While I was impressed with the speed in which they shipped the replacement system, I was very disappointed that they didn't ship it overnight.  After-all, I went out to their store at midnight to pick it up, the least that they could have done was shipped it overnight.  Oh well, just one more disappointment in this whole affair. As soon as it arrived, I hooked it up and I'm happy

I received an update from Microsoft today that the replacement XBox one has shipped.  Considering that you can't get one in stores at this time, I'm impressed that they kept some in reserve in order to be able to send replacements to the day 1 customers who had problems. I don't have any information as to when I should expect to receive it as Fedex has not updated their tracking information

I went to the midnight launch of the Xbox one and picked up my shiny new Xbox one console last night. After getting it home and installing it, you could imagine the disappointment that ensued when I found out that the game discs that I purchased would not play.  In addition, blu-ray discs would not play (even after downloading the blu-ray player from the Microsoft store, but standard

Hi everyone. I don't usually like to get involved in politics, but I can't just let this slide. Several days ago, Teddy Borawski, the chief oil and gas geologist for the Pennsylvania's Department of Conservation and Natural Resources said that a Nazi propagandist “Joseph Goebbels would have been proud” of my cousin, Josh Fox, for his academy award nominated film GASLAND. The comment Mr.

I've been hankering for an Apple iMac for a while now, but could not bring myself to buy one because of the price discrepancy between the Intel powered iMac and a PC with similar hardware specifications. However, this thanksgiving, that all changed...My Daughter is in her senior year of High School and she applied to several colleges, of which her favorite was Dowling College. She wants to get

In retrospect, I was one of the fools who paid full price for Windows Vista Ultimate back when the OS was first released with the promise of “extras” that would be coming later. While there were some extras (like moving wall paper [useless] and drive encryption that would not work for my purposes), I feel as if I was cheated by Microsoft. Now there is one additional “extra” that Microsoft is

Here are the final, landscaped photos of the house. It felt like we would never get finished, but we are finally finished!

Over the months, I've been getting a lot of compliments on the project from my neighbors and friends and I really believe in giving credit where credit is due. Ken Dolan and the crew from Let Three D Build L.L.C. is the company I used for the GC of this project. They are, by far, the best contractors that I have ever done business with and I would recommend them for any home improvements or

We've been really busy getting ready to move in. Here are the rest of the construction photographs. Once all is in place in the house, I'll take some interior pictures with the furniture and post them.

Well, it would seem that Microsoft does not want anyone to embed the photos that they upload to their windows live account as a slide show. I've tried many different ways to do it along with using their new silverlight slide show, but to no avail. As a result, they are forcing me to move away from their solution to something else. I've chosen to move to Picasa, a google property, in order to be

Some time over night last night, my sub-conscious figured out how to get the slide shows for the house photos working. I tested a little prototype of the solution this morning and it does, indeed, work. I will be re-posting the blog tonight with the slide shows for each of the days.

Microsoft has changed their photo site and I haven't been able to figure out how to embed a slide show into a web page hosted on a different server. As soon as I do, i will replace the links with the slide shows. In the mean time, I apologize for the extra click that you must endure.
