Long Time

2013-04-09T12:47:00.001-07:00

I have returned yet again. Must stop disappearing for months on end. But to be honest these past months, beginning from January, have been hectic. I've moved back home to Dubai from Holland and enrolled into a culinary school here. Life is looking up and I'm hella excited to kick start this "career as a chef". Picture overload of the past few months.. insert here.

The sole reasoning for my return would be just the fact that I did not enjoy my course and life in Holland. This decision has been for the best for myself. I have began a crazy health kick, losing weight, gaining power. I've been crafting and making bracelets & makeup bags with my sister. Living healthy. Living life. Saw GunsN'Roses live. Met the most adorable puppies.Cooked my heart out etcetc. I promise to be more up to date with blogging, will be including cooking and baking posts, make-up posts and tons of hauls!
Keep tuned,
Yours Truly

Decisions Decisions

2013-01-26T04:40:00.000-08:00

Ok, I've been very iffy about a million and one things lately, one being whether or not I want to continue with the course here/continue living in Holland. I never saw quitting as an option, however that is what it has come to. Over the course of the last half a year (atleast) I've lost motivation towards the course work and just purely don't care anymore. So after the hardest week of my life and a lot of decision making, I have decided to return to Dubai and rethink my life goals. So last month in Holland here we go.

Here are a few photos from my day being a hobo. I now have to commence selling all my belongings, because I am leaving with one suitcase.. just one. How on earth that is going to happen.. no idea. I still haven't unpacked my bag from my christmas break and those things will most likely remain in the suitcase till I leave. This has to be the 'craziest' decisions I've made. I don't ever make risky decisions and like to play it safe, but I believe this is for the best. For the longest time I've been miserable and not enjoying it here, so destination Dubai. (:

Septum Anti-Septum

2013-01-22T02:53:00.001-08:00

I am on the fence about removing this bullring out of my nose. Such a quarter life crisis situation in my hands... The first time I had it done was when I'd just turned 16, in Singapore. Such a painful experience but now it has become a part of me, almost like a hand or a foot. But still I've had my thoughts about just removing the metal from my face. Hrrm. Also, this is how I spend my precious study time. Contemplating the less important issues in my life.

Christmas Haul

2013-01-20T06:50:00.002-08:00

This extended Christmas break was definitely one of the good ones. Consisted of minimal drinking and maximum time spent with the fambam. The money which would have usually gone towards boozing it up and taxi fares went on shopping, shopping and more shopping. Warning: This post may consist of an unhealthy amount of studs...

H&M / Topshop / Forever21

Daiso (much needed jewelry organizational shizniz) / Cotton On

Beckham perfume ft. dust.

Cotton On / Forever21 / Bath & Bodyworks

New Look / Cotton On notebooks

Adios Amigos! Many sorries for the picture spam.

How about that 2 month break...

2013-01-19T10:55:00.004-08:00

Officially back to business. Back in cold and dark Holland...All I have to say is that I'm not keen on being back here, at all. Exams are around the corner.. AGAIN, and I've literally a motivation level of about -100% right now. Sad times for me, knock on wood that summer comes aknocking faster than ever. Here are some crappy phone photos for your viewing experience. Will do a haul on a later date.

Haulll

2012-11-24T08:52:00.000-08:00

Babblebabblebabble. I've got a stuffy nose and the ability to ramble, apologies. And also... sorry for webcam quality. Tons of apologies being thrown around today ay.

FridayFryday

2012-11-23T12:08:00.001-08:00

I've rewarded myself with an unearned lazy day. Sleep in late, watch cheesy chick flicks and a million tv shows all day, mash and gravy for dinner, peach ice tea, candles. Best feeling ever.

What I should have been doing:

And this is what I was doing:

Adios beautifuls. Go out and party before you get lazy like me!

INK!

