Ford has announced that the new Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is coming in 2019.

Ford has released news that the 2019 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is coming in 2019.

We don’t know much else except that it will be Supercharged 700hp V8 Engine, double what the original 1967 model was.

We also know that it will be focused on the dragstrip and the racetrack, Dodge Demon competitor possibly?

Now we wait for more teasers and for the unveil in 2019

Ford has unveiled the 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt at the Detroit Motor Show

Ford has released at the Detroit Motor Show the 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the famous film Bullitt, which starred Steve McQueen and the now legendary 1968 Ford Mustang.

To help announce the new model Ford asked Steve McQueens grand daughter Molly Mcqueen to be involved, she filmed a couple of short videos with the new car as part of the launch, you can see them below.

The New model features an upgraded 5.0-liter V8 engine that puts out 475 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft. of torque, an 8 mph increase over the current Mustang GT. As well as a famous white cue ball shift knob as a nod to the original car.

Also featured on the car is active valve performance exhaust system with new Black NitroPlate exhaust tips, a new Open Air Induction System and Shelby GT350 intake manifold with 87mm throttle bodies and powertrain control module.

Other standard equipment includes a heated leather steering wheel and a 12-inch all-digital LCD instrument cluster, identical in function to the cluster introduced on 2018 Mustang, but with a unique Bullitt welcome screen that starts in green with an image of the car rather than the pony.

Exterior paint choices are limited to Shadow Black and the classic Dark Highland Green – as worn in the movie. Other features that pay tribute to the car McQueen drove are subtle chrome accents around the grille and front windows, classic torque thrust 19-inch aluminum wheels, red painted Brembo brakes, and a unique black front grille. Inside and out, the vehicle uses minimal badging; only the circular faux gas cap Bullitt logo on the rear center is visible on the exterior.

DETROIT, Jan. 14, 2018 – Celebrating the 50th anniversary of iconic movie “Bullitt” and its fan-favorite San Francisco car chase, Ford introduces the new cool and powerful 2019 Mustang Bullitt.

Third-generation member of the McQueen family, Molly, starred in a special movie of her own introducing the new third-generation Bullitt at the North American International Auto Show. In the film, Molly races a new Mustang Bullitt through a parking structure battling a Dodge Charger for the final free space.

Helping it win that particular spot was the Bullitt’s upgraded 5.0-liter V8 engine that will deliver at least 475 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft. of torque, pushing the new Bullitt to a top speed of 163 mph – an 8 mph increase versus the latest Mustang GT.
Special Edition

As a special-edition model due out this summer – the all-new Mustang Bullitt is equipped with a manual transmission, and the gear shifter features a white cue ball shift knob as a nod to the original. The vehicle packages all Mustang GT Premium and Performance Package content into a vehicle that maintains the original Bullitt’s understated persona.

An active valve performance exhaust system is standard with new Black NitroPlate exhaust tips, and retuned to give the car a signature burble, as well as new Open Air Induction System and Shelby GT350 intake manifold with 87mm throttle bodies and powertrain control module calibration for optimal performance.

Other standard equipment includes a heated leather steering wheel and a 12-inch all-digital LCD instrument cluster, identical in function to the cluster introduced on 2018 Mustang, but with a unique Bullitt welcome screen that starts in green with an image of the car rather than the pony.

“This new Bullitt is, as Steve McQueen was, effortlessly cool,” said Darrell Behmer, Mustang chief designer. “As a designer, it’s my favorite Mustang – devoid of stripes, spoilers and badges. It doesn’t need to scream about anything – it’s just cool.”

The leather-trimmed interior features unique green accent stitching on the dashboard, door panels, center console and seats.

Aside from the two exterior paint choices, Mustang Bullitt buyers are limited to three factory-installed options:

“When making a Bullitt, there are certain things it absolutely must have,” said Carl Widmann, Mustang chief engineer. “It has to have the right attitude, it has to be unique in some way from a Mustang GT, and more than anything, it has to be bad ass.”

