stato veramente sorprendente vedere quante persone hanno scaricato ipAddress da Apple Store. Sicuramente il merito va anche a quei blog e siti di informazione che hanno rilanciato la notizia, ma per me è una grande soddisfazione visto che avevo comprato il mio primo Mac solo 15 giorni prima :)<br /> <div>In questi giorni mi sono fermato perchè sto progettando un'applicazione di georeferenziazione molto piu' potente e versatile ma nel frattempo ho fatto un aggiornamento che a giorni dovrebbe essere disponibile su Apple Store.<br /> Questo aggiornamento rende l'applicazione piu' veloce ed espande il numero di database che ispeziona per localizzare l'ip. In pratica è piu' veloce e precisa (ma non fa miracoli)..</div><div><br /> </div><div>Per chi avesse scaricato <b>ipAddress </b>e vuole saperne di piu' mi sembra doveroso dare qualche spiegazione su cosa esattamente fa questa applicazione.</div><div>In pratica il suo scopo è duplice. Il primo è quello di dirti quale è l'indirizzo ip del tuo collegamento internet (se hai il <b>WiFi </b>è facile saperlo, ma se sei connesso tramite cellulare.. lo è un po' di meno). Il secondo, piu' importante, è quello di interrogare vari servizi presenti in rete per sapere dove si trova un indirizzo ip che hai inserito nella form di interrogazione.</div><div><br /> </div><div>Il risultato che molti si aspettano è che ipAddress vi riporti la vostra precisa posizione. Falso, per quello c'e' già il <b>GPS</b>. ipAddress vi riporta la posizione nota per il vostro indirizzo Ip. Per fare questo interroga alcuni dei piu' importanti servizi a disposizione in rete.</div><div><br /> </div><div>Questi servizi sono perlopiu' <a href="http://hostip.info/">gratuiti </a>e si basano sul volontariato. Ce ne sono anche di <a href="http://www.maxmind.com/">commerciali</a>, ma si fanno pagare e ipAddress è gratuito, quindi ho preferito consultare i database gratuiti ;-)</div><div><br /> </div><div>Ma a cosa puo' essere utile uno strumento come ipAddress geolocator? <b>Fondamentalmente a sapere da quale &nbsp;paese proviene un accesso fatto tramite un indirizzo IP</b>. Applicazioni che permettono di esaminare al volo i paesi di provenienza di un indirizzo IP sono utilizzate soprattutto nel campo della ricerca <b>antispam</b>, <b>antibot </b>e <b>fraud-prevention</b>.&nbsp;</div><div><br /> </div><div>una futura versione di ipAddress se mai sentissi la necessità di farla.. potrebbe permettere di mostrare i paesi di provenienza di elenchi di indirizzi ip, magari importati su iphone o puntati attraverso una url. In questo modo &nbsp;sarebbe possibile fare un'analisi in mobilità di un certo tipo di traffico sospetto.</div><div><br /> </div><div>una risoluzione precisa a livello di città non è semplice. La geolocalizzazione non è precisa per tutto il mondo, soprattutto in Italia, dove indirizzi di server ospitati in web farm della capitale risultano allocati a Genova (perchè di Genova è la proprietaria della web farm), ma sono molto precisi a livello di "country".</div><div><br /> </div><div>Per questo molti servizi gratuiti aggiornano i loro database sulla base della buona volontà di provider e organizzazioni che donano loro informazioni. tipo il posizionamento dei loro server.