2012-11-23T07:14:00.001-08:00

So I've finally popped my 'ink cherry'. It's been a long time coming and I decided to get my self an early 21st birthday present. Guess who is the happiest person alive right now? This psycho right here. So basically I've had this idea in my head for the longest time finally got around to getting it done. One on both shoulders, roman numerals and dates which have changed my life for the best. Right shoulder has the date of when I hauled my little 7 year old butt to Singapore and the second when my rebellious teen ass was flown to Dubai. Great first experience, great tattoo artist, great tattoo shop. Nothing negative to say, and will post some decent pictures when they are healed and all that jazz.

Sushi

2012-11-20T08:28:00.002-08:00

Until last week I had an ultimate hate towards home made sushi. I've been proven wrong! Best thing ever to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner...! I'd love to say it's cheap as chips, but obviously the basic ingredients will cost you some dollar, however, so worth it. These rolls above include crab sticks, cucumber and a chili mayo (light mayo, sriracha sauce and sesame oil). Everyone should make sushi everyday... everyday. End of the best post ever.

The Crimson

2012-11-19T06:18:00.002-08:00

Master procrastinators like myself should receive awards. I have 3 chapters aka about 150 pages of film reading to do for tomorrow, and what do I do instead of read? Play around with lipsticks and scroll through instagram although there's absolutely nothing new there. Failure here we come.

Also, why is it so fucking cold outside? I can't deal with icicles forming in your hair and eyelashes kind of weather, nor is a constant brain freeze fun either. Take out em beanies protect your brain if there is something in there to protect, which is more than I can say for myself. On a more positive note, I'm making sushi today. Who's jealous?

Weekly Activities

2012-11-18T07:59:00.000-08:00

I have officially come to terms with the fact that I will literally have no life until the end of December. Goodbye birthday and all the fun pre-Christmas festivities. However, last night at least for some part compensated for my lack of social life, because Emily cooked up a huge Thanksgiving dinner. Have to say that this was my first 'thanksgiving anything', hopefully won't be the last. Delicious mashed potatoes, turkey, gravy, veggies, deviled eggs, good drinks and great company. The ingredients for an interesting and hilarious night. Lacking in pictures though, 'insert instagram picture overflow here'. Over the course of the past week I've...

Suffered through crappy Dutch weather and enjoyed numerous cups of coffee and cigarettes.

Attempted to mix wine and whipped cream. (Only existing Thanksgiving photos)

Had healthy foods to eat and drank a little bit too much.

Struggled through too many essays with a sad face and also attempted cleaning...

Legit my favorite song right now. // follow me on instagram @jonestyy

All signs point to Lauderdale

2012-11-10T10:40:00.001-08:00

Stereotypical Dutch weather grey, gloomy, rainy and all in all, just not a great mood enhancer. So here is a quick 'outfit of the day', beats writing a million word essay on American constitutions in the 17th century...

Jeggings - Gina Tricot, Ring - Forever 21, Nailpolish - Models Own (Grace Green), Sweater - Gina Tricot, Scarf - Seppala.

Have a good weekend you lot. Party for me. I may perish from the stress this essay is giving me.

Master procrastinator here, hello.

Too much busy!

2012-11-07T14:23:00.004-08:00

The minute I get some free time... it's all an illusion. Work is piling up and that makes me sad. It also means I'll be studying for my Americas III exam on my 21st birthday. Karma what have I done to deserve this.

Flights have been booked back to the sandbox, debating on getting a job for the Christmas break (nutjob times), ALSO constructing a haul post for ya'll. It'll be up when I get my cute camo jacket from Sheinside, which I found out about on Nadja's blog. Good times. Here enjoy some pretty scenery of Groningen town.

Goodnight.

