Komen for the Cure. Tempo Luxury Home by Joe Ginsberg Design was thrilled to join the cast of amazing designers on display at the show house this year. We partnered with fashion design house Magaschoni to create a unique gift showcase within Holiday House. The mixture of Tempo’s colorful, organically designed home décor pieces, and Magaschoni’s classic, yet playful designs worked perfectly together in the space.

The room’s centerpiece was a trio of blown glass pendant lights title Virtue. This collection of striking pink light fixtures are available in three sizes. The soft pink light of the Virtue collection casts a spotlight on our Piazza table in golden concrete and gilded steel directly below. Completing the vignette atop the table was a collection of golden Magaschoni jewelry pieces encased in our Sonata Belle du Jaar glass terrarium. A number of beautiful glass, whimsical pillows, and furniture pieces rounded out the room and made this gift showcase a standout in this year’s House.

Didn’t make it to the show house this year? Not to worry! The entire collection is available for sale on our Etsy Shop.

When a routine studio visit from our home accessories buyers at Barneys New York turns into a brainstorming session, amazing things come of it! And that is indeed how Joe Ginsberg’s first book, Bark.N.Y. was born.

As with any idea or project created from his Midtown studio, Ginsberg builds from sketches and doodles, tweaks and tests and when Dina Smallman of Barneys New York came across a collection of canine-themed drawings lying around, the ideas flew fast and furious. Pair these sketches with a collection of city-themed dog photography Ginsberg had also gathered for fun and inspiration and the perfect publication came to be!

To kick off the release of Bark.N.Y., Joe Ginsberg Design joined Barneys New York for Artisan Day Saturday November 12, 2012. Our post was strategically located between the book and dog boutiques on the 9th floor, which made for a constant stream of canine visitors throughout the day. Owners had the opportunity to browse through the exclusive fine art version of Bark.N.Y., which some of Ginsberg’s includes original drawings and paintings. This unique, one-of-a-kind original is also available through Barneys. And our puppy pals posed waited patiently for their gestural portrait painted by Ginsberg himself!

Visit the Joe Ginsberg Design Facebook Page to view the photo album from our fun-filled day at Barneys. Bark.N.Y is available starting December 9, 2012, exclusively at Barneys New York Chelsea Passage or online at www.barneys.com. It’s the perfect gift for the dog-lover on your holiday gift list!

As Chairman and CEO of Spin Master Toys, Rabie oversees the research, development, and design of each toy the company produces. It’s with that same eye for quality and product design that Rabie sought New York-based interior designer and artist Joe Ginsberg to re-imagine his home workspace. Ginsberg’s customizable multi-tier, multidimensional, solid mahogany, sculptural shelving unit Plateau, serves as the frame for this extraordinary room.

The centerpiece of the room’s refined design includes a one-of-a-kind painting chronicling the success of Spin Master over the last 17 years. This grand canvas, still in progress inside Ginsberg’s midtown New York City studio, features the company’s signature toys including Earth Buddies, Tech Deck, Mighty Beans, and Moon Sand, each re-imagined with an organic sensibility Joe Ginsberg brings to each piece.

Both the canvas and home office will come together in November. Stay tuned as we reveal more about the progress of this unique project.

How does a product design make the journey from concept to the consumer? In the case of the Fizz lighting collection, which is part of our home furnishings line Tempo Luxury Home, it was born from the challenge of transforming a 60’ long corridor with 11’ high ceilings into an exciting interior space.

After designing and installing a custom rug runner for the lengthy corridor, the next step was to create the lighting. I had a vision of ghosts dancing up and down the space creating movement in glass. I decided the best way to capture that vision in a tangible element would be to produce custom lighting fixtures.

I started sketching and came up with hand blown glass shapes that were faintly colored and seeded so as to allow the light to softly move and dance across a room. This was the start of the Fizz Collection, the first lighting series introduced by Tempo Luxury Home.

When it came time to design our exhibit for the New York International Gift Fair, we created the illusion of a large chandelier using the Fizz Collection’s individual fixtures hung as a clustered overhead display.

Buyers from ABC Home and Anthropologie showed interest in our lights. After a few months of negotiations, both companies placed orders. Currently, the Fizz Collection can be purchased at ABC Home in New York City and Anthropologie’s nationwide and online stores.
