<br />
My boys and I (minus little giant #2) headed to the Philatelic Museum which celebrated May 4th with special activities. My inner geek jumped for joy to see the wall of 800+ action figures,<br />

With a donation of S$10, we were able to choose our props (I was Princess Leia of course) [note to self – great DIY Leia costume], smile and pose, and voila – a postcard ready to be sent.
We were able to get a Special Event Date Stamp just for today. How cool is that!<br />

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
The mummies (6 in all) have arrived in Singapore! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
We have visited practically all of the special exhibits mounted at the ArtScience Museum in Marina Bay Sands. They have been very well curated and arranged to cater to all age groups. With that in mind, we were particularly excited to see what the collaboration with the British Museum would generate. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
When we learned that British Museum curator Dr. John Taylor would be there during the opening weekend of the exhibit, we made sure that we were at the museum as soon as it opened. That was a good decision as we were privileged to attend one of his highly popular guided tours.</div>
<br />
Tip: When going to the museum, it is best to go on a guided tour as this will bring out the highlights of the exhibit and reveal little facts not written down in the display notes.<br />
<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The one hour flew by as Dr. Taylor revealed fascinating facts about the lives and belief of ancient Egyptians, explaining the religious beliefs that underpinned ancient Egyptian funerary practices. </div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The exhibit may be relatively small in size compared to that located in the British Museum but it was very well curated. According to The ArtScience Museum's executive director Nick Dixon, the exhibition "reflects the intersection between art and science". The show pairs "some of the most stunning pieces" of ancient Egyptian artefacts with "the latest in modern technology and medical science" to shed light on the rituals and processes of mummification. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Before exploring the exhibit, be sure to watch the 30-minute 3D film about which tells the story of Egyptian temple priest Nesperennub, including the “virtual unwrapping” of his 3,000-year old mummy. Do note that it may be too scary for children below the age of 6.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
What I really appreciate about the ArtScience Museum is that they try to cater to all age groups. Parents and guardians of young children will appreciate the Activity Quests which have been specially-designed through age-appropriate Quest Bags (grouped from ages 3-16) which contain enjoyable hands-on activities. Directly related to the artefacts on display, these include jig-saws and games, including magnifying glasses for the intrepid young Egyptologists to help them solve the various challenges.</div>

</div><div style="text-align: justify;">This question struck a chord with me because <a href="http://www.joellechronicles.com/2006/09/day-my-world-paused.html">I was there</a>. To say that it changed my priorities in life is an understatement.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">To put things in perspective, my trip to the US in 2001 was my first trip on my own and my last one as a Singleton. It was my first time away from the distractions brought about by family, friends and work. Much of my alone time in SF was spent on a bench by the water near my uncle’s house, watching the ducks paddle by and contemplating the meaning of my life. Heck, 30 was a few years away and I was nowhere close to meeting my 5 year goals. My end conclusion? I needed to do more. Be more. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Then I went to New York on 9/10. <a href="http://www.joellechronicles.com/2006/09/day-my-world-paused.html">On 9/11 my world crashed and underwent a major reboot.</a></div><iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="345" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/sSeyDZZ9y9g" width="560"></iframe><br />
<br />
<div></div><div style="text-align: justify;">I still remember the sleepless nights I spent glued to the tv, listening to the fearmongers and wondering if my flight back to Manila would be safe. The escape from near death scrambled my priorities. Or rather, corrected them. Here a few of the things which I learned from those few days.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">1. The years are short. If you haven’t read Gretchen’s Rubin’s book “The Happiness Project”, do grab a copy. I have found that the happiest moments in my life were the small, unplanned incidents – a stroll down the beach with my family, an hilarious and futile attempt to fly a kite... the list goes on.<br />
<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="345" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/8jgVKw9rXRg" width="420"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: justify;">2. Success is a choice. </div><div style="text-align: justify;">3. Those who can, DO... Those who can’t, Criticize. Be like Guliani. I’d rather be the one who tried, failed spectacularly and got back on my feet instead of the one gabbing away in the shadows of his or her discontent.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">4. Your values form an intrinsic part of who you are. It will be extremely hard to reset your moral compass once you compromise your core principles. As a parent, it is our responsibility to ensure that our children understand and internalize this.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">5. Make sure that your mind and heart are synchronized.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">6. Don’t bother trying to keep up with the Jones. We are all equal in the face of an earthquake, bagyo or bomb.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">7. Surprise, surprise, I can sometimes be wrong. I'm still learning to be the better person I can be.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">8. Follow Jill Bolte Taylor’s advise to “spend more time running the deep inner peace circuitry of our right hemispheres” </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="345" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/UyyjU8fzEYU" width="560"></iframe><br />
<br />
9. Be self-aware in your relationships. Respect, kindness and happy memories are the highest denomination of currency in our emotional banks. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
10. Be sensitive. Be open to other cultures and practices. Separate fact from bias and teach perspective. Let’s face it, we cannot get rid of bias – we are all biased. But we can teach our children to look at multiple perspectives.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="345" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/o192z82ka-8" width="420"></iframe><br />
<br />
11. Find the time. Live while you're alive.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="345" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Fr5sm8wpjTs" width="420"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><iframe width="420" height="345" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/-eztPInC4s0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe><div class="blogger-post-footer"><script type="text/javascript"><!--

