another morning of low teen temperature planning a surprise party for my feet with good old Mr.Cold Wood Plank Floor. The temperatures at night have been brutal cold. Clear skies. Bright Moon. Crisp Air.

There are two mini greenhouses next to my window in my living room... about 10 feet from the wood stove. The hot cherry peppers in the top one have started to grow. The first sign of spring indeed.

of the 72 cells, about 20 plants decided to pop last night.

I feel like a proud father.

i am going to name this one "sprouty"

here is the whole set up...the pine shelf was on sale at kmart for 16 bucks.. the seed cells were 4 bucks at big lots. the top cells are cherry peppers the bottoms are sweet green peppers. both seeds were taken from store bought peppers over the winter.

"So I went back to that hotel and found their room and knocked on the door, and the minute the big one opened the door, I shot 'em right square between the legs, right where it would really hurt 'em most, you know. Then I went in and shot the other one as he backed up pleading to me to spare him. Then I went down to the police station and turned myself in."

Now, baffled lawmen are trying to figure out exactly how to deal with the vigilante granny. "What she did was wrong, and she broke the law, but it is difficult to throw an 81-year-old woman in prison," Det. Delp said, "especially when 3 million people in the city want to nominate her for Mayor."

Australian Gun Law Update

Hi Yanks, I thought you all would like to see the real figures from Down Under.

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by a new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by our own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars.

The first year results are now in:

Australia-wide, homicides are up 6.2 percent,
Australia-wide, assaults are up 9.6 percent;
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!

In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. (Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not and criminals still possess their guns!)

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since the criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.

There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the elderly, while the resident is at home.

Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in 'successfully ridding Australian society of guns....' You won't see this on the American evening news or hear your governor or members of the State Assembly disseminating this information.

The Australian experience speaks for itself. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens.

Take note Americans, before it's too late!

Malware attack!

While searching google images a few weeks ago, I ended up clicking on an image that was not an image at all, It was a malware attack!

I was given a pop up box that said I had spyware detected on my computer and Microsoft Spyware Smasher needed to be installed. Well I was not born yesterday and I know that microsoft would not use a pop up window from a russian blog site to install new software on my computer.

I closed it out,

or thought I did.

The next thing i know, some program i never installed is running a scan, Malware detected! please pay 39.00 to remove it!

i restarted my computer, it got me back to my desktop, but it was blank and any click or keystroke i did, restarted the scan.

I restared the computer once more and hit
CTRL+SHIFT+ESC ?
went to file / new task
and typed in explore.exe

I downloaded and ran three different spyware programs, finally i came across Hitman Pro and it fixed everything for me. After running Lavasoft for the last 10 years, Hitman not only saved me, but is now my freeware version of choice.

download it here and be amazed at what you find on your computer that none of the other ones did.

An Indian Chief is in constant pain from not being able to go pee. He walks through the village to see the medicine man.

He tells the medicine man, "I no go pee for three days"

The medicine man looks him over and tells him, "drink five cup of tee, see me in the morning"

The next morning the chief shows up and tells the medicine man "still no pee"

medicine man say, "tonight, drink ten cups, see me in the morning"

The following morning the chief shows up and he looks bad, bloated and bags under his eyes, "still no pee" he tells the medicine man.

medicine man tells him "20 cups, tonight drink 20 cups and come see me in morning"

The next day around noon, the medicine man is wondering where the chief is, he never showed up. He calls the whole tribe together and tells them the chief is missing. They all start running in different directions, looking for their leader.

Blackberry Storm Running Low on Memory?

By the stroke of pure luck, I was down to about 3MB of system memory and after exploring and failing to free up memory by deleting old unused files... I came across "BlackBerry App World".

It seems that every application you download in App World stays in App World, even if you no longer use it and have deleted it.

By simply upgrading App World, my BlackBerry deleted the old version along with all of its downloads, and installed the new version. I went from 3.6MB free to 27.8MB free.

I would also recommend running " MemoryUp Personal" It is a freeware program that defrags your memory and simply moves clusters around. There is a upgraded version you can pay for, but i never have and do not know how it works. The program only uses up 111kb of memory compared to Facebooks 1.3MB

The first night I spent in my new house was just about five years ago to the day. I had just finished moving my crap in and was settling down for the night, On my couch in my living room. I did not have a bedroom set up to sleep in yet.

No curtains no shades no blinds.

3am comes and I am awoken to a cars headlights shining in my living room, I get up and look out the window and there is a car coming up the road at three miles an hour. I now realize that this happens all the time on my road at night, somebody lost, took a wrong turn, trying to figure out where the hell they are. But that night, I was nervous, cell phone dead, nobody in the house but me. After a while they pulled in my driveway and turned around.

The next day i left work at 3pm and drove to the Rome Shelter. I walked around in disgust at all the barking pit bulls, rocking their cages whenever anybody got close to them. I was turning around to leave and there, right next to the door I walked in was a mid sized black lab mix, sitting at attention, just looking at me.

I asked if I could take him outside for a walk. I was given a leash and a collar and me and "Branden" went outside. The first thing he did was go pee. he than walked around with me, never once pulling the leash, he immediately showed me affection and respect at the same time.

That was the last time he showed me respect because "Kyle" as his name would become, pulled off a hell of a scam on me.

I took him back inside and told them, I wanted to take him home. They told me it takes about four days... I said "no, you don't understand, I want to take him home now", they said, we have to call your landlord and do a background check and have him.... I said "In four days, I will change my mind, I want him now.

After sitting down with the president of the shelter for half an hour, I went home with Kyle that night. I signed an agreement to shelter kyle for 30 days. At the end of that time, I would meet with the shelter and our agreement would become and adoption.

He hopped in my Accord with me and we were off, to the store to get dog food and a doggy dish.

I pulled in the parking lot of the grocery store and opened my door, Kyle lurched over me and tried to make a run for it, I grabbed him and pushed him back to the passenger seat. he barked and cried and thrashed, As I was walking away from the car, It looked like two cows were having sex in the back seat the way it was moving.

Everybody was giving me dirty looks, like its my fault that the dog I have owned for ten minutes was a freak.

I came out of the store and opened the door to my car. It was covered from roof to floor with slobber and dog hair.

Kyle had separation anxiety.

He developed it within a half hour of me owning him.

If I left the room, he was behind me before I could walk out the door. If I went upstairs, he was to the top stair before I got there, If I took a shower, I stepped on him when I got out, When I woke up in the morning, his head was on the pillow next to mine.
