Been to the Technical University of Denmark due to a work's trip with my colleagues to Copenhagen. Really enjoyed our tour around the university. Fell in love with the Sky lab. It actually inspired me to blog again.

4 weeks abroad - Cornwall forever

2014-08-04T11:40:00.002+01:00

The last weekend in the UK we went down to Cornwall to see our friends from university. We had the greatest time and we are so grateful for everyones hospitality and making us feel so welcome.

BBQ with uncle Sam and aunt Collette.

The great view from Sam´s summerhouse. So lovely and peaceful.

Lovely Jimmy and Seth

I think Seth found his true friend in Jimmy because he wanted to be with him all the time.

Tea break at a beach in Falmouth

We went to see lovely Ralph, his missus and brother in Falmouth. They cooked us a lovely meal and we had a great night staying up late catching up with everyone.

Gorgeous beach in Falmouth.

Back at base with Sam's family watching the football finals. Such a nice night spent with lovely people.

The elegant bedroom we stayed in. It just sums up the summery atmosphere in Cornwall.

4 weeks abroad - beach joy

2014-07-30T21:28:00.002+01:00

Llangennith beach! we meet again!!!! During our stay we had to drive back to our destiny city Swansea where Mike and I first met. Mike couldn't wait to get back into the sea to kill some surf abstinence, and while he caught some waves Seth and I made sand castles and ran away from the breaking waves at the water's edge.

A little surf lesson with dad.

Surf nerd 1 and 2 :-p

After a whole day splashing in the water and building sandcastles we headed back to Cardiff.

Best moment ever! Seth so satisfied after such an eventful day, catchy music playing on the radio, Mike next to me confidently manoeuvring the car around narrow roads around the Gower...my happy place :-)

4 weeks abroad - just us and the Celtic Manor Resort

2014-07-30T20:34:00.000+01:00

Every time we drive in towards Cardiff we get a small sight of the Celtic Manor Resort at the top of the hill. We have found it so tempting to go there and since we were spending such a long time over here, we decided to finally explore the place. We enjoyed it but it is a shame we couldn't take photos when we went for a swim in the pool cuz that was the best part.

Running through the corridors is always a hit.

Outside the Celtic Manor, really nice golf pitch

Great choice of Hanne, Mats and Elise to come and meet up with us in Cardiff the first week. It is a perfect way to meet everyones interests by pairing up the kids, the men and the laaaaadies hehe

We rented a car and drove to Swansea and Langland Bay.

4 weeks in Britain - it's been great! Seeing family, meeting friends, exploring new places and enjoyed nice food and warm sunny weather. If I only new when I first moved over to study back in 2007. So glad I did!

Easter Fun with Little Cub Part 2

2014-04-15T21:33:00.000+01:00

Sunday came with the perfect Easter weather,so we packed the car with our ski gear and left Tromsø early in the morning. Little Cub has never been down hill skiing before so we drove to Målselv Fjellandsby to let him experience the thrill of this adrenalin sport and the atmosphere at a ski resort. Mike and I were so looking forward to it because we had not been down hill skiing since we went to France about 3 or 4 years ago. Way too long.

Lunch at the ski resort.

13th April 2014 and Seth is 1 year and 2 months exactly. The ski instructors had never seen a younger child skiing at the ski resort before, and there were a few people taking his photo. Gosh I can brag but hey...I am so very proud of him every day and all the time.

Easter Fun with Little Cub part 1

2014-04-15T20:54:00.001+01:00

Back to our sweet holidays and the opportunity to plan our week as spontaneously as we'd like. Saturday we took Little Cub to the slopes above our flat where he cross country skied for the first time. I thought he would be frustrated having skis attached to his feet, but he enjoyed it a lot. He only moaned when we took the skis off and got ready to go home. Funny little lad.

The lovely flowers I received from my nan after shopping.

Our trip to the Ski Hut

2014-03-23T19:50:00.002+00:00

We all thought that winter was going to loose its icy grasp on Tromsø but there has been a perfect drizzle of snow which has freshened up the ski tracks above our flat. Lucky for us, little Cub loves the outdoors, so we skiied with him in the ski pulk from our flat to the ski hut both yesterday and today.

Today the café was open so we had coffee and waffles outside. I enjoyed our trip a little bit more than yesterday, this was due Mike's loving gesture of buying me a new set of carbon skies as an early birthday gift :-). I think he thinks that buying me nice light gear will get me outside more.

As you can see from the pic below our son does not need to be persuaded to go skiing. He is grabbing his woollen clothes and is super eager to be pulled by his dad and shout at him to go faster whilst he is tucked up in his sheep skin sleeping bag.

My mum came to meet us at the ski hut to spend some time with her grandson in the snow.

Little Cub's 1st Birthday

2014-02-13T09:53:00.000+00:00

One year has passed since you were born and I still remember that day like it was just minutes away. It has been the happiest year of my life and I feel privileged to wake up next to you and follow you day by day.

We celebrated little Cub's birthday at Dad's work last weekend. Baby really enjoyed his party. Thanks everyone for celebrating with us and for making his day so special. I couldn't ask for more having Mike, Mum, my closests girlfriends with their lovely husband, partners and children gathered around my little son. You guys are stars!

