            I have no idea what I was thinking when I applied to work as a bagger in this hellhole for almost 4 years. They said that they were going to train me on the cashier and that hasn't happened yet, that was two years ago and they move the new baggers onto the register and I don't think that is fair.  out of all three of the managers only one of them is the only one who is respectful and knows what they are doing and the store manager and the other assistant manager don't. The store manager is always complaining about overtime and always has something or other with the form of big bold all caps text with over a million !!!!!'s Just last week I got 17 hours and only got 25.33 for that whole week, what a load of crap! I can't wait to find a new job and leave this hellhole!

            Terrible paid intern experience.  Didn't pay enough for me to pay even my most basic living expenses, but expected  me to be available at all hours of the day and night--ironic, considering all their discussion of ensuring that every Millennial has a "living wage."  Kept on changing my start and end date, and whenever we discussed a raise, "forgot" to add it to my paycheck.  Didn't hire me after the internship because they said they wanted to hire someone more expensive... but never put up an ad for a new person!  Absolutely hypocritical.  If you work for them, get EVERYTHING in print, and save all communications.  That is the ONLY way they will be FORCED to follow through on the promises they make you.  Also, alleged AFTER they didn't hire me that they didn't want to pay unemployment for me because although I spent 8 hours a day in the office, 3 days a week, plus two days telecommuting because I commuted 6 hours a day to the office, that I really was a part-time.  Absolutely unacceptable work environment--no wonder no one wants to stick around with them.

            Do not work for the UP. I don't care if you're a Rail Fan and you dreamed of working for the railroad since you were a little kid. Don't do it. Buy a model railroad or go to a railroad museum. Working for the UP is a fate worse than death. Employees have lost their homes, cars, retirements and life savings. Just go to work at McDonalds or Wal-Mart. That's where you will end up if you take a job with the UP anyway.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;The UP flat out lies. Guys were told they were going to be working so much that they would never see their families when in fact the UP had no work for them at all. Some poor guys were laid off the minute training was over. Many haven't worked steady in 7 years. The UP wants you there if they need you. If they don't, then your screwed, never mind you have a family. They might hire you just to fill in while they train engineers. They won't tell you that. And when the training is over you are out of a job. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;The UP hires you to fire you. They call it an FTX. Basically they sabotage your job and if you don't realize it you're fired. You have a score. It starts at 1000 points. Every time a manager, or Weed Weasel as we call them, FTXs you they take away points until your fired. They do not like having guys with 1000 points. They will test you and test you till you fail. Even if they have to blame you for something a crewmember did who was a mile away from you when he did it. Most bosses want their employees to do well. On the UP, they want you to do badly. They hate it when they can't get a failure. They get so happy when you screw up. They act like a little kid at Christmas.  &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;UP trains are junk. Multi million dollar locomotives being held together with duct tape. They break down constantly. And of course when that happens a Weed Weasel shows up to test you. Never mind the broken train. It's more important to harass employees then move freight.&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;br&gt;You never know when or if you are going to work. We are supposed to look at the employee website to see when our train is going on duty. This can be off by as much as 48 hours. Of course the second your head hits the pillow to sleep the UP calls you for work. It's so stupid; the computer will say you're supposed to go to work in 4 hours. But your buddies have already told you there is a derailment and nothing is going to run the rest of the day but the computer will still say your going to work when your not.&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;br&gt;UP- we don't care and it shows.&lt;br /&gt;

            This company does not invest in its people and has one of the highest turnover rates I have ever seen. People that have worked at the company for years are let go without notice and people that just start and let go after a few weeks with no reason. Your job never seems to be safe. Having people let go is not the only issue. People also quit Ariad all the time once a new opportunity comes along. Morale is quite low and people are required to work late to save face. Managers sit at their desks at 7pm checking their email just to show that they are late in the office. My manager even admitted to me that if she arrives an hour late for work, she will stay at least an hour late "even if there is nothing to do". What a waste of time.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;Sucking up to management is an absolute requirement and a joke. Management at this company is concerned mainly with appearances and if you are not fitting into the comapny mold, you will be let go. There is little room for individuality and creativity, and compensation is unjust. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;I would not recommend working at this company. You will learn very little and there is not much room for advancement.

