Hace un par de días un gran amigo y participante del Proyecto Juuntos.org me comento algo sobre este portal, pero no me di cuenta hasta que leí el comunicado de los miembros de esta comunidad. Todo el problema y la aparición de esta comunidad parte a raíz de que que los mierdas de Open Sourse Matters han suspendido el famoso JUG.

Announce Joomla 2.5 Beta1 Released

The Joomla Project is pleased to announce the availability of Joomla 2.5 Beta 1 for download. This is the second release made within the new six-month release cycle that started with the delivery of Joomla 1.6 in January 2011.

What is this release for?

There are several goals for this release:

To allow advance testing of sites and custom extensions so that site administrators and developers can report any problems before the final release.
To raise awareness that the end of the current development cycle is fast approaching.
To allow testing of the upgrade from version 1.7 to 2.5.0.

What is this release NOT for?

This beta version of Joomla 2.5 Beta1 is not suitable for production sites. It should be used for testing only.

When is the final release due?

Joomla 2.5.0 GA (general availability) is due to be released on or about 10 January 2012. The planned milestone after this date are:

10 February 2012 - Joomla 1.7 reaches end of life and is no longer supported
April 2012 - Joomla 1.5 reaches end of life
July 2012 - Next version of Joomla is released

Please note that dates may be subject to change depending on availability of volunteers and circumstances beyond our control.

How do I upgrade to Joomla 2.5?

Upgrading from Joomla 1.7 to Joomla 2.5.0 will be very easy. Most users can use the automatic update or install the update archive using the Extension Manager: Install option.

If you are using Joomla 1.5 then you will still be required to migrate your site using the jUpgrade component.

What’s new in this release?

Here is a list, with links to the Feature tracker issue.

In addition, we are using the latest version of the Joomla platform in this release.

What happens to Joomla 1.7?

Joomla 2.5 is the direct upgrade for Joomla 1.7. Joomla 1.7 will be supported for critical security issues only for a period of one month after the release of Joomla 2.5. After that time, only Joomla 1.5 and Joomla 2.5 will be supported by the Joomla project. Note that Joomla version 2.5 is a long-term-support (LTS) release and will be supported for at least 18 months.

How can you help Joomla development?

The great news is you don’t have to be a developer to help build Joomla. The Joomla Bug Squad is one of the most active teams in the Joomla development process and is always looking for people (not just developers) that can help with sorting bug reports, coding patches and testing solutions. It’s a great way for increasing your working knowledge of Joomla, and also a great way to meet knew people from all around the world.

Demasiadas Extensiones Joomla! Comerciales

Durante el transcurso del 2011 he notado que en los principales directorios de Extensiones Joomla, cada vez hay más extensiones que son Comerciales. Por un lado esto puede ser un problema para los nuevos desarrolladores Joomla, porque si sus nuevas extensiones no convencen al público es muy difícil que consigan ganancias con ellas. Por otro lado, esto es algo maravilloso, dado que esto demuestra que cada vez hay más desarrolladores Joomla, que están intentando hacerse un hueco dentro del mundo del mejor CMS de la historia.

Para los que no lo sepan, generalmente una extensión Joomla, cuando se lanza por primera vez, si no tienen algún sponsor de por medio, esta extensión seguramente sea de Pago o Comercial. Otras tantas suelen estar un año en modo Comercial y una vez que los desarrolladores ganan suficiente dinero con ella, la suelen liberar a modo no comercial. La conclusión final del caso, es que lo mejor es lanzar Extensiones Joomla libres con licencia GNU, solamente basta con visitar los sitios Web oficiales de las extensiones Joomla más famosas y comprobar sus foros de soporte, suelen tener miles y miles de post, al contrario de las extensiones Comerciales. Por eso hay que hacer una gran reflexión en este tema.

La importancia de completar los dos campos de Información de metadatos dentro de cada articulo Joomla!. ¿Por qué realizar esta acción en cada articulo?, pues para conseguir un mejor SEO - posicionamiento web en los buscadores. Sobre todo con el rey de la red de búsqueda, el señor Google, que es sin duda tú mejor amante dentro de un sitio Web. Cuando lleves un tiempo trabajando para indexar tu Web Joomla! en Google, te darás cuenta que es una relación amor odio, un verdadero tira y afloja de ambas partes. Joomla! es el CMS más Pirateado o compartido en Internet, las empresas que se dedican a desarrollar Componentes, Módulos, Plantillas o Plugins para Joomla, pensaran que esto es malo para su negocio. Pero creo que esto ayuda a todos, dado que en este intercambio de links, enlaces cruzados y Backlinks; los primeros que salen ganando son los desarrolladores. Seguramente esto que les comentó, no se lo han ni planteado dichos "Desarrolladores-Joomla". Puede parecer de locos esto que me atrevo a comentar, pero para mi es totalmente lucrativo el que circulen por la red, versiones de pagos de las diferentes modalidades del mejor CMS de contenidos.