<div style="text-align: justify;">One of the great things about Singapore is the way it constantly re-invents itself while ensuring that the landmarks of the past are still there to remind its citizens of whence they came. Go the Singapore Arts Museum and the Peranakan Museum and you'll see what I mean. Now it's time for the historically significant City Hall and Former Supreme Court Buildings to be transformed into the new National Art Gallery, the largest visual arts venue in Singapore.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/28688192@N00/5065015102/" title="The Future by joelle_ona, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4084/5065015102_90a1cb3dee.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="The Future" /></a><br />
<br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">However, before these buildings close their doors for a 3-year renovation, the general public were given a rare opportunity to wander around, "understand its colourful history, as well as gain special insights on what the future National Art Gallery will look like." Needless to say, we were one of the first ones through the main doors. =)<br />

</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
There was a veritable smorgasboard of activities catering to various audiences -- a craft-themed flea market for bargain hunters, snack fairs, a mobile library, interactive kids art corners, live portrait sessions and much more.<br />

The highlight of our day was the hour-long historic guided tous. Led by our enthusiastic volunteer guide Claude, the little giant and I caught a rare glimpse of The Old Supreme Courts' unusual spaces & architectural details like ....<br />
<br />
<b>Holding Cells (note the absence of toilet bowls) </b>I was surprised that there was little differentiation between those held for petty and heinous crimes<br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/28688192@N00/5065009742/" title="PA090545 by joelle_ona, on Flickr"><img alt="PA090545" height="500" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4148/5065009742_2ee5fb60a0.jpg" width="377" /></a></div><br />
<b>Tiles made of rubber </b>(The Supreme Court was constructed during the Great Depression so the builders innovated with whatever resources were readily on hand)<br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/28688192@N00/5064396869/" title="PA090559 by joelle_ona, on Flickr"><img alt="PA090559" height="377" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4152/5064396869_046f073b8f.jpg" width="500" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<br />
<b>Trapdoors lead directly from the holding cells to the court docks</b><br />
<br />

The Old Supreme Court is the last example of Classical Architecture built on the former British colony.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/28688192@N00/5064400455/" title="PA090572 by joelle_ona, on Flickr"><img alt="PA090572" height="375" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4147/5064400455_12f12fee9c.jpg" width="500" /></a></div><br />
It is modeled after London's Old Bailey courthouse, down to the depiction of Lady Justice without a blindfold. (As an aside, according to Wikipedia, Lady Justice was originally not blindfolded, and her “maidenly form” is supposed to guarantee her impartiality which renders the blindfold redundant) <br />

