This would be our 2nd time annual year end trip for CSPians at Nagapuri, Kuala Penyu.

On 30th Dec 2011, we meet up at Lintas - Seri Rezeki / Hometown Sheng Rou Mien

We actually got lost in finding Nagapuri in Kuala Penyu itself. Males being males, they follow instict until went to Tempurung Seaside Lodge and asked the people there and so happen Nagapuri is just located further inside.

Pray for someone (at least 1 person, can be more) for their specific needs once each day.

Able to do a full form pull-up, headstand, clap push-up and float (swimming).

Complete a 10km marathon (I hate running so much that 2km I will punch people in the face, and I signed up myself for Borneo International Marathon 2012 10km category).

To newer readers, I've been doing this resolution post and review for years so here it is again.

Here are my 2011 resolutions (has always been based on my pastor, PS Kevin Loo, from CHC, KL. he came out this list to aid us in specify our goals.

*GULP* here we go:

SPIRITUAL LIFE

Start praying again, at least once every day. DONE

Everyday remember to thank God, at least for one thing. DONE. I love doing it! Thank you, God.

Going to church. (Christian friends, you can help by inviting me to ur church. English congregation plz) DONE. Thanks to Jefferey who gave me tickets to an event at GCC & Jesmond who persuade me back to Charis Basel Church, Bundusan on Christmas Eve. Should be going often whenever I got an OFF day on Sunday.

FAMILY & FRIENDS & RELATIONSHIPS

In an ultimate relationship! (Dear friends, if u wanna introduce me to someone might potentially become my date please don't make it sound so intentional. kthx) NOT DONE LOL. Met a few potential ones but gotta make sure decide for the best. I'm just gonna let it flow and eventually hope I got into an ultimate relationship and get married to this wonderful man.

Retain positivity among family, friends and colleagues. DONE, I think. I hope to improve tho.

Having more awesome friends. DONE! like seriously, this year like a shooting boost of knowing really awesome people into my life.

HEALTH

Tone and lean physiques, like Victoria Secret runway ready! SOMEWHAT YES, I'm definitely leaner and toner, not Victoria Secret angel ready, but I'm still proud of how far I've been today. I will make sure this as an aim for next year.

Stay an active lifestyle with more outdoor activities. DONE, white water rafting + Mt.Kinabalu climb + BOOTCAMPS = SuccessKid.jpg

EMOTIONAL, PSYCHOLOGICAL, GROWTH

Boost charisma DONE, I almost forgot I have this on my list. My "charisma" here refers to how I carry myself and influence others. I realize I did it when friends are inspired to do workouts or get costume making suggestion because of how far I came.

Smile more (no.1 tip to attract relationships by my mom. rofl. p/s - exceptional during cosplay) DONE, this year I seriously smile way alot more compare to anytime of my years on earth.

Make wise and faster decisions in ad-hoc situations. DONE, this is subjective, but consider my slowpoke-ness I'm still able to make some amount of ad-hoc decisions.

MATERIAL

Money money money, start accepting commission for sculpting works. Anyone wanna order cacat cendol? DONE, I did quite a few commissions this year. Purity seals, pendant, Slaanesh, and Chaos symbols.

Get at least 5 items from Ask, Believe, Receive list on the right side of the column. DONE. I got 7 of them, whoopie! (might amend, who knows I got more before new year comes lol)

Salary increment continues! NOT DONE. Guess not everything goes on your way huh. And thus, I realize I gotta go for something that I can enjoy and make more moolah. So here I come, Personal Trainer.

Change hairstyle! DONE, I think. Typical me would have gone rebonding with the current amount of fluff and waves of my natural hair. But I'm just gonna trim it sometime and leave it as natural.

LEISURE

Travel for a getaway to relax. DONE, although just going to KL, I absolutely enjoyed my moments to have a getaway in KL and meet up new and old friends.

More time for social activities -e.g. gaming, charity, outing, events. DONE.

Do more self-pampering stuff DONE. mostly DIY beauty stuff. Should try Spa next time.

CREATIVITY

Cosplay - Silent Hill Project DONE. waiting for pictures only.

Misc unfinished cosplay costumes DONE. Lina Inverse Slayer (DOTA) is one of them.

Cosplay - (not yet to reveal) Projects DONE. Which is Sister Repentia.

