The Shocking Effects Of Deforestation Come To Life In Brutal Print Ads

What would you do if someone appeared out of nowhere and chopped down your home, along with all of your belongings? It wouldn’t be easy to get back up on your feet. Animals are constantly faced with this issue due to the deforestation happening at rapid rates in many places around the globe.
In fact, around half of all tropical forests in the world have already been cleared, a scary fact considering rainforests contain 70-80% of the world’s biodiversity. When we lose rain forests we don’t just lose trees, but we lose SO much more.
Creative art director Ganesh Prasad Acharya and copywriter Kaushik Katty Roy created these gruesome print ads to bring to life the shocking, but real, effects of deforestation

The ads were designed for Sanctuary Asia, which is the largest (and first) environmental news magazine in India. The slogan for the pictures is, “When the wood go, wildlife goes.” In other words, when you take away irreplaceable animal habitats, you are taking away animal rights to life as well.
The images might be hard to stomach but they share such an important message, if we don’t do something now to stop deforestation we have a lot left to lose.
Technically, deforestation is the permanent destruction of forests in order to make land available for alternative uses, such as farming or housing. The United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) reports that around 18 million acres of forest are lost to deforestation every year.

The loss of forests is also bad news for greenhouse gas emissions, and deforestation is considered one of the greatest contributing factors to global climate change. When you take away trees, entire swaths of land become dry and barren, dead of life. But we need plants and trees, which take on the important task of absorbing greenhouse gases as well as carbon emissions.

Trees also produce oxygen and help fuel the water cycle by releasing water vapor back up into the atmosphere. Basically, if you take away the trees, you don’t only take away the animals, but eventually you take away the environment necessary for humans to thrive as well.
Since as far back as 1600 deforestation has been taking place, and in the US alone 90% of all natural forests have already been leveled. In the last 50 years there has been a large increase in deforestation, meaning now is the time to take action.

The World Resources Institute estimates the current percentage of forestland left accounts for only 22% of its original mass. The majority of natural forests left are located in Canada, Russia, Alaska, and the Northwestern Amazon basin. Sadly though, the gorgeous Amazon has been highly targeted for deforestation recently.
Forests are leveled using a number of devastating measures, including burning and clear cutting. The Natural Resources Defense Council says that the only ecological trauma that can be compared to clear cutting a forest is a major volcanic eruption.
When forests are cleared for farming, it is overused and over exposed to the sun until the soil literally dies out and new growth becomes out of the question. Once this happens, farmers cut down more forest to restart the process. Since 1960 it is estimated that 1/3 of our planet’s farmland has been destroyed due to deforestation.

When we tear down forests we are literally taking away large chunks of the earth’s precious organs, such as the heart and lungs. By destroying these precious components we are killing innocent animals, devastating local communities, and creating our own final destruction.

Who ever said that one person can’t make a difference is wrong. Jordan Leopold is one of those players that seems to get well “moved” around a lot this time of year. In fact, he actually just traded for the 4th time in his career and is finally going home. The Minnesota native was just traded to his home state from the Columbus Blue Jackets yesterday. What’s not amazing is the trade, but what is amazing is how is came to happen.
Usually trades that happen in sports are decisions based on money and performance, not warm fuzzy feelings. Jordan Leopold’s trade was different. Thanks to Jordan’s daughter, Jordyn, we have all been reminded that sports are sometimes about people, not just about the numbers.
Jordyn Leopold is the 11-year old daughter of Jordan, the 34 year old defenseman who was playing for the Columbus Blue Jackets this season. In January, she wrote a litter to the Minnesota Wild front office asking the team to trade for her father, who happens to be a Minnesota native. The letter reads “My dad is very lonely without his family. We are living in Minnestoa right now and I am lost without my dad and so it my mom, my 2 sisters and my brother. My dad is on a team with young guys and very lonely and is not playing because the Jackets got him because they needed a D-man. It has been since November and we cannot take it anymore.” She goes on to pull their heart strings a little bit tighter “Please, please, please ask the Jackets if you guys could get him.”
On Monday March 2nd, Minnesota did just that, they traded defenseman Justin Falk and a fifth round draft pick for Jordyn Leopold’s dad.

