&lt;b&gt;&amp;nbsp;A lot of events have happened&amp;nbsp;over the&amp;nbsp;past year. I pondered on the&amp;nbsp;words &quot;on earth peace, good will toward men&quot;.&amp;nbsp;What did they really mean?&amp;nbsp; I asked myself, &quot;Where is it?&quot;&amp;nbsp; &quot;What happened?&quot;&amp;nbsp; God did not change...... he is still the God of peace.&amp;nbsp; Then....it must be us.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;b&gt;In Paul&#39;s letter to the Romans there was division about food in chapter 14.&amp;nbsp; He talks about one man&#39;s faith allows him to eat everything and another only vegetables.&amp;nbsp; But, not to pass judgment&amp;nbsp;because each one of us will give an account of himself to God.&amp;nbsp; Chapter 14 goes on to say to make every effort to do what leads to peace and mutual edification.&amp;nbsp; &lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;b&gt;&amp;nbsp;We can apply this story&amp;nbsp;to what has been going on in our country. We are not talking about food...&amp;nbsp;I think&amp;nbsp;you get the message. We are to pursue peace and build up one another. Jesus so beautifully says he does not give as the world gives. He has left us His peace. &amp;nbsp; So...the question remains...Are we sharing the good will towards men that&amp;nbsp;the angels proclaimed?&amp;nbsp; &lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

The surgeries left her one eye blind, and in less than nine months the other eye as well.&amp;nbsp; Her son had taken her to a specialist in the hope of finding a solution.&amp;nbsp; The doctor informed her due to the amount of damage he was unable to help. &amp;nbsp;He counseled her to try and accept she would remain blind.&amp;nbsp; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

She could not even&amp;nbsp;fill in and assist&amp;nbsp;with the care and feeding of her new grandchild. They needed her help, but what could she do?&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;She felt so helpless and broke down in tears.&amp;nbsp; In the midst of her despair, she did not give up praying.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

We realized she was a stray cat.&amp;nbsp; We decided to take her in until we could find a good home for her.&amp;nbsp; It was stressful to keep the animals away from each other.&amp;nbsp; My dogs wanted to attack her, and I was afraid she would eat our cockatiel and guinea pigs.&amp;nbsp; We sent a text&amp;nbsp;picture of Tiger to a friend from church.&amp;nbsp; His beloved cat had passed away several months earlier.&amp;nbsp; Our friend and his wife came to see her.&amp;nbsp; Tiger immediately responded to him, and they wanted her for a pet.&amp;nbsp; We were overjoyed to have found the lost&amp;nbsp;cat a home.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;

I hate exercising!&amp;nbsp; Last year I made several attempts to ride an exercise bike.&amp;nbsp; It was hard to get motivated&amp;nbsp;to actually get on it.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Last fall I finally forced&amp;nbsp;myself to exercise for about forty minutes.&amp;nbsp; The next few days I was so sore I ignored the &quot;no pain, no gain&quot; motto.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;While&amp;nbsp;I struggled to start exercising again, &amp;nbsp;I noticed&amp;nbsp;the bike was missing.&amp;nbsp; My husband&amp;nbsp;told me&amp;nbsp;he put it out to pasture.&amp;nbsp; Several weeks later&amp;nbsp;I&amp;nbsp;was slumped on the sofa flipping channels, and noticed a show about New Year&#39;s Resolutions.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;They stated about 35% of people fail on their resolutions in January.&amp;nbsp; I can definitely&amp;nbsp;identify with that.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
In order&amp;nbsp;to succeed at a given task,&amp;nbsp;I realize it takes more than will power.&amp;nbsp;Because of&amp;nbsp;my weaknesses,&amp;nbsp;I need the&amp;nbsp;help and strength of the Lord to not fall short of what he wants me&amp;nbsp;to be.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;I am so encouraged by the scripture in&amp;nbsp;Lamentations 3:22-23,&amp;nbsp;&lt;span style=&quot;color: #990000;&quot;&gt;&quot;Because of the Lord&#39;s great love we are not&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span style=&quot;background-color: #eeeeee; color: #990000;&quot;&gt;consumed, for his compassions never fail.&amp;nbsp; They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.&quot;&lt;/span&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;So when you get up each morning, &amp;nbsp;his&amp;nbsp;mercies toward you will be &quot;new&quot;.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;Our God is faithful, and&amp;nbsp;He won&#39;t forget his promises to you&amp;nbsp;no matter what time of the year.&lt;br /&gt;

