Medical Records Duties: • Support the medical records function by creating, retrieving, auditing, filing and maintaining all clinic patient files in the Medical Records Office. • Process all clinical medical records requests, ensuring patient authorizations for release of records, maintaining patient confidentiality and timely response in accordance with HIPAA. • Maintain log of records released, create invoices and record of checks received for medical records payment. • Provide support to patients, students, doctors and practitioners by answering questions, retrieving charts and processing medical records requests. • Prepare daily out guides for patients charts and pulls charts for appointments. • Ensure chart notes, lab reports etc, are filed in an orderly manner and in the correct location of the file. • Prepare chart copies for student case studies in compliance with HIPAA and archive older than three years records. Clinic Billing Duties: • Obtain accurate insurance and payment information and all relative documentation from patients at the time of appointment scheduling or check out. • Compute a complex discount structure to a diverse patient population including but not limited to employees, students, health care practitioners, college students, income restricted and specialty service patients. • Responsible for supplying medical records, insurance and patient information to the billing department to ensure an effective and timely accounts receivable process. • Assist the billing department in collecting past due fees and documenting the transaction. • Provide patients with the sliding scale fee information as needed. Medical Records Duties: • Support the medical records function by creating, retrieving, auditing, filing and maintaining all clinic patient files in the Medical Records Office. • Process all clinical medical records requests, ensuring patient authorizations for release of records, maintaining patient confidentiality and timely response in accordance with HIPAA. • Maintain log of records released, create invoices and record of checks received for medical records payment. • Provide support to patients, students, doctors and practitioners by answering questions, retrieving charts and processing medical records requests. • Prepare daily out guides for patients charts and pulls charts for appointments. • Ensure chart notes, lab reports etc, are filed in an orderly manner and in the correct location of the file. • Prepare chart copies for student case studies in compliance with HIPAA and archive older than three years records. Clinic Billing Duties: • Obtain accurate insurance and payment information and all relative documentation from patients at the time of appointment scheduling or check out. • Compute a complex discount structure to a diverse patient population including but not limited to employees, students, health care practitioners, college students, income restricted and specialty service patients. • Responsible for supplying medical records, insurance and patient information to the billing department to ensure an effective and timely accounts receivable process. • Assist the billing department in collecting past due fees and documenting the transaction. • Provide patients with the sliding scale fee information as needed. Qualifications: Associate&#8217;s degree from two-year college or technical school required and three(3) years of medical office experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Provide faculty assistance with course material posting on Moodle or Electronic Reserves, mail processing, exam copying and student communication and exam scheduling. • Train faculty members to use electronic reserves. • Maintain student and faculty contact information and classroom schedules. • Ensure that faculty files are in compliance with ODA regulations and provide information to the Office of Institutional Assessment as requested. • Provide scheduling and proctoring of make-up tests for students and quarterly group remediation. • Process IT requests and work orders for faculty. • Set up course pages for faculty and assist them in their maintenance, including enrolling students and residents in course pages as needed. Archive all course materials quarterly. • Prepare and distribute policies and pre-term information to all faculty, including bookstore order forms, procedure updates, academic calendar information.