Farmer And His Son Build Transformers From Scrap Metal In China And Make $160K A Year

It’s no secret that the trash problem in China is REALLY bad, but as the saying goes… one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. This father and son duo have found the perfect way to utilize trash, they create recycled Transformers from scrap metal.
Yu Zhilin, who has a background in fine arts, realized he could create his own robot statues using recycled scrap metal car parts during his free time from farming (his full-time job). It took some time, but within 3-years he and his son, Lu Yingyun, completed their first sculpture within the walls of an abandoned factory. Since then, their Transformers from scrap metal have only grown bigger and better.
The detailed Transformer robot sculptures have turned into a growing success, in fact the Hunan farmer and his son sell enough to total over 1 million yuan ($160,000) in profits a year.

Chinese farmers truly have limitless ingenuity, this farmer and son prove you can create a thriving business from anything… even trash!
Their latest recreations of the famous Bumblebee and Optimus Prime have now gone viral, simply because they are so incredible to look at. Plus, these statues are even cooler since they are made from scrap metal that would otherwise pollute landfills.

In China, the Transformers franchise is a big deal with the latest installment earning more money than any other film in China ever.

There were struggles at first but with help from his son and a little experience Yu Zhilin is now considered the leading amateur Transformer’s builder within the Hunan province.

The Transformer robots draw a lot of local and international attention, from both curious onlookers to interested buyers. The statues are often purchased and placed out on display by malls and other public attractions, as well as private collectors.

Photographer Explores Odd Beauty Of Hairless Sphynx Cats

The hairless Sphynx cat has intrigued mankind for many years. The Sphynx is nearly bald, with a very thin coat of hair. To see all of their skin, as it folds and wrinkles atop tight muscles is so splendid, giving this breed of cat a truly unique beauty. Looking at a Sphynx is like seeing what a cat really looks like beneath all of their hair.
It’s easy to see why photographer Alicia Rius is hugely fascinated by the majestic qualities of the hairless Spynx. She writes on Bored Panda, “Sphynxes (hairless cats) fascinate me in many ways. I’m drawn by their alien look. There’s something disturbing yet eerie that keeps me astonished every time I look at one.”
Hairless Sphynx cats are available in all traditional cat colors, as their skin reflects the colors their coat would be. Without a fur coat, the Sphynx losses body temperature more rapidly than a traditional cat. This means they are warm to the touch and heat seeking–also known as the perfect cuddle buddy.

The hairless Sphynx officially developed in the 1960s, when European breeders began focusing on this particular breed, which has been cited throughout history for centuries. Researchers and breeders have found it is a recessive gene that causes this cat’s hairless quality.
Ruis writes, “Without fluffy and fancy coats, this breed shows what a true cat is. Everything is raw, exposed, vulnerable. This body of work is an exploration of the beauty of Sphynxes within their oddity.”

Animals and photography have always been a huge part of Rius’ life. Growing up she loved to bring home new animals and her father and aunt worked as professional photographers.

Rius attended college and received a BA in Advertising and an MA in International Marketing, but the job she earned through these degrees was not fulfilling. It wasn’t until she started to photograph animals full-time for a living that she found true career bliss.

Rius writes on her website, “My passion for animals has pushed me to explore their beauty and uniqueness while capturing an elusive mood of the animal’s personality and expressions.”

There are quirks about being a human being that can simply never be fully understood. One of them is believing in superstitions and we think this makes the top five. The fact that there is no actual (not even teensy bit) justification for believing in superstitions makes this phenomenon even stranger.

On the surface, superstitions don’t really present any harm. But, many people have held tight onto certain superstitions and they’ve actually become a self-fullfilling prophesy. Here are 5 superstitions that people hold so true that it actually affects the economy, health, religion and our daily lives!

Friday The 13^th

For a tattoo enthusiast, Friday the 13^th is a great day to get a cheap tattoo. However, those who believe in the said superstition it’s an unlucky day. Mix in somebody who follows the superstition obsessively, and you’ve got yourself a disaster in the making.

Donald Dossey, founder of the Stress Management Center and Phobia Institute in Asheville, North Carolina says, “it’s been estimated that [U.S] $800 or $900 million is lost in business on this day because people will not fly or do business they would normally do.” Many people who believe in this superstition whole heartedly choose not to go to work, drive, shop, etc.