Halloween

2012-10-31T17:29:00.001-07:00

Halloween has been such a huge part of my life, well ever since I moved to Singapore at the age of 7. Generally Halloween isn't really 'celebrated' in Finland although it has become more popular within the past few years. So to the point, the only time I'd get to dress up as a witch in Finland was during easter, until my fatherdearest hauled my ass to Singapore. I lived in the most amazing apartment blocks which we would call condos, and every child would get dressed up, we would have a "community get together" ft. photo taking and showing off our costumes, followed by trick-or-treating around the entire area. That would've been hundreds of houses. Greatest times and my siblings are doing the same in Dubai, not exactly the same as it was when I was growing up, but the basic idea is still there. Finland needs to catch up with the times!

Once I'd moved to Dubai the Halloween traditions slightly wore off. I'm almost upset, if that's even the word, that my younger siblings will not get the same amazing Halloween related memories as what I've got. Either way, the minute I left Singapore that was the end of this magnificent celebration. I mean there were a few Halloweens where I'd go out in dubayy but it would include people egging houses, glassing people/getting into fights and so forth, aka not so much fun.The only times I get dressed up fancy now will be for theme parties like the one below.

Happy Halloween you lot!

MIA #2

2012-10-31T12:11:00.003-07:00

...second picture post ft. pictures from my time away from the blog world. (just because I can.)

Will return tomorrow. Maybe. Goodnight for real this time.

Missing in action

2012-10-31T12:02:00.004-07:00

And ... a million months later I'm back. Everything has been so 'hectic' lately the idea of even opening up blogspot has not even crossed my mind. There was exams, and then my two month trip to Dubai which consisted of work and partying, upon my return to the country of rain I've been buried in essays and reading and all that fun university related stuff. So technically, nothing exciting has happened to say the least.

I hope to be more consistent with these posts again, specifically at times like this when I'm meant to be writing an essay about the violation of human-rights during the 'War on Terror'. Instead I've been drowning myself in beer and watching Gilmore Girls. I shall end this post with an over flow of pictures from the months I've literally been mia. Goodnight.

Slacking

2012-06-02T15:35:00.000-07:00

Oh my, oh my. Time is going incredibly fast, and I've been slacking with this blog big time. All is well, I haven't passed onto another life, just extremely superbly busy. Between coming back from Dubai and now, it has just been uniuniunisleepuniuniuni. Can't believe it's been a month since I got back, AND I'm going back to the sandbox again in a few weeks. Super excited for a small vacation and then have to get working to earn a living, you know how it goes.

The only event worthy of talking about is the 'Glam-rock' themed party I went to a week ago. At the same time, it's really not 'worth' it. Either way, was exciting to get ready for it, to do my hair, and cake on some golden sparkly eye shadow.

Over exposed washed out faces o the century, who knows what happened there.

Good night chipmunks, I'm going to go and wrestle an essay now.

Crazy tymes.

2012-05-18T10:04:00.000-07:00

Ah thank god this week is behind me. It really just hasn't been my week in anyway. Two presentations, life time worth of work, minor bike accidents and crazy homesickness. But it's all behind me now, which is great and I can just sleep in this weekend.
Presentation wise, I haven't got much to say about the first one, however, the second one I hit a jackpot. It was for my film course on the movie Triangle (go watch it if you want a proper mind fuck, puzzle film). Who knows why I was so stressed out about it. A woot woot out to uni work.
And, then to the funny bit. My 'minor' bike accident or should I just call it a Jonna fail. Someone hadn't tied their shoelaces properly and those motherfuckers got wound up around the pedal and thus, resulted in sitting in the middle of the street unwinding it. Haha, wish you all could've seen it because it was just the funniest thing. Oh well, no shame.

So here are a few photographs from last saturday. Emily and I had a bright idea to do a 'brunch'. It's such a Dubai thing and basically means you start drinking around noon with tons of food etc. Well we did start drinking at 2.. with the alcohol store cashier looking at us like we're hardcore alcoholics. And we did make some chicken burgers AND sausage rolls. Accomplishment, especially in the state we were in by 5pm. All in all, a decent night and not so decent morning. That's all the pictures I've got for now, been too busy to do much else and so forth. Have an awesome weekend pumpkins!

