sketch/art book. Please check out my previous entries if you haven't already and feel free to leave on any piece. Today's Piece is a bit of fan-art. Halo has always been a personal favorite, well until reach but, that's another story. Well anyways today I'll be showing how a typical speed paint turns out for me. For future reference, if I post a speed paint it will typically be a paint that took between 1-2.5 hours to do. While my standard paints can be done throughout multiple days(a few hours here and there.) Well anyways I hope you enjoy, as always this picture was drawn and painted on an interactive site called iScribble.net which is free to join and use. Take care everyone.

Second Page: Failed Attempt

2011-03-25T14:09:00.000-07:00

Alright guys, welcome to or back to my blog. As you may or may might know this blog acts as a working sketch/art book. Today's piece will be another unfinished piece from an interactive drawing site called "iScribble." This piece is pretty rough in comparison to yesterday's post. It was made when I was beginning to look into abstracted/surreal art. This piece was scrapped because I felt like the whole piece didn't work well enough together; it felt more like a bunch of drawings taped together. Well I should be working on new pieces soon but until then I will continue to post older works. Most of my drawing will be from iscribble because unles I'm doing a big well thought out piece I mostly doodle there. Hope you enjoy, and thank you for visiting my blog.

My First Post!

2011-03-24T04:10:00.000-07:00

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog(or lack there of.) Like the title says this will be my first ever post or blog. This is an art blog so I'm going to start things off with some art. This piece is an older piece but still one of my favorites. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

This picture was drawn on an interactive drawing site called iScribble. It's pretty addicting but, this picture deleted due to inactivity so I'll never be able to finish but, here's to good memories.