That reputation was born after a Mustang GT fastback played a prominent role in the 1968 movie, and most notably in a chase scene that set new standards in filmmaking. The film’s nearly 10-minute-long sequence followed McQueen chasing down two hitmen in his Mustang through the streets of San Francisco.
The Original

Two identical 1968 Mustang GT fastbacks were used in the filming of the classic Warner Bros. movie “Bullitt” that debuted in theaters on Oct. 17, 1968. After filming, the cars went their separate ways: the hero vehicle driven by McQueen in the movie was sold by Warner Bros. to a private buyer, and the other – used in many of the jumps during the famous chase scene – was sent to a salvage yard. That jumper vehicle resurfaced in Baja, California, in early 2017, but the other was lost to history. Until now.

Sean Kiernan, owner of the hero vehicle, inherited the car in 2014 from his late father, Robert, who had purchased the vehicle in 1974. To fulfill his family’s lifelong dream, Sean contacted Ford and the two parties worked together to reveal his movie star car alongside the all-new 2019 Mustang Bullitt at the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

“You know, it was never our intention to keep this car a secret from everybody,” Sean said. “It just kind of happened with life. I’m just completely buzzing to join with Ford and the new Bullitt

So here we are at the final image on my Top 10 favorites of 2017 and we are back at Phillip Island in November.

This is from the Zagame Automotive Ferrari Owners track day.

Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t the best, but that was not going to stop me capturing the event.

So as part of my coverage of the event, during the lunchtime break, we head out on track with three customer cars to capture a group shot of them in action.

The three cars chosen were a Ferrari 550 Maranello, Ferrari F12 and a Ferrari 458 Speciale.

Similar to the way I shot the Mustang Trio image, we have a lead car out in front of the group with me and the video team strapped into harness’s photographing out of the rear hatch. The team from Race Solutions Motorsport were again on hand to again make sure we were all secure in our harnesses. In charge of driving the cars on the track were three of the instructors from the Motokinetic team, who were running the day.

Once out on track, I get the instructors to move between different formations with the three cars.

This one with the 550 in front was one of my favorites, the rain and spray had eased enough to not interfere with the shot. Mind you it was a challenge to keep the camera lenses clean.

It was shot on my Nikon D4s, using my Nikon AFS 24-70mm lens. Exposure 1/250 sec at F11.

For Image number 8, I look back to August and a photo shoot with a Ford Mustang GT.

This shoot was for the owner of the car at an industrial estate in the southeastern suburbs of Melbourne.

The light was soft, due to being late in the day and it being overcast.

The image was shot on my Nikon D4s, with my Nikkor AFS 70-200mm, Exposure was 1/13 shutter speed, F10 aperture.

A circular polarizer was used to help reduce reflections, and then multiple frames with different polarisations were then combined in photoshop to create the final image.

For Image Number 8 we look back to October and the Press drive of the Ferrari GT4C Lusso.

This event was a press drive for automotive journalists to experience time behind the wheel of the Ferrari GT4C Lusso on a drive route between Melbourne and Mitchelton Wines.

We set off in convoy from Melbourne first thing in the morning, I knew the first part of the route was on the Hume Highway so I had planned to get some moving action shots of the two GT4C Lusso’s for the press as part of a press kit from the event.

So as the highway opens up and the background is pure trees, we pulled into the lane alongside the cars and I started shooting. The above shot was one of my favorites.

It was shot on my Nikon D810, with Nikkor AFS 24-70mm lens. Exposure 1/100 shutter speed at F11 aperture.

For number 7 in my Top 10 Favourite photos from 2017, we head back to January and the Mustang Motorsport Track Day.

The Mustang Motorsport Track Day was held in late January for customers to be able to bring their Ford Mustang’s along to Sandown Racetrack to get some quality track time with their cars as well as receive instruction from the Evolve Driver Training instructors.