Finish the unfinished painted miniatures bought and given by Nic last year. NOT DONE. LOL. Guess painting miniature isn't my thing, or is it? Who knows as I age I would pick it up faster.
Make more geeky DIY accessories. DONE. Did alot of mold and sculpt

Alright so what's the score *drum rolls*

This year I'll be cosplaying two different characters each day. But as usual, I'm gonna keep it low til that day itself to reveal.

Hint? Alright, on 10th it will be a Warhammer 40,000 character and on the 11th will be a character from a famous custom-scenario real-time strategy game. I rest my case here til the event.

Logos Hope 2011 in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

Today's Public Holiday, decided to take a stroll at Logos Hope.

Around 10am-ish, RM1 per entry and its free for kids.

There's a free Bus shuttle provided for visitors to the ship and back to port entrance, unlike last time where visitors have to walk quite a distance to reach the ship.

There's quite some collection books for sale, but I just bring back a Logos Hope notebook, pen, and a bag. Greatly encourage you to drop donations to give extra support for this ship, as I've heard one of their generator broke down.

Imma let you finish, but Logos Hope has the best cookie in the world.

I swear, its the most tasty cookie I've ever eaten so far. Heard the ice-cream is good too but I didn't ate because I'm on "red-tide".

Its still on until 11th December, so hurry go check it out before it departs from KK.

Headhunters Challenge 2011: Brazillian Jiu-jitsu & Submission grappling competition

Yesterday went to check out the HEADHUNTERS CHALLENGE 2011 organized by BJJ Borneo Academyand Core Fitness around 2pm-ish.

Here are some pics I took during the event.

It was awesome event, too bad didn't manage to witness Julian (a long time friend, colleague and kickboxing instructor)'s match as I went got my bootcamp training. He got Bronze for his category, hooray! Hope to see more successful events alike in KK. Unlike the Borneo Gamers Showdown event that I mentioned in previous few blogs, it was ultimate failure and humiliation to KK as poor management and communication by organizer.

I'll keep away from rants, as its bad for health. Now I gotta focus on things to that makes me smile more. Have a wonderful holiday and fruitful Awal-Muharram!

I'm not talking about having extra-marital affairs or your exam.

I believe in "feel good" eating. Its OK to spoil yourself with mouth-watering food once in awhile.

Just don't over do it. Same goes to sticking to a "diet". I used to follow Atkins diet. It felt great after losing a big amount of 10kg but after that I felt awful to stick to an extreme low-carb diet and went back on a yo-yo effect fluctuates between 3-5kgs. And of course, my healthy and lean lifestyle going on strong for about a year now, thanks to Bodyrock.tv and Kinabalu Fighters.

I have no particular "diet" now. I just eat when I fell like and focus on what's good to consume for my body on daily basis.

Organic set meal. Brown rice and veges. The lunch I had just now =)

However, cheat meal to me, is essential to make me once a week to give me a boost of happiness throughout the week.

KFC's jelly ice cream. My classic favorite since I was a kid. I realize the times I never had it was my fatter and fattest days. Not any more ;)

From being low self-esteem and self-conscious to letting go, be, and LOVE myself, I found the real meaning to live. Eating while feeling good is one of them =)

P/S: I didn't eat this in a day LOL. Once a week of one of these is fine, you're not gonna get yourself into healthy trouble. Balance is the key to a better life!

So its Halloween!! 8D

This year, as Random Zombie nurse for Saturday costume night out.

Saturday -28th Oct everywhere else (restaurants and bars) was celebrating an earleir Halloween. I've also conducted the first P.U.S.H. Interval Training demo at CFF (click to check it out!) before that!

After great workout, ready for some party! So I went to Hallow Dinner 2011organized by Dino, sitted table with Sugali, Massy, Sakuya, Marissa, Fara, Daniel.

The last station of the night, we went to Cowboy Bar to "interrupt" our friend Clay in L62 band. Manage to knew some random friendly dude, which made the night-mid-night even livelier.

My new Fitness class - P.U.S.H. and upcoming Gaming Event

Yo! How are you readers? As you know I've started get myself really into fitness since a year ago. So after conducting several cardio interval training with kickboxing class at Kinabalu Fighters, I've also given a chance to provide classes at CRUZ Fitness + Fight Studio@PUTATAN.

A chance to help people from flab to fab? Hell yeah!!!

Praise the Lord for networking with people of awesome such as Faye (owner of CFF gym) herself.Starting next month, November, I'm going to conduct weekend classes of P.U.S.H. Interval Training.

