You can even figure out if you’ll have a tailwind with the realtime wind data.

Unlike the bike couriers of Montreal, I don’t have studded ice tyres.  So, considering the possibility of a certain amount of refreeze in temperatures below freezing tonight, I might be taking the bus to work tomorrow!

If you do hop on the bike in the morning, then take it easy, be careful around corners, avoid potentially icy or refrozen snow, watch out for slippery metal grates or paint and try not to do a lot of vigorous braking.

So I took the advice in the article that I posted last week and let my tyre pressure down significantly this morning.  The side roads wer a bit snowy but not too bad, seeing as it was fresh and not compacted too much.  The main roads were AOK, the gritters, busses and cars removing most of the snow from the tarmac.

The bike rack was a bit unpopulated, as you can see above but that’s to be expected.

She may be a multiple world champion and Olympic champion on the track but she still rides an “ancient little shopper bike” to her local shops.

I just noticed the Cycling Info blog.

It’s run by a bloke called Tejvan and has quite a few thoughts about cycling in general, as well as commuting There’s an Oxford focus, seeing as he lives here.

He also takes quite a few photos of cyclists in and around town…so if see if you see “a tall, lanky person taking photos of cyclists”, then smile ’cause you might end up on his blog!