Today was a eye-opening experience. I strongly suggest that you head on down to City Hall tomorrow. <b> The tours are currently fully booked but if you come early enough (doors open at 11am) and register your name on the Waiting List, you stand an excellent chance of getting a slot. Note: Special tours for children (No parents allowed) are also available.</b><br />
<br />
If you aren't in town this weekend, don't despair. You can go on a self-guided tour of both City Hall and former Supreme Court buildings on Oct 16-17. Just<strong><span style="font-size: 14px;"> <a href="http://www.nationalartgallery.sg/form/openhouse/Self-guided-tours.pdf">download the guide here</a>. </span></strong><br />

Spread the word. It is now our turn to shine. Base Entertainment Asia and Singapore Repertory Theatre are holding auditions for Filipino young talents, ages 8 to 13, to fill the roles of young cubs Simba and Nala in the Southeast Asian premiere of Disney Theatrical Group's "The Lion King". <br />
<br />
<strong><span style="color: red;">Auditions will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2010 from 12 noon to 6 p.m., and Sunday, September 19, 2010 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Arts in Taguig City, FVR Park, 26th Street, Bonifacio Arts Center, The Fort, Taguig City (www.artsintaguigcity.com). Singing and dancing experience is required.</span></strong><br />
<br />
Six successful applicants for the roles of young cubs Simba and Nala will star alongside a cast of 49 triple threats who hail from eight countries and five continents, including "The Lion King" alums from the West End and Paris productions. Base Entertainment Asia brings the phenomenal musical to the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore beginning March 2011. The people behind the Company are very much committed to duplicate the original Broadway elements of the show - its hummable pop songs, gorgeous sets, and intricate Bunraku puppet-inspired costumes. The Singapore production will likewise cast South African talents to preserve the show's spirit of authenticity. <br />
<br />
<strong><span style="color: red;">Young auditionees from the Philippines must register for the auditions. Please email resume with a headshot at LionKingAuditions@srt.com.sg.</span></strong> <br />

<div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">This is the first ever Youth Olympics to be staged and Singapore is pulling all the stops to ensure that it runs smoothly. In the words of PM Lee Hsien Loong, "I hope all Singaporeans will work together to put up a good show, and make the games memorable for all our visitors." If the just concluded NDP spectacular is a good indicator, then we can expect to see plenty of fireworks, both literally and figuratively. </span></div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;"><br />

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;"><div style="text-align: justify;">Thus was my bubble burst. I have to admit that Miles was right - I was a tad too enthusiastic in booking our tickets. There I was at the Sistic counter in Wisma Atria, ticking off events that we wanted to watch. Much to my pleasant surprise, there were <a href="http://tickets.singapore2010.sg/YOGBookingApp/pictogram.do">still seats left in quite a few events</a>. At S$10-$30, these tickets are a great bargain! I got so carried away, I almost booked tickets to events scheduled to take place simultaneously in different venues. Ok so I'm no longer donning my best hat and heading off to Turf Club but I think cheering for the next Maid Marian / Robin Hood should be just as fun. We'll also be showing our support for the athletes participating in Football, Fencing and Tennis. Go Jason Patrombon!</div></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;"> <br />

For those who will be in Singapore between Aug 14-26, here's another bonus: There are still plenty of tickets left to the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. Book them online by <a href="http://www.singapore2010.sg/public/sg2010/en/en_tickets/en_opening_and_closing_ceremonies.html">clicking on this link</a>. </span><br />

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">On a slightly different note, I'm so so impressed with the YOG-DBS-Visa tie-up. Each Singapore 2010 Competition ticket comes with a DBS Visa Prepaid Companion Card which entitles the ticket holder to complimentary public transport (inclusive of four MRT/LRT rides and unlimited bus rides on the day of the event). After the event, you can go to your nearest DBS branch to have the Visa purse activated. Not bad for S$10-30, right?</span></div><br />

