With a new year comes fresh starts, and for 2011 my plan is to upgrade JohnNemec.com to Drupal 7 from Wordpress. From what I’ve read, it will not be an easy task since, again from what I’ve read, there is not direct way to convert. So the site will stay on Wordpress as I build in the background, but still viewable to all. Every time I make an update or do anything at all, I’ll log it and let you know what I’ve done and the issues I’ve come across.

Right To Vote Denied

Election day is one of the most important days for my wife and I. We make an effort to go together, not because we love discussing politics, but we like to cancel each other’s vote. You see, she votes one way (the wrong way) and I vote correctly, and it’s been a great system. We can safely cancel each other’s vote and know the world will be safe from each other’s tyranny.

Remember the Hiccup Girl from February 2007? Personally, I don’t. I was busy with my son who was born the same month. I think I remember hearing something about her now that I’m seeing her in the news again, but I never gave her a second thought until now. While cleaning out my inbox I ran across an old email that apparently I didn’t respond to. I think I remember when it came in, many months ago, and thinking it must be spam or a phishing scam, but now looking at it again I’m not so sure. The email was addressed to the Yo Gabba Gabba! show from a grandmother on behalf of her sick grandson Joshua.