The impact of this superstition has even reached stock market as many stock traders who believe in this superstition withdraw themselves from trading. In fact, a mini stock market blunder occurred on Friday, October 13, 1989 with the Dow Jones closing at almost 7% down – although, we can confidently say that it had nothing to do with it being Friday the 13^th. Even though the level of activity in the market lowers on this day, it is interesting to find that the returns seen have been slightly better than average days. According to ABC News, “stocks have shown an average positive return on Friday the 13ths of 58.6 percent from 1945-2011, according to the analysis, with an average Dow Jones Industrial Average daily return of 0.08%.”

The Black Cat (and dog)

The superstition surrounding black cats lead people to believe that they possess some form of vicious evil. Unfortunately, this drives many people to prefer cats of different colors – leaving black cats behind in shelters and unfortunately to their demise. This color based discrimination towards our feline friends has seeped into the realm of dogs, referred by animal shelters as the “black dog syndrome.”

This study shows that majority believe that black dogs (of the same breed) were not only seen to be less desirable adoptability wise, but also thought to be less friendly and more aggressive.

Your Zodiac Sign Is What Again?

“I’m a Taurus and you are an Aquarius, there is just no way we can ever work out.” You may yet to encounter someone so passionate about astrology, but folks with such devotion do exist. Now, don’t get us wrong, the traits observed in Zodiac signs may (or may not) help you identify who you are and can even help you overcome your weaknesses. But, it seems okay to say that there are enough things that people can be judged for in our society without adding zodiac signs to the list.

In China, many employers seek to hire candidates based upon their zodiac sign. A posting for a job can read, “Must be Libra, Aquarius, or Aries.” Interestingly, Virgos are considered to be least favorite of the signs; Felicia Jiang, founder of popular astrology website NoDoor.com states that, “Virgos are perfectionists, so they’ll often criticize other people.” So unfortunately, being born at a certain period of the year is also a requirement – talk about an unnecessary inconvenience.

The Yaoya Oshichi Story

A lot of elements of Chinese Astrology have found their way to Japan; not only do you get an animal to represent your traits, but you get an element also. Thought to have been born in 1666 AD, a girl named Yaoya Oshichi attempted arson in order to seek the attention of her true love; (let’s cut to the end) she got caught, given the death penalty and no surprise here, burned at the stake. Another important thing to note, her zodiac sign was Fire Horse.

This brings us to today, a world where women born under the Fire Horse sign are deemed dangerous and unlucky. In order to prevent girls being born under this sign, many people of Japanese decent decide not to have babies in the year of the Fire Horse. The year 1966 was the last recent Fire Horse year and records indicate that Japanese babies born during that year had significantly declined; even in high Japanese populated communities – ex. Hawaii and California. To add to this, infant mortality rates were significantly higher (for girl babies) when compared to the years before and after.

The next Fire Horse year is set to be for 2026.

The Evil Number 4?

The number 4 has been labelled with negative connotations in various Asian cultures; in fact, death and the number 4 are pronounced identically – “shi.” Real estate is the field this superstition has the biggest concern with. A report shows that houses in a Chinese neighborhood in Vancouver with the number 4 in it sold for about $8,000 less compared to identical houses in that neighborhood.

Interestingly, research has shown that Chinese and Japanese people have extremely high death rates on the 4^th of a month when compared to Caucasian Americans. This can be linked with the psychological idea of “voodoo death”; the idea claims that death can be the result if someone is stressing/fearing at extremely high levels. Simply put, Asians are manifesting their deaths due to their fear of the number 4.

Also, buildings in Korea tend to use the letter F instead of 4 in the elevators – a concept similar to how many buildings in the United States don’t have the 13^th floor.

Most AMAZING Octopus Has Case of the Blues!

This octopus does the most extraordinary thing, watch him go from completely hidden to a giant blue blog in under 10 seconds! Jonathan Gordon was diving in the Caribbean when he happened to come along this amazing creature, completely by accident! Most octopuses are masters of camouflage, but when danger lurks nearby, they often lose their cool and turn into a giant blue ball. Octopuses are capable of changing colors in an instant because of their chromatophore cells that house sacs of pigment. This is an extremely rare case and luckily it was all filmed while Gordon was on a snorkeling trip in the warm Caribbean waters. “I dove down to have a look at the shell that you can see under where the octopus appears and as I approached the octopus came out of hiding” Gordon wrote in the video description. “I literally had no idea he was there until I was about a meter away.” Moral of the story, look close or you might miss something!

