This explanation lack quite a few details on what fika really means.

Why not translate the Swedish word Fika to english and give it the proper definition it deserves. The english version of the word could become Feeka. Feeka would be prounounced in the same way as the Swedes prounounce Fika.

Wikipedia describes the term as Fika (coffee break) which is wrong since Fika is something else and more than a coffe break.

coffe or some other [soft] drink together with a snack.

The snack is usually a bisquit, the traditional swedish cinnamon bun or an open sandwich. The drink could be coffe, tea, lemonade or juice for the kids.

It could even be soft drinks like coke even if´s seldomly drunk. [1]

Everyone in sweden takes a Feeka, even the kids
Parents in sweden say to their kids "come and have a feeka!" wich in that case usually is "saft", a sweet non sparkling soft drink, together with something like a sandwich or bisquits to eat.

As a little kid the school took us out to do cross country skiing in the snowy forest. After some hours we had feeka in the forest. I always had hot chocholate and cheese sandwiches. Kids do Feeka, they don´t drink coffe and do not take coffe breaks.

If you´re just hanging out doing nothing, you take a feeka, not a coffe break
For grown ups a feeka could be coffe with a friend in a nice café. That is a feeka. Not a coffe break. Because you can´t have a break if you´re not doing anything particular. In this case it´s just to meet with a friend a sunday afternoon for a feeka. Depending on the friend it can take hours. Teenagers and students ar notoriously know for doing a lot of feeka and to little studying.

Legal right to Feeka at work
At swedish companies workers can have scheduled Feeka breaks. Usually 10 minutes twice a day. It´s comon to stretch that out a few minutes because of the social chatting that takes place. Some companies have feeka rooms where you can go for a feeka, drink coffe or tea and chat with collegues and then flip through a magazine. Thats a proper feeka break.

Warning! Don´t feeka at night unless you´re prepared to get naked
Feeka after a night out could mean something else. Look out for phrases like "What about going for a feeka" or "What about going home and have a cup of tea?" In most cases the answer is "Yes, that´s a good idea" because it means go home, forget about the feeka and just get naked have swedish sex.

Reverse warning: Sometimes something goes wrong on the way home and the "feeka" you´re expecting becomes just an ordianary fully clothed feeka. Maybe it was something you said, maybe it was a different light outside the pub, you can only hope for a follow up feeka a couple of days later. It´s like a date.

Feeka at the first date
A feeka is a perfectly good thing to do at a date. Extremely good thing do to because it´s simple it´s not a whole dinner, it´s just a relaxed meeting with someone you like to chat with for a while. It´s not a break from something.

It´s better to ask fo a feeka than for a coffe. What if she/he doesn´t drink coffe. No, I don´t drink coffe is nothing you want to hear in that situation.

Feeka in the evening
Let´s assume the dating worked well and you´re luckily married for years. What to do in the evening? A feeka with something light to eat is perfect. Very light, because after years of marriage you can´t get into the habit of eating bisquits every day.

Pensioneers and feeka
Pensioneers like your grandparents love to feeka and they can take it to the extremes and do the old school "seven types of biscuits". Never eat to much before visiting swedish grandparents.

Yes we all know that a coffe break means coffe or tea possibly with a snack. Still it´s better to use the word feeka if you mean coffe, tea or some other soft drink together with a snack.

Vi vet att samhället är ojämställt och att kvinnor drabbas.

Alla frågor feminismen tar upp är viktiga att göra något åt. Tjejer ska inte behöva växa upp med sämre möjligheter än killar.
Så långt är feminism bra!
En del av oss vet att ojämställdheten drabbar män också, inte bara de mesiga männen utan även ”riktiga” män.

Djuren ska betala utmanar feminism. Boken handlar om hur vi tillsammans kan skapa en bättre jämställdhetsrörelse.

Det ligger mycket i hur man formulerar sig. Ordet ”Feminism” antyder att det handlar om något feminint och som vi vet är allt feminint ”förbjudet” område för hälften av befolkningen. Feminism är ”Av kvinnor, för kvinnor”, men jämställdhet handlar egentligen om att förbättra situtaionen för både kvinnor och män.

En bra jämställdhetsrörelse behöver ett neutralt ord som similism. Världen behöver en bättre jämställdhetsrörelse.