            Here it is in a nutshell...&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;Inbound Sales Rep:&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;br&gt;Positives:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;Hired @ $15/hr + commission... (*See negatives though)&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;Full-time every week (40+hrs)&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;While there are disclosures, you can generally say what you need to close the sale&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;Negatives: (Here we go)&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;Pay was changed to $30 per install.  Why is this bad you ask?  Instead of getting $15/hr no matter what, all agents now get NOTHING if they are idle (no calls in queue...ie-Sunday's), are in any AUX (training, QA, breaks, etc), installs get cancelled,etc.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;A TON of uncontrollables that DIRECTLY affect your pay.  You see, you must maintain a closing percentage of 27-32%, meaning of course appx 1 out of every 4 calls MUST be a sale and it MUST get installed to get paid.  Now you WILL get SCREWED.  You WILL get Customer service calls (already installed customers), you WILL get customers with absolutely no credentials (no credit cards, no debit cards and no checking accounts...! A LOT), customers WILL fail the credit criteria forcing them to pay hundreds before getting installed (nothing worse than finally selling a customer that asks a ZILLION questions and he/she fails the credit check), "Somebody speaka Spanish"...yup, Spanish calls hurt, etc etc etc.  It gets INFURIATING.  Not to mention if the tech goes to install and he doesn't get a line of site, has a bad attitude, etc etc etc, you DON'T get a DIME.  You'd be better off being home watching re-runs of Friends, because you just spent an HOUR on the phone with someone that asked a million and one questions, didn't get installed and you get NOTHING.  At least before, I was getting something to talk to these idiots.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;The managers, coaches, etc will ask you AT LEAST 25 times PER DAY how many sales you have and will YELL EXTREMELY LOUDLY how many each rep has so they can tally each rep at the front board with a marker...this happens every 15 minutes.  Better reach for that mute button, because customer DO hear this.  If they hangup...you lose.  &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;If you are having bad luck (and it does come down to luck) and are falling behind in sales compared to your teammates/call center, expect to hear it...and be made fun of, and be yelled at and be told to "Go to QA" so the mgr, coach, etc can ream you a new azzhole.  And if you have a string of bad calls and are stuck on the same sales total for more than 30 minutes, expect to hear it too.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;You see, it could be a decent place to work.  Back when I was getting $15/hr+comm I could tolerate all of this and if I did get a bad call, I wouldn't get too upset.  NOW if you get a bad call or spend a ton of time on the phone with a customer only to have the customer hang up, you get NOTHING.  ZILCH. NADA.  A teammate of mine worked 12 hrs on a Sunday (11:30am to 11:30PM)...made 3 sales that day.  Ended up getting ONE install and made...YES THIRTHY FREAKING DOLLARS FOR TWELVE HOURS OF WORK ON A SUNDAY.  That's $2.50/hr my friends.  Imagine going to work on a Sunday...all day...and losing money.  RIIIIGHT.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;I worked there for a loooong time, and it kept getting worse.  It felt sooo great to tell my mgr that I was quitting.  Never regretted it.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;I am skipping a lot of other bad stuff for the sake of this review (breaks timed down to the second, horrid morale on floor, constant turnover (job fairs every other week there), yelling, cursing, unprofessionalism, bad bad benefits, no time off (2 years to get ONE sick day...and no it's not paid), etc etc etc.&lt;br /&gt;

            I was actually surprised to read the reviews I did. As a mother, I find that Family Dollar not only provides a safe and stable work enviroment for myself, but awesome benefits for my entire family. I'm not talking your generic ppo plan, but actually very legitimate health, dental, life, vision......all the way down to legal. You will work at the Family Dollar,as there is no time to stand around and coast, but I think you will find it very rewarding long run. In addition, there is plenty of room for advancement.

            Everything about the place sucks. No respect from the Director or asst. director. or even other staff members. The pay is low  The buildings are dirty the food is not good. No one follows and rules. Way to much drama. You really do have to kiss butt to get anywhere.