We Need Animal Awareness Campaigns Like This In America

Singapore has a firm grasp on the issues of economics, technology, and other topics one comes to expect from a developed nation. However, they face a serious issue with abandoned and stray dogs. Even though Singapore has animal shelters to help, like all organizations, animal shelters must also market their institution to attract potential customers. The issue is, many animal shelters already run on an extremely tight budget. While most animal shelters use social media (mainly Facebook) to their advantage, any changes to their advertising plans can limit their prospective outreach. Thankfully, many animal lovers have shown consistent loyalty in adopting pets from animal shelters, but most people buying pets still purchase them from puppy mills or large corporations. With most animal shelter loyalists already owning multiple pets and no means of a large scale advertising budget, animal shelter’s adoption rates had been steadily declining. Home For Hope was created to help provide relief to this depressing condition and also drive awareness on the issue. They teamed up with two animal shelters – Save Our Street Dogs (SOSD) and Animals Lovers League (ALL) – and IKEA to create a marketing campaign that has had tremendous results! To add to the momentum, many other companies have joined the campaign. Check out the video to see how a simple trick made a huge difference! You probably have seen the video of the dancing skeletons, but if you haven’t then you are about to witness one of 2015’s most uplifting campaigns so why don’t you check out the video?! And if you have seen it be bet you can’t wait to watch it again.
The video is brought to you by Love Has No Labels campaign. Their mission statement reads, “Before anything else, we are all human. It’s time to embrace diversity. Let’s put aside labels in the name of love.”
The idea is to show everybody that we are all capable of giving and receiving love regardless of color, age, gender, disability and discriminating based on any of these notions is simply wrong. It is amazing to know that less than 50 years ago, being in an interracial relationship was illegal.
Similar to how interracial relationships are considered normal by most people in today’s society, a similar conscience of acceptance (and appreciation) must be extended to people in homosexual relationships, also – and of course anybody and everybody that is in a loving relationship.
The fact that this topic still remains an ongoing debate really prohibits us from moving forward. It’s 2015 and it should be globally clear and understood that hating other people based on their orientation is not only wrong but a waste of valuable time.

Van Gogh’s Remarkable Contribution To Science

Van Gogh is a name that anyone who has ever taken an art class has heard of. Out of a catalog of over 2000 artworks, two of his works come immediately to mind. One is a self-portrait he had made after cutting off his ear from a mental episode– although, there are claims that say he lost it in a friendly sword fight in the dark so we will let you pick your own preferred ending. The other is entitled the Starry Night.

Starry Night usually serves as one of the most iconic artworks of the Post-Impressionist era. But, its strangeness has even served a purpose in the field of science.

Turbulence, in a fluid dynamic, is a concept that is not very easy to explain (or envision) using mathematics – art however provides a remarkable bridge to help understand this theory. The eddies in the Starry Night provide perspective on turbulence. After scientists compared the Starry Night to Van Gogh’s other works and also the works of other impressionist painters, it was clear that only Van Gogh was the master of capturing turbulence. Interestingly, he had made the painting after he had admitted himself into a mental facility after the ear incident; perhaps a great example of how true emotions can be put into art.

People are always saying that cats are mean and heartless, that they are not as loving as dogs. Or that cats are selfish and only care about themselves. But as every other cat lover out there knows: this is so not true!
Don’t believe me? Then just watch this video of a mommy kitty trying to save her baby. Sure she could be sunning herself, chasing juicy spiders, or sniffing around the kitchen for some food, but this kitty is no Garfield! Instead she’s busy trying to save her baby kitten trapped up in a tree.
Cats are notorious for climbing everything, trees included. They are built for the sport and do it quite well. But that doesn’t mean cats don’t get stuck up in trees. Baby kittens are even more likely to get halfway up before realizing, “what-meow?”
In fact there are businesses that provide services to remove cats stuck in trees—that’s how often it happens. The mommy cat in this video wished she had their number on the day this video was captured.