During the lunch break, I arrange to shoot some promotional images for the Mustang Motorsport team. I arranged to get three different owners cars out on track to get some tracking images of the cars in formation.

The safety team on the day, Race Solutions Motorsports, arranged a harness for me so that I could be strapped into out lead car and I could shoot from the boot of the car safely.

We headed out in convoy and had the instructors get into group formation once we exited pitlane.

The above shot was taken on the back straight of Sandown as the light was best and the background was clear with blue sky.

It was shot on my Nikon D4s, Nikkor AFS 24-70mm lens at 1/60 sec at F13 aperture.

Number 6 on my top 10 favorite images of 2017 is from the Lamborghini Giro Event held in October.

Back in October, I was asked to work with the Ultimate Driving Tours team on the Lamborghini Oceanic Giro Event. A two-day driving event around Victoria for Lamborghini owners from the Oceanic region.

My favorite image comes from Day 2, on the leg from the Daylesford back to Melbourne via the Great Ocean Road. This image was taken as the cars drove through the country roads before hitting the coast. It was taken from our chase car as the cars traveled in packs, we had jumped through the groups to get in front to get these kinds of shots.

It was taken on my Nikon D810, using my Nikkor AFS 70-200mm lens. Exposure 1/640 shutter, F5.6 aperture.

For the 5th image in my Top 10 favorites of 2017, we head back to July and the launch of the Tickford Bathurst 77 Special. 

In July the team from Tickford called and asked me to help create some launch images for their new limited edition Ford Mustang project.

To help celebrate the 40th anniversary of the famous Bathurst XC Falcon 1-2 finish at Bathurst in 1977, Tickford in conjunction with Allan Moffat had created a special edition Ford Mustang that pays tribute to that famous win.

On the day of the shoot, we set up a series of photos with Allan and the launch edition of the vehicle.

It was great working with such an Australian Motorsport Legend.

I again used my Nikon Speedlights to light the car and Allan, with two set up to the left of the camera and the other two to the right of the camera, triggered by CLS system by the Master unit on camera.

It was shot on my Nikon D810, I like the higher resolution for PR/Publication shots, using my Nikkor AFS 24-70mm lens. Exposure 1/100 sec at F5 aperture.

For the next image on my Top 10 favorites from 2017 we head back to April and the Porsche 911 GT3 RS of Matt Close.

Leading into Targa Tasmania this year, 2016 Targa Tasmania winner Matt Close had chosen to debut a new car, a Porsche 911 GT3 RS, so to help the event promote the Close’s new car we arranged a photo shoot.

I had a spot in mind, over in the Williamstown area, so we met up just before sunset.

With golden hour fast approaching we got the car into position and I set up my Nikon Speedlights with two on each side of the car and one on camera as a master.

Matt had wrapped the car in a white wrap so it helped to remove any reflection.

The light that night was perfect as it set, it left a great color through the sky.

It was shot on Nikon D4s, Nikkor AFS 70-200mm. Exposure was 1/20 shutter speed at F8 aperture with the Nikon SB800 Speedlights set in TTL mode using CLS.

For next image in my Top 10 favorite images from 2017, we head to Phillip Island back in March.

It was the Asia Pacific launch of the Lamborghini Aventador S, part of my brief for the event was to compile a press kit of images for the journalists in attendance.

This shot was taken during one of the breaks in the day’s schedule, Luke O’Neil, one of the event instructors, and I headed out on track to capture some images of the car.

The beauty of photographing at Phillip Island is that the ocean makes an amazing backdrop, so this was part of my plan when we headed out on the track.

I wanted an iconic shot which showed the ocean in the background. So first stop was between turn 2 and 3, which has a great view looking back over the track and out to the water and cliffs behind.

Time was limited, so once on location, I jumped out and had Luke move the car into the best position and from there I began shooting, this was my favorite from the set.

It was shot on my Nikon D4s using Nikkor AFS 70-200mm lens, at 150mm, Shutter 1/320 at F7.1.
