Their story from Grace Ormonde Wedding Style:

“It’s actually odd that Jindy and I did not meet earlier in our lives because Jindy and my sister-in-law’s (Maya) sister (Keila) have been very close friends since they were 5 years old. Keila and I knew each other because Maya dated my brother (Chris) for many years before they married in the summer of 2008. Somehow Keila managed to keep her knockout friend out of my sights for all the time that I had known her! Jindy and I finally met each other in April 2009.  Keila happened to get engaged the night before I met Jindy, and love was in the air. Playing cupid, Keila (in cahoots with her father, Eddie) decided to invite both Jindy and me to an impromptu engagement party. Somehow Keila knew before Jindy and I ever met that we would be a perfect match for each other! As soon as I laid eyes on Jindy, I could see she was beautiful but it wasn’t until we started talking that I soon realized that she was even more beautiful on the inside than on the outside.

We went on our first date before she left for Vegas and we connected instantly. Jindy was off to Europe with her friends within the first month of our first date. We stayed in contact while she was away, and I got to learn of her love for the world and curiosity beyond her immediate surroundings. We share that in common.  Absence truly does make the heart grow fonder because by the time she returned from her trip, we were in a relationship! It was December 2010.  I had the week between Christmas and New Year’s off from work. Jindy’s car happened to break down that week so I was taking her to and from her office. On Wednesday, December 29th, I called my romance-deprived girlfriend in the middle of the afternoon and told her that we would be having a “date night” that evening. And when I picked her up after a long day’s work, I had a long-stemmed red rose in hand. We drove to The Huntley Hotel in Santa Monica and had dinner at The Penthouse restaurant with a view of the Santa Monica coastline. We had been there together on a date earlier in our relationship so I thought it would be a special start to our evening. When the waiter asked us if we wanted dessert after our main course, he was decisively rebuffed as I informed Jindy and him that we already had dessert waiting for us at home. Jindy has a huge sweet tooth for baked goods.  She did not suspect a thing as she looked forward to a surprise dessert, and she even suggested that we could do a movie night at home since Netflix just sent us “Up”. We drove home and when she opened the front door, she was greeted by a transformed den filled with a hundred red roses in vases of different sizes. She had not yet noticed the “Will You Marry Me” cupcakes (each cupcake had one of the words frosted on it), the two flutes of champagne, and red ring box sitting next to them. I told her that I had a question to ask her. I sat Jindy down next to the display, got down on my knees and asked her to marry me as I pointed to the cupcakes. She was ecstatic and immediately said, “yes of course” with the biggest smile! Then she asked if she could eat one of the cupcakes right away – even before putting on her ring!  She ended up eating two of them that night with a glass of milk – classic Jindy!
 
I (Jindy) grew up in southern California; we met here and fell in love here, so we really wanted to get married close by. October is so beautiful in southern California and we loved the idea of an outdoor fall wedding before sunset. When we first met with Jeannie we emphasized that although location was important to us, we also wanted to focus on the food and service so we could spoil our family and friends. Creating a private and intimate celebration was important to us, too, and could be challenge for a wedding of our size.  Jeannie suggested Pelican Hill and it was the perfect fit!  Breathtaking views from the ceremony site, intimate location, amazing gourmet food and service – all in one place! It was a dream location for us our family and friends enjoyed the entire weekend of our “mini-destination” wedding, and we couldn’t be happier with our choice!
 
We had an amazing adventure in New Zealand, and then traveled to Fiji for some rest and relaxation at the gorgeous Likuliku Lagoon Resort.”