            Slaveco, hah! Had not heard that one untill this site review! Safeco rep sent this site to me, review of the comments was humorous! With the company 12 years, 2 with ASI and 10 with Slaveco! Though that it could not get worse, WRONG!!! I was passed around with UM's, from a super compentent UM that left for a good company, then a really stupid cunt from ST Louis, her mommy/daddy had a large agency, soooooo guess how she got a job. Her major accomplishments was firing good reps, hope she got the same when a competent manager finally recognized her incompetence, then a resonable out of state UM, had to help him train his people so he would survive the numbers game! Then back to another smooze UM, ok but could not believe anything he said! Then he got the ax! Replace him with a real idiot! One of those intimidators types, full of himself! He is still there, manageing the KC unit! He was on the take from the FOX bodyshops until they went bankrupt, screwing vendors for millions and bad mouthing insurance companies for having to pay kick backs! Reported all to Corp security, per company policy manual, as all in unit knew it was happening but so afraid for job that they did not want to report it! Corporate Security was a joke on first pass!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;When 2nd report made, upper management got into protection game for UM, wow recognized corp policy was not the same for line as it was for management! &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;MY ADVISE!!!! Don;t believe corprorate policy!!! They will screw line adjuster, but protect upper management!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;Thought the local HR and Regional managers were standup guys, they were just paying lip service!!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;My advice, don;t ever get into claims, but if you are inclined for such a thing, don;t trust Slaveco to give you a good shot at a career! &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;Field adjuster are mostly competent, BUT watch out for some of them, they are stooges for the UM as they are also scared for there job and think watching the back of the UM is going to make them safe!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;The ASI merger was a real clusterfuck, incompetent management a real problem then, it has only produced a culture in management that just doesn;t give a damn about their people!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;I am with out economic bondage now, and will be leave soon!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;Paula Renyolds as a CEO was an absolute joke!!! She was as corrupt with /S\ as she was with Dynergy!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;She is on the board of Andarko, as soon as I learned that, all stock with Andarko was sold ASAP! &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;Now for the present, It appears the same crap that went down with ASI merger is going down with LM merger! 20-30 yr vets being managed by 2 yr call center wonders that know it all!!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;Watched that senario go down 10 years ago, with fatality claims I had settled for $5-800,000 but could get no authority from little Wendy, then they blew up to $2 million, this happened more than once!!!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;Well Safeco stock plunged in that time period, suspect LM with do the same!!! &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;In summary, don't go into claims, if you do, for god's sake don;t do it with Safeco!!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;They, lie, cheat you out of your off time, and try to steal you self respect! In my opinion, the good reviews on this site are little company lap dogs, or UM's like the gal from St Louis with a powerful mommie and daddie!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;Suggest Travelers, Firemans, Federated, go into commerical lines, stay away for personal lines!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;This is a review from a 32 year veteran in claims, advising Safeco 10 years as the worst!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;All above is true to the best of my knowledge! Dare anyone to respond with anything other than the truth I have just told!!&lt;br /&gt;

            It is a terrible place to work.  The owner motivates by threats and intimidation. Very poor morale which is complicated by senior managers that are incompetent and over worked.  Ownership won't let you do you job because they are always looking over your shoulder, changing your directives, and reading all of your emails.  Don't Waste your time with this company.

            An ex employee of this company. Screwed up both my life and career. They have one of the the worst HR and resource allocation team I have seen in any other company. on top of all this they are into unethical practices like misuse of L1 visas. most of the L1 visa holders of this company work as system administrators and network administrators.             I am an old employee of this company and cannot believe that they have yet to be busted for all the fraud and abuse they dish out.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;Throwing out evidence in a lawsuit - Maxim's top brass has already done that.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;Hiring Prosititutes at regional meetings - Maxim already does this.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;Encouraging drug use - Maxim is excellent at that.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;Asking nurses to perform illegal acts - yep, Maxim has done that.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;Revising negative criminal background checks so they can get paid for staffing a nurse - Maxim is a pro at this.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;I could go on and on, but there are not enough characters to allow me to write it all.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;This is an old Boys network, the owner of the Raven's football team, is the owner of Maxim. All his high school buddies run Maxim and his other companies. They have no ethics, no morals, no nothing.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;If you complain, you get fired, don't play along, get fired.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;I look at their website and they say they have a compliance dept., and a bunch of other departments, it is all smoke and mirrors, they laugh at the regulators. They don't comply, they don't even know what it means. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br&gt;I wish they would loose their accreditation and loose contracts like mad. I would hate to see some people jobless, but the majority of them, there is a special place in h*ll for them - DF the CFO is first in line!!!!!!!!!!!!&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;br&gt;If you are a nurse, working for Maxim could cause you to loose your license from the illegal activity they conduct. I would think long and hard before taking a job with Maxim. There is NO ACCOUNTABILITY AT THIS COMPANY! THEY WILL FIRE YOU FOR COMPLAINING - you have to play along.&lt;br /&gt;