Shopping... again.

2012-05-11T06:49:00.000-07:00

One thing about Dubai is that you can't go there and not spend money. Even though I attempted to convince myself that I would NOT even bother going to the malls because I can't afford to buy anymore clothes, partly because I have no money and also because my closet is over flowing with clothes I barely wear. I'll assume that I ain't the only one who buys clothes and then forgets about their existence entirely. Story of my life. Either way, I did go around spending money, hence this post. Guess who returned to the Netherlands with a million kg suitcase AGAIN.

I truly believe my ring obsession is returning, therefore, these two beauties are a part of my ever growing collection. And I couldn't resist and leave the necklace at the store either. All three from Forever 21

I caved into trying out a gel liner since there has been so much hype about it, mostly on YouTube. So far so good, applies well and perfect for winged liner. Might do a separate post on this. And then I also got an NYX lipstick which is part of the Black Label Collection . It's very, very pink and guess who loves it.

My second bottle of the Versace Crystal Noir perfume. Something has always drawn me to this scent but because of the price I only now splurged and got a second bottle. Perfect for nights out.

3 hour stop over in Heathrow = scavenging through Boots, and I came out with this facial peel. I've been a fan of Soap&Glory products for forever, and I will report the results when I find time to try it out.

Two colored pairs of shorts, entirely something new for me. Everyone who knows me well enough knows that my wardrobe mostly consists of black... and black. The picture doesn't do much justice to the true colors but either way... outfit of the day coming soon ft. color on Jonna? (Forever 21)

Some basic cut off sleeve shirts from New Look, very hispter of me... and a black cardigan with grey detailing from Forever 21.

I'd also been looking for new shoes, something very casual for days at uni and so forth. The black ones were bought first and I then returned to get the maroon ones because .. I wanted to. Both pairs from New Look and at a reasonable price too. Content.

There are some other things I got also but forgot to take photos of them. Bought some hotpink/black flip flops for the summer, and I must say they are the most comfortable flippy floppys I've ever put my feet in. Two pairs of sunglasses were also purchased along with a Garnier tinted concealer (Anti-dark circles), it does magic to the semi-raccoon eye look I've got going on half the time. No more spending money for awhile, well at least until I return to the sandbox aka. Dubai. Nonetheless, very happy about everything I splurged on... enough said.

Dubai

2012-05-09T09:12:00.001-07:00

So this post has been a long time coming but I just haven't found the time to finish it up. Either way here it is. I took a 12 day holiday to go visit the family in Dubai, and wow I must say it was a very successful and a needed vacation. Most of my time was spent either at the pool and shopping with my sister with the odd few nights out with some good friends. Very few pictures were taken but here are a few from the malls and pubs I roamed during the week. Aaand, I'll also make a separate haul post of all the redonkulous things I spent my money on. Enjoy the pictures!

Happy hour Mojitos. YES!

Ok that's a lot of pictures, but oh well life goes on. hehe.

Home

2012-05-06T11:17:00.000-07:00

Destination Holland again tonight. So much exciting things to write about and pictures to show. Stay tuned and I'll get on them as soon as I get home tomorrow <3

Surprise !

2012-04-26T01:31:00.003-07:00

So I have traveled across the world to Dubai to see my lovely family (: I'll try and stay away from the computer as much as I can because I only have a limited time. But I'll try my best to take as many pictures and such. That is all :D

Wild Party

2012-04-21T11:35:00.000-07:00

How do you know you're getting old? Not sure, but I take the fact that I can't be arsed to go out and party anymore as a sign. Emily and I have wild parties by ourselves inside the comfort of our own homes, it's quite exciting actually.

drooopy cheeks (:

Getting ready to go to hers as we speak... Love our spontaneous 'hangout' session... When we're really just hanging the next morning from alcohol poisoning. Goodbye