`Where did you come from, baby dear? out of the everywhere into here´ (george macdonald 1824 - 1905).

X-mas.

2013-12-30T23:05:00.001+00:00

Along with all the x-mas amusement baby got really ill with fever. It was hard to see him outside his normal energetic self having little appetite and interrupted sleep in the night. We all felt so bad for our little cub. He was really ill the night before Christmas Eve, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day but luckily he got better Second Day of Christmas when he started antibiotics. A few days after we went outside to enjoy his new sledge. I am just so relieved baby is back to normal again.

My mum and nan entertain little cub so that he takes less notice of how ill he feels.

Christmas Eve at my mum's.

Baby got to open the first present which was a huge hit :-)

We opened presents on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day to keep both the Norwegian -and the British tradition in tact.

Off to Charlottenlund to try out baby's new sledge.

Marry Christmas!

2013-12-22T22:31:00.000+00:00

Thanks to baby I captured my perfect Christmas card photos during one of our strolls in the December day light. Sadly I never organised them into postcards and sent them to our friends and family the way I so perfectly planned.

In that case I just turn to my blog and post the photos here. My number one plan B as I keep my blog as my personal diary. Hopefully one day baby can go through all the blog posts and see some of the things we did together during his childhood.

It is not long left to 24th December and I am so excited to celebrate baby's first Christmas with the people I love the most.

We wish you all a sweet Christmas and a joyful New Year!

The brightest star of them all

2013-12-13T21:56:00.000+00:00

Happy 10 months old my little youngster. You are the best December joy I have ever had. The ski trip with you and Dad to see the lovely December lights. It makes the dark times up here in the north so much brighter. Our little drive in the cold dark evening out to Ersfjorden for hot beverages at the Café. The early December mornings helping you to open the Xmas calendar from 'Mor'. Visiting great grand mothers warm Christmasy house and taking you to the gymnastics xmas show. Hello Xmas spirit you are finally back :-)

Gymnastic Christmas Due

2013-12-06T23:14:00.000+00:00

Yesterday was the last day for my two youngest groups in gymnasticks kids 1-2 year olds and 3-4 year olds. It is going to be nice to have some lazy Thursdays during Christmas, however Seth is going to miss the other kids a lot. He will definitely have his batteries fully charged for next year's take off. Tomorrow is the dress rehearsal for my 8 year olds before the Christmas show on sunday. Break a leg.

I tried to share my Christmas costume with baby, only he just laughed and kept pulling the hat over his face or chucked it off. Luckily I was quick enough to snap one photo of gorgeous baby Santa.

First real 1st December joy!

2013-12-01T12:58:00.001+00:00

Happy 1st December everyone! and thank you mum for making Seth such a nice Advent Calendar.

Finally it is countdown till Christmas Eve but first we got the best time of the year 'Advent'.

Enjoy it everyone and the way it snows outside I don't think we need to worry about getting any snow for Christmas ;-)

You and me

2013-10-01T14:37:00.000+01:00

Wow Little Cub you just don't stop to surprise me with your new tricks. This autumn you are doing so well pushing yourself forwards and learning so much new about your environment. It's funny how you love to touch everything we try to hide away from you, especially the TV remotes, mobile phones and least but not last your dad's x-box. You are doing something new every day and we spend loads of time outside. Luckily we got to capture us enjoying some inside time too.

Autumn in Tromsø

2013-10-01T14:11:00.002+01:00

Fresh air and back to cool and dark nights again. Wrapped up in warm woollen clothes strolling along the streets and paths covered in colourful leaves. I find this time of year gorgeous and with Little Cub happy on the bike it is perfect to take in the autumn atmosphere.

2013-08-27T10:55:00.000+01:00

Lovely Sunday at the lake with Little Cub. He liked watching the ducks on the wather and I just loved watching him :-)

6 months old today

2013-08-13T20:00:00.000+01:00

Happy Half Year old birthday Little Cub! Time goes so fast and my little son is pushing himself around the floor laughing and grabbing everything he can get hold of. Today he has done some 'high fives' with his dad and also had his 6months injections at the child care centre. He did really well and unlike his mum he got little fear of the needle...(think that will change at a later stage unfortunately). We had quite a productive day and during his afternoon nap his Baby Journal got updated HURRY! He is my sun and stars and I am so proud of him. All the best for little Seth. Thousands of kisses and warm hugs from mummy and daddy :-*

Reminiscing good holiday moments.

2013-08-09T18:17:00.000+01:00

Summer holidays is comming to an end but flashbacks from driving around in Britain visiting lovely friends, colleagues, family and familiar places in the sun recalls my memory all the time and I really miss it all. We did not have any lazy days, instead I just loved getting up early with baby and Mike, jump in the car and have endless hours only doing things we wanted. Baby has grown so much over the summer and I wish I had the opportunity filming him at the swimming pool by Cardiff Bay. Not sure who was the most excited going around the 'lazy river' me or Little Cub. Think he was laughing more at me than with me but it was good fun. Next summer our little Aquarius may be going fast down the water slides sitting on his mum's or dad's lap. I am already looking forward to the next summer holiday but till then I am enjoying each day seeing the little one developing and waking me up with a huge smile. Happiness for me!
