PyCon 2010

Had a great time at PyCon last weekend in Atlanta, and learned about a lot of cool technologies that I should be using. Stuff like MongoDB, Pyro, and Haystack are definitely going to finding their way into some projects I'm working on.

Thanks to all the people who put it together and keep it running, I'll definitely be back next year.

Displaying some of the worst products ever made...you know those things in the store that you see and think to yourself, "there's no way anyone bought that"...well, someone did, and Stuff People Bought is there to show it in all it's terrible glory.

1001 Arabian Nights; The Adventures of Sinbad

If you're looking for something outside of the normal superhero comic, 1001 Arabian Nights from Zenescope is definitely worth a read. I'll write more later, but for now, I'm just trying to move the current top post down.

The Gnome-Mobile (1967)

The Gnome-Mobile is a late 60s Disney movie that I hadn't heard of before a few days ago, nor would I have probably cared about it. Apparently, the hideous looking children are the same hideous children from Mary Poppins (and are even billed as "The Children from Mary Poppins). But then, I watched it and realized that Walt Disney inspired the 1970s pimp look and I was hooked.

Basically, a young gnome is looking for a girlfriend gnome and ends up finding a gnome brothel and is forced to take part in what can only be described as every man's fantasy...getting greased up and being chased around by a bunch of half naked women. From my 3 seconds of internet research, the kid from Mary Poppins never left the gnome brothel, as he was never seen in movies again.