&amp;nbsp;I looked at the manger and felt something had been missing.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;It needed a star.&amp;nbsp; I shopped around at different stores to find the right&amp;nbsp;one.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;I found a star with a lovely incandescence, which could be seen from every angle.&amp;nbsp;I was excited to see how it shined in the dark.&amp;nbsp; What a difference the star made!&amp;nbsp; It&amp;nbsp;illuminated&amp;nbsp;a beautiful glow, but what&amp;nbsp;moved me&amp;nbsp;was how&amp;nbsp;much attention&amp;nbsp; it drew to the manger scene.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;

I read the Christmas story in the second chapter of Matthew,&amp;nbsp;and&amp;nbsp;became aware of the significance the star played. &amp;nbsp;The star was leading the Magi to Jesus.&amp;nbsp; &lt;span style=&quot;color: #990000;&quot;&gt;&quot;After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span style=&quot;color: #990000;&quot;&gt;Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, &quot;Where is the one who has been born King of the Jews?&amp;nbsp; We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him.&quot;&lt;/span&gt;&amp;nbsp; King Herod heard and wanted to find out more about where Christ was to be born.&amp;nbsp;&lt;span style=&quot;color: #990000;&quot;&gt; &quot;Then Herod&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span style=&quot;color: #990000;&quot;&gt;called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared.&lt;/span&gt;&amp;nbsp; He asked&amp;nbsp;the Magi&amp;nbsp;to report back to him,&amp;nbsp;because he wanted to go and worship Christ.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;span style=&quot;color: #990000;&quot;&gt;&quot;After they had heard the king, they&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span style=&quot;color: #990000;&quot;&gt;went on their way, and the star they had seen in the east went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was.&amp;nbsp; When they saw the star, they were overjoyed.&lt;/span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;The star became a beacon for the newborn King.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;Darkness was dispelled, the Light of the World had finally arrived!&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;

We recently enjoyed the blessing of the birth of our fourth grandchild.&amp;nbsp; As we held her in our arms we marveled at the miracle God had performed.&amp;nbsp; We laughed, counted toes and fingers, wept at the sheer miracle of life.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
In some ways what we did may have been similar to what Mary and Joseph did on the night Jesus was born, but when I reflect on this most miraculous of births I am overwhelmed to think of what Mary and Joseph must have seen as they gazed into the face of this one who&#39;s birth had been &quot;promised and then heralded by Angels, attended by Wisemen, and proclaimed to all who would hear by Shepherds.&quot; They were told their son had come to be the &quot;Savior&quot; of all mankind.&amp;nbsp; The sheer magnitude of what they must have felt is captured by Luke who tells us Mary &quot;treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.&quot; (v.19)&lt;br /&gt;

I felt they should keep a bakery&amp;nbsp;item available.&amp;nbsp; It annoyed me to&amp;nbsp;drive to another store.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;Why&amp;nbsp;is it so hard to keep sub rolls on the shelf?&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;

I finished shopping&amp;nbsp;and sat in the car to reflect on my interaction with the manager.&amp;nbsp; I was upset with myself for not remaining completely calm.&amp;nbsp;With tears running down my face I prayed, &quot;Lord I failed you again. How can I be a&amp;nbsp;faithful witness for you?&quot; &amp;nbsp;Immediately I felt the Lord&#39;s presence and heard him say, &amp;nbsp;&quot;I need people with passion so I can use them.&quot;&amp;nbsp; My heart was filled with peace and joy because God can utilize me for his purpose. &amp;nbsp;We are all a work in progress!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
I started to read about people from the Bible&amp;nbsp;in a different light.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;I began to see their flaws, and yet they still accomplished tasks for God&#39;s kingdom.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; King David was a man after God&#39;s own heart, even with his indiscretions and outright sin against God.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;

