We helped style Andrea and Chris’ engagement shoot back in November.  We started with a Pinterest inspiration board (click here), and ended up with a shoot filled with personal touches, a color palette complimenting their winery wedding, and a couple beaming every time they looked at each other.

Kristine is our style-guru!  She picked our couple’s brain on their likes and dislikes, what they enjoyed doing together, etc.  The process doesn’t have to be laborious, but the little effort it took planning for the shoot paid off.  Adding personal touches near and dear to their hearts made the photos all the more special.

Finally, Brittany’s college and life schedule have slowed down enough for her to jump on board to help JES this year.  Not only will Brittany help us at our events, she will also help us blog and keep our fans updated on the social media circle.  We asked Brittany to tell us a little bit about herself, and here’s what she had to say:

Give us a quick intro:

Ciao! My name is Brittany, and I am ecstatic to join the JES team. I am currently a senior at Chapman University, earning my degree in public relations and advertising with a minor in psychology. I am looking forward to graduating this coming May and beginning the next chapter of my life.

What do you look forward to the most working with JES?

I have a passion for events. I enjoy the details, the creativity and the opportunity to be a part of someone’s life, even for just a moment. Weddings signify the beginning of a new chapter, and is one of the most joyous occasions in a couple’s life.  The hopeless romantic in me can’t help but be drawn to helping make that perfect dream become a lifetime reality.

What do you do on your free time?

In my free time I craft, cook, watch movies or have dance parties with my roommates—life is sweeter when filled with laughter.

Share one of your mantras:

I believe in the power of constantly trying to maintain a positive mindset, even during the most stressful times. That personal belief also ties into my desire to work in events; I want to carry the stressful load so the client doesn’t have to and can enjoy the fruits of their vision.

To create your envelope liner, you’ll need to follow these steps:

{1}  Take one of your envelopes and carefully take it apart until it’s open flat.  I wasn’t that careful {as you can see}, but the part of the envelope that’s most important is the flap and middle section of the envelope.

{2}  Using a pen, mark along the inside of the ‘glued’ portion of the flap as well as slightly inside the side folds and bottom of the envelope.

{3}  Cut the envelope where you’ve traced until…

{4}  You’re left with the flap and center piece of your envelope, which is now your template.

For this particular mailer, I wanted to incorporate part of our brand to thank you cards I was mailing out, so I printed our circles graphics on  81/2″ x 11″ sheets of paper to use as my liner.  You can use whatever decorative scrapbook, wrapping, or even specialty paper like these from Paper-Source.  To create and assemble your liner, follow these steps:

{5}  Trace your template on the back of your ‘special paper.’

{6}  Turn your cut special paper over and insert into an envelope.

{7}  Glue the liner centered and right below the ‘glued’ portion of the flap.

{8}  Insert your invitation or thank you note, and you’re done!

Though we rely on technology for a lot of our communication, there is still something very special about receiving invitations and thank you cards in the mail.  For those who received a love letter from Jordan Event Studio last week, I hope you appreciated the extra personal touch we put into your card!  Happy Monday lovelies!

We were asked to help coordinate everything pre-reception, and we were so honored to help make their morning flawless.  We were also thankful that they thought to give us the reception off in order to truly enjoy the festivities of the evening (and we did!)  We had a wonderful night full of laughs at Pandora on Green.  We wholeheartedly welcome Eric into our family.  Eric, you are the perfect match to our Theresa.  Congratulations again.

In my research for prop ideas {mostly Pinterest!}, I found Oh Happy Day, a lifestyle and design blog who had posted a DIY on how to make props for a photo booth and included free printables!  Not only were these graphics fun and unique, they were also so easy to make!  See some of our photos below from the event.  If you’re interested in making these, click here for Oh Happy Day’s instructions as well as access to the printables!

Just to highlight the work she did for the shower, you’ll see below the menu we placed on the food table with her creative use of typography, the Parker Hotel graphic that we applied in the food & dessert labels, runner and invites, as well as the custom bingo game that added so much fun to the shower.

And now for the giveaway that Joanna has so kindly let us put on our blog… the cool quote below, simple enough to re-size, re-color and re-print for your next event.  We decided to install the quote on our beverage station simply because the quote mentions the act of ‘drinking,’ though you can apply it however you see fit, even a cool quote to add to your office space or kitchen.
