Yep, it’s me — the bloke behind the camera. If you’ve just got engaged, congratulations and welcome.
I’m a Triangle-based documentary wedding photographer who has been trusted to document more than 300 celebrations across Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, and North Carolina since 2008. Over the last 15+ years, I've learned that you deserve fine art wedding photography and portraits that look like they belong in a gallery—without making you feel like a stiff, awkward mannequin.
Most of the day, I work quietly in the background with an honest, unobtrusive photojournalistic style, catching the real, unscripted energy of your day exactly as it unfolds. My goal never changes: to tell your story in a way that feels true, timeless, and unmistakably yours.

Joe not only took incredibly stunning, artistic photographs that captured our emotions and precious moments perfectly, but he also did a great job wrangling my large bridal party.
We were married at Duke Chapel and had the reception at the Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill and he knows both towns (& the best places to shoot photos) like the back of his hand, which made for fantastic scenery for the photos.

Our venue was in Virginia, so a bit outside of his normal Raleigh area. Without me requesting it, he actually drove up to our venue a few weeks beforehand, to scope out the site! When I heard he did that, I knew we were in good hands.
