Savvy Panda to Give Two Speeches at International Joomla Event: J and Beyond

Community Magazine, recently made some key additions to their rock star staff including someone who might look a little familiar.

Included in the Joomla Community Magazine’s new staff members, Gabriel Wahhab, Milwaukee resident and owner of Savvy Panda Joomla Web Development, was appointed as the “Business Matters Lead Editor”. Gabriel’s role in the monthly magazine will be organizing, creating and developing content related to the business side of Joomla. Savvy Panda is proud to announce that we have won two Spotlight Awards this year at the 2011 CMS Expo. Presented by the Content Management System Association, Savvy Panda took home “Best Joomla! CMS Site for Small Business” for our website for their Detroit Meal Plans website and “Best Joomla! CMS Design Firm”.

The Best Joomla site for small businesses was awarded to us for our work on Detroit Meal Plans. Savvy Panda owner Gabe Wahhab returns from the Netherlands after attending Joomla! and Beyond. Held annually, the conference gives attendees the opportunity to exchange ideas with others in the worldwide community. This year, the conference was held May 6th thru 8th in the Netherlands, one of the birthplaces of Joomla! and was attended by people from 35 countries with about 10% in attendance representing the US.

Joomla and Beyond is an important conference for Joomla! developers around the world to come together to collaborate on the latest technology plans and market demands. This esteemed conference provides an excellent networking opportunity for all players in the Joomla! community to exchange ideas. All sessions are proposed and voted on by the community so the conference is tailored specifically to the demands of the attendees. With over 55 speakers, there is no shortage of learning opportunities.

Savvy Panda made the trip to Providence, Rhode Island this week for the Snow & Ice Symposium hosted by the Snow and Ice Management Association (SIMA). The Snow & Ice Symposium (or as SIMA refers to it “The Best Show in Snow”) helps professionals in snow and ice join together to discuss all aspects of their work.

You may be wondering what a Joomla Web Design & Development company is doing at expo for snow and ice professionals. Savvy Panda just helped SIMA develop GoPlow.coman educational & community portal for the snow and ice industry. While creating GoPlow.com we learned a lot about the industry and that there are a lot folks out there who get really excited about snow.

So we headed east to showcase our work and we met a lot great people at very professionally run expo. During the expo we gave away a free 10.1” MSI netbook who Terry Swally from BSR Services won. Thanks to all great people who stopped by our booth and to SIMA for putting on a wonderful expo.

We are proud to launch our latest site, GoPlow. GoPlow is an online community and information portal created with the intent to unite and inform the professional snow and ice management industry.