Trapped up in a tree, her kitty cries and cries cute little kitten tears. Mama cat knows her baby needs some help, and so she climbs up the tree to reach and assist her white ball of fluff. When she reaches her you can practically feel the relief. That is until mama tries to grab the back of her kitty’s neck, apparently attempting to carry her down. But instead of going along, the kitten clings tight to the branch with her paws. Mom tries, and then tries again, all to no avail. And so she takes another route of action. Mom starts walking down the tree, hoping her kitty will follow. At first, it appears that she will, but then this bundle of fur decides to do what cats do best: cause mischief. Instead of climbing down the tree, the kitty climbs up even higher, situating herself on the next available perch. “Oh no way!” Says momma cat, as she scampers back up, once again trying to take her baby by the neck. Just like the time before, to no avail. This kitty is quite the handful! She cries and cries up in the tree, but she sure doesn’t want to let mom drag her back down. And so mommy seems to give up, showing her kitten how to climb down by example and then hoping for the best. Here’s where you might be thinking- ah-hah! Cold and heartless, she gave up, what mom gives up?! Think again, this mommy kitty isn’t standing by calmly. She’s fiercely panting! Cats only pant when they are really thirsty or really stressed out. Clearly, with the current situation at hand, this mommy cat is full of stress! And who wouldn’t be? She can’t seem to control her baby kitty, now dangling up in a tree, crying, but resistant to help. Even though mommy worries her kitten will remain in the tree forever, it doesn’t take long before she follows her mommy’s example and makes her way down the tree. Slowly but surely the kitten reaches solid ground, causing you to wonder how mom is going to react. As any mother might relate, momma cat is relieved but not necessarily overjoyed. In fact she probably wants to give her baby a stern hissing, “You scared the catnip out of me!” Moms are awesome, always there to help us out when we need them. Giving us the loving encouragement all species crave. Even in the animal kingdom, moms reign supreme, lovingly taking care of their babies—even those with a mischievous agenda.

Elegant Hand-Blown Glass Creatures Come To Life By Scott Bisson

Oregon-based artist Scott Bisson is passionate about glass blowing, and his passion clearly shows through the hand-blown glass creatures he brings to life.
Many of his creations portray aquatic creatures and amphibians, as their natural shape is perfectly resembled by the flowing qualities of molten glass.
Bisson unexpectedly fell in love with glass blowing back in high school during a chemistry class. He bent a glass tube over a Bunsen burner and realized how much he could do with heat and glass. From that moment on he was hooked.

Since his high school days, Bisson has continued to work on perfecting his art by working with a number of professional tutors. His mentors clearly saw his talents growing as they would watch him expertly shape and twist molten glass into incredible creations.

Bisson is both creative and energetic; he is always working to challenge himself in new ways. He wrote on his website, “If I don’t lose a piece a day from getting in over my head, then I am not pushing myself hard enough.”

Bisson has studied under five different masters, including the world-renowned Pilchuck School with Robert A. Mickelson. Over the years he has also met and observed Dante Marioni, Peter Novotney and William Morris.

Scott works with both blown and flameworked glass, which are two very different mediums requiring unique sets of skills. His flameworked pieces are incredibly life-like and include frogs, geckos and more. Bisson uses a blowpipe to create his larger pieces, such as paperweights and pitchers.

No matter what Bisson creates, he believes the only way to produce his very best work is by using energy and excitement. He said, “Skill is the raw material of a great piece, and drive and energy make it take shape.”

It is a rare genetic mutation that causes lobster to produce too much of a certain protein, as a result they develop a blue coloring. It’s said that for every one blue lobster there are 2-million red lobsters, meaning it’s a true rarity to catch a bright blue variation.

Also known as the whitespot crab, red land crab, and the mouthless crab, this colorful crab is from the family Gecarcinidae.

Technically known as a ‘pink slug’ these brightly colored beauties are new on the documented species list. This species is found living some 320 miles from northwest Sydney, in a rather remote part of Australia. They may have just gotten their official papers, but these newly documented slugs have roamed the earth for many years. They are said to date back over 180 million years ago.

Black Rooster Ayam Cemani
The Ayam Cemani is a relativly new and uncommon breed of chicken with origins in Indonesia. In Indonesian, ayam translates to “chicken” and cemani translates to “completely black.” It’s no exaggeration, everything about these chickens is black, from their feathers, to their beaks, and even their meat and organs are dark.