Joomla! es el CMS más Pirateado o compartido en Internet

Vamos a poner algunos ejemplos de los componentes que más circulan por la red y son de pago, pero que descargándolos de estas páginas no pagas un Euro por ellos. Jomsocial es sin duda unos de los más pirateados por el abanico de posibilidades que nos ofrece este componente para crear redes sociales con Joomla!.

Pues de todas las personas que descargan este componente de modo ilegal, les llega a la empresa Azrul = Jomsocial más de 600000 visitas al mes dentro del site del componente. Esto es puro marketing y a su vez SEO, totalmente gratis.

Estamos de acuerdo que los que realizan los componentes pierden algo de dinero, porque esta gente no pilla las suscripciones o no compra sus componentes, pero al final son más las ventajas que las desventajas.

Obseción por instalar o actualizar a Joomla 1.6

Desde el lanzamiento de Joomla 1.6, hay una locura colectiva por instalar Joomla 1.6, o actualizar el Joomla 1.5. Me he parado a observar el error que cometen cientos de usuarios en esta elección, dado que aunque los chicos del proyecto Joomla se empeñen en promocionar la última versión, esta todavía muy verde. Si tienes pensado realizar un nuevo proyecto con Joomla, hazlo con la versión Joomla 1.5.22, dado que esta versión es la más estable y dispondrás de todos los componentes, módulos y plugings Joomla que se te ocurran. En cambio embarga Joomla 1.6 esto no es asi, por lo menos faltan 6 meses mínimo para que todas las extensiones Joomla se actualicen a la versión 1.6.

The Kunena Team is excited to announce the release of Kunena 1.6.0 stable. This is the final release for Kunena 1.6 and is stable enough to be used on live production websites. We encourage all users of prior Kunena releases to upgrade to 1.6 (backup and testing are strongly recommended!).

Kunena 1.6.0 Stable Released

Since the third release candidate of Kunena 1.6, the Kunena team has been focused on fixing over 100 bugs and issues including CSS fixes, IE7 and IE8 compatibility, usability issues, API issues, html validation issues, new modules and plug-ins and updating languages translations.

Kunena 1.6 marks a major milestone for the Kunena Project. A long list of open source contributors have committed over 2500 changes and have helped make Kunena the leading forum solution for both Joomla 1.5 and 1.6. A long list of new features in addition to various optimizations and code restructuring have resulted in the most advanced version of Kunena to date.

We continue to put a big emphasis on usability and ease of installation. Therefore, the installer has been further enhanced to allow for multiple installation and upgrade options. It performs incremental steps to avoid timeouts on slower hosts. It automatically performs actions such as taking the forum offline during the installation or upgrade and re-enables it after completing the install.

Kunena now supports Joomla 1.6 style languages files that are backward compatible with Joomla 1.5. Multiple languages are included in the base install packages and more will be available soon. They can also be installed separately. Kunena 1.6 also support multiple languages to be installed on a single system and, together with Joomla, allows users to select their preferred language.

Templates have now been separated from the underlying code, which allows for version-independent template development. Templates can embed various options that can be set via the included template manager (e.g. avatar position on left, right, top, or bottom in the new default template, Blue Eagle).

The Kunena Team is fully committed to Joomla 1.6 and beyond and a number of modules have been developed to lay the groundwork for future releases of Joomla.

Joomla es superado por Wordpress dentro de los apps de Android.Actualmente hay una ventaja muy grande en aplicaciones para tu terminal Android por parte de Wordpress.Esperamos que en el futuro esto no sjga igual y los Joomleros podamos disfrutar de Android mejor.

ContactMap es un componente gratuito para Joomla! 1.5. Se trata de un formulario de contacto muy simple, para proporcionar a sus clientes un soporte REALMENTE RÁPIDO dentro del componente de contacto Joomla!.con un mapa de Google de su ubicación!,usted tiene cuatro campos disponibles: Nombre, email, asunto y mensaje. El usuario envía los datos y usted obtiene un mail.La última versión del componente ContactMap es la 3.6 recientemente actualizada el 21 de Septiembre del 2010.

ContactMap está disponible con los datos de contacto de Joomla y Joomla SEF.
Y tiene su módulo Captcha integrado.También utiliza la función StreetView de Google Maps.

El equipo de Kunena se complace en anunciar la liberación de Kunena 1.6.0 Release Candidate 3. Esta es la tercera versión RC y la última antes de la versión final de Kunena 1.6.

Es lo suficientemente estable como para ser utilizada en sitios de producción, (principalmente para pruebas),siempre que instales un componente joomla en versión RC ten en cuenta que puede contener varios fallos (bugs).Por eso siempre conviene esperar al Final Release.