The Great Singapore Sale is a fixture in the calendars not just of locals but foreigners who love a bargain. I have numerous friends who are flying in for some retail therapy. <br />
<br />
If you are going to be here between now to July 25, here are some tips from <a href="http://www.yoursingapore.com/">www.yoursingapore.com</a><br />
<br />
1. Get the GSS Tourist Privilege Card to enjoy exclusive discounts – simply present the Tourist Privilege Card with your foreign passport to start enjoying special privileges. Download the card from the GSS Official Website at <a href="http://www.greatsingaporesale.com.sg/">www.greatsingaporesale.com.sg</a>. You can also pick up the card from the Singapore Visitors Centres.<br />
<br />
2. Spend above S$300 in retail purchases in same-day combined receipts (maximum of 3) during the Great Singapore Sale and redeem a GSS limited edition bag at the Singapore Visitors Centre @ Orchard. Grab yours today, while stocks last.<br />
<br />
3. Tourists can redeem free taxi vouchers worth S$30 or S$15 when they spend S$300 or more using a MasterCard® card or cash respectively from 28 May to 25 July 2010, while stocks last.<br />
<br />
4. Shop with your MasterCard card at participating outlets and you could receive shopping vouchers, dining privileges and exciting prizes. Visit mastercard.com/sea for more information.<br />
<br />
5. Shop till you drop with extended shopping hours till 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays at participating malls.<br />
<br />
6. If you’ve forgotten to get gifts for friends and relatives, do your last minute shopping at retail outlets at the Singapore Changi Airport. With a wide variety of shops from luxury brands, electronics and Singapore-inspired or local products, there’s sure to be something for everyone.<br />
<br />
7. It’s not just all about shopping – also take the time to enjoy other events happening such as Singapore Arts Festival, Singapore Food Festival, Singapore River Festival and Singapore Garden Festival and many other entertainment options during this period.<br />
<br />
8. Take a piece of Singapore home and indulge in unique creations from renowned local designers such as Ashley Isham, Woods & Woods, alldressedup and more. Discover great shopping and gift ideas from GET SINGAPORE – a collective brand that represents over 30 eclectic, stylish Singapore retail brands and merchandise such as RISIS, Kwanpen, air® etc. Enjoy GSS specials at participating stores, and check in-store for details. <br />
9. Be the first to visit the two Integrated Resorts, Marina Bay Sands® and Resorts World™ Sentosa that have just opened their doors with exciting and exclusive choices of lifestyle options. Expect exciting shopping experiences at Singapore’s two new Integrated Resorts. If you are going to the casino, BRING YOUR PASSPORT.<br />
<br />

Safe and ... well... boring. Hubby, the Little Giant & I have decided to be more adventurous and tackle the restaurant row one establishment at a time. Tonight marked the start of our food trip.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="color: red;">Week 1: Amici Italian Restaurant</span></strong></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">I didn't realize that this little hole in the wall is quite popular. It was a good thing that I had made reservations because by 7:30 the place was jampacked.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><em>Tip 1: Specify where you want to be seated. </em></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">One's cozy ambiance can be another's claustrophobic nightmare. It does get fairly dark inside the restaurant, particularly in the section next to the semi-open kitchen and stone oven. Personally, I don't want to leave a restaurant smelling of its signature dishes.</div></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;"><br />

