Mona&amp;nbsp;provides a home for chimpanzees rescued from captivity, helping them to live in a more natural environment and providing a place to aid people to better understand these amazing animals.

Most of these shots are comps. With the camera locked off on a tripod, I wandered around the subject flash-in-hand, firing my camera with a remote whilst pointing my flash at different parts of the scene, and then comping the lit sections together in Photoshop.

The town was abandoned in 1954 when richer sources of diamonds were found elsewhere, since then the desert has slowly but surely began to take it back, sand dunes now fill many of the interiors.

You have no choice but to stop here to refuel anyway, so it would be rude not to eat pie.... I had two!!

Dead Vlei, in the Namib Desert, is an awe-inspiring place. About 900 years ago, gigantic sand dunes fully surrounded what was once a shallow pool from river flooding. The water dried up.... the trees died. And so they remain for hundreds of years, skeletal and unable to decompose due to the intense heat.
