David Koepp to pen Johnny Depp's "The Thin Man"

Things are shaping up for Johhny Depp and his Infinitum Nihil production company's film "The Thin Man." According to an exclusive at Deadline.com David Koepp will be penning "The Thin Man" script.

Depp is set to play Nick Charles, the role made legendary by William Powell. No news as to who would play Charles' wife Nora, originally played by Myrna Loy.

Rob Marshall has already been announced to to direct this new vision of Dashiell Hammett's classic.

On Stranger Tides now filming in San Pedro and Los Angeles

On Stranger Tides starring Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush and Penelope Cruz began filming in San Pedro and Los Angeles this week.

Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides moved to the Los Angeles area this past week where filming took place in the San Pedro area as well as on the Universal Studios back lot. Filming is believed to continue in the LA area for a couple of weeks and is scheduled to move to the UK. The film is directed by Rob Marshall and is slated to open May 20, 2011.

On Stranger Tides is inspired by the book of the same name penned by Tim Powers.

As a surprise for attendees exiting the Tron Legacy panel, Disney showed a special teaser for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, now shooting in Hawaii.

Johnny Depp appeared as Captain Jack Sparrow in full 3D, sitting on the beach with a bottle of rum and speaking directly to the Comic-Con audience. He told everyone that it certainly wasn't the case that he would soon be embarking on a quest to find the fountain of youth but that, even if he were, he wouldn't be looking for a crew. But, if he did, would anyone in the audience be interested?

He promised that such an adventure would include "zombies, cutthroats, mermaids and... Penelope Cruz" and that it would be the kind of quest that would require "A bloody map. Or a bloody Mary. Or both."

The photo, photo description and credits ( below) of the new Queen's Anne Revenge (formerly the Black Pearl) appeared on this site on July 3rd. So when they reference "yesterday" that would be July 2.

Johnny Depp's Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides is currently filming in Hawaii. The shell of the former Black Pearl has apparently been refitted as Black Beard's ship, the Queen Anne's Revenge.
