I have had the BB plan with the 3 out/5 in-store exchanges for a 4 months. I used to time it so that I would mail in 2 movies on Thursday and get 2 new ones for Saturday for movie night with the SO. For the last 3 weekends, I've return mailed 2 movies at the same time and only received one movie on Saturday and I get the other on Monday. I've noticed that they seem to even hold up during the week if I mail 2 in on Tuesday....It seems like they are willfully holding back one movie when you send in 2 for an exchange.

I just signed up for NF and I'll see if they are any better. I am mainly interested in the Showtime series, so I'll see if they do any better with queue fulfillment as a bonus. I am also interested to see how the unlimited on-demand works with my tivo.

I am not upset with BB at all...and both BB and NF cheaper than subscribing to the premium channels on cable. I may just keep them both.

FYI, there is an open-source Perl module that runs against a berkeley DB loaded with the US Census data you mention. Its similar to GeoCoder.US running on your local network. It can geocode about 1-10M addresses per hour.

I too had done both and went back to Netflix BUT I still do the instore Total Acces at Blockbuster which allows unlimited movies and/or games per month for $34.99 for 2 out at a time. With game renatls being so high and the availability on both online sites of the new releases this makes sense for me. Most wouldn't want to spend the mponey for 2 seperate services but I can get games and new releases at the Blockbuster store and online with Netflix I get a huge selection and Many More BluRay movies than at the BB store. If I had to go with one option I would try the Blockbuster again online for a time before I could decide.

Awful customer service, bordering on criminal. I bought a used Tivo and tried to get service for it, but couldn't because the prior contract wasn't completed. So instead of ending the prior contract so I could start a new contract in my name, Tivo transferred the prior owner's contract into my name, without my permission, and made me responsible for the remainder of the contract.

I only found this out when going back into my account to make sure that they had billed me the correct amount. My "recourse" was to cancel "my" contract early and pay a termination fee. Nice option for their error. Just to insult the prior owner, Tivo also exposed all the prior account details in my online account. Glad to see the don't care at all about safeguarding personal information.

So I will never do business with Tivo. They have proven to me that they are not trustworthy at all.

We have been BB total access members for a few years now and never had a problem in mid 09' there movie turn around slowed down for a few months but nothing worth getting upset about we always get our movies the next day I find no problems in getting the new releases the next day as long as I have no movies out and the new ones are on the top of my que. When I have gotten discs that wouldn't play BB sent my coupons to rent it in store within an hour or so and shipped an extra movie the next day to make up for it. I usually return my movies to my local blockbuster and have new ones within a day or so by mail it usually takes me 3 days to get a new movie but our outgoing mail serivce is slow. My only complaint with BB is not all there stores give you no late fee's when I exchange my movies in store they are due back in 2 days or I get late fees since I rented them under my total acess they should be free no matter when they are returned.

so i am currently a NF customer with the 1 out program + the instant streaming thru my PS3 and xbox. now the plus is that when there is nothing to watch on tv, i turn to the instant streaming for NF, only because usually i am waiting for the next dvd in my queue. What bothers me is that if i send a dvd back on a saturday they do not process it until the following monday, Why wouldnt netflix employees work on sundays when their customer demands is higher. To get a new release thru them is like asking for the kids to clean their rooms. it takes more than a month. they do not list movies that were released on tuesday, you have to know the name of it and look for it. thats rediculous, i used to work for holloywood video and loved the fact that anyone could come in for a new release and it be there on demand in my hand, no waiting. Im thinking about switching to blockbuster online/in store due tto the fact that if i want the movie right this second, its only a 2-3 minute drive. yet when i dont feel like getting up or wasting the gas i would rather be able to stream live thru my tv set or whatever system is compatible.
hopefully in the future BB turns to streaming thru directv or something of that nature. it would deffinently turn on customers not only to subscribing but helping each comapny market it selves more.

BlockBuster (BB) has become CustomerChacer (CC). They don't seem to understand the concept of customer service and customer satisfaction.
For many years I have had one of the highest prices subscriptions costing, with tax, about $1 per day. Movies came so infrequently, I wrote them a message. Their response was almost insulting, claiming that they were meeting their obligation, when, at times, movies were coming at a rate of one per week.
I changed my subscription to a one step lower level, thinking that someone would catch on to the message that I was not paying them as much and the reason given as to why, was because of the poor service they were giving me.
   The service got worse.
I returned movies several days before the Christmas Holoday. None came until the Monday after. It would have been nice to have a flick or two to watch over that weekend. But not any from BB-CC were here. I have camcelled my subscription all together and will try NetFlix, as I told BB-CC I would, several times.
