Apparently whatever is going around attacks your blog cells as well. I was going to mention some great on-line sources for long lost & out of print songs.

E-Bay is a great place to find what you're looking for. Here's the thing about me, I was an E-Bay skeptic. I was concerned about the reputation of the sellers, I wanted the "instant gratification" of being able to listen to my newest acquisition immediately. All that is in my past now!!! I'm a believer and have not had one single problem in five years.

On the other hand if you were purchase used music from a source like Amazon or Borders, beware. The sources shown on these sites are independent retailers...with varying reputations. Check the customer satisfaction ratings. Below 95% is kind of "iffy".

Out Of Print?

So...you haven't found your favorite songs because they are no longer "in print", which means you won't find it available from the New-CD retailers (i.e. Best Buy, Circut City, Borders, Barnes & Noble, etc.) because the record/CD/music label has decided it is profitable to manufacture CDs by the group.
Now what? Here are a couple of recommendations. Used-CD Retailers: You never know what you'll find at Vintage Stock or Half Price Book Stores. You may not find exactly what you're looking for on the first trip, but you'll probably find something that is on your list.
Another place you can rely on is Need More Discs in the Trailridge Shopping Center @ 75th & Neiman (they're on the south end of the center, facing 75th St.) Eric, who owns the store is often in, and is perhaps more dedicated to serving customers (and building repeat business) than a part-time employee elsewhere. He's more than willing to see if he can find your requests from on-line sources should you not have the time or inclination to do so yourself.
If you have any cool suggestions, send them in. Next time I'll talk/type/blog about some great on-line sources.

I enjoy talking with you about songs that you're trying to find on-line or are just trying to remember who actually did the song. Feel free to call anytime @ 57-67-105. One of my favorite sources for music info is the All Music Guide website @ www.allmusic.com. It's a great site to geek out on if you're a music fan. The company publishes several outstanding reference books on the various genre's of music but the web site is constantly updated. AMG lists the CDs being released each week, provides biographical info on artists as well as comprehensive discographies. You can search by artists, song titles, and CD/LP titles, some of which have pre-recorded song samples (although these can be obscure parts of the song and not always helpful in aiding your recall...but I digress).

I love hearing new songs, even if they're old. Hey, it's new, if it's the first time you've heard it, right? Songs can get by you when you are busy with life!

Maybe you heard it once when it came out a few years ago but then never heard the song again. Then one day there it is on 105.1 JACK-FM. Or maybe you've been listening to Country music for the past several years and you completely missed some great Rock songs, I can help.

When you can't figure out what song you heard on 105.1 JACK-FM, send me an e-mail, or call between 10am and 3pm weekdays @ 576-7105. (P.S. and by the way, you don't need to dial the 866 area code).

The "Now Playing/Last Played" feature can help, but that's sort of like not knowing how to spell a word and being told to look it up in a dictionary !?!

Pixies front-man Frank Black releases "The Best of Frank Black '93-'03"...Blondie's "Eat To The Beat" is out as a CD/DVD set...Three today from Shooting Star; "Burning", "III Wishes" and "Hang On For Your Life"...Paul Simon's "Essential Paul Simon", a two CD set, with and without a DVD...Squeeze - "East Side Story" (the one with Tempted) are out again as are Billy Squier's "Emotions In Motion" and Al Stewart's catalog.
