Here is one more fence segment from the Sea Ranch. I’m consistently fascinated by the trees and the fences at the coast. The way the wind, salt, and weather age them is always something to look at for hours.

Sand, rocks, and sky. Really, what else do you need??

Lesson – it doesn’t matter how many times you have been to a place or that you think you have taken every photo there is of a place, there is always another way to look at it.

Time to get caught up with some of my Sea Ranch photos.  I’ve been away from my computer for a while but I’m back.  This is another place that I’ve taken many photos over the years. This time of year the flow of water is pretty light.  This is a combination of a few exposures – all of them very long.  30 seconds plus, it is a bit dark here.

Happy sunset from The Sea Ranch.  The fun thing is directly behind me was a full double rainbow as I took this picture.  I will post that rainbow in the future.

Got up this morning to head to Bowling Ball Beach.  I was worried as the tide was not working in my favor this week, perfect tides were in the middle of the night or when the light was not going to be good. But it turned out okay. I was able to get pictures unlike what I’ve done before.  I wish there was some action in the sky, but you can’t have everything I guess.

Sea Ranch Day 2.  This is a spot that I’ve tried to photograph over the years and I’m never happy with what I come up with. This one in my mind is Okay, but still . . . not what I see in my mind. Sometimes there are places like this that I want to get a got picture of but it never works out right.  I’ll keep trying.  This one is an HDR of 2 different shots.  I like doing this at times as it gives the ways more motion.

This is Day one at The Sea Ranch.  My favorite “down time” place, or otherwise known as my happy place. So far I’ve not done much.  I didn’t even get up early to shot photos like I normally do.  I think now that I’ve shown you my first photo of the week, I may go get back in bed and read for a while. Then maybe a hike.  I don’t know.  Not much going on.

Rainy Day in Chicago.  Day 2 of my new home.

Now that I’ve lived in Chicago for 24 full hours I figured a photowalk was in order. Of course it was a rainy day, which I love due to lack of people and reflections. Thus, one man only at the bean.