</div></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><em>Tip #2: Inquire about the ongoing promos</em></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">Amici seems to have a number of promos with various banks, something which the servers don't disclose upfront. Since we entered through the back entrance, we were able to see the following signs:</div></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;"><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh05djVnig0UwBeMBx68GKMG59zbZqtzRvjfTQC9cy77iJdBeutwgcpqAx9E8MBA2OwfpoocCat-2JwnULjRDRmzh6RrgmFifG1ONvotOMm4CwdPWQvXW30XyPqHeN8Mxhzw6PHRw/s1600/033.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; cssfloat: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" gu="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh05djVnig0UwBeMBx68GKMG59zbZqtzRvjfTQC9cy77iJdBeutwgcpqAx9E8MBA2OwfpoocCat-2JwnULjRDRmzh6RrgmFifG1ONvotOMm4CwdPWQvXW30XyPqHeN8Mxhzw6PHRw/s320/033.JPG" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_FE2VERZHwN6reeJgmK3DOVIH36fzo4xu1-2dJg78rteUF3AKoGCG13XXplXRqid_eaC5hgKSGXiAcnJiacBEjiGSiWehoTNR_i8j1-P_lmMsQnDlsu0ktkZGZd2j4b06obn8lg/s1600/032.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" gu="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_FE2VERZHwN6reeJgmK3DOVIH36fzo4xu1-2dJg78rteUF3AKoGCG13XXplXRqid_eaC5hgKSGXiAcnJiacBEjiGSiWehoTNR_i8j1-P_lmMsQnDlsu0ktkZGZd2j4b06obn8lg/s320/032.JPG" /></a></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div></div><div style="text-align: justify;">These signs greatly helped our decision making process. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
<strong>Choices.. choices. What do we order?</strong></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Amici serves relatively simple yet extremely satisfying fare. All of the items looked scrumptious but we decided to ere on the side of caution and made our choices from the award winning dishes. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Antipasti:</strong></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">1. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">2. Frito Ai Calamari (S$11.90)</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Deep fried squid served with greens</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQEMhfCK5oovkxJY-ZAPECjDV9f5WeSUgDJ44yZIzFckSHnvmgjTDSGakcEdZw2i6S1-QUmdt2D7gDa_STfjByaPtSSOUZ9ZruLeV1Fq8EIQ-yftEXIb6xxbqIK4918XqMohW5_Q/s1600/021.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" gu="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQEMhfCK5oovkxJY-ZAPECjDV9f5WeSUgDJ44yZIzFckSHnvmgjTDSGakcEdZw2i6S1-QUmdt2D7gDa_STfjByaPtSSOUZ9ZruLeV1Fq8EIQ-yftEXIb6xxbqIK4918XqMohW5_Q/s320/021.JPG" /></a></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">Ok so you can't really go wrong with calamari but Amici's version was exceptional. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Pizza:</strong></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Since we had a hungry boy with us with pedestrian tastes, we decided to play it safe and ordered the Pizza 4 Formaggi (S$23.9)</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Fresh cut wild mushrooms, Parma ham, pepperoni, seafood, tomatoes and mozzarella cheese.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1dFQQ6W6J4vMOkgmDzHHFYazR5LlWa0xiiUtkbXCytAoS1pnL9QSSd1-a3Pqv9-LkwQ3qKAjlD3vq7sMlVVx-L35a8CnEiWGcfyguYAbAq49p5Jmx0hwBkW3E70VmwSSzTjrk1A/s1600/022.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" gu="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1dFQQ6W6J4vMOkgmDzHHFYazR5LlWa0xiiUtkbXCytAoS1pnL9QSSd1-a3Pqv9-LkwQ3qKAjlD3vq7sMlVVx-L35a8CnEiWGcfyguYAbAq49p5Jmx0hwBkW3E70VmwSSzTjrk1A/s320/022.JPG" /></a></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">The thincrust pizza was good but not anything to write home about. The next time, I'll probably just go with my first choice, the Pizza Ai Prosciutto.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: justify;">I admit that I'm nitpicking but a few things would have made our dining experience perfect:</div><div style="text-align: justify;">* Bread. For the prices that Amici charges, you would think that there would be some complimentary bread rolls.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">* Cutlery. Try twirling and flicking your food with heavy stylized cutlery. It just doesn't work.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

A Forest Adventure. <br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">It was a 2 hour (depending on how slow you are) trek high up in the tree tops. At the end of it, I felt like a well-wrung rag, ready to hit the showers and then head for the nearest Arnold's Chicken.</div><br />

My first thought? It's a great album but sounds quite generic. Charice sounds like..... Jordin Sparks. My favorite so far is Reset and its not just because of the Tagalog lyrics inserted. Magsimula tayo.. ibalik ang nakaraan. =)<br />

This realist melodrama chronicles three days in the life of bet collector Amelita who runs the illegal gambling game of jueteng. Jueteng is so popular that even politicians and the police are believed to have a share in its illicit revenues. Shot on HD video, the camera captures the desperate living conditions of the film’s characters. Lead actress Gina Pareno won multiple awards for her spirited performance.<br />