&lt;span style=&quot;color: #cc0000;&quot;&gt;&quot;Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me and I will be whiter than snow.&amp;nbsp; Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice.&amp;nbsp; Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity.&amp;nbsp; Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.&quot;&lt;/span&gt;&amp;nbsp; David asked God to cleanse and wash him and most importantly to blot out his iniquity.&amp;nbsp; But what I found fascinating was David wanted the Lord to create in him a pure heart.&amp;nbsp; He knew only God was capable of this request,&amp;nbsp;because he had created him and everything.&amp;nbsp; Yes, God is more than able to do it for me.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;I began to pray,&amp;nbsp;&quot;Lord create in me what is lacking.&lt;br /&gt;

In Mark 6:32-36, it tells of Jesus and his disciples going to a solitary place.&amp;nbsp; But, many who saw and recognized them leaving, ran on foot from all the towns and got there ahead of them.&amp;nbsp; When they got to their destination, not only was it not solitary any longer, a large crowd had gathered.&amp;nbsp; Without Twitter, Facebook, radio, internet, television, or any other form of communication, people actually ran and arrived before Jesus.&amp;nbsp; Can you imagine having that kind of success?&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
So,&amp;nbsp; Jesus began teaching them many things.&amp;nbsp; When it was late in the day the disciples asked Him to send the people away so they could go and buy themselves something to eat.&amp;nbsp; In verse 37 it says,&lt;span style=&quot;background-color: #f3f3f3;&quot;&gt;&lt;em&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;color: #cc0000;&quot;&gt; &quot;But he answered,&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/em&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;background-color: white; color: #cc0000;&quot;&gt;&lt;em&gt;you give them something to eat. They said to him, That would take eight months of a man&#39;s wages!&amp;nbsp; Are we to go and spend that much on bread and give it to them to eat?&quot;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The Lord was teaching a lesson in multiplication when he asked them to take care of the food.&amp;nbsp; The disciples had calculated eight months wages for the size of the crowd.&amp;nbsp;&lt;em&gt; &lt;span style=&quot;color: #cc0000;&quot;&gt;&quot;How many loaves do you have?&amp;nbsp; He asked.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/em&gt; &lt;em&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;color: #cc0000;&quot;&gt;Go and see.&amp;nbsp; When they found out, they said, Five - and two fish.&quot;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The lesson continued when Jesus directed them to have all the people sit down in groups on the grass.&amp;nbsp; They sat down in groups of hundreds and fifties.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;I believe there was more to&amp;nbsp;the&amp;nbsp;grouping of the crowd than just being orderly.&amp;nbsp; But, the best part was coming!&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Jesus then took the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks.&amp;nbsp; Let me repeat that part again - He gave thanks first!&amp;nbsp; Next, the Lord started giving the broken loaves to the disciples to set before the people.&amp;nbsp; Then &amp;nbsp;Jesus &quot;divided&quot; the two fish.&amp;nbsp; Not only did everyone eat and were satisfied, there were twelve basketsful of broken pieces of bread and fish left over. &amp;nbsp;Little became much!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Five loaves and two fish make seven, which feeds over five thousand people, with twelve basketfuls uneaten.&amp;nbsp; I don&#39;t know about you, but I would take that multiplication any day of the week.&amp;nbsp; Jesus repeated the miracle another time for four thousand and asked his disciples, &quot;Do you still not understand?&quot;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;u&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;background-color: white; color: #783f04; font-size: large;&quot;&gt;&lt;strong&gt;PSALMS 127:1&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/u&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

Psalms 127:1 states,&lt;em&gt; &lt;span style=&quot;color: #cc0000;&quot;&gt;&quot;Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain.&quot;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&amp;nbsp; How many times have we tried to produce large numbers, to make or become many, to increase without giving thanks and having Jesus in charge?&amp;nbsp; How many loaves do you have?&amp;nbsp; Go and see.&lt;br /&gt;