If you're wondering what's P.U.S.H, it stands for PUSH UNTIL STRONGER & HOTTER. That's right, with just under an hour of class, I give you quick warm-up, stretches, and a short but intense workout you'll swear its like forever when you're doing it. But its time-cost-effective workout! If you're joining, I will also teach you to do intervals that you can do at home/gym/outdoor/outstation/hotel room.

Its all about variety, so if you're looking for a boring routine class, this is not for you. I LOVE LOVE LOVE variances in my workout, as stubborn/inflexible as I am as a Taurus =P

Occupied: Quick update and Preview of Halloween Photoshoot

Sup, just a quick update. Last weekend was trolling in Chun-Li cosplay at Japanese Cultural & Bon Odori Night at UMS.

Of course, I'm not the only one whose gonna troll.

Massy came back from Thailand kap kap and she brought me a bracelet, a pouch and this bangle.

It was elephant hair inside this bangle, which was known to bring luck ;)

I did some playing around with a bottle of rigid collodion (liquid for creating scar effect)

I mix red, black lipstick with abit of purple eyeshadow and mix with abit of foundation to make the base color and coat over layers of rigid collodion.

Also tested on other areas.

And a preview for a private photo-shoot for Halloween we did yesterday.

I herd you liek Silent Hill and thighs, so I put thighs in Silent Hill so you can play Silent Hill while enjoy em thighs.

Yup, most of you probably can guess it. So for le photos, you'll just have to wait.

The Last Samurai "Honor" Katana replica , Alice Madness Returns Vorpal Blade by EpicWeapons, and Pirates of the Carribean Medallion. Aside from that I've also won RM500 cash for being 2nd place.

I don't know how to express my gratitude towards ToyRebels when I saw the Vorpal Blade, because initially during gift choosing procedure, they did not have the Vorpal Blade in hand and they mention they gladly replace with other replicas/props/collectibles or item. I was asking in convenience because I've been eyeing on the Vorpal Blade replica for sometime since the release of Alice Madness Returns.

They granted my wish, and I'm happy. =)

HPPN 2011 - Agricultural day

Every year my aunt will represent Jabatan Perikanan Sabah to demo and sell her seaweed recipe at HPPN which normally held at Tamu KPD.

She came all the way from Semporna/Tawau and had the booth going on since 6th Oct Thursday.
Dried seaweed.

This is how it looks like when its soaked for two days. This stuff is good for health, joints and retain youthfulness.
The "jus" was made from blended/minced dried longan and dried jujube (red dates) cook with seaweed and rock sugar. Similar to Chinese dessert/cure heat drink. Taste good mang.

Some other stalls selling amplang-amplang, lekor, coconuts and etc.
Damara goats. lulz.
Ayam kampung.
Calves nom noming.
Mom loves orchids. She bought one small plant.
Parangs
Pure Oil/Essence extraction method.

Mushrooms. Ling Zhi at the bottom shelves.

This caught my eye, making paper mix with flower petals.
Can be made into alot of DIY stuff.

Homemade Sugar Wax

Wait, what? Make your own "wax"? No I'm not kidding, and using just household and natural ingredients. Its called Sugaring, mainly because its made out of sugar.

Apparently its not something new and it has been used God-knows-how-many-centuries. I felt slowpoke for knowing it only this year.

Today's attempt is because I'm already running out of cold strips.

Okay, so this is how you make it
Ingredients:
2 Cups of sugar (can be white, brown, light brown, dark brown, organic or raw)
1/4 Cup of lemon juice (this is crucial, without the lemon juice, it wouldn't work)
1/4 Cup of water

Note: You can also make smaller volume, just cut all the ingredients by half.

Put all ingredients into a saucepan and bring to boil.
When you start seeing some bubbling, simmer to medium-low heat for 5-8minutes (check your time, you do not want to burn the sugar and the wax will fail) and constantly stirring.
When it starts to brown, turn off the heat and let it sit for few minutes.Use a spoon to test its consistency, you can run it through water and and touch the consistency, it should be tacky but not melting like honey.
I scooped out a tablespoon and let it cool. Then I use my fingers plying it like a dough (as seen on the above picture), this should tells you your sugar wax is a success.

If its too runny means you still did not simmer enough, so bring it to boil again but do not go over 1-2 mintues because the sugar might burn.

Ready a microwave safe jar (this is because when its room temperature, the sugar wax goes stiff, you might need to soften it with microwave/hot water), I use this to put my sugar wax. 2 Cups of sugar made quite an amount I don't know when will I finish.

You can use bare hands or a pair of surgical gloves for waxing. Make sure the area you want to wax is dry and clean, its good that you go over with talcum powder.