Stray Dog Kicked By Driver Returns With Pack Of Four-Legged Friends To Trash His Car

Don’t mess with stray dogs, they are smart and understand a thing or two about revenge! One man that lives in Chongqing, China just learned this lesson the hard way after he literally kicked an innocent stray dog out of his parking spot.
When he returned home he saw a stray dog sprawled out in his parking spot, irritated he got out of his car and forcefully kicked the dog so that he would move. At the time, the dog fled the scene but he didn’t forget the harsh actions of the man, or where his car was parked.
Later that day the dog returned with a group of his four-legged friends looking to seek revenge. The dogs did a great job trashing the man’s vehicle, chewing at the fenders, wipers and other parts of the car, creating noticeable damage.
The owner of the car, and the man who kicked the dog earlier, wouldn’t have known who had trashed his car if it weren’t for a neighbor who happened to see the pack of canines going bark-wild on the burgundy-colored VW. When the neighbor saw the dogs chewing at the man’s car they grabbed a camera and started taking photos.

The adorable stray dog didn’t take kindly to being kicked out of his spot, and for a hunk of metal!?

He informed his friends what had to be done, and they all returned later to seek revenge by sinking their teeth into the car.

The concerned neighbor couldn’t believe what they were seeing, and so they stopped to take pictures of the dogs in action. After showing the photos to the vehicle’s owner, he knew right away that he deserved it… after all, he recognized the leading dog as the one he had kicked out of his parking spot earlier.

The next time you consider treating an animal unfairly, you’ve been warned: Karma is real, and it’s a b%!$*!

Russian photographer Fox Grom captured these beautiful photos of Siberian Huskies playing on a thawing frozen lake with a stunning reflective surface. The lake is frozen but beginning to thaw out in places, which makes it look like the dogs are literally walking on water instead of ice. The ice has only begun to melt at the very top, leaving a thin layer of water above frozen ice.
Grom and his dogs live in Kirovsk in Murmansk Oblast, located near the northernmost region of Russia. In other words, Grom’s dogs have no issues with a little cold water, living to the north of the Arctic circle means these canines can handle some truly icy temperatures.
These gorgeous Siberian huskies playing around on the partially thawed lake are having a grand time! Perfectly happy dogs paired with a breathtaking backdrop makes you think anything is possible… after all, it looks like these dogs have mastered the skill of walking on water.

The Siberian husky is a gorgeous medium-sized dog, with a dense-coat that helps keep the cold out. Belonging to the Spitz family, this breed of working dog is known for having an outgoing, alert, friendly, gentle and intelligent temperament.

Playing fetch on a partially thawed lake seems risky, but the lake is actually frozen solid beneath the very top layer of thawed ice.

Taking a little sip of water along the way, how convenient!

Seriously, it looks like he is walking on water….

The way that the clouds reflect off of the mirror-like surface creates the illusion that these dogs are playing high up in the clouds.

Buddhist monks are famous for their amazing feats of intense strength and concentration. What they can do would probably kill most people. But normal feats of strength weren't enough for one Buddhist monk in Thailand's Nong Bua Lamphu province.
He decided to take it to a whole new level: meditating in the lotus position while immersed up to his waist in boiling, hot oil.

While it might look like more of a publicity stunt, this is actually a religious ceremony. After the monk is finished meditating, bottles of the oil and relics from the ceremony will be sold to spectators seeking blessings.

I think it's a toss-up as to which word makes people (mainly men) more uncomfortable: period or feminism. They both seem to make people think of bloodshed, man-hating, and anger, but in reality, neither are all that shocking. One is a biological process, and one is the idea that all people are equal regardless of gender.
Elonë from Karsruhe, Germany, decided to take these hot-button issues to the street using a bold medium: a menstrual pad.

Rape is a violent, traumatizing crime. Not biology.
Elonë uses the pads to relay messages about women and the issues they face. She sets up the cultural taboo of menstruation, which is seen as embarrassing and gross, against the very real threat of sexual violence faced by women the world over. Such violence is often written off or considered "normal."

This pad takes on the notion that women are "asking for" sexual assault based on their wardrobe choices, and reminds people that no matter what someone is wearing, that person is still a human being.

You can ponder feminism while ordering lunch. After all, riding the cotton pony makes you hungry.

Here is a boy who is cool with feminism. Look up to him.
So far, Elonë's images of the public messages were shared over social media thousands of times. Elonë decided to stick up her messages on March 8, International Women's Day, and hopes they'll help in combating sexism, victim-blaming, and rape culture.

This translates to "my name is not baby," in response to catcalling and street harassment. And no, street harassment =/= a compliment, guys.

This one is about the way women's appearances are often considered to be up for public commentary.