Another important note: When you apply, its the opposite way of using cold strips i.e. apply against you hair root, rip off as the same direction of your hair growth.

Ever since I stumbled upon this video on sugaring, I never wanted to buy cold strips from drugstores again!

Most first timers may not get used to make the sugar wax plyable, but after some practice you'll get to it. Do check out youtube on Sugaring, there's alot of tips on it.

It's incredibly easy to make and don't be lazy if you wanna save cost!

Attended Otafuse Day one as Chun-Li. It's my first time cosplaying an Asian character. It was harder than I thought because I need to conceal my natural eye brows.

In Loving Memory of ZoOm

When my brother called me this morning (while at Massy's open house) asked me about ZoOm (Leonard Chau, 31, a friend who is so dear to me)'s death, I got shocked and disbelief.

Then Nic confirmed it was true. But I was still totally in denial, I did not belief that a friend whom I've been missing for so long as the last I meet him he is still in good shape, optimistic, humorous, carefree and caring person. He has been on withdrawal since his illness got worsen and refuse to meet his friends and avoid contact from outside, including deactivate his facebook.

Until I went to see him for the "last time" at Fook Lu Siew just now.
He look so calm, sleeping, and this smiling face of him reminds me of the times we met. I burst into tears while the prayer session stars, knowing that I've accepted the fact that he is now gone.

Even though we haven't been in touch for a long time but he sure has a special place in my heart. Will keep it alive and well. I thank God for I've come to know him even thought it was such a short period and now that He sets ZoOm free from sorrow. Fun and happy times working with him during SabahGamers.com. I could imagine him smiling down on me now =)

You'd HIIT it?

Yesterday night I ran through a HIIT workout with a handful members of Kinabalu Fighters.

You must be wondering WTF is a HIIT? It stands for High Intensity Interval Training, a form of cardio method that is made to improve fitness level without going for long hours of exercises. Also a very powerful fat burner as you will continue to experience high metabolic rate for hours and hours even after cool-down period. It ranges from 4 to 20 minutes and it is meant to be kept as short as possible and as intense and possible.

In short, the keywords are INTENSE, SHORT, EFFICIENT and EFFECTIVE. So, I call it the no-excuse exercise.

I first learn about this method is from a beautiful Czech Republican, Zuzana, of BodyRock.tv 2 years ago.

But I never tried it (I was never an active/sporting person to begin with) until last year October. Then, it totally changed my lifestyle.

So here are the workout breakdown of what we did last night:

4 minutes Tabata warm-up
8 intervals, each interval 20 seconds and a 10 seconds rest in between each interval.

Exercises:
1. High-knees
2. Squat Thrust (without the push-up)
3. Jumping Jacks
4. Mountain climber

So that makes you repeat the 4 exercises one more time and your tabata warm-up is done.
Note: you may use Tabata as a full workout by repeating 3-4 times as long as its intense and no longer than 20minutes of the total workout.

Without resting, we proceed to the next 12minutes of hell.

12 minutes BodyRocker fusion (I pick most of the exercises some from Zuzana's workout)
12 Intervals, each interval 50seconds and a 10 seconds rest in between each interval.

Exercises:
1. Side -jump lunge
2. Blaster push-up
3. Deadman's burpee

Total 4 sets of these exercises then you're done.

Note: Blaster push-up links to an intense 4 mintues workout so if you don't have time or outstation you can do which is better than skipping your workout.

We also did a time-challenge with some exercises but I won't be explaining as it is optional and not part of HIIT. But all in less than 20minutes!

If you think the above exercises are too much for you, you can always switch them to an easier/beginners exercises like sprints, dumbbell lifts, wall push-ups, triceps dips etc. Its really customizable as long as you have an pre-set intervals with a short rest in between.

HIIT is a great workout to do before you are going for post higher carb-meals. Best do right when you wake up in the morning or before your dinner since the fat burning takes place during and after the workout.

You may download this interval timer app, RoundtimerX, to your phone and start training, also can use it for circuits.

I'm no fitness expert, but I hope this post helps you people alot especially those with high commitments of life and lack of time for exercises.

Anyway, my friend Nova made a blog post on supporting me in this competition and look what he did:
LOLOLOL, I find it damn hilarious. Luckily I wasn't drinking my green tea in the office when I first saw it, if not, I assure you that I've spit my green tea on the screen. Reminds me of Smooth-E commercial.

As for my diet progress so far, I'm coping it well sticking to a wholefood lunch. Til then.
